FreeStuffsNG: If you generate electricity and can't get the SW states consumer market, you are playing with debts that may make you fold up
The largest power generation plant is in Lagos, Egbin. This is a direct competition against them yet Egbin is just few kilometres away in Ikorodu. Those in wherever do not have chances niyen. Consumers want the cheapest, if you bring electricity from afar, it adds to the cost. Lagos, Ogun, Oyo are the biggest consumers.
It makes no business sense for the consumers in VI or Ikeja to pay for cost of shipping electricity from Ikorodu let alone faraway wherever outside Lagos. This was why Asiwaju then as Governor in 2000 protested against the needless wastage! There are existing lines to them places, so what new investments in line are you talking about or you forget we have a national grid, What I think you are trying to say is step down power at point of generation then excess to national grid right? |
Politics › Re: '$50m Power Plant In Lagos’ll Drive Economic Growth’ by erico2k2(m): 9:01pm On Jul 17, 2023 |
FreeStuffsNG: I saw this coming
It makes no sense for power generation plants to be far away and gencos now need to spend billions to ship it to Lagos then transfer the cost to consumers when you can have the generation plants near to the discos and consumers without such costs. Expect more of this huge investment in all the value chains and consumers can now have multiple options of service providers like GSM. The Gencos are up for serious competition and maybe outcompeted.
Transmission Company of Nigeria ( TCN) may be the biggest loser.
In all, once again, this is the best time to invest in Yorubaland. God bless Nigeria for ever! You seem to forget , They can join national grid from anywhere in the country and if you think otherwise, those states with two power plants or more might put thier feet down ie Delta state??/ |

iyke2frankeze: So the forex traders do not trade in Naira according to your blond argument? To your question Naira trade locally. If you want to experiment this, carry physical N1million to the UK or Brazil see if you get a buyer. You are calling my argument Blond, it would be more realistic for you to stick more to them things you know, Do you have any Idea it is to repatriate ones money in Nigeria back to the west?. I will xplainone last time if u dnt Gerritt well U know what to do. The 3rd party remit coys down here only sees ££££ and the 3rd party agents in Nigeria only sees Naira no £££££.however if you want ££££ wen U get here you can pay the agent in Nigeria naira and receive £££ here in the UK or USA. But there is another black market to this where $$$ are moved in bulk to Nigeria physically, even Aboki trade online for $$$$ this days my nice had to sell her $$$$ via online platform in her bank and Aboki transferred the naira equivalent to her account that was the only way she could withdraw $5000, it was even the bank that directed her to the aboki sitting outside. |

004gist: I should stope blaming the government for everything? how you have not seen the frustration we have faced with this form A.
first they asked us to submit it and fund account they will debit it in 3 months but they failed.
then they issued directive for us to go get Tax clearance of 3 years which we did. some spent 250k to get this from respective states. only two weeks they said everything has increased to 900 to 1000 from 560. and even at that they can't guarantee to give forex subject to when they receive.
i have begged my bank to allow me buy from black market n deposit since May.. they said if I buy it like that it's against banking policy. majority of the money I paid had to be sent from abroad.. about 99% except charges n few remainder
will i talk about renewal of passport? that one I spent 85k bribes everywhere.
last week I travelled from East to do a compulsory medical test in Abuja.. only on transport I spent 55 thousand naira going 24k n coming 31k.
if there is job in this country will I be traveling out to areas I don't know? since almost 10 years I graduated where is the work?
What has improved? if not that I now had to learn skills in programming to work outside using foreign platforms maybe hunger for don kill'me and family.
I blame the government for everything. Ofcos I agree with you, BLAME THE DAMNNN GOVERNMENT. |

iyke2frankeze: How do forex traders make profit? You simply buy a currency that is going down in value and sell it when it starts going up. As soon as Peter Obi enters office, the value of Naira will jump up and they will sell back the Naira, making higher dollar and pounds. haha that's funny cos last time I checked no one buys Nigerian currency xcept Nigerians as we got nothing to xport, the go to currency is the green back. It would have worked the way you described if all we do is go abroad and use our Nigerian ATM card. This will only happen if the Banks in Nigeria steps in and trade fairly but we both know that will never ever happen this year I had a Job to do in Brazil, for two weeks plus I took two weeks Holiday (Why not) I saw something I liked for$3000, now I had money in Nigeria but not my UK bank, so I had to ask an Agent in the Uk to sell me his ££££ in the Uk so I can transfer naira to any of his Nigerian customer and that's how I managed to buy the stuff with my ££ debit card.,Now we are not the oly ones going fru this in Africa, And in what's name do you think Peter Obi will make this massive financial magic? this was how one prophet says he can sort Nigerians Electric worse in 6 months, 9 months later we are worse off |

Investors and exporters are swarming the economy, you are still living in mirage of complain as a young man. Get a product or trade to invest and look for a mentor in the field. Start small with consistency and good character, you'll get there. Write your own story and your family's, all those politicians are writing theirs and their family stories not yours.
We are amazing people who allows the ethnic bug bite us. Only politicians who are bankrupt of ideas on nation building use religion and ethnicity to divide people and keep them poor and bitter. FYI, you are speaking to a person who schooled and have lived in the Uk for 23 years, You think I started today, I paid my own school fess here during my time and it was a damn hard Job then. This was how one jobless youth on here was thinking By me sending money direct to my Nigerian account was me sending forex to Nigeria, the Answer is capital NO.If you by any means send raw forex to Nigeria you will lose its value, you will sell at a loss. I asked someone on here why do I need to send forex to Nigeria when we do not trade i n $$ or ££ i n Nigeria, they came with the lame defence of throwing abuse. If I need forex anywhere i n the world all I need is my Bank card which is Barclays, it works anywhere in the world and no limit, However if I need Money in Nigeria all I need do is transfer my pounds to my 9ja bank account via 3rd party remitting company, they charge for their transfer fees and deposit naira to my account at the highest rate. Today £ is 1075.The remittance/Agent name I use these days is WSLRemit.SO m y Forex ends at their account here in the Uk not Nigeria. Thier Canta part or partners in Nigeria pay me in Naira, and this is how the Politicians and those in the Know Lunder Monies from Nigeria to the west, but its legit in the eyes of the law as these coy pay taxes in the UK.I have been Remitting money to Nigeria for more than 22 years so I think I know what Im talking about and as for Investment in NIgeria, Please come to the property and Auto section of Naira land where real men talk and lets talk there we have loads of people from all over the world investing on there not this Tom and jerry page. |

sunboy: It’s one thing for forex to be available (this will attract investors and bring more flow, remember Emirate? That’s why they stop flying to Nigeria maybe they’d come back now)
Naira getting to 815 is another thing, naira is taking its true value, and not the artificial rate Buhari and Emefiele forcefully kept at 480 that made their friends stupendously rich. Now naira it’s taking its real value. That’s one step!
Next step is to improve our exports and that will help balance out trade which in turn make naira appreciate and that 815 will even drop in the long term if this government follow through on their campaign promise.
It won’t happen overnight, Buhari didn’t ruin naira overnight! Thank you Howmany people do U think sends physical $$$$ to Nigeria?if I wire money to Nigerian via my app I get the naira equivalent on the day direct to my Nigerian bank account.so what are you saying? |
