@ OP, you posted no source and links. See source links here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpWPSDDaDN4 http://dcgazette.com/oops-isis-protesters-forgot-about-suicide-belt-video/ |
I am somewhat confused after reading through the posts. Can someone kindly make a very clear distinction between stealing and corruption for me. It may be good to use previous administrations/officers as examples. I am even more confused by the declaration of Abacha as not corrupt (by Babangida and Buhari), yet funds are being returned to Nigeria from different domains. (for my source(s) see below) In the light of this I think the Nigerian ruling elite have their own perception of stealing and corruption. To me however, though they might have different definitions, in practice I think they are more often than not interwoven. "Two former heads of state and a military president yesterday rose in stout defence of their late colleague, Gen. Sani Abacha. The former rulers are Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who served in the Abacha regime as chairman of the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) declared that there was no basis for accusing Abacha of corruption." ----- Guardian Newspapers Monday June 9, 2008. www.vanguardngr.com/.../state-jersey-return-315m-abacha-loot-nigeria/ http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-27926100 ('Abacha loot': Nigeria to get $227m from Liechtenstein) http://www.tvcnews.tv/?q=article/nigeria-us700-million-abacha-loot-fully-returned-swiss-envoy https://www.nairaland.com/2024279/channels-island-return-315m-abacha |
Sunnybobo3:Sir, I can answer your question. The answer is YES! |
duni04:The day after the rain! Take care. |
Market is rebounding a little in mid day trading. Na only Diamond waka come, so much offer no single bid.
|
Yem0350:Oga complete the question. ![]() What is their business? ![]() |
Diamond Management are so damn lucky to have concluded their rights issue before this deluge. Just imagine the horror in the face of the management of ACCESS, UBA, FBNH, SKYEBANK, etc as the watch the market data. |
In moments like this, can this be of any help? http://www.thesimpledollar.com/cash-flow-capital-gains-investing-the-two-investing-paths/ |
jarkbauer:Oga one year what !!! Please cross-check from ft.com, where you can view up to 5 years price history. You will see that a good number of even "fundamentally good" stocks are now hovering around their prices in late 2012/early 2013. Two year low is more like it. http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Summary?s=FBNH:LAG http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Summary?s=ZENITHBANK:LAG http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Summary?s=GUARANTY:LAG http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Summary?s=UBA:LAG |
maslong:I agree with you. The companies in the present case have much better valuations than in 2008, yet the market is moving down down down. I do not think the problem is from your broker. We can see many offers for a lot of stocks but no bids. It seems everybody is trying to exit the market at the same time, so there are many sellers but few buyers. |
Dexterax:Nobody get liver to say impossible in this market. If it gets to that junction, with the prevailing mood you might even be too scared to enter. Blood every where! "Greed" gives place to fear !! |
natruetalk:Not only FBNH oh! Access has over 100 million offers currently. Guys have entered super panic mood. Many want to sell some stocks but no buyers are forthcoming. Seems there is a competition to exit this market. |
Aks:Oga do you think it can get much worse? I mean another minus 28% will bring it to 3.36 NGN? I can not even honestly answer the question, when I see the current supersonic downward trend of FBNH, Access and even Oando. Just look at 7up taking a pounding This is a super bear market!! Blood everywhere!!! |
Bears having a field day! Who has seen the bulls? I guess the bulls are on vacation till next year!! |
passwelle:Sir, you are so good, that was it! You have the visual evidence. The circles being drawn around this is making me uncomfortable. Though I do not want to bail at a loss, I am thinking of bailing as soon as it greens with respect to my averaged entry point. |
passwelle:Oh you saw it too? The activity from five minutes before closing whistle. I am grateful, I am no longer shooting in the dark. Thanks to technology. I am watching in 3D. |
funkystanl:I recommend Morgan Capital because I am cool with their services. Transfers to my stockbroking account reflect online for me to trade with a lot of times less than 3 hours! Evacuation of funds from stockbroking account has been achieved in less than 48 hours after making the request. Account statement can be printed or exported in pdf. Disclosure: I have an account with them but not a staff or shareholder. |
Yem0350:I am watching too! Seems it can go further south with the current wind. You need to see the super offer on it with very little bid !!! |
Please, does anyone have info on the success or otherwise of the Diamond Rights Issue? Please share. Just trying to know why the dip in its price this week. The allotment announcement should hit the public space this week. |
Trying to find the reasons for FBNH price profile and came across this article. http://web.nairametrics.com/is-first-bank-set-to-take-a-n7-5billion-write-down/ |
Aks:Don't be to so sure! This market as I see it has become one crazy bitch!! With the way I am saying it, many stocks are going to go below their year lows pretty soon. Folks should be careful of falling knives (until they are on the ground) ![]() |
The elephant seen below 10 ! |
Not so good news with respect to the elephant!!! http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2014-10-14/london-mining-may-see-africa-banks-exposed-to-200-million-loan.html |
Chibuking81:Perhaps in addition to traders fleeing to cash positions, the politicians are liquidating their positions to "prosecute" their political "games". I agree with you that the bearish season will be around for a while. |
moyin2009:Check this out and then draw your conclusion. http://tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/18464-acquisition-of-mainstreet-bank-skye-bank-faces-fresh-hurdles For me I expect cautious trading until some positive news ( better Q3 results or conclusion of the acquisition) to drive sentiments. |
Seems like a bloody day on NSE! |
Oloro29:Do not go hating the Public holiday! You still have your desired bull run on SKYE! ![]() |
Agbalowomeri:Are you serious! What quantity? But there is no trading till Wednesday? How can this be pulled off! |
donmarshia:I am not oh! Just a retail investor. Oga abeg na promotion you dey dash me! I think the disclosure was necessary to add perspective. ![]() |
immanuello:@ Imanuello I have a contrary opinion (especially if one is willing to play for medium term (12-18 months)). No doubt the company is having a had time converting revenue to earning, but I do not see this as unsurmountable. Comparing it with peers, I see some value. Also checkout the last paragraph on this link and see the asset valuation per share. http://thecitizenng.com/company-review/skye-bank-fails-to-grow-revenue-lowers-cost-to-grow-profit/ "The bank earned N1.21 per share in 2013, improving from 95 kobo per share in the preceding year. Net assets per share has also improved from N8.09 to N9.11 during the same period. The bank has proposed a cash dividend of 30 kobo per share against 50 kobo per share it paid in the preceding year. The closure date for the company register and payment date are yet to be announced." I agree however that there are other opportunities in the NSE! Disclosure: I have Skye in my portifolio |
