A meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Governor’s Forum to resolve the raging dispute over the proposed N30,000 National Minimum Wage ended in a deadlock on Monday in Abuja.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa.
The Chairman of the NGF, and Governor of Zamfara State, Mr Abdulazeez Yari, led a smaller team of governors to the meeting to speak for the Forum.
Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, Those at the meeting included Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode; Kebbi State Governor, Mr Atiku Bagudu; and the Enugu State Governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, was also at the meeting.
Recall that the majority of the 36 state governors had maintained that they could only afford to pay N22,500 as the NMW.
They had also stated that the other options were for them to reduce their workforce or the Federal Government would have to review the revenue sharing formula to make more money available to the states.
The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Kayode Fayemi, is one of the key proponents of a revenue formula review.
Signs of a deadlock at the meeting was noticed when the governors emerged wearing long faces and refused to formally address State House correspondents.
One after another, Yari and his colleagues declined to talk.
Similarly, the President’s Media Office, which earlier promised to brief reporters on the outcome of the meeting, also kept mum after the meeting.
As of the time of filing this report, the media office had yet to respond to any inquiries.
However, findings indicated that pressure was put on the governors to move up to N24,000, a middle course the federal government was said to be disposed to as the NMW.
NLC is foolish.the strike should have not been suspended at all.Manipulation on this matter will continue till next year.
LocalChamp: Posted By: Joseph Jibueze On: November 20, 2018 A prosecution witness yesterday told the Federal High Court in Lagos how three aircraft flew N1.2billion from Lagos to Ekiti State for delivery to former Governor Ayo Fayose.
Danmola Otuyena, a banker, was testifying in Fayose’s trial for allegedly receiving and keeping N1.2billion and $5million said to have been stolen from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), contrary to the Money Laundering Act. Otuyena, who headed his bank’s Cash in Transit Services Unit when the transaction occurred, said he accompanied the bullion van that took the cash to the airport.
He was the fourth prosecution witness and was led in evidence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) lawyer, Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN).
The witness gave evidence on the bank account of Sylvan Mcnamara Limited and how cash was withdrawn from it on the instructions of former Minister of Defence (State) Musiliu Obanikoro on June 16 and 17, 2014. The witness also revealed that although Obanikoro operated the account and was the known holder, he was not the official signatory to it nor was he a director to the company in whose name the account was opened.
Otuyena said he got instructions from his boss to get the cash ready for movement to Ekiti.
“My director gave further instructions that we should move the cash to the airport. We contacted the cash in transit company that renders bullion services – Bankers Warehouse Ltd – and the cash was moved to the private wing of Murtala Mohammed Airport.
“We could not get access when we got there, so we waited outside. My director said someone would be there to attend to us.
“He spoke to a certain Gbolahan Obanikoro through my phone. He helped to process a pass and we were able to enter the airport – the bullion van and myself.
“Later, Musiliu Obanikoro came. My boss called me and spoke to him through my phone and said we should give him the cash. The cash was given to him.
“We loaded the bags of cash into the aircraft. About two or three aircraft were used to load the cash.
“My director, Premier Oyiwo, having identified Obanikoro, said I should release the cash to him. When we pay cash to beneficiaries, they sign off for collection. Obanikoro signed off for collection,” the witness said.
Asked how the cash was packed, Otuyena said: “We have bags designed in a standard way in the banking industry. We used them to package the money. We call them jumbo bags. We used the biggest sizes to pack the money. We used jumbo bags for the N1.2billion.”
Otuyena said he also got a call from his boss on June 17, 2014 to pay N200million to Malik Bauchi from the same account operated by Obanikoro. He said he was asked to waive the identification process.
“But we contacted the account holder. Rather than pay Bauchi, the amount was paid to the account holder. We used Ghana Must Go bags for the N200million,” the witness said.
Under cross examination by defence counsel Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN) and Mr Olalekan Ojo (SAN), the witness said there was an initial instruction that the N1.2billion be paid to six persons, but that they were not available to collect the cash before it was given to Obanikoro. He insisted that Obanikoro was the account holder and ran the company account even though his name was not stated in the account opening documents that he was the sole signatory.
The witness read a board resolution appointing Olalekan Ogunseye as the sole signatory to the account.
“I’ve not come across any other resolution appointing another signatory to the account or Obanikoro as the signatory,” he said.
