Ghanaian Comedian, Funny Face has revealed that his ex-wife’s hefty behind and hips were what lured him into marrying her and that it is a mistake he greatly regrets. Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, aka Funny Face is known in private life, said his “useless” marriage to Elisabeth Adjoa Ntim ended in divorce because she committed 36 ‘sins’ which were “worse than killing”.

In an interview with UTV Ghana Funny Face said and I quote; “My marriage was a useless mistake,”

Apart from rumours and speculations that his ex-wife was sleeping around with even friends of her husband’s, Funny Face said some of his ex-spouse’s other sins were worse than adultery. “I didn’t do my homework well before marrying her,” he said, adding that: “Big buttocks and a** and hips pushed me into marrying her.”

He said a tracker he installed in his ex-wife’s car recorded all her sins, which he has decided not to speak about since January 2016. According to him, his ex-wife’s sins forced him to “almost commit suicide but the gun wouldn’t shoot” when he pulled the trigger.

“What I’ve been through is worse than killing… I’ve moved on, but I’m hurt because of the lies people are peddling about me,” he said.

According to Funny Face, he has learnt his lessons and so did his homework in choosing his current partner whose character “I saw before I saw her buttocks”. He said “her vision, simplicity, what she wants to do in life and her love for kids” made him choose her.

I don't know why this country called Nigeria parades its self as the giant of African while they can't even get their armed forces to behave. What nonsense. Soldiers will be treating civilians like animals and police is worst.

And we have police IG that is always making mouth on how behaved his men are. SARS is the worst people you can ever think of having encounter with in the streets because they treat you like animal and they are the lawyer, judge and prison warders at the same time.

Imagine the video that is going viral on the social media on how a policeman was brutalizing a civilian for just exercising his rights. Forgive me to ask, are police officers above the law in this country. I am flabbergasted and this is disheartening.

This is pathetic nonetheless. Just because the guy didn't let the policemen to jump the queue and requested they stayed on queue like everyone else on the ATM, he received the beating of his life. What kind of thing is this in this country? They mobile policemen even released a gun shot.

FFK Warns Buhari Against Deployment Of Soldiers To Re-arrest IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Former Presidential Adviser and Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a warning to the FG and President Muhammadu Buhari against the deployment of soldiers and police to the South East and South South, in a bid to arrest leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In a series of posts on Twitter on Saturday, Fani-Kayode claimed Kanu was bigger than President Muhammadu Buhari. He tweeted:

“I learnt that more soldiers and police have been deployed to the SE and SS to prepare for the re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. “For the final time, I urge the FG to be restrained. You cannot fight 2 wars on 2 fronts all at once. Nnamdi Kanu is bigger than Buhari. He is a real lion.”

The Nigerian Police said it had increased the numerical strength of their personnel in the South-East and South-South zones of the country.

According Daily Post, the police said this was in a bid to prevent a breach of the peace, which may result from the activities of Biafran agitators ahead of the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

The police also said it was waiting for court pronouncement for the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

For those that doesn't know already, Oxlade-Chamberlain is no long an Arsenal FC players as he was bought by Liverpool on 31st August 2017 on transfer deadline day. Liverpool secured the services of the English winger for a price believed to be £35m.

But Chamberlain has infuriated Arsenal fans when he tweeted today that "We're in good form going into Man City game after beating Arsenal 4-0 last week". Needless to say, he was an Arsenal player and also was the part of the squad that played for Arsenal when they were humiliated to a 4-0 loss by Liverpool FC.

From crisis to fakes and to violence as police arrest more than 30 fake delegates at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship election primary which held on Saturday 26th August, 2017 in Awka, capital city of Anambra State.

A senior police officer told News Agency of Nigeria, NAN on condition of anonymity that more than 30 fake delegates have been arrested from the seven council areas that have participated in the primary. The source said that the number might likely increase as most of the delegates were ignorant of the screening method adopted by the panel.

The officer said fake delegates caught were moved to another location for further investigation. Alhaji Kashim Shettima, the Chairman of the election committee and Governor of Borno State, told stakeholders before the election that the conduct of the primary would be thorough.

Shettima said that delegates must identify themselves with any international passport, INEC permanent voters’ Card, National Identity card or driver’s license before he or she would vote before the person would vote.

