The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the House of Representative seem not to be happy over the emergence of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the majority leader of the 8th House. They are particular not comfortable with the support President Muhammadu Buhari gave to Gbajabiamila’s ambition for the position of House leader. The House was thrown into crisis after Gbajabiamila who had the backing of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) lost to Yubuku Dogara for the Speakership position on June 9. Following his defeat, the party penciled his name for the House majority leader position which generated into controversy among APC lawmakers in the House. The crisis that lasted 49-day ended when the Speaker Dogara announced Gbajabiamila as the House leader few days ago. According to The Punch, the PDP lawmakers on Sunday August 2 said that new revelation showed that Buhari supported Gbajabiamila to be majority leader despite his earlier stance that he will remain neutral in the choices of the principal officers of the National Assembly. It was learnt that the majority leader during a news briefing with newsmen in Abuja on Friday disclosed that President Buhari prevailed on he not drop his ambition as House leader. Gbajabiamila said: “But, on principle, the President did not accept it (that he should give up fighting); my party did not accept it and I thank God for the kind of confidence they have in me to be able to deliver the goods for the party. “Who am I to say no? It was on principle that we stayed on course.” Speaking on behalf of PDP caucus in the House, the minority whip, Yakubu Barde, stated that it seem that the president was not telling Nigerians the true when he said he will not intervene over the choice of principal officers. The caucus whip stressed that the majority leader’s revelation had also thrown up the question as to who between Buhari and Gbajabiamila had lied to Nigerians. Barde said: “However, with the latest revelation by Gbajabiamila, we are not sure who is telling the truth between the two men. It is either one of them lied to Nigerians or both men jointly and separately lied. “If as Gbajabiamila claimed, Buhari did influence his emergence as House leader, it will rather be unfortunate that the President is not a man of his words and Nigerians should now begin to scrutinise every word that emanates from him. - see more on http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/08/pdp-lawmakers-angry-over-buharis.html cc lalasticlala seun ishilove

Examination centers and candidates involved in examination malpractice will be investigated and prosecuted, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said. The Head, WAEC National Office, Charles Eguridu, revealed this in Abuja on Wednesday at a Road Show on Examination Malpractices sensitization. “When we discover candidates who are involved in examination malpractice, we have the power to withhold their results and carry out investigation," Eguridu said. "When we investigate and confirm that they were involved in any form of malpractice the results of that subject could be canceled, the entire results could be canceled and the center can be de-recognized.” He said Nigeria has the highest number of candidates and incidence of examination malpractices. Eguridu said the Council has introduced advanced technology which captures candidate's biometric data at the point of registration. “These are uploaded into our database and on the day of the exam, these features are uploaded into a handheld device at the center and like the card reader does, we verify that it is the candidate that writes the exam," he added. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, MacJohn Nwaobiala, also decried the surge in examination malpractice in Nigeria. see more on http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/waec-to-prosecute-exam-malpractice.html cc lalasticlala

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole who has been in the news in recent times over his allegations on the misappropriation of funds in the last administration, says he will not be silent when people are abusing power and stealing government funds. Oshiomole, who was a guest at a seminar organized by the Post-Mortem sub-committee of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) yesterday July 29th , alleged that the Department of Petroleum Resources collected N30 billion illegally during the last administration .. "Chairman, you must compel the DPR to refund the money. Edo state will pursue its own share of that money because we have not authorized the DPR to take it. And we have the right to go to court if it is not done because for me I want to die for something and not for nothing because I know I will die. DPR’s budget as I understand is about N4 billion annually and in one month illegally they have deducted 4 per cent from certain accruals from royalties among others amounting to over N2 billion. If your annual budget is about N4 billion and you collect over N2 billion in one month which means in a year you are going to collect close to between N24 and N30 billion where your total expenditure is not more than N4 billion. This is not only illegal, it is unjust and not acceptable in a decent society. We cannot all keep quiet even in the face of everyone abusing power. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/dpr-collected-n30billion-illegally-gov.html#sthash.WJT3a9cD.dpuf cc lalasticlala seun ishilove

Buhari: Igbo knows him very well already that is why they failed to vote for him. Those that voted for him is just that they don't have option because of party loyalty or they were paid to do so. Igbos already know that Buhari cannot in anyway favour them but to say they are surprised in the issue that are unfolding now, will be a lie even though they had a leap of faith considering the much publicized slogan "change" which the APC used as their company strategy. To me, PMB will always be a fanatics regardless of what he portrays himself to be, because once a general, always a dictator. I only pray that things will get better in Nigeria because he can only deny Igbos political appointments but food or fuel will always be the same price weather you are in north, south, east or west.