Ojo asked the witness if there was evidence that Obanikoro personally withdrew the cash from the bank in view of the fact that there was no instruction to that effect in his name.
The witness said: “The narration we have in the bank statement is fund transfer. There was no entry that Obanikoro received the N1.2billion.”
On why that is so, the witness explained: “The instruction to release the cash first went to the Treasury Department, which debited Sylvan Mcnamara’s account and moved the cash to a transit account. So the entry is a default narration for the debit.”
The witness said Obanikoro was not a director to the company, and that he did not know what happened to the cash after he handed it over to the former minister.
Three other witnesses testified earlier for the prosecution: Zonal Heads, Southwest 1 and 2 of a new generation bank, Lawrance Akande and Abiodun Oshodi, and the Head of Financial Operations of another new generation bank, Olaitan Fajuyitan.
Akande said he was informed that money would be brought from the Akure airport to be paid into the accounts of Spotless Nigeria Limited (Fayose’s company and co-accused) and De Privateer Limited.
He said Fayose’s associate Abiodun Agbele called him in June 2014, saying he had a lodgment of N1.2billion to make. He said he also got a call from Fayose to that effect.
Akande said he asked Oshodi to follow the transaction, adding that they had solicited for deposits from Fayose.
“I had no reason to regard the funds as proceeds of crime. I didn’t observe any anomalies in the operation of the accounts,” he said under cross examination.
Oshodi testified that he got a bullion van that took the money from Akure airport to the bank for lodgment.
“Biodun Agbele came with a security escort, including police and soldiers, and we went to the Akure airport with the branch manager and the bullion van.
“We moved the bullion van close to the plane, and then evacuated the cash. The former minister was there also.
“Agbele supplied the accounts where the money would be lodged – De Privateer, Spotless and the personal account of Fayose,” he said.
The witness also narrated how the cash was deposited. For instance, he said a driver, Taofik, came to the bank 21 times to make some cash deposits in one day. He said Taofik deposited N9.9million 10 times, N9.5million 10 times, and N5.5million once. Other deposits were also made at various dates, he said.
“Taofik happens to be the driver of Abiodun Agbele. The teller was filled by our former cash officer. Taofik couldn’t write,” he said.
Oshodi testified that the deposits were normal, and that he associated with Agbele because he considered him a man of good character.
“I didn’t know the source of the money. I was glad to receive the money. Until I was called by the EFCC, I didn’t find any anomaly with the money,” he said under cross examination.
Oshodi said Fayose also did not personally visit the bank to make any lodgments.
Fajuyitan said he received instruction to make the N1.2billion available, as well as the N200million, which he moved into a transit account He said since the money came from the ONSA account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), it must be legitimate.
“My bank will not knowingly receive proceeds of crime. The bank does not regard the money as proceed of crime,” the witness said.
Fayose had pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on an 11-count charge. He was charged with his company, Spotless Limited.
EFCC said Fayose and Agbele, who is facing a different charge, allegedly took possession of N1, 219, 000, 000 on June 17, 2014 to fund the former governor’s 2014 gubernatorial campaign.
The commission said Fayose “reasonably ought to have known” that the money “formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act, to wit: criminal breach of trust/stealing.” The alleged offence is contrary to Section 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 15 (3) and (4).
EFCC said Fayose, on the same day, received cash payment of $5million from Obanikoro, without going through a financial institution, the sum having exceeded the amount authorised by law. The alleged offence, EFCC said, contravenes Sections 1 and 16 (d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011.
The commission said Fayose benefitted from N4.65billion slush funds allocated by the ONSA under Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) during the Goodluck Jonathan administration. EFCC listed Obanikoro as one of 22 witnesses who will testify in the trial. Justice Mojisola Olatoregun adjourned until January 21 and 28 for continuation of trial.
That is how they ruined Nigeria for 16years looting our treasury. All they accumulate illegally with the pains and cries of the masses will perish in their eyes. They will not know peace with their generation in their lifetime.

BabaOwen: Nigerians are frustrated, says Obasanjo.
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday lamented the state of the nation, saying that many Nigerians are “disillusioned and hopelessly frustrated.”
He equally hinted that Nigeria ought to have ceased to exist owing to “many mistakes that have been made, but God did not allow such calamity to befall the country”.
