Mine is working well. Are you accessing it from a mobile device? I am using safari browser on my iPad and it worked. Maybe you should try another browser.

Why chicken out so quickly? It may just be a retracement or a sign of a retracement to come in the next few days. But if you don reach your target price, no lele.

Seun: Pls create a new thread for your discussion of financial instruments that are not tbills. This violates rule 1 of Nairaland, which I will enforce.
@Seun, thanks for interfering. Too many distractions and it has prevented some of us from enjoying and contributing to the actual topic of this thread. I don't understand why we should derail the thread with matters relating to other money market securities when we can easily create another thread and drop the link here for those who are interested.

praisestep: Good morning @all,

Please what is the essence of Meritrade "Market Overview" my system is not displaying anything whenever I click on that icon. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Market Overview gives you a Live view of what's happening in the market. Meristem's 'market overview' is just like the Live trading section of Morgan iTrade but with different packaging.

Born2berich: I understand yoir point but i prefer calling a spade a spade..why on earth will a company want to release result and they decide to shut down their website? No responsible managemet will do a callous thing like what oando is presently doing..they are seriously playing mind games and will eventually dump their shares once agan on the monkey investors.

Anyways, who am i to stop this bullet train from reaching destination N1,000?

@IMMANUELLO, please contact the head office of that brokerage firm and speak directly with their MD. If this fails, report the matter to SEC (I assume you still have your receipt of payment). And yes, according to @Passwelle, EFCC will only come in when there is a large sum of money involved. SEC (sec@sec.gov.ng), EFCC (sidris@efccnigeria.org, info@efccnigeria.org).

@ALL, if there is any member of this thread that still pays money into a PRIVATE account of a staff of his/her brokerage firm, please desist from it. It is not only wrong but unwise. Always request for their company's account- which should bear the firm's name as account title/holder- no matter how close you may be with your broker.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147:
myjoy08: Sir, don't be carried away by the current price range of Oando. It is just a mere personal wishes and the opposite will be the case. If you are expecting Oando result to be awful, i assume you missed the target! I might be wrong as usual, just watch!
I think there will be more blood this week and I expect the result to be good which may be the cause of an envisaged reversal in price soon. If the result is good, I don't think it can cause a big rally. A short rally may be possible. Something is happening to the stock price of this stock and the Oxygen boys are not far from being the perpetrators. I refused to be caught unawares by Oando and I pray for God's guidance for BnSITL. Whatever it is that they are doing to Oando will be done in our favour.

Born2berich: The warning bell has been rung severally but the faithfuls didnt heed...The only advise i have is dont be too greedy..Once you make your gain quickly exit, dont wait for unrealistic price targets for now (N100 or N1,000). The cowboys are using the emotional investment we all are displaying here to enrich themselves while leaving us to bear the brunt.

I might not be the best in stating all my facts with grammar but a word is okay for the wise.

The recent upgrade on Meritrade looks cool. You can now see Live trading section including trades, bid/offer quantities/prices, bid/offer depths, etc. I hope we are able to trade live very soon.

passwelle: Nigeria presently has no identity management system in place. Till this is implemented it will be near impossible to limit or minimise insider trading. KYC requirements for opening bank accounts or stock trading accounts are still lax imho.
This is very true. KYC is a complete waste of time. Even CSCS now requires submission of biometrics when doing inter-member transfer from a dead house to an active one- another waste of time and resources.

Agbalowomeri: Monkey-hunting before the release of the expected bad results
Once they start monkey-hunting, we already know what's to come next. The tin don dey near N25 and may get to N20 once the result is out.

mkwayisi: IMO, the hottest stock for short-term investment is PREMBREW. Since August 8, it has consistently risen from #0.77 to 1.65 (105.19% increase), within just 17 days!! Of course, you should know when the chips are set to come down smiley
@Skyquest knows better than entering a one chance stock. Do you have PREMBREW in your portfolio? If yes, let us know if you face any problem with its liquidity when you eventually decide to sell.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 6:41pm On Aug 25, 2014
passwelle: The cowboys have basically ensured that loads of folks sold out their positions in the stock with the daily flunctuations in its price over the last two weeks pending when the result would be released. Thus positioning themselves for the "impending rally" grin
I don't see any impending rally.

SKYQUEST: Deal all, I want to make short to medium term entries into any 10 of the following picks at the entry price indicated, make una please advise me biko!:

SKYEBANK 2.9
TRANSCORP 5.65
WAPIC 0.76
I think you may still get Skyebank at a lower price. N2.60 is a possibility. Wapic has been trading as low as N0.74 recently. Bullish sign for Transcorp but it may go into consolidated trading.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 11:56am On Aug 25, 2014
Toluway: we are saying the same thing sir, as you can see. The only area i disagree is where you said the Cop deal did not bring a rally. As i have said times earlier, Oando rally happened before the Cop deal itself. It moved from 15 to 32 Naira in anticipation of the deal. Series of events that follow the deal will continue to move this stock. Oando and Transcorps are the stocks to watch out for. These two stocks seem to have the same characteristics at the moment. Since these two buses have refused to reverse to carry the rest of us, i won't have any option than to fully hop in by Sept. ending or immediately following a good result. But the result for now, will not be my major yardstick. Dextra's strategy on this stock is wonderful and highly rewarding.
COP deal DID NOT bring any rally. Oando is a very crafty and risky stock (at the moment). This cannot be gainsaid. It is a stock that can make people rich and vice versa. We have to keep careful watch.

nitrogen: Tax freeeeeeeeeeee...

Anyway, I aint looking for people to buy, just thought I could share some other options in this interesting times. Back to our stock Market matter, since our local investors are not ready to to delve into other aspects, which will never aid the development of our financial market.
grin no vex bros. Just a norm whenever the thread is about to derail. A new thread for it will help investors digest CP more than the intro they will get on this thread.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 2:55pm On Aug 21, 2014
Dexterax: As much as I understand your fear about commercial papers, I'd like to remind you that based on debt seniority and in the event of complete liquidation of the entity that issues the CP, holders of the CP will get paid FIRST before equity holders are considered, and yes, considered. Infact common shareholders of a company bear the highest risk! That's 1.

2. We permit the sharing of jokes and the like here, bullish or bearish season, so one or two pages of CP material shouldn't hurt anyone really.

Finally, anyone who's hurting because some other guy might be cleaning out in another asset class while equities are having a (temporary) hard time should wake up to the realities of capitalism.
No problem my oga as long as we don't derail the thread. That part of my post that says 'BnSITL are currently not happy' was meant as a joke ooo. I am very happy with the bears

zendi: Hilarious...but wrong on Ewumi. He is not that old. More like middle aged. I have a dim memory of his photo I saw in the papers a while back. Black, burly and successful looking. Mind you Emmanuel Ewumi, I think, is his real name. A known motivational speaker in investment seminars and the like. It was a half picture so no idea wether tall or shot. As for wicked looking, far be it from Emma. You get "busy body" imagination.
grin How you take dey know 'successful looking' person?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 1:23pm On Aug 21, 2014
CP is as risky as FD. I still prefer TBills (0% risk). Rates are currently not too good with Tbills hence, i am fully in the stock market for now. Interest from CP is subject to tax deductions unlike Tbill and Tbill has better liquidity in the secondary market. People should consider the country in which they are investing their money before taking any step (AAA rating or no AAA rating), depending on your risk tolerance. Abeg make una open another thread for this una CP. This is stock market thread and BnSITL are currently not happy. Biko.
