Business / Re: Naija 419 Are Making Online Business Difficult For Africans by enolase(m): 12:55pm On Jun 03, 2007
You are right MP007.

I recently had cause to make an online payment for someone in another African country via my website at http://www.epaypanel.com.

The transaction was successful, but all the while he was told by his friends that Nigerians are thieves, credit card fraudsters, online scammers, etc. At a point, his confidence was almost shaken.

Now he knows better.

But it is really a problem for us. I wonder how this can be corrected.
Adverts / Partner With Me On A Successful Google Campaign by enolase(m): 12:25pm On Jun 03, 2007
Hello,

I have studied Google AdWords for about two years, and I have identified some very profitable campaigns.

I am therefore pleased to announce to all those who are interested in making money from Google AdWords WITHOUT STRESS to partner with me.

This is what I will do (my own part):

1) I will open a Google AdWords account for you.
2) Setup the profitable campaign on your behalf.
3) Monitor the campaigns.
4) I will pay for the cost of the various software necessary used to source good keywords and track campaigns.

In essence, I will do all the hardwork.

This is what you will do:

1) You must provide the cost of getting a $100 VISA debit card from http://www.epaypanel.com (costs N23,000). This is to be used to pay for the clicks (Google automatically deducts this advertising cost from the card each time your Google ad is clicked on by a page visitor who views your ad).

What is in this for the both of us?

At the end of the campaign, we will split the profits at a ratio of 50% for you, and 50% for me.

Profits from Google campaigns are usually paid in foreign currency (US dollars, Euros), depending on where the campaign is holding, so the potential is enormous.

This is only open to VERY SERIOUS persons who are prepared to follow the terms of the partnership. Please contact me by email: enolase76@gmail.com.

I REPEAT: THIS IS ONLY FOR SERIOUS PERSONS READY TO COMMIT. I will not entertain unserious requests.

The response to this thread has been amazing. I have almost got the 40 persons I was looking for.

Once that number is reached, the next set will be taken, but at a higher subscription price, I can assure you. If you are still undecided, I tell you now is the time to make your move by subscribing to http://www.nairastocks.com.

Cheers people.
Business / Re: UBA PLC: My Complaints by enolase(m): 2:54pm On May 31, 2007
To add to this thread.

A few days back I posted on one on the new UBA ATM policy where withdrawals below N20,000 across the counter attract charges.

Meanwhile, ATM I applied for since Sept 2006 is nowhere to be found.

Instant ATM nko?  Story story story and more stories. Come today, come tomorrow, the teller is not on seat, the lady in charge has gone to the hospital, etc etc etc.

The only thing I am gaining from this bank is their share price increases.

Intercontinental bank is even worse.

You need to go to their Transamadi branch in PH. Highly annoying experience. angry

@all,
Please can someone tell me if he or she has been able to buy skye bank shares recently, my stockbroker has started with the "not available" story again.

Cheexy,

Skye Bank shares are too hot in the market now and are not available.

There are some things you need to know.

Shares are not warehoused. For shares to be available, you have to have people who are willing to sell.

Once no one is willing to sell, the stock is unavailable. Of course, when an investor sees that his stock has great potential for capital appreciation, what reason does he have to sell? ABSOLUTELY NONE!

That is why you need an analyst to tell you when to get into a stock in good time before the institutional investors come and clear it all up on the floor.

If you wait for the results (quarterly or full year) of a company to be released before you decide to enter a stock, then you are too late! tongue

Good stock analysts can read the handwriting on the wall WELL AHEAD OF TIME so as to better advice on a stock pick. In essence, you have to make hay while the sun shines.

Cheers.
Politics / Re: Imagine Fuel At N75 Per Litre by enolase(m): 10:42am On May 29, 2007
What a wonderful way to tell Nigerians bye bye.

Do I also hear that VAT is now 10%?

The issues concerning fuel pricing is clear.

Make your existing refineries work the way they are supposed to, at 100% capacity.

Let other companies come in and build more refineries. They can come to the public and raise funds if possible.

When you have functional refineries that can refine enough to cover local consumption, then importation will stop, and then you will have a competitive market where competition may force prices down.

We all see what has happened in the Telecoms sector. Even though we are still paying high tariffs, they are lower than what they were initially. We are also getting more range of services from the GSM companies.

How feasible this will be when you have some big fish who are very close to the powers that be, making their money from fuel importation is another matter entirely.

Na God handwe dey finally.

