In that context, he could be. But Islam as the religion we know today began after Christianity. Abi Islam the religion start before dem write Quran? cheesy
One could argue that Islam as a religion started way before Christianity; the concept of One God and paying obeisance to him(which is what islam entails) had been practiced millenia before Christ was born; Mohammed and the quran came only to institutionalize and evangelize it.
In any case,it matters not which religion came first.I think jesus just worshipped God the way he deemed right.

Typically what happens nowadays....I once sat down and listened to a pastor claim that he broke his ancestral curse at midnight and got houses and cars immediately the next morning.
Some will "speak in tongues" and people will fall and roll around, but in the end, nothing is observed, except scattered chairs and sweating ushers struggling to restrain convulsing members who are under the "spirit".

Christianity Etc › Re: What Religion Did Jesus Practice? by EVarn(m): 9:39am On Apr 23, 2017
I would say Jesus practiced a reformed kind of judaism; he was against the legalistic traditions that had been added to the original law of God by the religious leaders and the corruption in the clergy. He sought to spread the word of God to the gentiles, unlike the elitist cult that existed in those days.
Christianity came as a result of his followers wanting to emulate his lifestyle and ideology.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Religion Did Jesus Practice? by EVarn(m): 9:30am On Apr 23, 2017
ThankYouGod:
Jesus practised Islam.
Hmm....Islam means "those who submit(to God)",so perhaps you are right.

Christianity predates Islam and Christianity began after that Jew's death. Islam is Christianity's spoilt younger sibling.

Nice,I hope it came fully equipped with all the weapon systems and radar.
When will we start trying to make ours?,NAF should partner with DENEL on the Rooivalk.

Believe me bro, there is no drive!
With the budget for military R&grin, we can even poach or steal/attract competent foreign engineers amd technicians who can bring in the much needed expertise and leap frog nation into the modern age.
Imagine a scenario where overseas secondary school students are using advanced equipment to analyse the compositions of foodstuffs and sequencing DNA while in Nigeria we are drawing butterflies and grasshoppers. undecided undecided huh

Same thing in every sector of this nation.
Quota system won't allow innovation and drive.
Mismanagement and refusal to bring in technocrats and allow them to work without political interference has stifled Nigeria for so long.
Nigeria should have foreign military bases with strategic hardwares positioned all over Africa and have economic treaties with other African nations by now,if we had managed our political system well since 1960.We should be challanging US/France dominance in Africa by now!.
Politics › Re: Rat Trained by EFCC to Recover Stolen Money by EVarn(m): 8:27am On Apr 23, 2017
Nice innovation....more rats should be trained for the job,all hands or paws(in the case of rats) must be on deck to combat the corruption in high places.
I particularly like the way we harness animal instincts for specific roles.Keep it up EFCC.

In 2017huh
In 1967, during the civil war, Igbos built weapons that far outclassed these rubbish with even bare hands.

Sad.
Nigeria should have employed all the military engineers that worked for the defunct rogue state Biafra. We should have built on the successes achieved, especially during the time of Gowon when Nigeria had "too much" money,by now we'd probably be manufacturing BVR and fuel propelled missiles.
But at least,we are getting somewhere with the current drive.

I want to go for SSC after I finish uni, perhaps the need for a military sponsor would be much more relaxed by then.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Rise Of Atheism In Nigeria A Direct Reaction To Flaws Of Pentecostalism? by EVarn(m): 11:27pm On Apr 22, 2017
I think the excesses of the modern age churches has hugely contributed to the rising shift from theism to atheism. The mounting corruption in the corridors of religion has frustrated and disenfranchised people so much that they have lost respect for the religious leadership, and by extension, religion itself.
I think many are becoming unreligious not because they do not believe in God per se(many dont even know what to believe anymore,as logic wars with doctrine),but because they detest the corruption and dishonesty in the religious circle of society.

your last statement is false
In case you dont know(but I suspect you do),the military DSSC/SSC programmes requires a "sponsor",without that sponsor, even if you are qualified, you cant be considered.
Military institutions like NDA and even Command are now by specific recommendation, not by merit.
Of course, I stand to be corrected with higher facts.

