Born 2be Rich: I read somewhere that the dead line for the conoco deal will expire on 30th of nov
Yes, they extended it till Nov 30th. But what if Oando is unable to meet up with this new deadline? I hope there is room for more extension in such case. Because any attempt for Oando to terminate the deal the way dem terminate Brass LNG agreement with COP, the tin go rofo rofo o.. Anyway, vigilante mode activated on COP deal.

amustsuccess: I heard Unity Bank is merging with Ecobank. Will this downgrade the price of UnityBank? Whats the advantage for UnityBank?

Is it okay to buy transcorp now?
Please kindly post the source of this news. If this is true then Ecobank will do what they know how to do best- BAD scheme of arrangement.

qizick: thank God for tramscorp is it a good time I sell I just wanna make. my capital back n trade wit d interest
Transcorp don give most people at least 90% return. So I supposed you must have made closed to this return on the stock. You can sell the amount of units that will give you back your capital. Hold that one strong first and then you can continue trading with remaining units incase the tin reach N3.00 which is not an impossible task.

Adebhayor: Thanks Elai147. Please how can i get those analysts and wen is the next auction. Thanks
I think Meristem only send these updates to their clients- those who have them as their stockbrokers. The next auction should be 20-11-2013.

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Elai147: 11:56pm On Nov 11, 2013
Adebhayor: Hi pals, av been following dis trend. U guyz are really doing a great job. Plz i need clarification on this, if one want too invest in TB, do u just pick an interest rate or check the previous rate before choosing what to bid for. Secondly, if one pick an interest rate of 11% for 91days and CBN actually rate came out as 10.59%, does it mean the investement will be unsuccessful or the investment will take effect with CBN rate. Thanks.
You can use previous rate as a guide. Some analysts (e.g Meristem) offer advised bid rates for every auction based on current market trend.

If you bid higher than CBN's stop rate for the auction your bid will be unsuccessful.

daftpikin: Abeg na yu people should recommend good brokers for me na
It was difficult to recommend a broker in response to your earlier post since you indicated that you needed a cheap one. I don't know how much you can afford as a start up capital but Meristem will accept a minimum of N50,000 to open an account for you. Their website is in Stockbull's post above. They offer online services and are very good. If you are not comfortable with Meristem's start-up capital of 50K let the house know as there may be some cheaper online brokers.

presiade: The broker is GTI Securities Limited. I tried their number severally today, they didn't pick up.
Then I sent sms to them, that if them no transfer the stock back to my portfolio (@ no cost to me) on Monday, I'll report to NSE/ CSCS.
Noted. Try and use more of email communications with them. This will serve as a better proof than phone conversation that you actually gave them time to replace the stock before reporting them to SEC.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 5:27pm On Nov 08, 2013
mercylicious: At times, brokers do make mistake. The may have sell order from another customer and while inputing the order, they make mistake with one digit and another customer's stock is sold or bought.
Report the anomaly to them and give them 24hrs to regularise or else. They will just have to credit u back or buy back ur shares. I know this happens cos a friend dt works in a stock house has once made the mistake and he had to pay almost 100k to buy the stock back cos the order was to sell all and the all they sold was bigger than for the intended customer.
Yes, it may be a mistake but the brokers have to prove this by doing that which is necessary. Sometimes, my brokers buy stocks which I did request for and I had always rejected the stocks even if they were good stocks. They always try to talk me into accepting it but I always say NO. Na from clap them dey enter dance... If Stockbrokers buy without your consent and you accept the next thing will be to sell without your consent. They should not try this to any of us or else...
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 10:11pm On Nov 07, 2013
presiade: I think this is the opportunity to deal with my broker that I've been waiting for all this while.
Trade alert notified me of a sell order which I didn't mandate.
Sold 11,232 units out of my mansard holdings!
NSE/ CSCS MUST hear this except they pay my target profit margin of 100%:::
I bought @ 2.09 & 2.20 and they sold @ 2.26 without my consent, what do you suggest please.
Na wa for all these brokers o... When will this stop in the NSE? Please kindly let us know the name of the stockbroking firm so that those who deal with the same broker can be vigilant and please follow the usual procedure of letting SEC know about this and fight them till the end. We are strongly behind you. Please keep the house posted.

