TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick:
Thanks, guys.

I picked you my passport today with 6 months visa. This was my second application. My first application came back with a refusal letter with the claim that my fix deposit is in doubt and how I accumulated such wealth.

As advised by justice and co, I addressed that section by providing answers to how I got the money although I have an unregistered business which makes up 70% of my fund, I just told them is it a side business and I provided receipts, invoices and legal commission agreement with the company.
( Note: I addressed my denial on the extra section of the application form and cover letter. Also, note that my employer does not pay money into my account. We receive salaries by hand).

Biometric- 1st July
DMC mail- 15nd July
VAC mail - 17th July
DHL pass- 20th July

6 months Visa issued.

Thanks

Yes. I got the mail yesterday.

seyisanya:
Have you received "pick up" email from VAC regarding UKVI decision?

[q1uote author=Enick post=80318969]

Hi guys,

I just got a mail from the UK now that my application has been concluded and would be despatch soon. Surprisingly, they never called the person who sent me the invitation or my organization to confirm if documents emanated from him. This is very odd. Does this imply a denial ?

I did biometric in Abuja on the 1st July.

Got same email today for application that was submitted (Biometrics) on June 13th. When did u give ur biometric?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 8:25pm On Jul 16, 2019
Thanks. It got me confused because I have never been given a visa before.

Mashaunola:
No. When my mum applied they did not confirm or call my sister in the UK regarding the documents she presented yet she was given the VISA. Although that was not her first application.

If one was denied a visa about 3 years ago at Abuja embassy, does it matter for such an individual to use the same center or he/she can use other location Lagos?

Thanks.

I need urgent help. I can't find the page where I am to upload my document again on TLScontact site..

How do I get back to the page? Please help my appointment is Monday morning and I have to upload them today because it is going to be long distance travel for me.

I have only gotten pre-ordering confirmation and i earlier booked appointment.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 9:07am On Jun 18, 2019
What is the recommended size per document??

giselle237:
Sorry. You should have made sure to check if the size you were uploading was too big or there was another issue before submitting.
The contact email or call service is paid. It is not free. However do what you must to see how you can get this document across
Go to www.gov.uk and look for contact..
You should be looking for something like what I have attached to this answer
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 7:20am On Jun 18, 2019
Usually, TSL will instruct you to make A4 photocopies of all your documents before uploading them. In self- service, do I also make photocopies or just upload the originals without considering if the documents are below A4 size.

Please, help.

giselle237:
U are just going to the intermediary office to submit your fingerprints and photograph. Nobody is asking you nothing there as its not the embassy.
It’s just an office for submission.

You should endeavor to upload online every single document you want to use to prove your case to the visa officer as to why you should be issued a visa as you would not be there to defend yourself... your documents would do the talking.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick:
Hello,

Should I upload original of application document or upload photocopies?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 9:36am On Jun 16, 2019
You can PM me.

shawlar:
Like giselle237 said above, get the company registered, open an account for it and let all revenue of the business be paid into that account. Also let all your receipts, invoices, contracts etc bear the name of your company. That's the only way you can use it as an income source. You CD an also consider paying yourself a fixed monthly income from that company account into your personal account as salary.

NB; I'm interested in venturing into this kind of business also. Can I PM you for more info/tips?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick:
Thanks for your swift and sincere reply.
What the alternative ways of having the visa officer acknowledge an additional source of income?
In fairness, i get so much from that business.
giselle237:
If the business is not registered then how do you want the visa officer to acknowledge it or proceeds from it? not possible
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 12:48pm On Jun 15, 2019
Thanks.
Let assumed I tagged it as a side business, we the ECO consider the sales invoices, receipt and another related document for an additional source of income.?

Considering the fact that it is not registered and does not have a designated business name, it is necessary to mention it?

How would you advice i handle the case ?

oluayebenz:
That is your side business not self employ.......
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 12:42am On Jun 15, 2019
Thanks. I greatly appreciate your reply.

