In less than 3 years of governance, Osun state has witnessed a remarkable turnaround. |
MostIncredible.DFirst:Going by your logic, you are saying all bridges with barriers against heavy goods vehicle are substandard. I believe your logic is defective, preventing heavy duty vehicles on the bridge will increase the life span of that bridge. |
Jaidey-one:But it is so shameful, if someone who truly is enlightened enough to register on nairaland and have lived in IB for over 20 years can make such comment, What differentiates the thought process of a Pepper seller in scout camp and him? .It is not bad to criticise, but it is important to cross check your criticism and see if it follows logic/commonsense. |
dammytosh: That is the problem with ACN and their supporters. Some of you just like to look for any thing(usually imaginary) to assert your pessimism or dislike for what you hate. Why will you call the bridge useless, if truly you live in mokola environs? CCECC was the contractor, and what is the link of that coy with Tinubu? they are working all over Nigeria, (abuja, akwa ibom,lag,..) The barrier was simply to prevent heavy duty vehicles from plying the bridge, there is an alternative route . The bridge did not also cost up to 3 billion naira, it was 2.3 billion naira. |
Unflattering pixes, My ibo people, hold your leaders accountable, if the ones on ibo land are not enlightened to do that, let the ones who travel around the country and in the diaspora enlighten those at home on how to hold their leaders accountable |
Those trains should be adapted to transport cargoes, it is dehumanising to use those trains for human traffic inter state |
I am bringing this my ram too, its got swagzz.
|
This is not a military government,an IMPOSSIBILITY, it is simply a political statement to further divide the bonds of Igbos, the question is how will they unite and arrive at the particular state to be created? |
Great innovation, 9 out of 14 west african countries speak french as official language. I was in porto novo 3 months ago and could barely converse with the girls at the nightclub ![]() Lassez passez ! |
August 2013- 2,600+ MW ![]() |
Story, the current scores stays at 2,600MW after 15 years of PDP misrule |
Bliss4Lyfe: Getting happy are we? I am just getting started. All of u are failures. From Buhari to Fashola and Tinubu. At the bolded, are you cocck sure you are not guilty of that ? Many of your kinsmen have sworn to high heavens to no longer follow the Okorocha's and Ngige's just because the frontliners of their party affiliations are those they HATE for no justifiable reason. Many of your kinsmen have said they prefer thieves, and thugs to the Ngiges and okorochas because they have fraternised with the amala people and abokis. Where is the wisdom ? Why cut your nose to spite your face? Why bury your head in sand like an ostrich ? Why not develop a political framework that is workable in actualisation of promoting the igbos ? |
PDP do not like performers, once they see one in their midst, they try to relegate him/her to the background,Donald duke was not even offered a ministerial or ambassadorial position after his tenure, that says a lot about PDP. |
This pix was taken last week in bayelsa. APGA-PDP man, peter obi, smiling sheepishly like i have concluded the job boss.

The Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra, Chief Mike Kwentor, said it would not overrule the disqualification of six aspirants vying for the party’s governorship ticket in the state. Kwentor told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Saturday that the action of the screening committee was in line with the party’s constitution. He said that it was better for the party to go into the election with a candidate without blemish than with one whose victory could be voided. According to him, the constitution says you must be eligible to vote before you can be voted for and for you to be eligible to vote, you must have voter’s card. “So, I think that the Screening Committee disqualified those they disqualified based on cogent reasons. “I am sure that even those disqualified know that the reason for which they were disqualified was cogent, otherwise, they will appeal because the party made provision for appeal,” he said. The Alhaji Tayo Sowunmi-led committee screened the 14 gubernatorial aspirants on Friday and disqualified six aspirants. Those disqualified are: Prof. Charles Soludu, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, Dr. Chike Obidigbo, Chief Chinedu Idigo, Chief Tony Nnacheta and Mr. Emma Nweke. They were disqualified for non-possession of voter’s card, tax clearance, lack of evidence of sound financial muscle, and unresolved issue with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/apga-will-not-reverse-disqualification-of-soludo-others/

pro01: The claim is not "universally clear" as you claim. The rankings can be loosely interpreted to mean either a denotation of excellence (as in first, 3rd best, or 27th best), or a representation of relative age. We need to be sure what they really mean before we begin to accuse them of misrepresenting facts. Lol.I am aware University of Ibadan, who also claims to be the first university in nigeria was founded in 1948 as university college, Yabatech was founded in 1947, so it might be the first higher institution in nigeria. As to the third in africa and 27th in the world, i doubt if they are, and share the same sentiments with the op, but to transfer sentiments to facts, he needs to prove it with fact. Almitty Musiwa is doing something similar to what is expected of the OP. |
