The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja has been announced as the first state to benefit from the 5G network.

The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC while making
the revelation assured that the fifth-generation technology will
soon be deployed across states so citizens and firms can enjoy seamless substantial network improvements, including higher connection speed, among others.

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Prof Garba Umar Danbatta, disclosed this while delivering a speech at the ongoing 33rd Enugu International Trade Fair.

The special day which featured random air time gifts across
the four existing networks also had a ballot session where
many persons won smartphones.

Again Danbatta restated the Commission’s commitment to
protecting and empowering consumers irrespective of their
class, from unfair practices by service providers.

Speaking through the Enugu Zonal Controller, Ogbonnaya Ugama, Danbatta said the assurance was based on their regulatory mandate of ensuring that consumers of telecommunications services deserve to get value for their money and to be treated right as very important stakeholders.

According to him, spectrum licenses for the companies that
will roll out services have already been issued.

Ugama assured that as a consumer-focused public sector
institution, the NCC shall continue to commit to the provision of a high level playing ground for options to thrive, promote investment, delivery of innovative services to individual consumers among others.

He noted that NCC has been a long-standing partner of ECCIMA the fair organizers adding that the commission has continually held it’s special day program at the fair.

Meanwhile, in his address earlier, the ECCIMA president, Barr Jasper Nduagwuike lauded the NCC for its efforts at making life more amenable through improvements in communication services in the country and thanked them for their continued commitment and support to the fair.

The Kaduna State Police Command has safely detonated an
improvised explosives device (IED) planted along Shanono
area of Rigasa community in Igabi Local Government Area of
the state.

It was gathered that device was concealed inside a bucket
and dumped near a stream by unknown persons suspected to
be terrorists around 6:30am on Thursday, March 31.

A resident of the area, Tijjani Har’una Shehu, told Daily Trust
that the bucket was sealed with cellotape which made the
people nearby suspicious.

“The device was concealed in a rubber bucket covered with
sellotape which made us to suspect it. Immediately, our
community leaders alerted the police including DSS before the
anti-bomb squad arrived and disabled it,” he said.

According to him, there were wires connected into the sealed
bucket.

The loud bang following the controlled explosion caused panic
among residents who weren't aware of the discovery and they
took to Facebook to express their fears.

Spokesperson of the command, ASP Jalige Mohammed,
confirmed the discovery but did not give further details.

A Nigerian man shared a screenshot of message he received from an audacious debtor who gave him conditions on paying back the money he borrowed him.

@senibobo said the debtor borrowed N750k from him in June 2021 and has only paid back N300k. From the message received, the debtor demanded for an agreement to pay back the remaining sum in batches.

A woman divorced her husband and married his best man
after he declared his love for her in his congratulatory speech
at her wedding.

Desiree White, 32, from Illinois, and her ex-husband got
married in 2010 and their mutual friend, Bryant White, was the
best man.

Desiree had been friends with Bryant since high school and
they formed a friendship as a trio.

However, during Desiree's wedding reception, while giving the
best man speech, Bryant declared in front of the couple and
wedding guests that he "had always loved her".

The mother-of-four said she has never been happier despite
the "very big mess" she has had to overcome.

Desiree said: "Bryant and I met each other in class at high
school. I had a boyfriend at the time and because of that, I

"We were just friends and one day when I brought a photo of
my boyfriend. He said 'oh my god, I know him - he's in my
lunch period'.

"I had been talking about Bryant to my boyfriend saying I
loved this kid in my class who was so funny.

"Bryant and my ex-husband became best friends and because
they were guys, they did a lot together. They did everything

The three students became best friends and Desiree claims
she even set Bryant up on dates as he had been unlucky in
love.

She claims she never had any feelings for him while with her
first husband.

Desiree recounts that Bryant had too many drinks on her
wedding day and was drunk when he proclaimed his love for
her.

Desiree said: "I set Bryant up so many times. I've been on
double dates with him and I always tell people I wouldn't
have ever dated the person he was then.

"He had a lot of growing up to do. I didn't really look at him in
that way.

"I got married. On the day, Bryant was really drunk.

"On the wedding day, I walked into the living room, right when
I was done getting ready with my wedding dress on and my
hair done. Bryant came into my parent's house and froze and
stared at me.

"I said 'hey, what's up?'. He said I looked beautiful. I'd never
had a moment of him looking at me like that.

"I thought he was being nice because it was my wedding day.

"We went to the wedding and he was really drunk. I told him
he still needed to do his best man's speech.

"When he went up to do it, he said, 'I remember the first
moment I saw Desiree, I loved her. I fell in love with her. I
knew she had to be mine. I thought she was the most
beautiful person I've ever seen in my life'.

