Nah. Skimmed through the page before and after, didn't see nothin |
What is there to be impressed about? |
Haha, "Black Scorpion", taking orders from his British masters to destroy Biafra. And there was a "Black Scorpion" there to destroy Benin. And there was a Black Scorpion there to round you up into Nigeria. And there was a "Black Scorpion" that sabotaged several African revolts around the continent. "Black Scorpion" is nobody, he's just another one of those body's used for European means, no one mention any "Black Scorpion" in Biafran War videos, they mention people who held off several super powers and their pet monkeys, while their wife and kids ran across Igboland looking for shelter and things to eat. Anyway, that was 40 years ago, bounced back, snatched the crown back.Again, if it makes you feel better to think that it was a British/Soviet/Egyptian plot against the noble Biafrans, so be it. If the lie makes you feel better, who am I to begrudge you? ![]() The reality is, you were slapped silly by Nigerians. Nigerians who purchased weapons from others? Sure. Not Nigerians gifted stuff by 3rd parties. Or by the Soviets with their Nigerian collaborators. |
ezeagu:Do you have the book I mentioned handy? Pages 138-140 or so pretty much deal with that. I don't have a scanner handy, though. . . so if you don't have a copy I cannot post it here. |
What aspects of the Nigerian economy do the biafrans control? |
The smug mile means you don't know anything about Egyptian pilots aiding Nigeria, or the amount of shells provided by Britain, or the amount of planes and other ammunition the USSR made sure Niger never lacked. It's a thing of pride. How many Egyptian pilots? How many shells provided (for free, I guess you are saying?) by Britain? Same for planes, ammunitiion from the Soviets (provided for free, I guess?) Yes they have been distorted, like how the Yoruba 'conquered Igboland' when 1. the Yoruba didn't make half the military, and 2. the war was between Biafra and Nigeria. If you people don't want to be shown for what they are (muppets) then they need to be more careful selecting insults. CheeeersWell, largely speaking Yoruba didn't have much involvement in the war. I've never really claimed otherwise. However, we did have this one general who conquered large swathes of your territory. . . his name is the Black Scorpion ![]() |
This beef is getting hilarious ![]() |
This culture of dependency, waiting on the FG to do everything in Nigeria is part of the reason Nigeria cannot move forward. Smh. |
OP has doomed the Libyan rebels to failure by associating them with Biafra ![]() |
Please delete the 60 spammy posts of this poster and ban him: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=650102 https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=650102;sa=showPosts Just 60 posts about some goddamn university in Ukraine. Spammed EVERYWHERE. Fvcking annoying as hell. |
jamesugo:That is the beauty and peril of democracy. The people get what they want, even if it isn't any good for them ![]() |
^-- So in your delusional mind, Biafra really fought both the UK and the Soviets in addition to Nigeria? ![]() Na wa o. Please, do what I did. Purchase the book The Nigerian Civil War by John de St. Jorre. A lot of rumors, myths and legends bandied about (by both sides) have distorted reality, it seems. |
Tinubu, Ribadu and Adeola should travel in separate planes if possible, imo. Mysterious "accidents" seem to frequently occur when dealing with the PDP |
I've no problem reducing the adminstrative costs of collection the taxes. This will reduce the take of Alpha Beta consultancy, which is reportedly controlled by Tinubu. But attempts by the FG to interfere with Lagos's ability to collect tax? That is a different matter entirely, and must be resisted. |
Gbawe:Solid point, thanks. |
Those commercials are actually pretty funny. But not really clear to me how it references naija leaders? Haven't been led by military since '99 |
Really wonder how he managed to pull this off. How do they make up the shortfall in money? |
LagosShia:Next time I see my buddy I'll ask him the name of his grandmother's (Shia) sect. They were persecuted and eventually fled Iran for Canada (this was after the Islamic revolution there.) |
^-- Fair point. But how many people here realistically have created software of note? Say, software that is used by 1000s of others or is a mainstream solution for a problem? How many here are "true master's"? Fraction is very small. Ultimately, that is the point. . . your typical IT professional adds a lot less value than your typical doc. |
;d ;d :p |
Neither have pig products in it, they are just preservatives/additives: E211: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_benzoate E224: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_metabisulfite First one seems to be a bit dangerous though. |
Omenani:I'd rather have quality weapons, personally. If people copy the design of the AK-47 which is not hard, this weapon is cheap to create and it is cost effective. The weapon has dealt damage to many armies who had superior firepower. There are different levels. Not all Ak-47s are the same. I don't think you should just buy from anywhere. The reason why I like Pakistan as a source is because the quality is likely to be higher, while the cost is good. This is where I'd start if I want to learn how to manufacture good weapons in large #s at low prices. Anyway, to each his own. |
Omenani:Supplying guns for armed-robbers and kidnappers is a bit different (in both volume and quality requirements) than weapons to fight the Soviets, Taliban, Americans, in Kashmir, etc, no? Not to mention. . . they've really found ways to reduce the costs there in Pakistan. So in terms of money vs. quality, that'd probably be where I'd want to learn about gunsmithing (with all due respect to Aba.) |
Omenani:I wish when the British left, we'd also each had 3 separate armies too. This was the major mistake we made in the 50s and 60s. Awo tried to correct this, but failed. . . if we had not made this mistake, Nigeria would be a very, very different country today. |
Omenani:There a cluster of villages in Pakistan that are renowned for their small-arms production. Check out this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDiwRFaJv-A Dollars to donuts one of those villages produces more weapons than all of the East. Yet. . . somehow I don't think it'd be hard to take those villages, push come to shove. Anyway, if you think you are ready. . . be my guest. |
^-- Toothless threats. W/o military strength, pretty much empty words. If you rise up, you'll face a war more devastated than that of the 1960s. But you are even less prepared now than before. |
Aigbofa:Nah, think about it this way. Nigeria comes into being, Western region, Eastern Region, Northern Region. East and North ally. West is partitioned by its enemies (North and East.) Awo gets locked up. So you've successfully weakened your enemy to the West. Then you execute a coup, knocking off all the leadership off the North. You then dissolve the powers of each region, centralizing power under the Igbo. Really quite a well-done job. If the latter stages had been handled by more competent men (e.g., me), the Igboman would rule Nigeria today, rather than being it's footstool and being hated by all. |
Aigbofa:They came very very close after their coup. But of course. . . fcked it up due to incompetence. Nigerian history would have turned out far, far differently if they'd pulled it off. |
henry101:Smh. Wish I could respond to that, but I cannot. That Ooni needs to be sacked and replaced. . . |
This cannot be real. 200 dudes? Is she a porn star? Did somebody and his 40 closest friends run a train on her? Most girls I know around my age are at 10-20, max. Median might be 4 or 5. 200 is way too many if true. Run the other way. |
^-- Why would I bother to compete with my inferiors? What is the point of that?On a serious note, his argument was pretty well done. Yours imo was not. I try to say this without bias or favor. |