Honestly, you just opened my eyes to the cover letter error. The bank statement i submitted was from 1 Jan to 5 Aug, not June, so it actually beyond 6 months . That was a typo error which the ECO did not capture. Anyway it is all in the past and my focus is now on my next application. cheesy

The deposit was done far back in 2014 at 7% interest and i have never taken a penny out of it. So the current value is at all result of rolled-over profit for years+capital. It is possible to just ignore(never mention) that fixed deposit in my next application because the value has gone higher than what was before due to accumulated interest. huh huh

As for the self-employed section, i submitted receipt of my dealing with the establishment and the trucks registration documents having my name. The business is not register and does not have a designated bank account- it is simply like having cars taking passengers from Lagos to abuja daily and you ask the drivers to come settle you every weekend.

I don't know if "self-employ" is the right word to design such?

Once again, thanks.

giselle237:
From my perspective, you listed the documents you submitted with your application in the cover letter... this is different from explaining to the ECO with step by step evidence of how a salary of 100,000 naira (217 British pounds as at Sep, 2018) and your business were able to turn over to a fixed deposit investment letter/certificate of 6.9m been what you submitted.. That looks like money that is not readily available..

In ur list u also told the ECO you submitted a bank statement from 1st June to August 5,2018. Thats 2months and 5 days bank statement.. How comehuhhuh?
How will they assess you appropriately?

They also stated there were no regular salary deposits... even though ur payslips were acknowledged but no regular salry deposits.... so maybe the 2 months bank statement you submitted no salary deposits came in.. Everything seems confusing sef for me my dear

I feel you need to go back to the drawing board and carefully substantiate how you get your money..

They skipped the part of the self employment... did you submit receipts or invoices or a business account for this other money you said you make to justify what you filled in your application form?

Then pls 2 months bank statement is not enough to assess your financial circumstances and as such what you got is what you asked for.

be careful in the next application... take all the time you need( it could take months), get a healthy application....an application that to a large extent would justify reasons why you should be given a visa. Cover it finally with prayers. You will rejoice soon.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 5:07pm On Jun 14, 2019
Here is the cover letter detailing everything.

You will also see that I also wrote about self-employed/distributor status in the first paragraph.

No. 8 shows all the documents I added to support it. This includes the distributorship agreement, vehicle hire purchase agreement, tenancy agreement for tenants and rent receipts I issued to them.

Again, it baffles me if there is more I have to do or if they even read the letter. You guys can throw some light into this as I plan to apply next week.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 4:51pm On Jun 14, 2019
Attached is my refusal letter and completed the online application form. I clearly ticked Employed/self-employed as they made provisions for that.

In accessing my application, the ECO never mention that section of my application which indicates that i distribute a company's product(Self-Employed) hence he/she query how I could have saved that amount for my monthly salary despite acknowledging that it has been fixed for many years. I provided documents in my cover letter to explain the additional source of income.

The other noticeable observed raised was that my bank statement does not show regular salary payment although the ECO noted that my payslip demonstrate that i am in a regular receipt of a salary. Since I can't force the company to be making bank payment, I included my PAYEE Tax clearance certificate to show that i work for the company and pays taxes to the government.

I maybe wrong with my thought but i believe i did enough in my cover letter to explain things and the ECo not saying anything about the self-employed aspect yet emphasis monthly salary, make me wonder if the cover letter was even read.

giselle237:
Friend, Pls read your refusal letter again... this is a different version of what was posted..

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 7:08am On Jun 14, 2019
This is what i mean with employed and self-employed.

I have a Full time Job with ABC company- I submitted payslip, appointment letter, Payee tax clearance certificate, promotion letters, long service award letters, company introduction letter and annual leave letter.

I have 2 distributing vans supplying another company's product daily, which i tagged as self-employed - To support this, i submitted the distributorship agreement reached between me and the establishment, my trucks papers and hire purchase agreement of another trucks which was finance by the company.

The ECO made a decision that i my expenses is twice higher than my monthly salary and he/she raised concern on how i accumulated so much investment and properties considering my financial status in Nigeria, as my monthly pay would certainly not take me to such level.

Despite submitting those document and explaining them on my cover letter, the ECO never mention anything about the self-employed and the income from that. His/She emphasis was on my monthly salary which is #180,000. So it makes me wonder if they actually takes time to read it or i was just unlucky to get a lazy ECO.

giselle237:
sorry but did you check to see that there was proof in your submitted documents to substantiate every claim in your application and letter?
Well I had 3 deposits in 6 figures each very close to submission which would have definitely marred my application .. In my opinion, if they didn’t acknowledge my letter and see the evidence of the origin of these funds in the supporting documents I had there is no way I would not have been denied.
I wrote it as though I was trying to explain to a 5 year old..