In a market where rumuors of bonus drives share prices, Union Bank's re-awakening is not a surprise (rumuors of 1 for 5 bonus).

@ ALL,

THE NEWS IN TOWN NOW IS FIRST BANK I.P.O BUT ON this tread i will like us to be on the look out 4 these following stocks that will hit the market soon please safe money ti invest in these stocks i GUARANTY 500% returns let me assure u that we have the capability in these house to surpase anyblocks with indepth info, of these stocks coming to the market soon:
GUARANTY BANK
ACCESS BANK
COSTAIN WEST AFRICA
OBAJANA, cool cool cool

500% gain for all these stocks? Too ambitious.

COSTAIN is overpriced. The only factor pushing the price is that investors started a massive rush for this stock once it became public that COSTAIN UK had acquired a substantive stake in the company. Look at the volume being traded on a daily basis; tens of thousands of shares daily.

When you have millions chasing this number of shares, what happens? Simple demand and supply comes to play. COSTAIN has been posting losses for some years now, although that of last year is less, signifying that the company is on the road to recovery.

This stock will soon correct itself once profit taking starts.

GUARANTY is a bank with strong fundamentals. They will soon be coming public. Combine this with the bonus shares and you will have a surplus of shares in the market. This is not the year to expect radical price increases for this stock. Increases will be slow and steady.

ACCESS
This is the stock to really gun for. The 3rd quarter earnings has surpassed that of the whole of the last fiscal year. This will translate into their best earnings per share ever and a likelihood of bonus or dividend payment this year. In a market where share prices surge on rumuors of bonus and dividends, this is the stock to make some good money from this year.

OBAJANA
How do I summarise this stock? WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER. Let those with tongues count the teeth in their mouths. tongue

Please what are d current prices of the following shares: UNION,intercontiental, unity, niger cement? is there any way i could verify my CSCS no? the person that bought the shares for me refused to give me the no.

Didyou buy these shares through public offers? If this is the case, then you will not have a CSCS number.

If you bought these from the secondary market (the floor of the NSE), then there is only one thing that is clear:

YOUR BROKER IS DEFINITELY TRADING WITH YOUR MONEY!

It is your fundamental right to demand for your CSCS number so that you can get your statements showing your stock positions.

You will need to tell us more details.

For example, is this"person" a stockbroker? Does he work with a stockbroking firm?

Be informed that there are a number of "third tier" stockbroking firms that are not registered by NSE and who buy shares through other registered firms.

We need more info so as to sort out your problem.

Seun, you are not a thief and no one is trying to insinuate you are one.

All I was trying to say is that people's innovative ideas have to be protected to some extent to prevent their being hijacked by others.

That is why I suggested that the people who are interested in venturing into a particualr business should not have their ideas exposed to the entire world on this forum. Remember the internet is global.

What I am saying is that the forum can serve to bring them together, then the people involved can use a facility like Yahoo messenger conferencing to discuss their plans.

That way, some degree of online protection is achieved.
Religion / Re: I Had A Blood Convenant With My Girlfriend by enolase(m): 11:24am On May 28, 2007
Blood covenants are very powerful, and when your girlfriend says you will run mad if you sleep with another girl, believe me: IT WILL HAPPEN! cry

Not just that. The consequences of blood covenants run in generations.

It is absolutely foolish to even think of going to a babalawo. You will surely be digging your own grave.

It is not just enough to get born again, because you are still what the Bible refers to in the Book of Isaiah as "a legal captive".

The power of that covenant can only be broken by a prophetic declaration of a very powerful pastor in the Name of the One whose Blood was shed as a receipt the NEW Covenant, Jesus Christ.

Let me be very honest with you. Do not fool around. If you want to avoid some VERY UNPLEASANT things in your life and that of your children and children's children yet unborn, you have to either marry this girl as you have sworn to do and sealed with your blood and hers, or you go and get yourself released.

There is nothing like shame here, because your life is at stake.

A lot of nasty things have happened in families because of things like this: UNTIMELY DEATH, GENERATIONAL AND FAMILIAL ILLNESSES, STAGNATION IN LIFE, POVERTY, ETC.

The worst is that these things continue down to generation even when the principal people involved are dead and buried.

Men, this is serious and should be treated as such.

