Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, today blamed the increasing rate in herdsmen and farmers clash in Nigeria, on conflicting reports on social media. Dambazzau said this while speaking during an inaugural meeting for stakeholders on the conflict in Abuja today April 14. “The rise of the social media has given scope to the non-traditional media outlets which has seen interest groups frame stories surrounding the conflict in ways that tend to undermine the cooperate existence of Nigeria” he said. He added that the crisis poses a threat to the unity of Nigeria and so must be addressed urgently. source http://www.reportnaija.com/2016/04/social-media-escalating-war-between.html

Rivers state PDP has asked the former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, not to heed the call of members of the National Assembly to resign or tender an unreserved apology, over the Lagos-Calabar rail project controversy. In a statement signed by the party's chairman, Felix Obuah, Rivers PDP called on Amaechi to remain in office so he can show the world how badly behaved he is. PDP in its statement said Amaechi had boasted of bringing Buhari into office and that he was in government to recoup all the money he spent on Buhari's campaign. Read the statement after the cut.. We believe it’s rather too early to begin to quarrel with Rotimi Amaechi or call for his resignation when he is yet to fix the Nigeria he promised would be changed by his new found love, the almighty APC in matter of months. Again, Amaechi remains our beloved son who said he single-handedly sponsored and made His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, President and he is yet to recoup the billions of Rivers money he invested into the project. Amaechi also said he planned to construct the controversial Lagos-Calabar rail line modernization project to empower the APC members in the South-South. This lofty dream will not be actualized if he resigns now. Though the National Assembly members may feel hurt by Amaechi’s ingratitude after it had accepted to deliberate over the later included supplementary budget which he later went public to claim was contained in the original budget proposal, thereby portraying the federal lawmakers as partial and discriminatory, the main reason for Amaechi’s mischief was to create the impression that he has the interest of the South/South people at heart which is a fallacy. I am happy that Amaechi has carried his antics of setting brother against brother to the very Senate that screened and confirmed his ministerial appointment. I want the lawmakers to use same to reflect on all the submissions by not only the PDP, but also the people, the civil society and concerned citizens etc, before they went on to confirm his (Amaechi) appointment despite several allegations of corruption and breaches of the Rule of law by Amaechi. This is the kind of falsehood, mischief and misrepresentation we have been contending with, from Chibuike Amaechi which his allies and the All Progressives Congress, APC have continued to deny and good a thing, he is now exhibiting same character to his appointees and this is just the beginning. The issue is not whether or not Amaechi should resign as a minister or tender apology to the National Assembly, but this should serve as an eye opener and a pointer to the crisis he (Amaechi) instigated in Rivers State that brought about the panel of inquiry that indicted him of a myriad of alleged corrupt practices and fraudulent engagements while he served as governor in Rivers State for eight solid years. We have said it times without number that Amaechi cannot change his true colour under President Buhari and must remain a cog in the wheel of progress. His early resignation will hardly free the APC members and the unrepentant Amaechi apologists from the world of theories which is not good for the country. The taste of the pudding they say, is in the eating, while experience remains the best teacher. Please let Amaechi be!". source http://www.reportnaija.com/2016/04/rivers-pdp-asks-amaechi-not-to-resign.html cc lalasticlala

Two men, Abbas Attahiru and Mohammed Sufiyanu, who parade themselves as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, were today arrested for offences bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence. Both men were arrested after an individual notified the commission of his encounter with both men. The suspects had tried to extort some money from the complainant who they told had a petition against him at the commission. They promised to give the complaint a soft landing if he co-operated and gave them some money. Suspecting a foul player, the complainant contacted the commission and he was asked to play along as the EFCC does not solicit for, nor accept payments/gratification from persons or organisations under any guise to settle matters. The commission arrested both men at the home of the complainant where they had gone to collect N100, 000 bribe meant to kill a fictitious case. They will soon be charged to court. source http://www.reportnaija.com/2016/04/efcc-arrests-fake-efcc-operatives.html

