What is important to James may not be important to John. The same way there are people who own every pair of sneakers but no car. They just like it. As long as we're not in North Korea and you're not adversely affecting anyone, do what makes You smile when you wake up in the morning. |

Steady like Titanic. Even BYC undershirt and razor blade can't be made in this country - look at the cost of energy alone. |
I understand now what Trump called Fake News. Well done to Jumoke Oduwole, she has forever publicly identified herself as one of the ineffectual buffons in this lying, scam called APC government. Instead of sitting quietly. Congrats. |

rerhji:The suspects "took off"! Direct any further questions at the Rivers State Police Command because me I no know |
ChangeIsCostant:The story has holes in it. The suspects abandoned the car and "took off". How did they "take off"? On foot or with another car? Took off running? The police that were trailing them in cars couldnt catch them on foot? If you trust Police story, I have a bridge to sell you. |
God should manifest himself by you doing your child/ward's homework? Truly everything is faulty in this country when you can proudly do someone's assignment, come to proclaim it proudly in public and then have the audacity to mention God. You are a liability. Disgusting. |

A lot of useless information on this site. Unfortunately you have to give the people what they want. I understand |
Go outside Nigeria for one week, and you will realize that it is a failed state. I feel sad for the country that kidnappings are a regular occurrence. In saner climes, an event like this would be national news! Kidnapped, bound, blindfolded, starved, beaten and drugged! How can someone be kidnapped and go through this ordeal for 4 days? But in Nigeria, it happens so regularly. And this is to a salesman, just trying to make a living for himself. Who then is safe? I've never said this before, but I think it's true: Nigeria is a failed state. The elected President is incapacitated and speaks to one section of the country in his language. The acting president speaks only in rhetoric. Governors plant flowers and buy 50 seater buses every year. Citizens face kidnap, torture and extortion by other citizens. |
Well, we may expect some changes in the coming weeks/months. Uber's CEO has just resigned, under pressure from shareholders. I often wondered, why did Uber have that knee jerk reaction to taxify's reduction in fares? No they're struggling to exit this very strange hole they've put themselves in. |

xandy84:I usually read without commenting but felt compelled to express my views when I read that post. However those were not typographical errors (typos), that was just terrible English. Mother of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick dies in boating accident Mother of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, Bonnie Kalanick, has died in a boating accident, a company spokesperson said. Travis' father Donald Kalanick, was seriously hurt in the incident. An email sent to Uber employees said that Kalanick's father is being treated at a hospital. Kalanick's parents, who went on frequent boating trips, were on Pine Flat Lake in Fresno County, California, when the accident occurred. Our thoughts are with the Travis and the entire family at this was time. http://www.uberafricaforum.com/mother-of-uber-ceo-travis-kalanick-dies-in-boating-accident

Tune into Nigeria Info 99.3Fm at 1pm. Uber, Taxify and rideshare matters discussed. You can also call in. |
Good to see the protest today! Uber Drivers organised themselves around Lagos - Lekki, Ikoyi, Surulere. Let's see Uber do the right thing for both sides - riders and Drivers! |
Taxify did not have the driver numbers to force Uber to reduce prices. Besides that Taxify has bigger issues in getting customers - riders cannot even pay by card using Taxify. That is is one of the things they need to focus on if they are looking to increase demand. And drivers are not exclusive to Taxify or Uber - most drivers on Taxify are already on Uber! Besides do you know that surge can be turned off and on by a simple click of a button by Uber? It is not some type of magical automated system. I wish I could say more on this but it would jeopardise other things. For those saying that the rates don't matter, please consider this - in 2015, Uber's marketing tactic was 'Earn 150k a week using your car' and it was very possible. Today check what their highest earning drivers are earning in their weekly email - below 100k- and you know those are even inflated figures! Do they even publish that anymore? ![]() Sadly Uber may be destroying its own business with its tactics. Not only is it earning less by reducing its prices, it will pursue better cars/drivers from its platform which means less revenue per trip, and fewer trips overall. |
Ho ho ho! ![]() Uber is now accepting 2003 cars! So your 2012 corolla is now on the same level as a 2003 matrix. Don't be confused o. Uber is looking to quickly fill the large gap that will be created as more and more partners run away from the platform. And For those taking about surge today: it is NOT due to increased demand via rider numbers o! It is due to reduced supply in terms of driver numbers! Let's see how it plays out! |
Caustics:Lol I no talk that one oh! ![]() |
Back and forth. Consistency in policy is key |
I created this thread so Uber Drivers and Partners can coordinate a response to the recent 40% reduction of fares by Uber. It is very important to organise ourselves in this instance before it is too late. Delay is dangerous. A little while ago I posted this: eledalo:Please note: Oladele by name. (Eledalo backwards). I am a former Uber Partner. I left the platform in December 2016 following the 'rate discount' they applied, with a promise to top-up the balance. They didn't and i could see this was going to affect my business in a BIG way. I invested heavily into Uber and had 10 cars on the platform. Not 1, 2, 4 or 6 cars o. 10 cars. If someone slaps your face and doesn't say sorry, rest assured he or she will use a cane or belt soon. I left soon after that. This morning, Uber Nigeria announced NEW RATES for their service in Lagos. Fares have been slashed by 40%. Obviously this means reduced earnings for partners/drivers but how they react remains to be seen. See new rates here Uber did same in Kenya but reversed when drivers protested. Existing partners & drivers need to come together at this point and plan out a course of action. Join the existing facebook group:Facebook Uber Lagos Partner & Driver Forum and stay up to date with Uber/Taxify news Uber Africa Forum This thread is not to get partners/drivers to leave Uber, Taxify etc. Uber has provided thousands of jobs for young Nigerian men and women. Let's get them to do what is right with Partners and Drivers. It's confusing that a company with such a great opportunity would waste it like this! |