Business / Re: How Do You Know When To Buy And Sell Stocks In Secondary Issue by enolase(m): 2:56pm On May 27, 2007
What you need is a stock analyst. I offer this service on subscription basis at http://www.nairastocks.com

My personal experience has shown that many brokers do not know how to analyze stocks. They simply make buying and selling decisions based on market and personal sentiments. Whether you win or lose, they collect their commissions.

A broker had made a relation of mine lose close to N150,000. I came in and remedied that situation by selling that stock at a loss and putting the money in another stock that not only covered the loss, but made more money on top. That initial losing stock has not made any appreciable progress in the last 18 months! shocked (See the story on http://www.nairastocks.com)

Trading stocks (buying low, selling high) or speculating stocks is where the money in the stock market is, not buying long term and waiting for bonus or dividend.

Let me illustrate this.

A client of mine had 70,000 units of NAHCO. He called me to find out whether to sell this stock, or hold it and await the three for two bonus and 30 kobo dividend that had already been announced. I told him to sell, based on a simple calculation:

The choice was between these:

Sell 70,000 units of NAHCO at =N=70 (the price then) = N4.9 million. Remove commission charges, and that comes to N4.7 million.

                                         OR

Hold 70,000 units; get three for two bonus (that is 3 X 70,000 units/2 =105,000 units). Total after markdown =175,000 units. Get 30 kobo dividend per share (N0.30 X 175,000 = =N=21,000).

NAHCO was marked down eventually to N26 per share. Therefore, worth of shares after markdown = 175,000 units X =N=26 = N4.5 million. Add value of dividend (N21,000)
Total is now N4.521 million.

Now subtract this figure from the pre-markdown figure, i.e. N4.7million - N4.521million = N179,000.

So by holding on to this stock, a guy with 70,000 units will lose =N=179,000.

Now at the time, I did not know the mark-down level, but after using his holdings to calculate his breakeven point using several possible mark-down prices, I asked him to sell, which he did, and the above calculation is how it all worked out.

I advised him to re-enter the stock after it had initially got down to a low of N26. He re-entered at =N=29.00. This stock is currently N36.69 and will still rally before the intended public offer comes up.

This is what you will get from someone with a sound knowledge of how to analyze stocks and how to maximize gains from them. You will hardly get this from brokers, especially if you are a small player who doesn't bring in millions.

That is why I set up http://www.nairastocks.com, so that the ordinary Nigerian can take advantage of the opportunities that are found on the NSE.

That is exactly how to maximize your gains from stocks.

So if you need to know when to buy or sell, subscribe to http://www.nairastocks.com. You will get the following services:

1) Stock buying and selling decisions
2) What to do with public offers
3) How to Make Your Share Certificates Functional
4) How to benefit from private placements
5) Get access to a whole lot of insider information you may never get elsewhere, among others.

Business / Are All These bank Charges Necessary? by enolase(m): 4:02pm On May 26, 2007
Please can someone help me expalin why Nigerian banks are fond of introducing all sorts of charges under different guises.

An example:

I strolled into UBA 2 days ago to transact some business, only to meet a sign that was displayed conspicuosly in several corners to the effect that from June 1, all transactions below N20,000 MUST be done via an ATM card, and that any such transaction done on the counter would attract a N50 fine.

Now I applied for an ATM card in September last year, and up till now, I am yet to get it. The bank staff have not been helpful either, as they are unwilling to tell me what has become of the ATM card. Rather they refer people to some outdated list of those who have received theirs.

Now on trying to get an instant ATM, I am being tossed from one branch to the other. At the last branch I went to, the guy I met at the customer service desk rudely told me without even looking up from his computer screen (was he trying to form being busy or what?  ) to go to my branch and make the inquiry.  angry

How annoying. The worst part is that this fellow is probably my age mate. Ten years ago when I was younger and more hot-blooded, I would have yanked him off his chair and gotten a satisfactory answer!

In this era of online banking, is it necessary for one to have to go to his branch to get the necessary attention?

Is this arbitrary charge even legal, knowing fully well that there are times those machines are offline and one would then need to make such withdrawals over the counter.

I have an Ethiopian friend who was shocked when I told him the amount of money banks charge as commissions for bank wire transfers. He even informed me that banks in Ethiopia do not charge COTs.

My fellow Nairalanders, are these arbitrarily imposed charges necessary? Are they even legal?

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD A BANK CHARGE YOU MONEY TO WITHDRAW YOUR OWN MONEY? ARE BANK TELLERS NOT PAID TO ATTEND TO CUSTOMERS?

Reactions are welcome!

Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by enolase(m): 12:07pm On May 25, 2007
With reference to Zenith Bank:

One of my clients asked about the fate of this stock:

My answer: This stock is not overpriced, pure and simple!

It is simply experiencing a lull because investors have their attention elsewhere.

Zenith Bank in the last quarterly result released to the market, had a fantastic increase in earnings per share, and this is still expected to increase at the end of the financial year.

Implication: in a market where rumuors of dividends and bonus issues drive share prices to record levels, a good earnings per share by a quoted company makes payment of dividends or bonus issues a strong probability. It also boosts investor confidence, leading to scramble for the shares at the appropriate time.

Please if you have Zenith Bank shares, hold them.

If you want to buy, this is the best time, because when it starts its price rally, it may go out of reach of many of you, or will be snapped up by institutional investors (who buy very large quantities) and then they will be unavailable.

Oceanic bank
To the guy who bought just 1,000 units of Oceanic bank, I have to tell you that you have missed out on a great opportunity to become really rich.

Analysis for Oceanic Bank

The subsidiaries of this bank are very viable and are doing very well. The bank itself is doing very well in terms of earnings and profitablity, and will increase its earnings per share this financial year. It is also positioning itself for the future by getting into joint ventures with Merryll Lynch and other financial bodies. These partnerships will enable the bank to get more profitable business and improve its financial position.

Then take a look at the volumes being crossed even now that the stock is still on technical suspension. You can see that it is only trading hundreds of thousands of shares, meaning that the stock is presently VERY SCARCE. The scarcity will even get worse when the suspension is lifted, because no current investors will be willing to sell.

ALl these factors will drive the share price of Oceanic Bank to DOUBLE the current value of N19.53.

This is another DANGSUGAR-like stock in the making.

UBA
For exactly the same reasons above, and by the strength of its current earning per share (which is even stronger than that of Zenith Bank), UBA will meet up with Zenith's share price and even overtake it possibly. UBA's shares are so scarce that it is even easier to wring water from a rock than get hold of UBA shares right now.

The Bible says that those who sow sparingly shall reap sparingly. It is very true even in the Stock Market.

Anyone who wants to reap very well from these hot stocks has to buy heavily, even if you have to borrow.

Guess what? Do you know that the wealthy borrow money to fund their projects, even stock acquisitions? They hardly use their money. shocked

Such in-depth analysis is what you get from my stock subscription site at http://www.nairastocks.com. I will keep you posted from time to time.

honeydrop:

@enolase,your view is good but yr billing system is bad,y nt get paid after the deal not before the deal/thats the only thing dt can make mee join u

Noted. That is why clients are paying in instalments at a stretch. That way, their investments have enough time to make the required returns on investment, from where they can renew their subscriptions.

I do not charge percentages for buying or selling of my client's shares. Besides, =N=15,000 for three months is a very small amount compared to the returns that my clients will make within that time.

A stock I took my clients into has already made a N2.00 per share appreciation  (a roughly 30% ROI in just three weeks) from the time I introduced it to my clients. I have made about =N=400,000 from this stock already, and the share price will still move a lot higher (I am talking of 100% appreciation) on the strength of a managerial decision that will take place very soon.

After analysing this stock for my pastor, he got roughly 100,000 units of this through his broker. He has made N2.18 gain per share in twenty trading days.

Now compare the potential returns of investment within the three months that clients will pay just N15,000.

So that's it. A popular internet marketer once said that the only limitations we have is the ones we put on ourselves.

The NSE is a money-making system that is already in place. Only those who are serious enough to seize opportunities that present themselves without resorting to excuses will make it there.

So if your excuse is that you do not agree with my billing system, well, that is your own cup of tea.

Recall Pareto's principle: 20% of the world's population control 80% of the earth's resources, while 80% of the world's population struggle for the remaining 20% of the earth's resources.

Warren Buffet made his money from stock trading, so did Roman Abramovich (before he went into oil and gas) and a host of others. Most of Bill Gates fortune is amassed in his controlling shares in Microsoft, so also is Paul Allen the co-founder of Microsoft who is the world's 6th richest man.

There is hardly any rich man in the world whose wealth has not had something to do with the stock market.

So my dear, your excuse is not very tenable. Cheers.  kiss

But having lived in US for that long, she should have known what the law says concerning such things, especially now that the US govt is cracking down on money laundering as part of the law against terrorism.

Personally I can't see myself putting such money in the American economy. I would have put that money in the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