"He said 'she's the best person I've ever met. I've never met
anyone like her. Then I found out she already had a boyfriend
and I thought I needed to find out a way to get her, but then I
met her ex and we became friends'.

"He then just said 'love you both - congratulations'.

"It ended there. I remember when he first started my ears were
ringing. I'm really introvert. I was in front of all these people
and I didn't know what was happening.

"I don't think I thought anything of it. I was in my own head.

Everyone was kind of laughing and then it got quiet."

Desiree and Bryant found themselves on the dancefloor
together later that night and he asked why she had never
given him a chance.

"I went upstairs and I remember sitting in my dress in the
hotel room confused. I wondered if I was misinterpreting what
vibe he was giving off and just didn't talk about it again.

"I'm sure it was because he was really drunk and lonely. I
knew up to this point that he had girlfriends that weren't
working out and he was kind of the third wheel."

Desiree's marriage didn't work and she got divorced from her
ex-husband in 2011.

Bryant then offered her emotional support, kissed her, and
vowed to always be there for her.

Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has ordered a 40-year-old man, Mr Idongest Idiok, to be remanded in a correctional centre for publishing libel against Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The accused person popularly known as Soundcraft Owo Oba, on Facebook, had on March 16, 2022, made 'offensive and derogatory' social media publication against the governor by referring to him as a sex maniac.

Idiok also alleged that the State Commissioner for Agriculture,
Dr. Glory Edet, is the Governor's sidechic.

"Inem mfed Ette asin awana ami. Daa Ufan ade akung itid tutu" he wrote.

The publication followed an incident at the Ibom Hall, Uyo, during the International Women’s Day celebration where the
Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Edet, was alleged to have said that she was the leader of women in the state in the presence of the wife of the governor, Mrs Martha Emmanuel.

The accused person took to his Facebook page and other social media platforms to abuse the governor.

According to the charge, the accused had, within the magisterial district in the Uyo metropolis, knowingly and intentionally made a social media publication via Facebook,
knowing the same to be false, for the purpose of causing annoyance, insult, injury or ill-will against Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The offence is punishable under Section 24(1)(b) of the
Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.

After listening to the application of the prosecuting counsel that jurisdiction in the matter of cybercrime, by virtue of
Section 50 of the Act, was vested in the Federal High Court, Senior Magistrate Ini-fiok Isong ordered that the case file be
forwarded to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions
for legal advice/arraignment of the accused before the
appropriate court.

He further ordered that pending the DPP’s legal advice, the accused be remanded in custody of the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ikot Ekpene, for a period not exceeding 14 days.

The prosecution was led by Ibanga Inyang, while Uwem Umoh
represented the accused person, and Samuel Ikpo led Pelumi
Adegoke represented the governor.

The case was adjourned till Monday, 4th of April, 2022.
Meanwhile, a legal luminary, Samuel Ikpor, who is watching the brief on behalf of the Governor, said the case would serve as a reminder that a poster of defamatory comments on social media can be held liable for damage caused by those comments.

Relatives of passengers aboard the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna
train stormed Rigasa train station in Kaduna State early on
Tuesday, March 29.

The family members, desperate for news about their loved
ones, trooped to the station as early as 1a.m.

The Abuja-Kaduna train, carrying 950 passengers, was
bombed by bandits around Kateri-Rijana general area.

Videos and photos from the scene show bleeding passengers,
with at least one person unconscious.

The Kaduna State Government confirmed that the military had
secured the trapped train, but was silent on the number of
casualities.

Soon after news of the train attack became public, loved ones
went to the train station, asking to be briefed in the current
situation.

One of those at the trian station, named Ali Baba, said: "I
heard the news around 11.30 p.m., and I had to rush here this
morning."

Another relative, Hajia Muhammed Usman: "I cannot believe
what I heard. That is why I ran to Rigasa this morning to find
out what happened to my daughter who boarded the train
yesterday."

She lamented that, "Kaduna-Abuja road is not safe, Kaduna-
Abuja train is not safe, Kaduna International Airport is not
safe. Our houses, rooms are not safe. Nowhere is safe in
Nigeria."

On Sunday, an alleged video of terrorists attacking Kaduna
international airport was circulated on social media
platforms.


TheCable had reported that the attack, which occurred on
Saturday, resulted in panic as security operatives engaged the
attackers in a gun duel, while a security guard was killed in
the process.

Some social media users claimed the 30-second video shared
on Facebook and Twitter was from the Saturday attack on the
airport. They further claimed the attackers invaded the runway
with motorcycles.

Olajumoke Alawode-James, a broadcast journalist with over
77,000 followers, had shared the video on her Twitter page
with the caption “Terrorists at Kaduna airport”. The post
generated over 150 retweets, 50 comments and 8,600 views.