Obasanjo spoke yesterday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, when the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, was formally presented to him alongside other candidates of the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
According to him, God did not create Nigeria to be a failed country, rather one of the leading countries among comity of nations.
The Ota-farmer said the country still lags behind other developed nations because of the “conscious and unconscious choice of the people of Nigeria.”
Obasanjo said, “some people are hopelessly frustrated and when I see people like that I tell them – don’t be frustrated because of the situation in the Nigeria. Otherwise, we have made many mistakes in this country that Nigeria should have ceased to exist, but that has not been our lot. That has not been our situation, we thank God for that”.
we still remember 16 years of frustration disappointment and failures of PDP on Nigeria. They created Nigerian problems with their sharing of the national cake..... God will punish them all and their generation of thieves

Akpororo said Mr Oluwole took him in after his friend, the man’s son introduced them.
Mr Oluwole let him stay in their house and treated him like his own son. He stayed with them for years before becoming a successful comedian.
To pay him for his kindness, Akpororo bought him a brand new car.
The man was visibly surprised and overcome with emotion that he asked Akpororo to kneel down as he said a moving prayer for him.
Akpororo shared a video of him gifting the man the car on Instagram.
He captioned the video with these word: “He’s complaining about TV set but he didn’t know God has a bigger plan for him, he thought I bought the car for myself but little did he know that the car belongs to him.

Adiku, who said he was on a killing spree, told operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) that he personally killed over 20 people, mostly policemen during the operation.
The suspect said he deliberately killed those policemen that day because he has scores to settle with the system, adding that they took Tramadol and other hard drugs before embarking on the mission.
Adikwu, a Corporal attached to the Kwara State unit of SARS, was dismissed after he was accused of freeing suspected armed robbers. He was later charged to court and sent to prison, where he spent three years.
A police source who gave update on the case, revealed that from findings, Adikwu had vowed to deal with the police for dismissing and jailing him.
He said: “Adikwu, while in prison, had been threatening to the hearing of other inmates, that he would kill as many policemen as possible once he had the opportunity.
Adikwu led three others into the police station, while others stayed outside. They walked into the station as if they wanted to lodge a complaint with their pistols concealed under their clothes.
Immediately they entered, Adikwu said he shot the station guard he killed 9 policemen at the station and carried their rifles. The suspects confessed that they took Tramadol and other hard drugs before embarking on the operation. .
Over 30 people were killed that day and Adikwu said he personally killed over 20. One of those he went into the police station with was Arrow (Kunle Ogunleye).
After the operation, he went to each of the banks which were being robbed to issue orders. He was captured on CCTV shouting at his members, telling them what to do and what not to do.”
brickswrites: Olawepo-Hashim slams APC as PT emerges most competitive party
Peoples Trust (PT), which recently nominated Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate, has emerged tops among the over 20 newly registered political parties fielding candidates for elective positions in next year’s elections.
With 194 persons running on its platform for legislative, gubernatorial and presidential posts, PT, with the Olisa Agbakoba-led National Intervention Movement (NIM), was first among the 28 were newly registered parties taking part in the processes leading to the 2019 poll. A total of 6,510 contestants have so far been registered for the elections, comprising 4,496 for House of Representatives, 1,856 for Senate and 158 for president and vice-presidential positions.
The development comes as a coalition of Igbo group under the aegis of Igbo National Stakeholders Assembly (INSA) has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to trade Vice President Yemi Osinbajo with an Igbo indigene to get South-East support for his second term election in 2019. INSA said the gesture would give the region the assurance that the 2023 presidency would shift to the South-East as promised by President Buhari, even as they asked that Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, should be sacked on the grounds of bad representation of Igbo in the state. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, President General of the group, Chief John Uche, noted that the Igbo tribe has contributed immensely to the economic growth of the country and is deserving of the Presidency. He said: “We want the world to know that Igbo tribe is the most populous tribe in Nigeria. Out of the 6,247,845 registered voters in Lagos State, Igbo are 3,259,126 excluding non-indigenes. NdiIgbo resident outside South-East Nigeria constitute between 37 and 45 per cent of the population of their host states, and in Lagos, Nd’Igbo are above 55 per cent of the total populace. In some constituencies, Nd’Igbo are more in population.” The group also lamented that APC in Lagos State has not been friendly with non-indigenes by denying them tickets for elective positions in the state, adding that there was an agreement between the leadership of the group and major political parties in the state to give Igbo a level playing ground at the just concluded primary elections.
