PeaceJoyLove:The day you surrender to Christ Jesus....and I mean fully, sincerely and unreservedly/no holds-barred, you will be one mighty man of God. A force to be reckoned with.... I wholeheartedly F.O.R.G.I.V.E you....every single thing, word and action that you have done against me for almost three years now. You have chased and harassed me around this site unceasingly and unashamedly. But I understand that it's not you that I am ultimately battling. You are being used. While forgiveness does not mean "reconciliation", I have finally released any bitterness or desire for vindication towards you. My Father God knows what you have done and are doing. I am not interested in fighting you sir. You are sincerely in God's hands at this point. You are one of the main people on my prayer list...and will forever remain there until my last breath. |
Realhommie:You've been threatened clearly to disassociate yourself from me...for which I am sorry about that. This is the pattern that I've been dealing with for a few years now. Spiritual warfare at its finest. In the future, I hope you will do a thorough research on a person who's been/being falsely accused/slandered as I am doing on all (3) men of God. I appreciate your conversation pre-threatening. Take care |
IbnBattuta1960:Neither born nor raised in Nigeria....but clearly have a deeply justifiable connection. I hold 50 percent Nigerian direct descent lineage through my dad. P.S. Please read my message to the other guy Realhomie...on here. It applies to you as well. Appreciate your conversation on here. |
Realhommie:It takes the power of Christ in order to stand steadfast in the Lord...and His Word....the truth. The majority are afraid.... unfortunately. I am definitely gonna research the other two people and see why they are so angry. I came across the video of Pastor Okotie on another site and wanted to see how he would approach his claim. I was impressed at how he explained and used scripture to address this situation. Don't know this man from "Adam". I also don't know a thing about the man's personal life....not even gonna think that he is a perfect person. Clearly, I am reading the claims against him on this thread. He appears "flawed" like 100 percent of us human beings.... His "flaws" , however, don't negate the truth of God's Word and how brilliantly he did it (in this subject)....of which you and I are in agreement. |
prophetwis:Agreed....the bold is all that I was saying. I had to acknowledge "truth" in what the pastor said. |
IbnBattuta1960:I see....so tribal bigotry or pledged allegiance--regardless, comes into play here.... interesting. I wouldn't say, however that Nigerians are the most "foolish" in the world...could never and will never say that. I do think, however, that many are gullible and trusting because they are not personally searching the scriptures prayerfully to see what the Lord says. They have dangerously placed "man" above the Lord God and His Word. I think due to extreme poverty, and looking to "religious" leaders for hope, freedom and miracles for TEMPORAL riches rather than spiritual treasures (which many leaders promise, yet the scriptures do not teach) is what causes the blinders to stay on and the willful "ignorance" to continue. I say all of that with a concerned heart. Religious leaders (if truly called by God) have a place within the structure of the church. The problem is many are not called by God.... unfortunately. |
SuccessRecipes:Oh I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be mean to the guy. I am sincerely trying to work on my "mean, feministic, jezebellic, un-Christlike tendencies," that I have displayed on this forum at times. I thank you for your compliment though. |
aribisala0:I'm only speaking about the video (done by Pastor Okotie) of whether the late Mr. Joshua was a magician, warlock, occultist etc. This isn't about feelings for me....it's about "truth". I understand that you are still in mourning for the deceased, so I will not further reply. You appear angry....and what I don't want to engage in is an argument. |
aribisala0:I was speaking from a scriptural context. Correct--I know nothing else about their "beef". I stand by the fact that arguing back and forth and calling names and inviting violence (regardless of WHO is doing it) is wrong.. Appreciate you making me aware of that "years-long beef" though. |
I saw a video (by Pastor Okotie-whom I'd never heard of before Nairaland) regarding the late Mr. Joshua and it was biblically and intellectually outstanding and very convincing. He appeared very sound and used the Bible effectively.....from a biblical standpoint I must say. This is from someone (me) looking from the "outside in". His argument/point was very well proven scripturally. I don't know anything else about him or the other two men who profess Christianity, however this behavior of calling names...."mental problem" and threatening physical harm of "a dirty slap" is unacceptable and saddening.... It's so weird to me. Agree to disagree (as mature adults) and move on. This is one of the reasons why I can't grasp the majority--- (not all) of the Nigerian brand of Christianity.....practiced there. Not a good look for Nigeria... |
No He has not forgotten His children. Always in my prayers... |