See all those things that got Nigeria talking about PMB and his English blunders .... lol 1. In the US Speaking with President Obama about the peaceful power transition in Nigeria, Muhamadu Buhari referred to his party as the All Nigeria’s People’s Congress. For some it sounded like a combination of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party. Headlines screamed that the Nigerian president apparently forgot the name of his party, the opposition party that came to power following the historical elections in the country. 2. In the interview with Al Jazzeera Following the postponement of the general elections earlier this year at that time the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, expanded the abbreviation INEC as the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission (when in reality it stands for the Independent National Electoral Commission). And people in the comments went like: “I can’t really believe my ears. Can this be really true?” “I covered my face in shame as I watched the interview on aljazeera tv. What a shame to APC n al his supporters.” Not a big deal, said the others. 3. In Owerri The presidential candidate, seeking support for his party in Imo state capital, failed to recall correctly the name of his running mate, Yemi Osibanjo. Instead, he called his right-hand man “Yemi Osinbade” in the course of the big rally attended by the crowd of supporters. 4. In a conversation after the meeting in Germany Back to the global scale. After the G7 meeting President Buhari was briefing journalists on the outcome, when he suddenly referred to Germany as… “West Germany” (historically, West Germany seized to exist in 1990). In the same speech Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel somehow became “President Michelle of West Germany”. Nigerians lashed out on Buhari: “Three mistakes in just five words… ‘President Michelle of West Germany’? Our president still lives in the stone ages.” “Dear Lord, what sort of embarrassment is this? West Germany? We all thought it was over with Patience Jona, has GMB taken he batton?” - 5. In America, again The Chibok girls abduction is still and will remain a sensitive issue for Nigeria and the whole world until they are rescued. Probably, President Buhari was nervous as he delivered speech at the National Institute of Peace. Anyway, what came out of it was another mistake as the Nigerian leader said that the children had been kidnapped from “their hotels” instead of “hostels” Sorry guys the videos are bigger than 4mb so cannot upload it here - See the videos at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/omg-president-buhari-and-his-five.html#sthash.bPkj5BF3.dpuf cc lalasticlala seun ishilove

Professor Dibu Ojerinde, the registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has hit back at parents and students over the recent crisis brewing from the reduced cut-off mark. Professor Ojerinde, who was a guest during a live programme monitored in Lagos Tuesday morning, noted that students who are posted to other institutions have the choice of rejecting it as he believes that they are trying to help the students. Professor Dibu Ojerinde, the Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation (JAMB), has asked parents to stick to the policies of the examination body. Speaking further on the arguments by guardians, parents and students that he cannot choose for them, he said: “Are you saying that those who scored 180 should be allowed to write post UTME in the University of Lagos or in Obafemi Awolowo University? “When these schools say they cannot admit those students with low cut off marks, are we to impose the students on the schools? “It is not the first year that we are doing this to the institutions. They have a choice not to go to any institution where they have been redistributed to.” On the issue of the basic requirements for admission, Ojerinde added that the redistribution to other institutions does not guarantee automatic admission, as they still have to meet the basic requirements of the institutions to be offered admission. He added: “We have not changed the rule of the game, it is the same thing. Instead of waiting endlessly for admission, let us do it the simple way and that was the reason we started sending names to schools other than those which students chose during their - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/cut-off-mark-jamb-registrar-fires-back.html#sthash.QFCFwv3q.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove seun