“While Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) complied, APC did not,” Uche declared, just as he urged all Igbo to withdraw from APC for the meantime while they receive further directives from the leadership. PT, which is in alliance with other parties, is promoting the presidential candidacy of Mr. Olawepo-Hashim, has a total of 194 contestants on its platform, including 140 for House of Representatives, 52 for Senate and one candidate for president respectively. The party is being trailed by JMPP, 182, MPN 176, the ADP, 136, the ZLP, 115, and the ACD, 106. Analysts attribute PT’s rise to prominence to the emergence of Mr. Olawepo-Hashim as its candidate, and its integration with many other parties and groups like Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM). Olawepo-Hashim disclosed that PT’s agenda is most appealing, stressing that the party’s economic development plan would create $4 trillion dollars in GDP in 10 years, even as he said PT’s target is to net five per cent global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments and rapid increase in the ease of doing business in Nigeria. He added: “We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate agriculture, solid mineral sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40 per cent and then tackle unemployment through industry-based jobs.”
The PT presidential candidate deplored the poor economic management strategy of the ruling party, saying it has led to greater poverty among Nigerians, lamenting that “APC’s woeful failure has put 88 million Nigerians into acute poverty, with 1.1million getting into that bracket in the last four months despite relatively high oil price.” Olawepo-Hashim said Nigerians were getting poorer, because of the woeful economic management strategy or lack of strategy of the APC government. “Even though Nigeria was not a prosperous economy when President Buhari took over, Nigerian economy has now gone from bad to worse,” he noted, saying the recent revelation by the Brooklyn Institute that 88 million Nigerians now live under acute poverty is disappointing. The PT presidential hopeful vowed to cut down on acute poverty by half in the country within five months of his election as president and commander-in-chief, and then set the nation’s economy on the path of modernization and all round development. Olawepo-Hashim declared: “I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together. Most assuredly I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment. I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant economy by investing in iron and steel, research and development, and in other critical sector. These critical sectors will include chemical and machine tools so as to generate the production of capital goods, local capital and to bring in prosperity through the needed multipliers.”
Meanwhile, an opinion poll conducted by Truly Independent Diaspora Electoral Officers (TIDEO) has thrown up eight presidential candidates on top of Nigerians’ preference list in the coming February 2019 election. Behind the two major contenders, President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the opinion poll shows the national leader of the about 17 million-member youth wing of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Reverend David Esosa Ize-Iyamu, of Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP) Omoyele Sowore of Africa Action Congress (AAC), and Kingsley Moghalu of Young Progressive Party (YPP), as possible winners of the election. Others in the first eight of likely winners include former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke of Social Democratic Party (SDP), and erstwhile Education Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN)., TIDEO’s poll ranked 61 political parties and their respective candidates, with over 70 per cent of the respondents being young people.

Fayose took to Twitter on Saturday to express his displeasure. He wrote;
"If it was this easy to get WAEC to issue the "Attestation/Confirmation Certificate, why waiting this long? Why contesting four times without a single certificate? So when will the military produce the credentials that he claimed are with them? Many questions begging for answers.
"My consolation is that (provided they will allow votes to count) Nigerians will have the opportunity of ending this national embarrassment in 4 months time. I have never seen a nation that has been so embarrassed by a mere question of 'Mr President, where are your credentials?'"

Only Fayose and his generation are embarrassed and possibly they will be embarrassedl forever. Buhari will never use abracadabra results to attain a position. Possibly he misplaced his result and had to wait for waec for a n attestation on his results. The questions are did he write the exam? yes Did what he said he has tallies with waec attestation? yes.Every Nigerian can access the result online..The Premium paper has confirmed it too. There fore Fayose and all his allies should go to blazes on the matter.Masses are tired of their base less noise and misguided conclusion.s-presentation-buharis-waec-certificate/[/quote].

The President was presented with an 'Attestation of Result' by a WAEC official on Friday, November 2, 2018.
Fayose took to Twitter on Saturday to express his displeasure. He wrote;
There fore Fayose and all his allies should go to blazes on the matter.Masses are tired of their base less noise and misguided conclusion.

Correctgist: Chelsea Manager, Mauricio Sarri has told former Nigerian international, Victor Moses that he is not in his plans and therefore should be ready to leave.