Arsenal has signed another Nigerian player, defender Marc Bola, to its team and have handed him a professional contract too. Bola, who is of dual nationalities- England and Nigeria, helped Arsenal’s under-18s to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals this season and is a regular for the club’s under-21s much to the delight of coach Arsene Wenger who gave the go ahead for the club to sign him. Arsenal said on it's official website: “Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Marc’s continued development at the club.” “Equally adept on the left or in the heart of defence, the powerful teenager was often called up to the under-21s as cover and he caught the eye with several encouraging performances for Steve Gatting’s side. "The lively defender has shown plenty of promise so far and will be hoping to continue his development by featuring for the under-21s on a more regular basis this term.” Marc Bola tweeted “Pleased on Signing My First Professional Contract At My Dream Club,” he said. Marc Bola joins a growing list of Nigerians already on the club's chequebook. Alex Iwobi, Chuba Akpom, Kelechi Nwakali, Samuel Chukwueze, Asisat Oshoala, Chiori Johnson and Tolaji Bola are the Nigerians currently in Arsenal FC. source http://www.reportnaija.com/2016/04/photo-arsenal-signs-another-nigerian.html

https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/linda1.jpg?9edf6e Linda Ikeji is without an ounce of doubt Nigeria’s most successful blogger and she continues to maintain her position unchallenged. Linda Ikeji didn’t get to the level she is right now without some form of drama or confrontations from celebrities over stories they feel was wrong for her to post without confirming or just clear grievances from comments emanating from her blog readers on her posts. Linda Ikeji was in the news yesterday when Wizkid called her out for publishing an exclusive story about how he was on the verge of being kicked out from his Lekki apartment. The actor and Linda have since put their beef behind them. 3. Wizkid https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Wizkid-Linda-Ikeji.jpg?9edf6e Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid is one of the few celebrities that have had a back to back diss with the blogger. Linda Ikeji’s beef detailed back to a long time ago when she posted some news about the ‘Star Boy’ which clearly didn’t go down with him. According to Linda Ikeji, the singer wanted to have a meeting with her over how he doesn’t like that she posts news that affects his brand to the world, Linda Ikeji said she denied the meeting with him and he has not been cool with her since then. The two fell out again as Linda posted an exclusive story about how he was about to get kicked out of his Lekki home, which he claimed to own, but Linda revealed it was a lie. The singer went on to bash her and call her old and ugly and more. Linda clapped hard back at him by calling him little while spilling more dirty secrets about him. 4. She’s a gossiper, She sells gossip” said Toke Makinwa . The blogger clapped back with a long and detailed post of how she has never had se’x with men just to get ahead in life. Toke Makinwa responded to Ikeji’s revelation in an interview with 360nobs where she said: “I’m not the person who will come on here and give you ‘I was once a girl who had no shoes, who never dated anyone, and now I help the guy on Ajose- Adeogun to pay his school fees.’ What I do for people who come up to me to ask me for help or come up to me to ask me to inspire them is between myself and the person.” 5. 9ice https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/9ice-new-300x291.jpg?9edf6e 9ice sometime in 2013 decided to call out Linda Ikeji and other bloggers collectively when he asked her not to post his music material without his permission. 9ice said: “I will kill… I will fight anybody that dares put my song on the Internet for free!,where was Linda Ikeji when I was out with my first album, Linda Ikeji who are you, I don’t even know her, Linda Ikeji if you are expecting a dime from me, fa fa foul, You pay me before you upload my music.” 6. I did not make Anne Idibia/ Macauley’s dress as you’ve stated in your blog. — Yemi Osunkoya (@YemiKosibah) March 18, 2013 8. Yemi Solade https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Yemi-Solade-7.jpg?9edf6e Popular Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade called out Linda Ikeji after she posted some family photos he shared via his Facebook page. In an interview the actor said: I posted pictures on Facebook and some funny Nigerians began writing stories from my pictures. I have to mention Linda Ikeji. It’s not fair. I don’t know whether she’s married or has children. I posted pictures on my Facebook wall for my contacts alone and Linda is not one of them. I know that national assembly is working on these things; some of them will rot in jail. A guy was picked up not too long ago, I’m sure you know his name. I don’t want to mention his name. He spent time behind bars because he slandered me two years ago on a story he didn’t verify. A big man in the bank had to bring down the hammer on him but I don’t have time for that. 9. Leke Adeboye