DBR:Error . . . that's after I changed the topic to 'Muslim Artist Does Collabo With Gospel Singer Deola'. ![]() Now bow and kiss the mofucking ring. ![]() |

The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) recently banned these for vulgarity and indecency: "Enter the Place (2face), "Dance for Me" (Duncan Mighty), "Suddenly" (D'banj), "Nwa Baby" (Flavours), "Baby Konga" (Konga), Ekaette (Maye Hunter) . . . (not that I agree with NBC on all of 'em though) And that's Nigeria alone. This is 2010 . . . both NBC and the National Film and Videos Censors Board (NFVCB) are watchin' keenly like eagles . . . off the top of ma head, I can list 10 vids (home vids and musicals) recently banned by the NFVCB . . .
Hehehe . . . beep, deviation. I said, the only area being attacked is music . . . becase they are an easy target. Nobody does ish to the Armani adverts and movies like The Reader and Sex and The City air in Nigeria. DBR:As long as the direct quote from M.I on the thread never said 'top', then the topic is misleading. Every Ofoka, Rhymestein and Tavarez knows that. That's why I usually go about the section changing topics that are misleading . . . like I did with the Deola thread. The Dagrin thread . . . it said 'Dagrin involved in Fatal Accident' . . . I had to modify it to serious, Why?? Because he wasn't dead according to the body of the post. Now if I didn't modify it, people would have though he died three days earlier if they used your logic. Now I should go about doing it on every thread, but I've got this thing called a life. DBR:M.I felt Pope in 2010, Saucekid didn't feel Nas, said he was a mediocre emcee. M.I is important to Nigerian hiphop, so is Saucekid . . .neither of them represents views of Nigerians. Forgive me for making your misyarn public knowledge. DBR:TBH, I don't even know what I wanna do with it . . . I just want Warcraft to end on a high. I'll try to get y'all on a YIM conference to brainstorm. |
This debate has been swung in a bazillion directions and as such, the major thrust has been missed . . . It ain't about civilization or westernization . . . if it was, I'll have been the first person to remind y'all bout the Garden of Eden . . . It's about folks selling mediocre works through a cheap avenue - SEX . . . What's commercial about the vid you posted Mr Lekside??
That's what we sexy activists have been trying to drum into y'all's ears. The fact that modern day hiphop videos are just a cheap target because of the success it has brought to a few people. No one complains about the fact that everything these days is marketed using sex . . . toothpaste ads used to be people flashing teeth with CGI sparks, now it's guys saving bikini-clad chics at beaches. When last did you see a movie without a sex scene?? But no one complains about the other parts of our lives . . . because it's easy to attack the young black rapper that would have had to turn to drugs if he didn't make money in the rap game. |
@Crizzy One new addition to this is that at a point in the H-2-H league, the top eight teams in the league will be entered into the knockout stages. They will battle each other and like the World Cup one will mean winning the H-2-H Cup. |
DBR:I never said you shouldn't comment . . . Infact the main reason I felt the need to quote you was the fact that you referred to me in you post. I only corrected your misinformed stance on the matter. You read top emcees in Nigeria, I pointed out the fact that it says 'favourite' in the post. . . instead of accepting your mistake, you say nah, 'Eldee is on dumb mode'. I don't care about you making comments relating to Eldee's 'mental aperture' or 'comprehension deficit' . . . just read before you talk. DBR:It is valid, it is respected but it does not represent Nigeria or Nigerians as you implied. As I said, Saucekid thinks Nas is mediocre, but there's prolly more Nas fans in Nigeria than America. Especially when the person uses the words . . . 'people I feel' and not 'best/top'. DBR:Just saw it . . . I was planning to do a Warcraft Finale battle . . . which will prolly mean the end of an era. I'm thinking of doing a cypher thingy with that, what do you think?? |
obinna5000:Erm . . . the Dark Knight is technically a sequel. |
obinna5000:Equally?? |
obinna5000:Let's see if you're still saying this next year. ![]() Dark Knight will still stay longer than Inception in everyone's lists. |
googles:We start from the top . . . yeah, you take it off. ![]() |
v3:I'm not a big fan of sci-fi movies . . . their biggest selling points are based on B.S like HD cameras and CGI. But do you think Inception will still remain on Dark Knight level this time next year?? |
googles:Erm . . . you need to come one hour early for rehearsals so I'll have enough time to make sure you're erm well rounded. ![]()
like i said earlier, stuff like this is just a side effect of allowing young kids to run d show. what is d average age of musicians nowadays? one of the simplest solutions is 4 there to be a age quota system in d media. ie your not allowed to produce a music video if an adult of 40yrs or more is not involved. ![]() ghollywood need that quota system especially with all their indecency movies nowadays. all their crew are as young as the movie plot is senseless.
