Back to your response, lots of women married their husband when they had nothing during our mothers time and majority are still poor till this very moment. Also, you wouldn't compare Men of that time to the kind of men we have today. Likewise you wouldn't compare women of that time to the kind of women we have today.

If you as a man is poor and looking for one innocent girl to marry in today Nigeria then you're wicked. Obviously you don't love the girl. No matter how you sugarcoat anything you cannot overemphasise the importance of money in marriage.

My believe, as a man you need to be up and going with stable source of income before even considering marriage. I didn't mean you should be rich but have a stable source of income. Have your own house (rented or owned) and be mentally ready for marriage.

Our mothers didn't marry rich men during their time but not jobless men who couldn't provide for the family. The men were responsible, paid their bride price, not demanding for sex from women unlike today men and very much committed to marriage. Some of our fathers helped their wife to be family in the farm and other chores to show how responsible and committed he was in marrying their daughter.

Besides, you wouldn't compare cost of living then to what we have today in Nigeria.

Don't be decieve bro, MONEY is extremely vital in marriage. You'll lose your dignity and respect as a Man going into marriage without stable source of income. If you're looking for woman to share bills with, will you also carry pregnancy for her throughout 9 months and risk your life in labour?
I am not saying women shouldn't support in marriage provided she has something doing.

These women are getting married every Saturday to men like you and i. Although, what may differ could be finances.

Poor men also are getting married na. I have neighbours living in self contain apartment with less than 100k salary and they're married with kid. There is always someone for you.