https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/adeboye-son.jpg?9edf6e In 2013, Linda Ikeji posted a news about Pastor Adeboye’s son’s wife being pregnant and expecting a child. Leke Adeboye who found the news hilarious because at the time she posted the news of the pregnancy, they had already welcomed their child. He took to his twitter page to blast her saying her source was slow. https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/adeboye-son2.png?9edf6e 10. Susan Peters https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/36NG-Susan-Peters-Debunks-Rumor-That-President-Jonathan-Gave-Her-AGN-Funds-01-200x300.jpg?9edf6e In march 2012, Actress Susan Peters and Linda Ikeji fell out over a story Linda shared about her that she didn’t like. Linda wrote an article about Susan Peters acquiring an expensive blackberry phone at the time and this didn’t go well with the actress who in turn lashed back at her. https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/susan-beef.png?9edf6e 11. Pastor Chris Okotie https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Pastor-Chris-Okotie-300x239.jpg?9edf6e Pastor Chris Okotie of the Household of God church wasn’t so pleased with Linda Ikeji in 2013 because of certain stories she posted about him that he didn’t like. The pastor went ahead to reveal that the blogger uses her blog platform to promote satanic agenda through falsehood. In a message sent out by Pastor Okotie’s publicity at the time, read it below: As you read this, a causal remark made by Rev Okotie in response to a parishioner’s question on the propriety of Christians having tattoos was twisted to portray the man of God as endorsing the untoward practice. One Linda Ikeji used her blog to promote this falsehood When a refutal was sent to her, she refused to publish it because invariably it would call to question the credibility of her medium which enjoys considerable following because it is one of those mills whose offering is consumed by the gullible public. In a craze to stay popular on the web and maintain a huge following, bloggers like this often do not bother to ascertain the veracity of stories before publishing. They get away with this professional misconduct because they are not bound by any ethical standard; all they care about is money made from inflicting untold injuries on the integrity of credible citizens. This is the down side of the social media. But ultimately, purveyors of falsehood do not last because conscience is an open wound that only truth can heal. You may fool the people some of the time but you cannot fool them all the time. One day monkey will go to the market and will not return, is a local adage. That should be the consolation for victims of the social media mob like Okotie and others who are suffering in silence .The days of the jackals are surely numbered. 12. Tonto Dikeh https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/tonto-selfie.jpg?9edf6e Actress Tonto Dikeh in her controversial days of no nonsense took a swipe at Linda Ikeji. She took a swipe at blogger Linda Ikeji after Linda posted a Facebook comment on her blog that was reportedly from Dikeh. Tonto Dikeh has now revealed that the Facebook account is fake. She also lashes out at the blogger. See her posts to Linda below; https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/tonto-comment.png?9edf6e Funke Akindele https://www.36ng.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Funke-Akindele-makeup1.jpg?9edf6e Funke Akindele threatened to sue Linda Ikeji if she didn’t delete a story she posted about her under 24 hours in 2015. In the post, Ms. Ikeji suggested that an Instagram picture on Ms. Akindele’s page was intended as a slight on fellow actress, Ms. Aimakhu, who was at that time rumored to have separated from her husband, Adeniyi Johnson. According to Ms. Ikeji, the two actresses had previously fallen out and Ms. Aimakhu had “shaded” Ms. Akindele over the latter’s 2014 divorce. Ms Akindele, through her management, said thanks to Ms. Ikeji’s blog post, she was exposed to “cynical comments and hasty judgements”. “(The post has portrayed) Funke Akindele ’s brand in bad light,” her management said. “It has promoted unhealthy rivalry where there is none.” Linda Ikeji had stop covering news on Funke Akindele since then. Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, says the Federal Government will hunt down the killers of the NYSC member, Samuel Okonta, who was killed during the rerun election in Rivers state last Saturday. Dalung said this while paying a condolence visit to the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi yesterday March 23rd. He berated politicians for always engaging in politics with bitterness. “Politicians aspire to hold public office because they want to develop Nigeria. In doing this, they are talking of protecting the lives of Nigerians. So it is very bad that we cannot conduct an ordinary election without conflict. In the bid to protect our interests, innocent people will lose their lives. If they kill all Nigerians, who do we rule over? Are they going to rule animals?" he said. source http://www.reportnaija.com/2016/03/fg-to-hunt-down-killers-of-nysc-member.html cc lalasticlala
