Please house, how long does it take for my top up to reflect on the stanbic ibtc mutual funds account. Made a top up using my e account number on the 20th
Speaking generally, for most mutual fund managers, any deposit made on a non business day reflects on the next business day. 20th was a holiday so expect it to reflect today all things being equal.
However, if the deposit was made using your ATM card it takes two business days to reflect.

Good traders don't attach sentiments to any stock or to the business of stock trading.

They use chats, fundamentals, news, rumors etc to their advantage with the ultimate aim of making profit.

Is this the best and highest yielding investment package you have for long time
Base on your investment objectives and level of risk this is the best for now. Mind you Abacus is upward bound with the realities in the money market space.

Other funds like the balance fund has higher yield but it's risky because stocks are major underlying assets.

Not looking for something easy.I want option that can easily liquidate to cash at required time.Something I can reinvest the interest and I can be compounding over this years.I have read about fixed income fund and and mmf here.I just want to know which is best for this purpose or any other better option till tb comes around then i could combine the two .I don't want to pick something and now discover thr are better option .I am trying to move my personal savings which include salary deducted from my personal business ,rent deducted from my properties which the business is located, dividend not being reinvested and any others into mmf instead savings account.I want to keep my special account with gt bank as strictly stock account and my other biz account for the various biz's.I need to stop this idea of giving any account no to clients because it is my account for business transactions. Then finally have ATM attached to only my savings account, lol.Sometimes I wonder the use of all this current account that adds not value to my businesses apart from numerous deductions from my money
If you want to make it simple, steady, safe and compounding I will suggest you do Abacus money market fund and pick the reinvest interest option.
You can top up at any interval with any amount.

I know of a client that has been doing Abacus since 2014 and it's cool.

Even if you decide to move the fund any time it's easy.
Just a suggestion.

I sent a mail to your customer care on Monday for funds redemption. The personnel acknowledged my request.

But I haven't received the funds. My previous redemption requests were concluded in less than 10 hours. So this one is unusual.

This morning, I sent another mail and the officer said that they have a glitch with redemption requests.

Please, what does that mean? Advise.
Apologize for the delay.

Yes there was a glitch on the payment platform. It's an IT issue and they are working on it.
It doesn't mean any issue what investors fund. All investments are safe and intact.
The issue will be resolved shortly.

What is the rate now?
For Abacus money market fund rate is 7.76% as at yesterday
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmasoft(m): 8:49am On Jul 07, 2021
Why I will prefer MMF at the current rate to one year Tbills.

If you are following the low risk investment vehicles of recent particurly Tbills and money market fund MMF you will notice it's looking brighter compare to last year.

Some reasons why I will prefer mmf are:

You can start MMF with much lower amount compare to Tbills. With 1,000 you can start investing in Abacus MMF. The least for TBills is 100k.

When rate increases it will not affect already invested funds in Tbills but it does with MMF

You can't top up with Tbills. Top up is very possible with MMF even if you want daily top up.

Terminating before tenor expiration in Tbills comes with penalties. For MMF after just 30 days exit is without penalties.

MMF has other instruments like commercial papers that contributes to its rate.

You can easily automate reinvestment of interest in MMF ie taking advantage of the power of compound interest.

It's the investor that determines MMF tenor hence you can hold MMF as long as you wish no restrictions, Tbills particularly primary auction has fixed tenors 3 months, 6 months or 1 year.

Right now mmf rates is on the rise.

The above are my opinions. Do your due diligence.

Droyal:
Evening everyone please I am trying to fill the edividend mandate for my mum.

I have been able to get some of the docs for the shares she bought back in 2006-2007.

Is the e dividend mandate form all she needs to fill? The securities company she used in buying back then I don't even know if they are still existing. The shares have been lodged in CSCS, I have a printout from 2011.
Some of the companies are not even existing anymore e.g oceanic bank and bank PHB

Secondly I have some shares she bought for me back then but I have gotten married and changed my name legally. How do I go about changing this information so I can also fill the e dividend form with my new name. I also have a printout of the CSCS online showing the shares.
I sent a mail to first registrars and they told me the requirements, but was wondering if all could be done at once instead of moving from one registrar to another.

Thanks so much

cc: emmasoft
Your mum can get her dividend by filling the e-mandate form and submitting to her bank or the registrar if her signature specimen is with the registrar in charge of her shares.

I guess it may not be with them since you said she bought from the floor of NGX.

Way forward: if you confirm that the firm is no longer existing then you need to open a cscs account with another stockbroking firm and you can do that by clicking the link on my signature to open an account with investment one.
While filling the form, write the CHN from the former house on the space provided this will make transfer and dividend collection easier.

After the account is opened, you can now make a transfer of all her shares to investment one. She will be guided through the process and it's seamless.

For the shares she bought from public offer, filling the mandate even without a broker can get her all outstanding dividends provided her signature is with the registrar.

In your own case, I want to assume she also bought the shares through her stockbroking firm that is no longer in existence
that means you need to visit cscs or send mail to ccu@cscs.ng and copy oudeh@cscs.ng that you have a cscs account with your maiden name and you want to do a change of name but that your stockbroking firm is no longer in existence; they will guide you.

Going through the cscs will enable you make the change without going to each registrar one after the other. I'm sure one of the requirements from cscs will be for you to open a cscs account with another stockbroking firm.

Whatever the case be rest assure you will get all your dividend not older than 12 years going by the old law or 6 years for the new law. After the change of name you can fill e-mandate form and get your dividends.

