Assistant Superintendent Of Police Arrests, Ties 7 Farmers, Shoots Them To Death In Adamawa

January 4, 2018    The Adamawa state Police Command, on Thursday, confirmed the arrest of a policeman, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, who was alleged to have shot to death seven farmers in the state.The arrest followed a petition by a Civil Society Organization, Progressive Mind for Development Initiate. The petition signed by the President of the CSO, Abubakar Abdulsalam, alleged that the officer committed the offence on Nov. 23, 2017.It indicated that the police officer, while in charge of Safer Highways Patrol Team, arrested the farmers who were working on their farms at the outskirts of Gombi town, tied and shot them to death.The petition further alleged that the same officer had on April 30, 2016, while in charge of a police outpost in Kem village, Shelleng Local Government area of the state, killed four people suspected of committing robbery.“We as a concerned organization consider the act of the suspect (policeman) as an act against the provision of the Constitution and infringement on the fundamental rights of the people in question.“If such act is not checked, it will continue to spread like wild fire and eventually Nigeria will be unsafe for its citizens,” it added.Spokesman of Adamawa Police Command, Othman Abubakar, said the policeman had been arrested and detained as investigation continues into the case.

It is no longer secret that human trafficking is the second most thriving criminal venture in the world today, after drugs of course.
Hundreds of thousands have lost their loved ones to this ugly and inhuman trade and still losing. unfortunately, it is painful that these traffickers are not devils from outer space but our own kith and kin. Your neighbour next door, our so called uncle, brother, family friends might just be imagining how many millions the heart or lungs of that child he is giving a seemingly innocent hug might fetch him or her. Yes, run from the truth if you wish but that is the undisputable fact. Wrong value system has Left us with so many depraved individuals in the name of human beings. Admittedly, there is an Agency charged with this responsibility (NAPTIP) and most military/para-millitary agencies also have units of Anti-human trafficking. However how many of them engage in proactive measures rather than waiting until cases are reported to them.
It is therefore , most disheartening that most of our leaders especially our Governors will rather spend billions on image laundering rather than peanuts in organising workshops that Will open the eyes of their citizens to the dangers surrounding them. Even in few States where attempts have been made to get them sponsor workshops, the ready and recurrent answer has always been " his Excellency is busy right now with campaign".

I have therefore decided to use this platform to save all of us avoidable sorrow if it finds favour in the eyes of our mods. I also intend to tackle this in four major parts but will test the waters first with this introduction.

The time was exactly 5 minutes past 12 midnight on January 1st 2003 when the doctors and nurses at Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital, Enugu, announced the arrival of the baby of the year. It's been 15 long years but to me seems like just yesterday. Named Oluomachi, (God's good work), the little baby girl was a beautiful sight to behold and a great addition to the New year celebrations.
Today, that little bundle of joy has blossomed into a beautiful young woman and has continued to excel in so many areas of life. Talk about true beauty and brains.
As we celebrate her today, I implore all Nairalanders to show some love to her.

A Nairalander reunites with his family after 35 years:

It was joy indescribable as a Nairalander was met face to face 35 years after by the real family he knew during his formative years.
The reunion which boasted of several professors, academic and medical doctors, engineers , captains of Industry, top Public Servants , politicians , was hosted at the Orlu Sports Club in Imo State on the 29th December 2017.
When in 1981, the then Federal government built several Unity Schools and later handed them over to the State Government, little did the young boys many of who were not even teenagers who found themselves posted to Eziachi Secondary School Orlu ( ESSO), know that a strong family bond has been created.
Yesterday, tears of joy flowed freely as the ESSO OBA Family recounted their childhood memories and also shed tears of grief as they remembered their dead including the football maestro , Late Sam Okwaraji aka wasky pele.
Speaking at the occasion, the pioneer SP of the school, Sam Okpe thanked the organizers of the home coming and charged all to get committed to the task of taking ESSO back to it's state of the foremost School in Orlu Zone.
Also speaking, Engr Ben Ekwueme, an ex-commissioner in Imo State profusely thanked the organizers especially engr Augustine Chinagoro and Chris Akpunonu for their commitment in making the home coming a reality.
The glamorous occasion which was joined online by members in Diaspora was rounded off with the election of an interim steering committee.

I really don't know the section to send this to but I think crime should be the best.
A friend of mine asked for my help on a situation she is currently facing and she needs help,at her place of work her boss has been approaching her and she has turned him down a couple of times but he doesn't want to be cool about it.
She told me that he (her boss) said if she doesn't sleep with him she isn't going to receive her December pay all efforts to plead with him has fallen on deaf ears.
Am clueless about this and I would love to get suggestions from everyone and anyone who can help out.