pro01: Lol. It depends on the context in which the rankings "first", "third", and twenty-seventh" are used. If these rankings are used in the context of quality of education, standards, and other subjective evaluation criteria, then I can't see any false claim there, since there can be no factual inaccuracy in subjectivity. After all, I am the most handsome man in the world. That is a "fact" that cannot be objectively proved false. There is no need for any verification, the statement is universally clear, unless you are mischievious. I think the onus is on the OP to prove his claim, since he believes the school is presenting a wrong claim. If i say the OP is a female specie, even though he claims to be male, then i must prove it. |
Lazy write up,i know many lazy thinkers will join the bandwagon to hail this write up. He has said the truth by half what is his definition of female powerbrokers in paties? which party has examples of such female powerbrokers? No body owns any imaginary franchise, at startup of any party, there must be frontliners with force to reckon with to propel the party to success. Will he have said Awolowo owns action group party? . The coming together of these parties is a welcome development, before the merger there was no true or formidable oppostion to PDP at the centre, with that trend, once PDP conducts its presidential primaries, who ever emerges is the president of the country, as national elections looks like formality. Instead of the so called parties playing clannish or regional politics, they have taken the bull by the horn to activate the power of synergy where 1+1 =3, what i would have love to hear from him is an expresssion of interest in knowing the themes of the parties manifesto. He was also talking about the govt not having the right to forcefully remove someone ?I say no, a state govt has the right to "forcefully" remove a nuisance/security risk from a position, if he /she will not co-operate. I will like to know his reaction if a mad man strolls in to his family compound and picks a spot of abode in there. The LASG has decided to rid its street of certified destitutes, train them in a skill for a period of time, while feeding them and reunite them afterwards with their families representative. |
rosebowl01: My exact point! why blame one side, and pretend to be neutral? why trying so hard to be a Chameleon when you're already considered (I hope so) a human? They've cultivated a habit of disrespecting Yorubas cos to them, Yorubas "cannot do anything but dialogue"I can see through his bigotry clearly, he tries to mask it, but his bias for tribal reasons shines like a diamond light. |
PapaBrowne: But what is so pathetic is the attitude displayed here on Nairaland and its beginning to eat into society with the likes of Fani Kayode playing key roles. What about the likes of Governor Peter Obi who ignited the fire, MASSOB fanning it, many Ibo newspaper columnists,...... ? |
One of the survivors told our correspondent the accident occurred when their vehicle, a 16-seater Toyota Hiace bus veered off the road while trying to avoid a crater on the highway. The crater that was not fixed evidently caused the death and injuries. RIP to the dead. The political jamboree called by Mrs jonathan was needless |
FreeGlobe: my brother Peter Obi stole Anambra State dry, the state today is like it was 8 years ago or even worse. The man has stuffed enough cash in his fidelity bank that he does not know what to do with, that's why he has embarked on "money dashing" spree. I heard he paid off Victor Umeh with 8 billion naira to settle APGA.Instead of whining, be proactive, join a moving train ,rather than stand in front of it. |
FreeGlobe: No, we are against Amala People's Congress entirely and Buhari particularlyi guess the political strategy from your region is childish at best. |
FreeGlobe: Soludo should not allow these sadists kill his mandate. PDM is the next option, he needs to mobilize Atiku and the 9 governors. They can support him financially and otherwise. The massive outcry over Soludo's disqualification shows he has the people's mandate and this is his only shot. He should fold his sleeves, enter the field and get it. Peter Obi should be ready for a big shocker. RIP APGAI thought you people hate a party with northern origin, why Atiku's PDM? |
Spits on APGA, if not for ACN, a one party state we would have by 2015. No sophistication at all by this useless apga, after 2007 elections, PPA with 2 governors was technically stronger than ACN (1 governor), but where is PPA today? |
over 60% of Igbos living in Nigeria are not on igbo land, MAY BE, a more sizable proportion of that 60% in other nigerian states needs to be back home on their land. , also in the event of a violent breakup of the country, i opine that the igbos have way much to lose |
It seems APGA decided to disqualify its frontline candidates, could it be Obi is selling out APGA finally to the PDP? Is that why obi said he is retiring from active politics immediately after his term. APGA seems dead and is presently lying in the morgue, i doubt if it will resurrect. |
I said it before that soludo has less than 50% chance of emerging APGA flagbearer. I hope the disqualification is not final and fatal. That is why i love the defunct ACN, a personality like him will have emerged consensus candidate devoid of an over rated party primaries |
I understand the plight of motorists and commuters on that road, that axis leads to my abode, apart from fixing the roads, there needs to be an alternative route, as the population surge in that axis is massive |
Focus and unity of purpose is what the ibos need, they are usually torn between two extremes e.g one nigeria vs biafra. state creation vs regional govt. Pdp vs apga., ibo presidency vs ijaw presidency, Anambra ibos vs other ibos, ..... |
Is that not a bump on the bride? |