The video was also shared by Koiki Media with over 10,000
followers on Twitter.

A Facebook page, Political Affairs Int with over 100,000
followers, also shared the video. The post has garnered over
1,700 views and 34 shares.


VERIFICATION

While the alleged video of the incident shows some individuals
riding motorcycles on the runway, Amina Salami, the airport
manager, in a phone interview with TheCable, said the
gunmen fired shots into the runway from the fenced area and
were later repelled by soldiers.

“It wasn’t clear whether they wanted to come into the airport,
but they shot a security guard on runway 05. Unfortunately, on
their way to the hospital, he died,” she said.

Findings by TheCable also showed that the video is not new.
It has been on the internet since 2018.

The incident in the video actually took place on August 3,
2018, when hundreds of people believed to be loyalists of a
politician broke through the fence of the Sultan Abubakar III
International Airport, Sokoto state, and invaded the runway to
receive their principal.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had
condemned the incident .


VERDICT

The alleged video of terrorists attacking Kaduna airport is old

in 2018.

The criminal case against Nigerian singer, Wasiu Goriola
popularly known as Lil Frosh, by his ex-girlfriend, Okeoghene
Gift Iyomateire, has been withdrawn from the court.

Recall that in February 2021, Gift went public with the
domestic violence allegation and also shared photos and
videos of the injuries she sustained after she was attacked by
the singer.

Days after he was dropped by the DMW record label owned
by Davido, Gift filed charges against Lil Frosh. The case has
since been in court since then.

On Monday, March 28, both Lil Frosh and his ex-girlfriend
took to their Instagram pages to announce that they have
reconciled and proceeded to withdraw the case from court.
Lil Frosh shared a public statement from his lawyer which
said

“The above subject matter refers. We are Counsel to Wasiu
Goriola also known as Lil Frosh (our client) on whose
behalf we write.

This is to notify the public and well-wishers of our client
about the development in the criminal charge/suit brought
against our client.

On 10th of February, 2021 a criminal charge was
instituted against our client which has caused a change in
our client’s trajectory. However, it has become imperative
that we notify the public and well-wishers that the parties
in the criminal suit have reconciled and charges brought
against our client was withdrawn on the 14th March,
2022.

Our client does not pride himself in this circumstance and
has dearly met up with the family of lyomaterie who has
been benevolent in this process. Our Client appreciates
prayers and support from Families and Friends during this
time. Thank you.”

Gift also confirmed that the case had been settled out of
court.

“I want to thank everyone that stood by me throughout the
incident between Lil Frosh and I. I will also like to state
that the case between I and lil Frosh has been withdrawn
from court and we are on good terms. Thank you.”

Suspected bandit terrorists on Monday March 28, detonated
bombs on the rail track of the Abuja-Kaduna train.

According to reports, the attack occurred at a point between
Katari and Rijana. The 6pm train, which took off from Idu
Train Station at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) hit the
explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in
Kaduna.

One of the passengers who reached out to a family member
said the assailants surrounded the train and were shooting
sporadically.

There are at least 970 passengers onboard the train, according
to official sources familiar with the train service.

A jilted man has taken to Facebook to call out his girlfriend who dumped him to marry a soldier.

Uncle Bless in his Facebook post, claimed this occurred after he rented an apartment and set up a business for her. The heartbroken Ghanaian man also alleged that after he questioned her on her relationship with the soldier, she claimed "he's like a brother to her".

He wrote:

Finland has been named the world's happiest country for the fifth year running, in an annualUN-sponsored index that Afghanistan as theunhappiest.

The latest list was completed before Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine.

In the list, Denmark is ranked second happiest followed by Iceland, Switzerland and Netherlands.

Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, a co-author of the index, said: 'This presents a stark reminder of the material and immaterial damage that war does to its many victims.'

The World Happiness Report, now in its 10th year, is based on people's own assessment of their happiness, as well as economic and social data.

It assigns a happiness score on a scale of zero to 10, based on an average of data over a three-year period.

Mrs Ojukwu, wife of Late Chief Emeka Ojukwu, the eternal leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has congratulated Charles Soludo on his swearing-in as the Governor of Anambra State.

Bianca in a post on her Facebook page described the inauguration as ‘liberation day for Anambra State.

Her reaction is coming after she engaged in a fight with the wife of the out-gone governor of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano.

Mrs Obiano who many said came set for a fight had allegedly
approached Mrs Ojukwu at the front row of the event, where
she was seated close to the out-gone governor, Chief Willie
Obiano.

She allegedly rained abuses on her, causing Mrs Ojukwu to smack her in the face while she (Mrs Obiano) held and drew Ojukwu’s hair before security operatives separated both women.

However, shortly after the celebration, Bianca wrote. “It’s