Get my contact from my signature if you need further clarifications.

Okay, thanks.
So will you advice that one should wait till then before buying theses stocks or it safe to buy now?
If you are a long term person you can buy some and average down if price goes down anytime. To qualify for the dividend you don't have to wait till when result is out once you are a shareholder on or before qualification date as stated by the company you are good to go. For zenith and Gtbank at their current prices and if they pay same dividend as in previous year you will get yield of 12% and 10% respectively.

Please when is there 2nd quarter result coming out, i guess we just starting 3rd quarter
By regulatory standards all coys with unaudited quarterly results are expected to release latest one month after the end of a quarter while audited has two months. Full year audited is three months, so expect all banks like Access, GTBank, etc known for interim dividend payment to release their half year audited results latest 31st August 2021.

How will she differentiate the accounts when funding them
As promised, on this I have to get more clarifications from senior officers. From their responses it's not really encouraged by compliance team because the usual thing is one customer per account number/id but here are their responses on how to go about having more than one mutual funds account particularly Abacus:

Officer1: It is possible to open two accounts
We can rename the second one account 2
Or she can open one for her child if there's any and run it like hers

Officer2: Good afternoon, normally compliance frown at such account, if she can fill the account opening form, and write (savings) after her name, it may pass

If you need further discussion on this you can call the toll free line 0800468378636 and request to speak with Oluwatobi or Ismail.
Whatever happens whether filling online form or hardcopy no forget my referral code o to help my ministry.
Thank you.

It's not a bad idea.

Personally even though I have both mutual funds at any given time, I normally reduce my commitment to the fund that is low in rate at a particular time and commit more funds to the one where rate is up provided they both guaranteed my capital and a reasonable interest.

Emma so VGIF at 4.5% p.a int rate is no match for this Abacus right?

Or was the interest repriced at rollover this July?
Currently it's still 4.5% becaus the benchmark SDF has not been reviewed upward.
Another meeting is coming up this July. It might be reviewed then.

For now Abacus rate is higher because the underlying asset particularly Tbills is doing better than previous year.
As at December last year Abacus was less than 1%.
You know this world na turn by turn grin

Actually VGIF has its unique features.

Lovelynife:
Good morning. Please is there any fixed rate for the interest? Please can I know more about it and risk level
Abacus money market fund as the name implies is a MMF.

Principal underlying asset is treasury bills and commercial papers hence there is little or no risk at all. You can only lose money if the country no longer exist.

The interest is daily valued. It's currently 7.28% and it's upward looking base on economic realities right now. Interest can't be fixed because of market forces on Tbills but be rest assured there will always be interest and your capital is gurranteed.

If you are conservative with low risk apitite then Abacus mmf is best for you.

You earn interest daily but it's paid every quarter on the first day of the next quarter ie Jan 1st, April 1st, July 1st, Oct. 1st. You can also give instruction for your interest to be reinvested (compounding) which will be done automatically on those days as mentioned earlier. The one for second quarter was done two days ago (July 1st).

Your capital and interest is guaranteed.

minimum holding period is 30days and initial deposit from 1,000.

Parties to the fund:

Fund manager - investment one
Trustees: United capital trustees ltd.
custodian: citibank
regulator: SEC

You can do everything online- register and monitor your account.

Depositing money is not restricted it can be any amount from 1,000 and at any interval without a specific pattern.
Whenever you invest in the fund, your interest is prorated to cover the period of your investment before the payment date.
That means if you register and invest say 15th September 2021you will be paid interest for 15th to 30th of September for that period and continues till another payment date.

Don't forget to click the link on my signature to register for free that is the only way you can help my ministry. You can also call me. My number is on my signature.

I have checked my account online and seen the interest credited to my VGIF account.
Congratulations to everyone who is compounding their funds.

Please note that during registration for any of the funds particularly VGIF and Abacus, the default option is reinvest interest except otherwise, once it's payment date ie July 1st or January 1st the interest is automatically reinvested for subscribers with that option.

To opt out, you can send a mail to customer care instructing them that going forward your interest should be paid to your registered bank account. If you wish to change your registered account send a mail for update form to make any change but the account must bear your name and tally with your verified BVN.

SEC approval is broad.

SEC approval is different from SEC approval of a fund

Each fund managed by a fund manager must be approved by SEC.

Each fund must have a custodian, trustee, fund manager, registrar, accountant etc.

Each fund equally need a fact sheet that is available to the public and an audited financial account
What oga Emma just posted is a summary of background check you need to do on any fund you wish to invest in before you even check the rate. Any fund no matter who manages it or floats it even a SEC approved firm if it doesn't have all the listed criteria it's still not safe. If you invest in it and anything goes wrong you are own your own. This is from experience.
All mutual fund investors take note.

I also observed a queer behaviour in caverton. The price will open at 1.81, traverse all maner of prices, and close at 1.81, everyday!
I tried to buy it at 1.81 without success for two weeks, until i decided to leave my bid open for a period of two weeks. The bid was probably filled during opening or closing period.
It was as if stock bid and purchase was another human being that was playing a chess game with me!
Please note that those deals you see some of them are cross deals and it will still be reported as buy and sell on the NGX this also influence the stock and market movement.

The movement of stock prices always react to demand and supply but mind you it's traders and investors' attitude that determines the demand and supply; that attitude you may not be able to determine or measure at a particular time. Those observations of yours doesn't mean any manipulation per se.