The parliament of Tunisia approved legislation allowing the death penalty for those convicted of terrorism offences, The Guardian reports. Death penalty is caused by the fact that dozens of foreign visitors were killed by terrorists in the past few months . For example, in June ISIS killed 38 tourists in Tunisia while in March gunmen killed 21 foreigners in the country. On Saturday the bill was approved by a margin of 174-0 with 10 abstentions after three days of debate. The source notes that Human Rights Watch had criticised the bill. The organization said: “It would open the way to prosecuting political dissent as terrorism, give judges overly broad powers and curtail lawyers’ ability to provide an effective defence”. The Guardian explained that the new law against terrorism and money laundering permits the death penalty for terrorism-related offences such as killings of foreign visitors or of someone enjoying international protection - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/death-penalty-for-terrorists-in-tunisia.html#sthash.4RZ0IiVh.dpuf cc lalasticlala seun ishilove

Jomo Gecaga, the Personal Assistant to the President of Kenya was barred this evening from touching President Obama’s Official Limo “The Beast” as he was trying to strike a pose in front of it. After achieving his goal, he took to Twitter to share the picture. Obama arrived Nairobi Kenya and was picked up by the armoured bullet proof Limousine. Why is America making it so impossible for someone like me to like them? I can't say the same for my readers but i also believe that some of you shares the same idealogy i have about them. Now why would an ordinary America security or guard whatsoever you call it, trying to prevent a whole presidential personal assistant from touching Obama's lime? The special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari and his United States of America counterpart, Barack Obama, were never in direct talks over the issue of same-sex marriage. Ahead of Buhari’s four-day visit to the country, there were fears amongst Nigerians that Buhari could succumb to pressure from Obama to approve same-sex marriage but Adesina said the president rejected the request. He went one step further to clarify late on Wednesday night in his personal Twitter account, @FemAdesina that the two presidents were never in direct contact over the situation. He said: “The same sex marriage issue came up at the joint session of Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs, not in direct talks with Obama. “Talks shifted to another matter once PMB emphatically stated Nigeria’s stand on same sex marriage. The issue was not pushed.” - See more and twits at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/obama-buhari-never-discussed-same-sex.html#sthash.mBKxYQTH.dpuf cc lalasticlala

By Tunde Opeseitan, Lagos A Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday struck out a preliminary objection filed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) challenging a suit filed by a lawyer, Toluwani Yemi Adebiyi, against the proposed hike in electricity tariff across the country. The court also struck out an application seeking to discharge an order of court restraining NERC in concert with electricity distribution companies from increasing electricity tariff pending the determination of the suit. In his ruling, Justice Mohammed Idris, who first dealt with the preliminary objection, held that from the processes before him, the defendant (NERC) failed to comply with the mandatory provision of Order 29 Rule 4 of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules to the effect that such objection must be filed within 21 days after service. The judge disagreed with NERC’s counsel that the provision was discretionary, adding that the operating word “Shall” makes it mandatory for the court. “The objection is incompetent and it is hereby struck out having been filed outside the 21 days stipulated by Order 29 Rule 4,” Justice Idris ruled. Nigeria’s ex-president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, may be seeking a return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following a snub by president Muhammadu Buhari. Obasanjo, a former Army general, who publicly ripped his party membership card, is said to be planning a return to the PDP through the back door as his relationship with the Nigerian president has refused to improve. Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo may be on his way back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if reports are anything to go by Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo (left) may be on his way back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if reports are anything to go by. Pointblanknews.com gathered that the president rejected every attempt by the Ogun state-born politician to get close to him (Buhari), shortly after he won the March 28 presidential election. Obasanjo, who had publicly stated his preference for Buhari ahead of former president, Goodluck Jonathan, had reportedly made the first move to get cozy, with the establishment of a think tank to study critical areas of the economy and make recommendations to guide Buhari. The committee, established under the Centre for Human Security, an offshoot of Obasanjo’s Presidential Library, studied five key areas – education, power, the economy, security and infrastructure. Reports confirmed that Obasanjo did not only present the report to Buhari, he also positioned and presented Stephen Orosanye to the president as a possible candidate for the post of the Secretary to the Federation, SGF, which the Nigerian leader may not have favoured. Garba Shehu, Buhari’s chief spokesperson, had told reporters that the vice chairman of the committee and former minister of finance, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu, presented volumes of the report to Buhari in Abuja, but it was unclear if the president is looking towards that direction. And since it was gathered that Obasanjo’s ultimate goal was to be in the good books of Buhari and evade any form of scrutiny from his administration which seems not to be forthcoming, the Owu high chief may be seeking a return to the party which brought him into prominence. Pointblanknews.com further hinted that Obasanjo’s current move is to block any attempt to make immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan the BoT chairman of the party. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/obasanjo-seeking-return-to-pdp.html#sthash.HrUtK0zu.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove |

