Blue3k:True,though I agree with the IMF that more needs to be done in terms of corporate tax, there are tens of thousands of companies evading tax in Nigeria, many of them are even unregistered; with an improved corporate tax system,we can double or triple our inland revenue. |
@777philosopher,a lot of funding is needed for such a massive project. Many african nations do not take military development seriously, probably because of poverty and struggling economy, but I think military development can be made into an opportunity for earning foreign exchange. |
Well,a lot of concessions have to be made, especially the airports and refineries. Chinese,AfDB and world bank loans will also need to be approved. To finance the ERGP,we will need at least $50bn. |
The Senate should not have invited him for investigation while a concurrent investigative panel had been set up by the President. They should have at least waited for the Presidential panel to conclude their own investigation, before inviting him again. |
Dgunnerz:1.Kiss and lick sensitive parts; behind the ears,neck,ni_pples etc 2.Give a blow_job 3.Use lubricant or grease, start by inserting a finger into the anus,it would obviously be a painful process initially but it gets ecstasic when you find the prostate(or so I have heard) 4.Keep jerking or sucking the penis while inserting the finger, then increase the number of digit to two or three and widen the anus. 5.Ensure that you apply lube or grease to your penis. 6.Insert your manhood slowly till it enters completely. 7.Keep a rhythm of thrusting and unthrusting gently till both of you get comfortable and the pain reduces, pleasure kicks in.You can keep jerking him off while you thrust. 8.Enjoy yourselves. . . . . I hope this is what you wanted to hear. |
Of course there are quite a number of intelligent and highly cerebral youths who have great political ideas in Nigeria,I have my own ideas too.The problems are: 1.The system favours those of a certain age and affluence. 2.There is lack of coordination even amongst like minded people. 3.The society only recognizes people with advanced years as experienced or wise(probably due to culture or dogma) 4.The society is monetized, even the electorates expect the materials things that can be offered by politicians prior to elections, instead of examining their blueprints. |
Egypt is more powerful militarily than both, but significantly less stable and democratic. South Africa is more stable and has a more advanced economy, government and infrastructure system. Nigeria has the biggest economy and population. The thing is,Egypt will likely never be a superpower in Africa,it is more of an arab country, and therefore more concerned with the middle-east. South Africa is mostly disinterested in Pan-African politics, except when it is directly affected. That leaves Nigeria. |
Nothing wrong with the SGs owning mining giants,so far it is in JV with private investors who would be the ones running the industry. The state government can provide a platform, fund, and infrastructure,as well as be a regulator if they own a controlling stake in mining industry. |
Blue3k:Really,I see nothing wrong in state governments operating mining companies(in joint venture with private investors, who would be the real experts and industry drivers, but the SGs owning a controlling share, say 30-40%); that way, there would be regulation of the industry and more revenue would be generated for them aside the 13% derivative. |
Blue3k:The problem with states investing in the mining sector is that mining requires long term commitment and a lot of infrastructure; state governors either do not have the political will or they have limited time to conclude such plans,so they dont even venture into it at all(afterall, the people always clamour for visible results, not blueprints, and the governors will always tow the line of political correctness). |
alBHAGDADI:It has nothing to do with God,it all about occupation and ethnicity. Its a war between arabs and jews. |
alBHAGDADI:*Sigh* This is quite simple, type Palestine on google, you will get enough materials to read and enlighten yourself, instead of displaying ignorance here. Palestine is/was originally a vast region of Asia minor, where the present day Israel,Jordan,Syria,Iraq,Lebanon and Iran are located. The present day Islamic republic of palestine is simply adapting the name of what was once the whole region. As for the question,Palestine owned the land by geographical dispersal, they probably encroached on it when it was empty and unhabited. |
alBHAGDADI:Palestine is a geographical location,a large portion of the region of Asia minor was known as the palestine valley.Google is your friend, read up on that. Who gave Abraham that land? |
It is disturbing how some people flirt with fanaticism. Lets look at it logically, shall we?.When the Israelites were freed from Egypt, they journeyed into Palestine and sought to settle in the "promised land"; of course, the kings of the palestinian nations were not amused by the antics of a strange people who claimed to be led by an equally strange God wandering out of the wilderness straight to their doorstep, demanding that they open their gates for them to pass through and settle. A series of wars broke out,the Israelites crushed the Palestinians and took their land, only the Philistines remained potent. Fast foward to 2017,the arabs are against the Israelites for what they percieve as an illegal land grab, the occupation of jerusalem and the oppression of palestine. Now,can you tell me,in all this story, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? |