Then how do you mean you are employed by an establishment and also self-employed...
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Enick: 12:27am On Jun 14, 2019
Do ECO actually spend time reading cover letters? In my last application, i stated that I am employed with an establish and also runs a self - employed business. Surprisingly, In taking decision for my last refusal ECO never mention the self-employed rather he/she denied me on the ground.

giselle237:
Remember that if you include the additional income and investments you stated in your last application, provide evidence of them as you were told. Also remember to probide evidence of your monthly income.
feel free to write a detailed cover letter even explaining to the ECO as though you were explaining to a 5 year old so that they may understand all the deposits they queried the last time with PROOF OF ORIGIN OF FUNDS.

I had very huge deposits into my account three weeks to my application in 3 trenches but it was from my spouse...and ORIGIN was my spouse’s salary.. although I was not using this fund as part of my trip... I wrote an 11 page letter to carefully explain each of these deposits and showed their origin and backed with my spouse’s bank statement.. it was clearly shown in this additional bank statement that these deposits were salary which were received and then transferred to me for upkeeping. They were all transfer transactions clearly showing origin for each one.

I also highlighted to the ECO how this has been a norm and not for visa application BY PROVIDING 1 year’s bank statement from my spouse to evidence the way that this was a norm in my household and not because I wanted to apply for a visa.
It was a lengthy 11 page read but I had to do it.
Do you have kids and immediate family members ? You can add supporting evidence to show and prove that they will be in Nigeria during the period of your travel and as such you will return at the expiration of your trip.

Please also include a well thought out itinerary of what you would be doing in the uk during this trip with your wife..
You can also add your tenancy agreement, rent receipts, purchase invoices of property and anything you feel will justify your tie to Nigeria. You cant risk a denial again.
All the best to you and yours!

WHY did you alter your International passport? It's baffling that you have to fraud the most important items of your traveling document despite a series of warning of 10 years ban in this group.

Face your cross because WHAT IS NEXT is mandatory wait for 10years, which is a possible goodbye kiss to the UK or building a life investment in Nigeria and hope your children stand a chance to visit the Uk.

So no other alternative to increase my chance and remove the red flag? It is my company structure and there is nothing I can do about it. Or should I just forget about applying and keeping my money since bank payment is not available?

Hello,

My company pays salaries in cash. This implies that my statement does not have salary payment, so outside my appointment letter, promotion letter, payslip and leave letter which other documents will assist to proof strongly that I work for that company?

Thanks for your reply.

Also, should I remove the cost of accommodation and feeding on the breakdown of my expenses.?

Good morning guru,

I intend applying for a UK visa in July and a friend has already sent me his British passport data page, Invitation, bank statement, tax clearance, and evidence of properties owned, as well as clearly stated in the invitation letter that he will be responsible for my accommodation and feeding.

While I was previously refuse visa a year ago on the ground that the source of my fund is unknown, I hope to address the issues raised for my refusal.

Question?

1. Should the next application be tourist/visiting visa?

2. Although I have a full-time employment, I registered a company with CAC after my first refusal. But I have not opened a company account with the name and all the transaction has been going into my personal account. Do you think it is a wise decision to mention the company?

3. Should I use a fresh document in my next application or use some document from the previous application to address the refusal?

4. Though I wrote an explanation of the fund in my cover letter, I realized the VO did not take his/her time to read through it. This time around, should I write the explanation in the "extra information section of the online application form" or use the cover letter?

5. Can I asterisk what I want to explain in my bank statement?

Without a doubt, I plan to address all issues raised with some evidence. However, I am just wondering if I have to stick with my earlier of tourist reason and ignore my friends request to send invitations as well as provide his bank details for my next application. Better still, would it be preferable to accept his invitation ?

It is possible to change the purpose of visiting from tourism to visiting a friend? I clearly remember I clicked NO on the section that asked if I have a family in the UK. I can't remember anywhere that asked about having friends in the UK.

Thanks.

Zika01:
Why not address the reason for your refusal and apply again. I’m sure you must have declared that u don’t have any family or friend in the Uk. Paste your refusal letter here removing personal details so that the gurus here can help you.