He said neither President Muhammadu Buhari nor the APC national leadership has a favoured governorship candidate in Anambra state. Shettima explained that what was upper most in the mind of the party was to conduct free, fair and acceptable governorship primary that would usher in a candidate that every APC member in the state will support for Nov. 18 poll.

Because of the stringent condition, the process has been very slow as only seven out of the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra have voted as at 10.30 pm on Saturday. The accreditation of delegates which held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka commenced at noon and after that delegates were conveyed to Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in a hired Chisco Luxury Buses.

The venue witnessed heavy presence of police and civil defence personnel to maintain law and order. A delegate from Orumba North Local Government Area told NAN at the venue that names of authentic delegates from seven wards in Orumba were fraudulently changed.

Eleven aspirants are contesting the governorship primaries in Anambra. They are Senator Andy Ubah, Hon. Tony Nwoye, Mr. George Muoghalu, Chief Bart Nwibe, Mr. Obinna Uzor and six others.

The fight is over guys and yet the one and only "money man" came out victorious. Floyd Mayweather Jr. show again why he is called the face of boxing for more than a decade and the money man as he punctuated a stellar yet controversial career with a technical knockout over U.F.C. champ and first-time boxer Conor McGregor on Sunday morning.

In the 10th round of a surprisingly competitive fight, Mayweather backed McGregor onto the ropes with a series of rights and lefts. McGregor’s face was completely bloodied. He was about to fall through the ropes, and the referee stepped in to stop the fight with 1:55 remaining in the round.

“I gave the fans what they wanted to see,” Mayweather said after the fight. “I told them that I owed them for the Pacquiao fight. I must come straight ahead and give them a show.”

The victory improved Mayweather’s record to 50-0, and allowed the typically defensive fighter to say farewell in thrilling fashion in what he said was his last fight. It also proved right the naysayers who said that this fight was nothing more than a glorified, money-making exhibition.

Mayweather said the fight was not going to go the distance, and he delivered on that promise. Things went just the way that most pundits said they would. McGregor would have no way of connecting cleanly with Mayweather. He landed a few touch punches but nothing solid the entire fight. And given that U.F.C. fights are much shorter than boxing matches, McGregor’s stamina was in question. And he certainly seemed to tire in the late rounds as Mayweather made easy work of him.

Although McGregor is one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts, he had not boxed since he was a teenager, and had no professional boxing matches under his belt.

The fight was fashioned on the strength of two bombastic personalities with huge fan bases, making for a ripe promotional draw. It was expected to pull more than half a billion dollars in revenue. The pull of the money was so strong that Mayweather ended his two-year retirement to step into the ring with McGregor. To many, the fight was more exhibition than authentic

Paul Pogba named the 2016-17 Europa League Player of the Year as he beats out competition from Manchester United team-mates Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United play-maker, Paul Pogba has been named the Europa League Player of the Season for his performances in Manchester United's victorious 2016-17 campaign. This is the first time UEFA have dished out a Europa League Player of the Year award.

Pogba claimed the award ahead of his United team-mates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who were also nominated for the gong. The midfielder posted a photo of himself clutching the trophy with the caption: 'Very honoured for the Europa League Player of the Season 2016-17. Big thanks to all'.

UEFA announced Pogba had received the individual award in a video which played at Friday's 2017-18 Europa League group stage draw in Monaco. Pogba made 15 appearances in last season's Europa League and scored three goals, including the opener in United's 2-0 victory over Ajax in the final.

United's victorious stars dominated the Europa League Squad of the Season - with Pogba, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan joining team-mates Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera in the 18-man selection.

The Federal Government of Nigeria yesterday advised beneficiaries of the amnesty programme in the Niger Delta region to prepare for life after oil.

Speaking at a forum to mark the United Nations 2017 International Youth Day, Presidential Adviser on the Amnesty Programme, rtd Gen Paul Boro, urged the youths to make use of the skills, knowledge and experience they gained during training.

“Since it has become clear that oil will not last forever, there is need to prepare the youths for the future”, Boro said.

He noted that the federal amnesty programme had the mandate to train 30,000 youths, out of which it had already trained 16,000.

Rivers state Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Oliver Wolugbom, expressed concern that Nigerian youths were increasingly engaged in kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, thuggery and other acts.