Moses was a super regular in Chelsea’s line up during Antonio Conte’s reign, but since Sarri took over in Stamford Bridge, the Super Eagles former star has made only one appearance on the team.
On Wednesday when Sarri named a largely second team in the Carabao Cup clash with Derby County, Moses was not even in the matchday squad prompting questions on his continued stay with the London side.
Footballlive.ng quotes the Italian as saying last night that Moses has not been in his squad only because he does not know where the 27-year-old Nigerian can fit in.
Dramatically, Chelsea youth team graduates, Calum Hudson Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheeks are now ahead of Moses, thereby raising strong permutations that the ex-Super Eagles star is bound to leave Stamford Bridge in January.
Reports rom London said Sarri has already held clear-the-air talks with Moses and told the star he is not in plans for the team, hence his absence on Wednesday.
Moses has made only one start this season and was a surprise omission from the squad against Derby, despite training with the team the previous day.
However, additional information reveals that his former coach at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, who is now in charge at Manchester United, is on the hunt for Moses.
Mourinho actually needs a new striker, as both Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford have not totally convinced this season with only five goals between them in 24 competitive games, but Moses could fit in.
The three attack-minded players being considered by the old Trafford outfit are Moses, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Croatia star Ante Rebic and AS Roma’s Cengiz ünder.
After joining Chelsea in August 2012, Moses was farmed out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United before the arrival of The Blues’ former manager, Antonio Conte.
The 27-year-old winger, who has a contract with Chelsea until June 30, 2021, found his range under Conte, but things have gone back to his ugly early days at Stamford Bridge, and he is heading out again.
How will he not be ridiculed anyhow? He resigned from national engagement because of his club matches. How many national matches Doe's he play yearly? The truth is he older than his football age that is why he wants to manage his body stress.Age false hood is a barrier to Nigerian football
1. Does WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria have the power to issue certificate the SECOND time after the first is issued and without first retrieval of the first certificate (just as they have done in the case of President Muhammadu Buhari)?
2. Does WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria (and globally) have the right to issue a fresh certificate to an individual after a previous issuance even when the individual never reported that the previous certificate contains error nor returned same to allow for a fresh certificate to be issued (just as they have done in the case of President Muhammadu Buhari)?
3. Is it not expected of WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria to issue a certified true copy of certificate to individuals whose certificates got lost, stolen or damaged, as with the global norm and policy?
4. If President Buhari swore on oath on five occasions (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019) that his original WAEC certificate was with the Military board, does it not amount to fraudulent practice for him to be issued a fresh certificate by WAEC?
5. If President Muhammadu Buhari applied to WAEC for misplaced/stolen/damaged original certificate, is WAEC permitted under the law to issue a fresh certificate or a certified true copy of the previous certificate?
6. If question 5 is the case, does it not amount to deception under oath by President Muhammadu Buhari to have alleged in his affidavit that his certificate was with the military board instead, and thereby committing perjury?
7. Has Nigeria become a Banana Republic where those in power are permitted to do as they please without regards for procedures, policies and laws?
8. If WAEC claim that the new certificate issued to President Muhammadu Buhari is "Attestation Certificate", is it ideal for such to be issued when the President swore to oath that the original still exist and is with the military? Or Was it a false attestation made by President Buhari?

. I wonder why we like problems in Nigeria where there are none.It surprises me that some Nigerians still like making noises when there should be none. All the questions above are frivolities and aberration. They are meaningless and childish in all ramifications. Let it be on record that Mr President said the original copy is with the military. WAEC came with another copy bearing same exam number which tallies with what he has been saying he possesses. A high ranking official like governor or president can be issued a certificate at any time. Remember When Goodluck Jonathan s house was gutted with fire destroying his university certificates UNIPORT presented another certificates to him in ASO rock. within two weeks There is no issue in that. This is an exceptional case. like that of PMB It is an executive treatments. Finally all your questions are noises which hold no water at all as long as he did the exam and all the results can be confirmed.....
The president does not care about online noises and underground comments about his certificate. He knows what he is doing and how to silence his haters. He is indeed a mature leader. He can never use forgery or deceptive mean to attain power.