Stewie101:Not all theists are fanatics. |
RESULT SO FAR:
Atheist: 3
Agnostic: 1
Theist: 0 |
Stewie101:I deduce that you are a NO,no? |
Blue3k:Thats wicked!....thanks |
Blue3k:Survey monkey?,never heard of it.... |
This thread is to investigate the percentage of nairaland users who are theist, agnostic and athiest.Nairaland being Nigeria's/Africa's largest internet forum. So,its a public poll, and every nairaland user is invited; If you are Christian,Muslim,Judaist,Buddhist,Eckanker,Druze etc, reply with "YES". If you are agnostic or indifferent, reply with "NEITHER". If you are Athiest, reply with "NO". . . This poll is for research purposes, and could be used as a point of reference for religious debates anywhere in the world. This is also to ascertain the evolution of athiesm and agnostism among Nigerians using social media. RULES: 1.Multiple voting is not allowed. 2.If caught attempting to vote using alternate monickers, such person's vote will be invalidated and he/she will be reported to the Mods. 3.No bashing or insultive jabs; factual arguements are welcome. 4.Do not attempt to cajole others into voting for your preferred category. Some people believe that the very existence of the universe is a parody of the eternal conflict that continues to rage between God and Satan, this conflict supposedly takes place in the spiritual realm and humans can key into the murky waters of celestial politics by dabbling into the supernatural; hence, the use of witchcraft, sorcery, mysticism,"holy spirit"/religion and subtle parapsycology has been explored by humanity to address critical issues of life. Though athiests,by virtue of intellectual examination, have been quite vehement in dismissing such an idea, seeing it as gaseous and illogical. This brings me to my question,do athiests believe that the supernatural or paranormal exist?,for example,do they believe that juju(charm) and sorcery exist?. If yes, then doesnt that mean that there is a God or gods and Satan?. I'm curious. |
Its a good thing that he is at least re-investing his loot in Nigeria, better than just locking it all up in a swiss vault. |
Nice development, this is the kind of budgets we want to see.I hope the budget gets 100% implementation. |
Blue3k:Of course,it would be through sponsorship of secessionists.I agree that the same tactic can be used against us,and that is why we cannot do such a thing now. For Nigeria to start participating actively in international politics,we need to first put our house in order, hammer out a system that works for us and unify our people. If not,we'd be torn apart by enemies; more homogenous nations than us have been dismantled from within in the past. |
Bekwarra:You and I have woken up to what is happening at least. We may be few,but its a process. |
The society lacks proper orientation, hence, even the few youths who are now waking up to the game are not even recognized by the larger society. But I believe it is a process, there will come a time where the minority will get power and the majority will have no choice but to key in. |
The FG should set up public ranches in states where the cattle population is high. It is highly embarrassing when rampaging cattle cause traffic on our highways, and there are even health implications, with the possible outbreak of tripanosomiasis(sleeping sickness) or pleuropneumonia, especially with untreated cattle trotting around among congested human population. The insurgency angle must also be considered too,if the situation deteriorates,we'd have a huge humanitarian crisis on our hands. |
Blue3k:If Nigeria were to be a stable active country itself,we'd have been plotting ways to remove Paul Biya and Idris Debby of Chad by now.I normally have no problem with dictators that are visionary and nationalist, but those two men are corrupt dictators and most importantly, they are core france loyalists, hence,a threat to us. Someone who is friendly toward us and who will foster integration between anglophone and francophone should be installed. Infact,we could get a agreement signed with a new friendly government that would see the bakassi peninsula conceded back to us. |
Restricting internet connectivity is an effective way of stopping protests(that could potentially turn violent) and preventing leak or spread of sensitive information. However,it is a violation of the democratic rights of citizens for any government to outrightly enforce an internet blackout; instead, the issue of threat to national security could be tackled by using extensive propaganda,transparency,dialogue/social palliatives and projection of force(as a last resort). |
Interesting thread. |
The Emirate should prove itself innocent. But according to the report,"...a sum of In any case,if the emirate can prove its innocence,it would further cement its current soaring reputation as a sociopolitical activist. |
papaejima1:Same reason why Obasanjo starved the military of funding, this "kill others because they are better" mentality is most common among africans. It is sad to note that except the Shehu Shagari's massive military armament acquisition programme,no other administration has taken military development seriously, not even with the Boko Haram,Niger Delta, and Biafra threats, until the day a foreign country drops a bomb on aso rock. |