Stereotypically misinformed comments. . . the real people that run the show are multi-millionaire board members of companies like Warner Bros and Def Jam. They decide what happens . . . the musicians are just pawns. They know what sells and what doesn't . . . they choose what to sell t what set of people. If we stopped liking sex and went celibate . . . they'll stop making raunchy videos. |
DBR:“So My Fav rappers this year, Naija of course, No beef please just gisting, ”, he started. That's what is on this board . . . I only said you should read what's on the board before coming to make obviously misinformed comments. In all honesty, the topic of the thread is irrelevant if it says sumn different in the post. Read the first post . . . it's not like I asked you to stop global warming. DBR:People like me will comment?? I saw the whole list, I didn't agree with the list . . . but I saw 'fave rappers for 2010' and it stopped being my business. Criticising the list by saying 'it's only i naija that we see a list of top artist for a year and half of 'em dont even have any decent material out for the year in view, beats me' . . .and you turn around to say I'm making assumptions?? You must think you're talking to Kaydee or sumn. DBR:Stop chatting bollocks abeg . . . Jay-Z's opinions are not America's opinions. Saucekid made comments about Nas the other day . . . does that in anyway have anything to do with what Nigerians think of Nas?? Or doesn't Saucekid stand somewhere in the 'scheme of things' of Nigerian hiphop?? Kanye said Soulja Boy was the next Nas . . . does that represent America's views?? And I'm the one that went into dumb mode. . . |
tkb417:Thanks bro . . . dunno why but I wasn't allowed to view this page all day. I had to go through Dayokanu's profile to gain entry. |
nonsrule:You forgot to ask for my the 16-digit number and security code of my credit card?? ![]() |
@ravenzord That's my next Facebook status ![]() |
googles:We're not going to do it to sell . . . we will send a socio-political message. Making out with hot girls is one of my talents and you're good at erm . . . being hot, so we'll be stars for emphasizing out talents. ![]() |
Inception salvaged this Bondless summer for half the movie-lovers I know. . . Silly old Team Jake V Team Edward battles on E! came to a halt. Half the time you're hanging on to make sure you don't miss sumn. It's simple . . . you miss one little thing and come out to call it 'complicated'. ![]() Cinematography: Pushed every possible limit . . . this is the future. (25) Story/Plot: Compelling, Intriguing, Complicated, Interesting, Thrilling . . .I used to go about saying 'A sci-fi movie is only as good as the technology available. . . till I saw Inception. (20) Acting: In my own opinion, Leo Di Caprio wasn't the star of the movie . . . I'm giving it to his wife that kept flowing between different modes effortlessly. (15) Directing/Presentation: Did what it said on the box . . .(15) INCEPTION: 75% |
@Googles I want you to star in my raunchy music video . . . no singing, just background music. ![]() |
Smart guy . . . there's no way he can lose now. If he runs . . . the voters forced him to, he couldn't bear to disappoint us. If he doesn't . . . he's a man that believes in fairness and honesty. Smart politicking. |
@OP I had to Modify the topic . . . hope you don't mind. |
DBR:Abeg . . . stop clinging to irrelevant ish . . . I got that from his Twitter page. But even on this thread, it said 'my favourite for 2010' . . . what does 'favourite' mean in your part of the world?? Next time . . . don't jump into a topic without reading the first post . . . uninformed comments ridicule your posts. DBR:Stop insulting my intelligence . . . there is a set of people you thought should be on the list, M.I didn't have them, hence all the bitching on this thread. If you don't like M.I's list, go make your own on Twitter, I'll beg Questionmark.com to report it. ![]() DBR:M.I's views represent M.I just as Eminem's views represent Eminem not America. Simples. |

On the other hand Nelly would have looked mad if he did a song titled "Tip Drill" with no broads tip-drilling or Terry G singing "Gbon Gbon Gbon" and no one was shaking Cars are an expression of style heck its even a bait these days to get girls so incorporating unclothed chics in car ads are not as off the mark as you think I think human beings are an hypocritical bunch!! There is a reason prostitution is the oldest profession in the world so all this hue and cry about artistes with lewd lyrics is an exercise in futility if you ask me. So long as there is a market for 3ex people would sing about it! Why do you muchachos find that so hard to understand?
That's a good way to put it . . . people come here to say putting it in a way is 'vulgar'. There is a market for 3ex and there is one for 'learning from music', there is a market for bragging bout wealth and there is one for the R'n'B guys. 3ex just happens to be the most successful and the boldest of them all right now, hence the constant criticism. As Jay-Z would say . . . 'I let you do you, why you wanna ride my ish' . . . |

@DBR So apart from six people out of ten, the list is a joke?? He said . . . 'I'm releasing a list of people I felt in 2010' . . . and you're saying you want it to be a copy of yours?? And what's with the . . 'it's only in Naija' comment?? So M.I's view represents Nigeria's?? Sit back, relax, and edit that post . . . someone borrowed your Mac. ![]() |