AFENIFERE PEOPLES PARTY of NIGERIA......confused deluded and misguided elders who are just looking for their daily bread.....A group PARTY that is irrelevant in the south west and a toothless dog.. Omisore should leave them because elders usually behave like toddlers ...They will soon wake up from their slumber
adeleke granted bail on self regonition others were denies bail.Did they not comit a bailable offence? They ganged up to assist him bc of money and are paying for it now Masses who are deceived by the rich people will suffer forever in Nigeria. .
The Pan-Yoruba Socio-political Group, Afenifere yesterday suspended the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore, in the last election of Osun State.
Omisore, according to Afenifere, was sanctioned for allegedly violating the directive of the the socio-political group, which affected the outcome of Osun State governorship election. The suspension of Omosore was contained in the communique issued at the end of the General Assembly of Afenifere held at the Ijapo, Akure residence of its leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti.
The SDP candidate was reported to have supported that All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, during the run-off election in Osun State.
But in his swift response to the suspension, Omisore argued that Afenifere by-passed the principle of fair hearing by saying that he acted at variance in his decision to coalesced with All Progressives Congress (APC) at the rerun election.
Omisore noted that SDP passed a resolution to coalesce with APC in Osun, stressing that he acted in consonance with the party’s position.
Omisore added that Osun SDP is not affiliate of Afenifere in any form.
He also stated that he was not given any directives, adding that that it might be oversight on the part of Afenifere.
Afenifere’s communique was read by Chief Korede Duyile, who was the chairman of the communique drafting committee.
Other issues discussed by the Afenifere were President Muhammadu Buhari’s certificate saga, the Nigeria’s debt profile, the state of insecurity and killings in the country, the killing of Shiite members and restructuring.
While reviewing the controversy over the academic qualifications of President Buhari for the office of the President of Nigeria, Afenifere said that the controversy touches at the core of the moral fibre of the country.
In view of the confusion, Afenifere said the onus on Buhari was to produce the document so as to retain his claim of being a man of integrity and being eligible to contest the 2019 elections .
Afenifere also expressed concerns over the spate of general insecurity in the country in spite of security being one of the three cardinal claims of focus by the Buhari administration.
“The country has been troubled by herdsmen terrors in different communities and kidnappings across the country as well as in the abduction and killing of Agom Adara, a pregnant woman in Ondo State, the Zamfara twins Gen. Alkali and with Leah Sharibu still in the custody of Boko Haram, among many others .
“We have also witnessed how Kaduna State whose Governor, Mallam Nasiru el Rufai once boasted of paying off criminals, has become virtually ungovernable with the recent Kasuwan Magani massacre that led to the deaths of no fewer than 100 persons and the attendant spill over crisis.
“We are worried that there has been no coordinated response on the part of the federal government to these needless losses of precious lives just as it continues to ignore calls for the overhaul of the country ‘s security architecture with a restructured polity to guarantee greater security of lives and property”, Afenifere stated.
The group condemned the extreme and barbaric use of force against members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Abuja.
“There can be no justification for the level of blood-letting that has been carried out against the sect whose only crime has been protesting the continued detention of their leader in spite of different court orders to release him from detention.
“The act of disobedience of court orders is totally reprehensible and confirms the statement by the US Ambassador to Nigeria that perversion of institutions, which abuse of court orders typifies, is the worst form of corruption.
“We, therefore, called on the federal government to release the leader of the Shiites as ordered by different courts and ensure that the security personnel responsible for the mass killings of his supporters are brought to book.
“We must not forget how extrajudicial killing of the founder of Boko Haram turned the group into a massive terror machine which we have been unable to contain and we are opening yet another front”, the group added.
It is true that when elders are growing up they behave like todlers. Is Afenifere a political party? What is Afenifere business with APC or PDP? Does Afenifere not have APC and PDP politicians as its members? Is Baba Fasoranti led Afenifere still relevant in the south west? Omisore is a politician who can decide on what he wants at a time. When people are decamping as they like in the soutjh west did Afenifere talk? why are they crying over omisore? PDP came for Omisore support they abandoned him out of their pride.APC condesended before him and agreed to all his terms you are blaming him. When Obasanjo wasted our tenure for 8 years what did Afenifere say then. All the Afenifere politicians should register their group as a political party now because i see no wisdom in tbeir decision any longer. Omisore should not mind them.Afeniferee cannot do anything again in the soutjh west.It is a toothless dog.