Disclaimer: Not my original work May those who read be blessed. Part 1 None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20. The people of God are directed to the Scriptures as their safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the delusive power of spirits of darkness. Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveal his deceptions. At every revival of God's work the prince of evil is aroused to more intense activity; he is now putting forth his utmost efforts for a final struggle against Christ and His followers. The last great delusion is soon to open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every miracle must be tested. Those who endeavor to obey all the commandments of God will be opposed and derided. They can stand only in God. In order to endure the trial before them, they must understand the will of God as revealed in His word; they can honor Him only as they have a right conception of His character, government, and purposes, and act in accordance with them. None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great [594] conflict. To every soul will come the searching test: Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are our feet planted on the rock of God's immutable word? Are we prepared to stand firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus? Before His crucifixion the Saviour explained to His disciples that He was to be put to death and to rise again from the tomb, and angels were present to impress His words on minds and hearts. But the disciples were looking for temporal deliverance from the Roman yoke, and they could not tolerate the thought that He in whom all their hopes centered should suffer an ignominious death. The words which they needed to remember were banished from their minds; and when the time of trial came, it found them unprepared. The death of Jesus as fully destroyed their hopes as if He had not forewarned them. So in the prophecies the future is opened before us as plainly as it was opened to the disciples by the words of Christ. The events connected with the close of probation and the work of preparation for the time of trouble, are clearly presented. But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed. Satan watches to catch away every impression that would make them wise unto salvation, and the time of trouble will find them unready.
Nancy2020, I will reply you over here on my own thread because 1.) I made my final statement on the guy's thread (so no going back) and 2.) there is some important truth here that you need to read. Your soul is that important to me. I suggest that you read this entire quote here. It is taken from the book, The Great Controversy, by Ellen G. White concerning the end times. In answer to your question, go back to that thread, scroll up to "August 9th, 2021 @ 1:09 AM.," and you'll see my answer in bold print. You be blessed.. |
obonujoker:You have understood this very important end time event 100 percent. I think people do not understand the extreme importance of knowing this vital detail. If the disciples, reformers, Christians of the Dark Ages (and even modern day Christians in countries such as "fill in the blank _______" had/have to go through extreme persecution into death, why would we, Christians that will be alive during the time and haven't been martyred, not have to go through the exact same thing? We are told in Matthew, Revelation and other books in the Bible concerning the endtimes several times that those who follow Christ SHALL suffer persecution. As we get closer to the second coming, it will get even worse. Societies are showing that right now. It is a fact. It's a bitter and fearful pill to swallow (which no one would deliberately choose to take), nonetheless it is the truth. Sincere Christians are not gonna Cascade through the end times peacefully...and scripture has never taught that. Why this topic keeps coming up is because if people are deceived about when the rapture will occur, then they may give up during the tribulation time (which we are told will be as such as never was in Earth's history) and forfeit eternity. You understand this clearly. |
"Cockroach Christian"? Just when I think I've read it all here on Nairaland...mercy. Name-calling from the gut...the depths of... Folks, you've really got to do better. |
Bishopkingsley:I just realized something here. However I'll "play along." Except the following that I am writing is no joke. Your reaction is "spot on" what I knew it would be. You have turned a thread that was supposed to be centered on the questioning of the validity of a "secret rapture" to now once again an attack on a particular denomination. This leads me to believe the obvious....which I will not state. Sir, you asked a question. I gave you the answer. If you didn't want the truth, you shouldn't have asked me....with all due respect. No amount of disparaging, attacking, discrediting or falsifying a denomination and me, will change what is written in the Word of God regarding the AntiChrist/beast system. By the way, a history recap would do you very well. Oftentimes, history validates what is in the Bible. You keep writing about Europe and a system, the answer was given, but you refuse to accept it because of who said it. I pray the scales fall from your eyes. Also, I hope you understand that John the "Revelator" , the disciple whom Jesus loved, wrote the prophetic endtime book of Revelation inspired under the Spirit of God. Ellen Gould White, God's messenger whom you continue to attack, was not even alive during that time. Please do a history recap... As I told the other gentlemen on a thread of mine (who is now on this thread) that I will not defend nor debate many false attacks against my denomination, I will not do so with you as well. As I exit this thread, I pray that you not allow a prideful, arrogant and haughty spirit to block you from understanding the Book of Revelation. Your issue is with God---not me. I still stand and agree with your initial topic of your thread here that there is no "secret rapture". Learn to practice maturity....please. You be blessed... |