Thats the problem, even if government releases money, the institutions will safely tuck it away in swiss vaults, because the system is full of political appointees, even to enter into the military is by man-know-man.

Imagine if all that money that is frittered away on sending people on pilgrimage was spent on something useful, such as investigative science...
True.If such monies were given to DICON under a patriotic technocrat for military research,we'd be exporting tanks by now.

Its a good start, but more needs to be done in terms of funding and technology acquisition to kick-start various military R & D projects.
We should be working towards building our own indigenous tank and trainer aircraft.

Interesting.
If Obaseki and APC are so keen on preventing the results of the recounting of ballots from being considered in court, then that means his victory was a result of massive rigging.

Nigeria is a failed entity that's why we clamour for disintegration. It's only a hypocrite and enemies of truth which I don't know where you belong are the only ones who are coming up with inconsequential reasons to dignify this contraption.
Population, land mass this and that. What's the essence of these things if they can not be properly utilised since Lugard put us in this mess

If Nig can be like this after over 50 years of independence, I wonder how tomorrow would look like.
Stop deceiving yourself and embrace the truth.
I think its the structure that is weak; Our federalism, constitution, judiciary and society are too flawed, however, the most crucial flaw is that of leadership.Disintegration at this juncture, will achieve nothing,it would still be the same rotting system, clueless leaders and dishonest society.
So,what is the solution if we can neither cooperate nor disintegrate?.we innovate.

No race is black or white. The earth has only one race and it is human race. The idiocy of "Black and White" is found in the delusion of USA's idiosyncrasy. Now, if you believe in Black and White crap, there is no need debating with you on the validity of Nigeria as Africa's giant. Whatever such nonsense, Africa's Giant, could mean. By the way, the term "Black" is a derivative of slavery.
Interesting opinion.
In the end,I believe there are different races; black and white, based on physical observation. It is a matter of science, not philosophy or sentiment.
Anyway,if that is your believe, then good for you.

Biggest black democracy ?
You just typed this all in a bid to defend this failed entity.
Smh
Again, what's the essence of population when majority are hungry?
All the points I posted are true; it should enlighten you to note that Nigeria has the biggest democracy of the black race.
I did not "defend" anything,I simply stated reasons why Nigeria can be considered the giant of Africa.
As for Nigeria being a "failed entity",well,if you are part of this failed entity, then perhaps you are a failed individual yourself.I do not know Nigeria as a failed entity.
It is true that hunger is in the land, that is why we need to look for ways to make this country better,by any means possible.Lest,we all perish.

Many of them actually hate Nigeria. How you know this, is if you posted a thread on say, the South West, depicting their developments etc, suddenly those from that region will stand up and applaud those pictures, applaud whatever progress is being shown, and claim the glory for it, while talking up the progress of their region.

But place that same thread or debate within a NIGERIAN context, in which the nation of Nigeria is credited for it, they will immediately start condemning everything about it!

Try it if you don't believe me. smiley
I know how many Nigerians who use the internet reason.
I dont blame most people for feeling that way,it because they are either narrow minded or lack enlightenment. Not everyone can reason out of the societal box.

This is pure exhibition of delusion. Democracy has no black or blue or green.
"Biggest Black Democracy" means that Nigeria operates the biggest democracy among the whole black race(Africa,Carribeans and South America).

1.Biggest population(dont say it doesnt matter,it actually matters a lot if properly harnessed).
2.Biggest GDP in Africa.
3.Biggest and most advanced Telecommunications and Banking sectors in Africa.
4.Biggest black democracy in the world, with the biggest political parties in Africa.
And so on....
This is not to say we dont have a lot to improve on.

True.
We need youthful patriots, someone with nationalistic credentials, not illiterates old men.
Nigeria should be planning how to establish military bases all over Africa by now,not grappling with a $510bn economy and poor social infrastructures.