When a 16-year-old member of the famous Abogun family confessed that she was initiated into cultism and lesbianism by the younger sister of her uncle’s wife, her parents immediately contacted the police. The girl’s confession was made after she was caught while attempting to sneak out of the house with some items demanded by her cult members. The victim told the police that she was initiated last year through a friend who gave her some strange demands. She said: “it was Tope who introduced me into lesbianism and cultism early last year. On Friday, at about 7-8pm, I received a call from Tope that I should bring my red jacket, which is the cult uniform and a jack-knife for her. While I was attempting to sneak out of the house to meet her, I was accosted by my brothers who checked the bag I was carrying and found the cult jacket and the jack-knife. They called on my parents who demanded to know how I got those items. “Initially, she forced me into becoming her lesbian partner. She threatened me that if I failed to do it, my life was at stake. When I became her lover, we took a blood oath as Tope used a blade to cut my hand and licked the blood. She also cut her hand and asked me to lick the blood. She threatened that she must not see me with anyone, whether male or female but she was free to go out with others as she has other lovers. I have been her lover for over a year now and I became her lover before I completed my secondary education. “After Tope introduced me to lesbianism, she forced me into their cult. The night I was initiated into Aiye cult, I was blindfolded. Members of the cult gave me a gun to take an oath, declaring that I would not reveal anything about the cult to anyone. They said if I ever revealed anything about the cult to anyone, the same gun that I used to take the oath would be used to take my life. Thereafter, about twenty of the males present at the initiation slept with me one after the other. She then talked about her first sojourn into robbery and holding and safe keeping a gun for the cult. She continued:“Two months ago, I stole my father’s N50, 000 and gave to her. There was a time she gave me a gun to keep for her. I kept the gun in my book-shelf two days. She gave the gun to me because she said she couldn’t take it home. Later, she collected it and gave it to a member of the cult. I really don’t know what they use the weapon for. The red jacket which is the cult uniform was given to me by Segun. He is the leader of the Aiye cult. Since I became a member, I haven’t been able to go anywhere with them because of how difficult it is for me to leave home as my parents don’t allow me out after 6pm, and most of their activities are usually in the night. There was a time they asked me to trail my elder brother because they said he is arrogant.” The girl who allegedly gave her the gun, 18-year-old Tope (surname withheld) agreed that she gave the gun to Kemi because she was afraid of taking it home and denied that she was into cultism. According to her, “I have known Kemi from my childhood. I am a salesgirl. I was arrested because the victim said I introduced her into cultism and lesbianism but I am not a cultist, and she didn’t give me money. “I have not seen Kemi for more than a month now, since my birthday which I celebrated on June 21. Although they fired a gun at my birthday party, I don’t know who fired the gunshot but Samuel was with a gun that night, and I know that Samuel is a cultist and he attended my birthday party. It was a cult guy called Daddy that threatened that if I refuse to join their cult, he will deal with me and shoot me in the legs with a gun.” Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu revealed the names and age of the suspects. They are Temitope Famati, an 18-year-old lesbian, Ogunsan Kemi , another 20-year-old lesbian, Oseni Lukman, 30; Chidi Okafor, 25; Musa Kareem, 26; Austine Ebozoje, a 19- year-old pirate, Segun Sowumi, Olatokunbo Babatunde, 18; Gbelebu Samuel, 17 and Hussan Azeez, 30, are among the cultists arrested so far. It’s said that these cults recruit these young girls as armourers because they are not suspected like their male counterparts. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/photo-police-arrest-12-girls-over.html#sthash.MN8OkNrj.dpuf cc lalasticlala