ikemefunam: @ALL PLS COMMENT IF U AV IDEA:WROTE FIRSTCONTACT REQUESTING THEM TO ASSIST ME OBTAIN /BID FOR ME,WAS TOLD I SHOULD FORWARD A WRITTEN AUTHORITY REQUESTING THAT,BEING ADDRESSED TO MY BRANCH OFFICE ATTACHING BIO DATA PAGE OF MY INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT,INWHICH I DID,BUT WITHOUT INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT ,RATHER DRIVERS LICENCE TELLING THEM I HAVE NO INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT,FEW DAY LETTER PRCISLY ON 4 OCT MY ACCOUNT WAS DEBITED FOR TB FOR THE AMOUNT I SPECIFIED.PLS AM CONFUSED ABOUT THIS UPFRONT INTREST THING,HOW DOES IT WORK....?
Chomzy19: U are supposd to get ur interest immediately ur account is debite, i think they usually subtract ur interest 4rm d amount u re buying n take d rest e.g if u are buyin t-bills worth of 500k n ur interet is supposed to b 50k dey jst take 450k frm ur acc
First Bank does not discount your interest from the invested capital as suggested by Chomzy19- which is supposed to be the right thing- they will credit your account with the interest very soon- perhaps by Friday or early next week.

Born 2be Rich: Oando just dey fall my hand anyhow..see as FO, Conoil and even MRS don waka pass finish..meanwhile oando dey dance makosa for N11 junction.. angry
9free: So make we just dey hope say the CoP deal when completed go boost the stock to maybe N30 by year end.
How you see am?
[/quote]
Aks: I foresee Oando shares jump up by 40% by end of Nov but this FO get as e b sha
Na activity Oando dey... Na only CoP deal completion go fit perform some magic and that may not be this year. Oando shares still dey under review by most analysts because of the ibori saga wey never clear finish. The only tin wey dey fear me be say before we go officially hear say CoP deal don complete, the inner caucus men wey dey get insider information go don buy everything finish and the price go don skyrocket. So those that already have positions in the stock will benefit most.

soloniger: oga what can you say of dangote sugar and nahco which are losing
I think both are okay with mid-long term approach. Dangote sugar is reacting to the usual forces of the market after enjoying a moderate bullish rally. There is good appetite for this stock despite its recent bearish trend in the past few days and I think it will pick up soon. Nahco has been lingering on its N6 support line for some months now and I expect it to break through this support before bouncing back.

Krisuba: D ogas in d houz i hail. Ma hous is on fire! Got almost al d lower bank shares n they keep fallin below cost.is it advisable 2 cut d loss now?
Krisuba: Fcmb.sterling, unity, skye, fidelity, gtb ,firstbank. All are now below cost xcept 1bank.pls ur opinion is needed
IMO, First bank and GTB are among the top class in that sector and are very good for long term (I am assuming your investment in these 2 banks should be for long term). Unity is almost at the car park- there is no point selling now- just wait a little and it will rise again, perhaps above cost basis. Even though cutting your losses can be a very good strategy, I only fancy it for short term (trading stock) buy. If your strategy is for long term, there is no point cutting your losses in the short term except in the advent of a logical reason to do so. So your decision to hold for long term should be based on rational analysis... watch out for bad news that can lead a company to bankruptcy.

If you bought the stocks for short term then you can cut your losses if you have something better to do with the money.

ikemefunam: please advice:for TB, is it better for bank to bid for me or give then rate to bid for me?
If you allow your bank to bid for you, it is almost certain that you will get TBills to buy. However, you can also indicate your bid rate and if you are unsuccessful, you can try buying from the secondary market. Your bank can give you a list of offers and you can choose the one that suits you best instead of waiting for the next PMA which is usually fortnightly. Each time I was unsuccessful with my bid, my bank had always provided me with options of buying from the secondary market and the interest rates are only slightly different from the stop rate.

You should have sent it to the registrars yourself. Ask your broker to tell you exactly when the form was sent and then relate this information to First registrars. If they still cannot find the form, it means you will have to send another form but this time do not send via your stockbroker. Print out the form, fill and take it to your preferred bank. Your bank will sign and stamp the form. Once this is done, you should send the form to the registrars by post and follow up with email communication. If possible, send them a copy of the form by email before you post the hard copy to them.
