SportsRe: Ivory Coast Are AFCON 2023 Champions by etrange:
Lol... Nigerians, the best line of action now is to go online and congratulate the winners. Show sportsmanship and let them know it was fun while it lasted. Anything short of this would make us look like big babies.

Now a Prophet? 🤔

BTW, which one is Ivory coast will go home with the Cup?

Go home to Where? 😕😄
Same here. The Ebube Muonso I know is a catholic priest. Maybe this is another person that goes by the same sobriquet.
FamilyRe: New To The UK Looking For Nigerian Friends In Nottingham by etrange: 3:34am On Feb 09, 2024
PoliteActivist:
*Politeness*
Irritating how?! I'm only asking simple innocent questions. Why would anyone want to friend some eager JJC from Nigeria with all sorts of warped ideas and expectations, not to talk of affectations?
Just an innocent, polite question!
There are a lot Nigerians and other Africans out there who are eager to establish connection with other people from Africa; people who understand thier jokes, food, accent, culture, etc. They want to have people to hang out with. Sadly, the environment/culture doesn't encourage casual encounters (even though that might works for some). However, The OP can meet such people anywhere including Nairaland. It has nothing to do with being JJC, this isn't a secondary school school with juniors and seniors. Even if it was, they'd still be other "JJC's" looking to make friends. If you're not in the UK or you are but not interested in being friends with this JJC, just ignore.

OP, in addition to whatever you are already doing, I also suggest you find and join Nigerian cultural groups or go to a Nigerian church (if you're a Christian). Another great option is use meetup. Find a group on the app and attend events. Most importantly, stay open to the idea of making friends with people from other countries. You may not be actively looking for them, but if the opportunity comes, give it a chance. My closest friends are not Nigerians, and they're all great people.

Good luck.

Kukutenla:
Yam is native to Africa
Ironically, it is more expensive than Irish potatoes per kg
Yam is native to Africa, Asia and some parts of the Americas (mostly the south). The name generally refers to a wide range of species, so each of these regions have thier own types. For some reasons, the Ghanaian yellow yam are more easily found in Africa supermarkets abroad.

Congo DC has good players.

Football is no longer by name or the team.

It's intelligence and team work. Congo DC has that.
It has always been intelligence, skills and teamwork. It's just that certain teams had these in abundance before unlike now.

I liked this comment. They're always here calling them super chickens and mocking those who are showing report, but if the team wins, they will be the first to go on Twitter to troll over countries. Just see how these guys welcomed thier team unlike the fairweather fans on here that claim they love sports and yet have zero sportsmanship.

The best team lost.

Thank God we are not going to face Cape Verde. That team is the best in this tournament.
No, sir. A good team is a well rounded team. CV cannot be said to be the better team when their penalty skills are non existent. SA played well enough not to concede any goal during regulation time (proving CA isn't necessarily better) but most importantly, they showed they're better at penalties than CA. So yeah, I think the better team won.

Why is there no white in the South african team? Racism.
You asked and you answered yourself because you already had a preconceived mindset. Many South African whites place other sports ahead of football. That might be the reason they don't have a representation in the country's football team.

Sometimes you don't know whether to regret being a Nigerian, because it is usually one obvious crime or the other..

Not just the government, Nigerians also contribute to the rules getting stricter everyday, by the foreign embassies in Nigeria...
This has nothing to do with Nigeria. Y'all easily fall for these sensationalized headlines. This applies to all foreign students.

Whoa. Aren't Nigerians also international students? So why the sensationalism eh.
Nigerians like to make everything about them and it's draining. Once another country updates thier immigration or education policy, you'd see headlines everywhere in Nigeria infusing ourselves into it.

All this Guinea countries were one before they decide to go separate. Nigeria must emulate them if we will progress beyond this rubbish we have today.
Bro, it's funny how you just cook up something in your head and start posting it online. At what point did the guinea countries decide to be independent countries? Do you even know anything about the history of the guinea region in Africa? Do you know there's a 4th guinea country outside Africa? I'm sure you have no idea what these countries have in common. Being ignorant is bad enough, spreading it is just terrible
