List of overused phrases in modern pop culture? Here are a few: Ratchet Pause Swag you ain't bout that life |
lmao! ![]() Hilarious |
Heh. I talked with my dad about this Unilag stuff. He thinks that GEJ is an id1ot. Not too often that me and my old man agree on politics, lol |
Haha I can see how the dialogue above would look though, lmao |
She is a girl. A very sexy girl for that matter. She got too much attention here on NL from guys (and girls, for that matter), and thus ended up taking down her photos (and it seems changing her NL gender to male) ![]() |
Seems to be more (a) than (b)....? Nigeria rehires 788 doctors fired over strike |
habiolah: wuch kain tin be dis sef? Even when I dey secondary school dey copy my friend for exam hall, I no dey write verbatim: I go first understand wetin the guy dey talk, I go come arrange am with my own grammer, add other thoughts to it: the thing worked wonders.lmao! ![]() |
So this might already be contained in this thread. But under what terms are the sacked doctors being recalled? Is it just a) "you can come back to work and receive the same salary you've been having", or b) "you can come back to work, and we'll give you what you want" ? |

Hrm...unfortunate that you live so far away. Otherwise you could see me in person ![]() |

Can you expose this data a bit more cleanly? E.g., if I want to see who user #5 is following, I visit: www.nairaland.com/users/5 then see the id #s of who he/she is following as well as say his username. |
Kind of...it helps me maintain my sanity and relieve stress. So I like going there a lot. |
kandiikane: Please elaborate.I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. Yes, those are my shoulders ![]() |

Kenooff: I don't know a thing about programming and i seriously want to learn, please can you suggest any language that i can start fromThis might be a good place to start: http://inventwithpython.com/pygame/ More resources here: http://wiki.python.org/moin/BeginnersGuide/NonProgrammers |
Overall, some good suggestions from Tinubu. |
Nobody escaped? The hostage died! Mission=failure. Who cares if nobody escaped? Even better to capture one of the kidnappers live than to simply slaughter them all. |
In Ruby, modules and libraries, basically. I don't really consider stand-alone functions/classes necessarily software components. Even though technically they are.. |
Relying on naija military to rescue you? Who here is really surprised that they botched the rescue? |
And on the off chance that you are a lawyer....well, compare his analysis and presentation to yours. Which do you think sounds more convincing? He says, "this violates X, Y and Z." You say "my guess", "venture to guess", "I'm quite sure", etc. He argues from firm facts, you are arguing from speculation. Anyway...back to topic. |
My last words on this issue: Your reaction was not unexpected. Matters of law are usually not interesting, particularly to the layman.
Oh, I find this legal issue very interesting. But given that a SAN has spoken, I am not sure what value there is in hearing the opinion of you, a lay person. Like, I prefer hearing from experts over guys who have about as much legal expertise as myself. |
Its not as simple as it appears, Afe Babalola's interpretation of section 16, is just that, his interpretation. If GEJ's actions are challenged in court, the opinion which would matter at the end of the day would be that of the judge hearing the case and I venture to guess that most courts in present day Nigeria would not rule against GEJ's position. I'm quite sure that one can find SANs who would have a different interpretation than Afe Babalola's. Afe Babalola and others who feel angry because they were shunned by GEJ should suck it up and spend their time in strategizing for 2015.
Your ventures and speculation are no doubt valuable to you. But not very interesting to me. |
nagoma: The whole of the five SE states put together are no bigger in size than one average Nigerian state and each of the 5 states are just the size of LGAs in area. So why should they have 2 more micro states?a) this is factually false b) It is irrelevant. Land area is not what determines the merits of state. |
Very interesting. |
freecocoa: I really don't care about the arms of government right now,I just need the questions answered. The answer depends on the branch..... |
How can you be debating whether names/brands mean anything. Is Coca-Cola the same as the generic, local brand? Is Gucci the same as the fake thing? Is Princeton the same thing as a state university? If so, then all these people who pay for the "brand" must be fools. Will we next be debating whether 1+1=2? Let us not trivialize the discussion. |
freecocoa: to all of you making a fuss about this name change, let us get something straight.Which branch of the FG? The legislature (which can pass a law to alter the law establishing Unilag)? Or the executive branch (which actually seems to have no legal authority to rename Unilag)? |
No. You are wrong. |
GAR3TH: Better yet Anioma state can be carved out of delta state and added to the south east zone while two state in the NW zone can merges reducing it back to 6. Then every geo-zone will have six state and the number of states in nigeria will remain 36 not 42Unfortunately, none of those NW states will agree to be merged. Or rather, the politicians in those states will object to a merger. |
That he made no comment on the legality does not imply that he thinks it is legal..... |