Bishopkingsley:Well sir, Just as you have stated that the Bible is the answer-book, I too believe it to be that. It's not what I think, but what the Bible states. My opinion means "0". Let me say this first: I am not trying to attack sincere Catholics who are trying to worship God as best as they know how. I have family members who are Catholic. I am, however, speaking about a system...an institution that is directly contrary in the majority of its teachings...which directly oppose the scriptures. I have to speak the truth here....an extremely unpopular truth. One that will make me even more disliked than I already am, but I am compelled to say this. The AntiChrist is the pope....has always been and will always be until the Lord's second coming. It is he whom Revelation speaks about. Protestants, throughout early history knew this and plainly stated it. The "reformers" knew....which was the crux of the Protestant Reformation-- to return to the scriptures of God and not "man". Sola Scriptura... The Bible is very plain and gives answers if we truly want to know through sincere prayer and study. Revelation 13:18 (KJV) 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV) 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God |
Bishopkingsley:The Bible is very clear.....you are correct. It does identify the "Antichrist"....which is unpopular to the majority. I'll leave that alone. Sorry for the derailment... Appreciate your reply. |
Bishopkingsley:Sir, This is a very powerful statement. You are studying. Do you hold this opinion personally? |
Dangerousboy, What I respect about you my brother, although we differ in some of our religious and cultural beliefs, is that you appear to love the Lord. You respectfully reply and engage those who come on your threads (for whatever motives) in order to dialogue....with the intention of teaching and/or learning. I would encourage you to continue keeping that same spirit. The Holy Spirit will direct you on how far to engage in dialogue (with whomever) as well....knowing when to "dust off one's feet". Now to the topic...I do agree about creating a sincere atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving (through prayer, song, etc.) for the Lord God to make His presence felt. Moses wanted that deeper relationship with God....it's like one knows that God exists in the head, but needs to experience Him in a way that changes his/her life... Good topic... |
Op, You have the first five words of your title correct....the operative word being "SECRET" rapture.... The scriptures teach that the rapture WILL NOT be a "secret". I might add that there also is no "pre-tribulation" secret rapture. The rapture of the Lord's children will occur AFTER the tribulation and the entire world will see it. I know this is very difficult for people to accept, having been taught otherwise their entire life. I implore them to prayerfully study the scriptures with the guidance of the Holy Spirit...as you have done. Well written.... |
queen amawo:What faith they have! What loyalty and allegiance to the great "I Am That I Am"! In spite of....mercy, mercy, mercy. You can't tell me that God is not smiling down on His children....willing to worship & honor Him regardless. What an encouragement... |
There is a difference between Christian "songs" and "hymns", and I could go on forever listing powerful lines in them. However in terms of Christian songs, I must say that one of the most powerful lines that I cannot ever forget is.... "No weapon formed against me, shall prosper." -Fred Hammond, Gospel Singer Song entitled "No Weapon" Based off of Isaiah 54:17 |
Beautifully written.... |
PeaceJoyLove:Thank you for inquiring about my weeks-long absence on this forum on (2) other threads. I did not reply you....for reasons ultimately best known to me... My apologies for not knowing how to approach your inquiry if it was sincere or not. I am doing fine...and blessed. Again thank you. P.S. Dangerousboy, my apologies for this. Was just trying to encourage your thread... I really don't want mess anymore. Seems like I can't win though.... Again my apologies. |
Beautifully written.... God's ways are NOT *our* ways. However, one cannot go wrong once full trust and faith is placed in Christ. Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. |
Beautifully written..... |
VBCampaign:Oh ok... |
Very well written article....ripe with wisdom. P.S. I think I'll skip the article on the murder...although it appears to be what motivated your opinion piece. Too many negative and depressing situations out here in the world that can mess up minds by being constantly ingested. I think, though, that I got just enough of the situation--(a grown man--perhaps married--in a possible sexual relationship with a baby girl of "21" to know boundaries shouldn't have been crossed....how tragic. |
Beautifully, beautifully written... I will never forget the day I saw the planes go through the towers....mercy is all I can say. I remember reading the stories of what were perceived as delays--at the time-- was God's shielding of those particular people....for whatever reason. There is always a reason to be thankful and gracious of God's care...in good and bad times. I tend to take that for granted (at times) and need the Lord's grace in that area...and to daily thank Him for His protection. |