“It is equally a source of concern that all the centrifugal forces such as separatist movements by ethnic bodies and their accompanying hate speeches are being bandied by the youths”. “For peace to be built in the society, the youths must be properly positioned while the leadership re-strategise to plan”.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has finally admitted that his administration did not plug all loopholes in its bid to cub corruption in the country.

Dr. Jonathan however, said it was wrong to assume that the economy would have been in a worse shape if he was not kicked out of power in 2015. He spoke at the Eagles Square, Abuja on Saturday during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, non- elective national convention.

He was flanked by his former deputy, Namadi Sambo, some serving and former governors, and chieftains of the party. Jonathan also pointed at the 2012 flood in the country as a major set back to his government.

According to him:

“Though we didn’t completely plug the loopholes in the fight against corruption, but we did well. “I learnt that some people said that if the PDP had remained in power beyond 2015, the economy would have been worse. This couldn’t have been the case, because we had a sound economic team in place.

“Let us not forget that the great floods of 2012 were a major calamity that damaged homes and farmlands on the plains of River Niger and Benue.

“But despite the devastating effects of this natural disaster, there were no food shortages or arbitrary increase in prices, because of what we were able to accomplish with our agriculture transformation agenda, which considerably boosted food production.

“If we say that we rekindled hope in our people and regained international goodwill, it is because we pursued a number of policies and programmes that were not only richly rewarding for our people, but were also being copied by many countries across the globe, a few of which I will mention here.”

Army Has Not Staged Coup Again In Nigeria Because I Retired 93 Offers In A Day - Ex President, Obasanjo

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has claimed that his decision to suddenly retire 93 officers in a day ensured that the Nigeria Army was rid of officers capable of staging coup d’état, saying the action is responsible for the survival of the Fourth Republic.

He also said that even though the measure was not ideal, it was the only option at that time that was capable of making the military a truly professional institution. Obasanjo, who said this in a book he co-authored with three other people entitled: "Making Africa Work", explained that he specifically retired officers, who had either participated in coups or enjoyed the benefits of coups.

In his words:

“A coup is a treason punishable by death only if it fails, and yet it puts the plotter in the State House if it succeeds. It was a destructive and destabilising practice, wasteful for the military itself, and undermining in terms of discipline, good order, and military conduct.

“A junior officer takes a gun and looks at his political boss and senior officers through its sights, bumps them off and puts himself in the State House. “He instantly becomes superior and senior to all political and military officers. Such was the situation existing in Nigeria between 1966 and 1999.

“On assuming office as President, I decided to put an end to these incessant coups. I asked the military to submit the list of all officers who had either participated in coups in the past or benefited in the dividends of coups by being appointed to political office as governors or ministers. “Not knowing what the list was meant for, the military faithfully compiled it and submitted to me as the Commander-in-Chief and chairman of the council of each of the arms of service.

Ninety-three officers in all were given six hours notice of retirement on a Friday and ordered not to spend the Friday night in uniform or in barracks to prevent an adverse reaction.

“The following Monday, the service council met to ratify the retirement of all the officers. From my vantage position and background as a battle-tested and war-victorious general, I knew that an officer out of uniform and barracks is like a fish out of water, and their power and influence would be greatly diminished. “The retirement of these 93 officers all in one day was salutary. It meant that taking part in a coup and benefitting from one could catch up with you, no matter how long it would take, and for as long as you are alive.

“Some of them later entered politics and became elected governors; some went into parliament; others got appointed as ministers and ambassadors. “The idea was not to punish them for life but to exclude them from positions in the military where they could be coup planners, coup plotters, coup executors or coup beneficiaries. “And once an officer has tasted the trappings of a political life, of living in a government house, with free food and so on, he would easily look for excuses to want more if he is in a position to make it happen.

“The fact that since 1999, there has not been a coup or an attempted coup in Nigeria speaks to the effectiveness of the measures taken to put an end to the destabilizing influence of coups on the political life and dispensation of Nigeria. “Before 1999, and since independence, the longest that a democratic dispensation had lasted was six years - from 1960 to 1966.

“It has neither been easy nor perfect, but there are improvements and evidence of learning among the political class. Any bad signs and misconduct would have to be carefully monitored.”
