The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has revealed plans to prosecute 130 staffs of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over their alleged involvement in corrupt practices. It all seem to me that EFCC are fighting to be relevant in the government. The Head of Operations for the commission's Gombe Zonal office, Aminu Ado Aliyu, while briefing newsmen in Gombe on Thursday, October 20, said that the 130 INEC staffs collected funds to the tune of N73 million during the 2015 elections. According to him, EFCC has recovered N183, 590, 000 from politicians within the zone which is part of illegally sourced funds which was used in the 2015 general elections. “In line with this, a total of 130 staff drawn from Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba states have been interrogated and will soon be charged to court for corruption involving the sum of N73 million bribe during the 2015 polls. “The breakdown of the INEC staff interrogated by the EFCC shows that Gombe has 26 suspects, Adamawa has 86 and Taraba has 18 respectively, who collected the bribe which we have since recovered from them,” Aliyu said. For the time being, EFCC has reportedly recovered over N196m on financial crimes during several operations in Borno from November 2015 till date. The EFCC Head of Operation in the state, Ibrahim Bappa, disclosed in a statement that the commission has also recovered N2.8 million for victims following petitions received and acted upon within the zone. more details @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/financial-crime-commission-efcc-set-to.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy ishilove missyb

Unbelievable scene is playing out in UNILAG and explaining it is very difficult. Reports has it tat the management of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, has announced the expulsion of 125 students. It also rusticated 198 others for various offences, including examination malpractices during last academic session. The lists of the affected students were published on the university’s website on Sunday. The institution’s Deputy Registrar (Information), Mr Toyin Adebule, on Sunday disclosed that the university “will soon publish and display the names and photographs of the students in the media’’. He said that the action was in line with the university’s zero tolerance on malpractices and other vices in campus. “We have published some names on our website and these students will be punished in various degrees, depending on the severity. “Last session, a number of students were caught in various forms of malpractices during their examinations. “Some were found cheating during the examination with “micro sheets” while others were hired as surrogates to write papers for others. “Others were caught smoking weeds (Marijuana) right in their halls of residence by their colleagues and reported to the university authorities. “For those who were caught impersonating, writing examinations for others, they will face outright expulsion,’’ Adebule said. Adebule said the other categories of students, such as those caught with micro sheets and the smokers, would face suspension ranging from two to four semesters. “In other to get the desired effect of their various punishments, we are planning to publish all their names as well as display their photographs all over the campus in the next one week. “We shall carry out this measure in all the departments and faculties in the institution. “This is to help the university ensure that the affected students will have nowhere to hibernate on campus. “By doing this, the affected students would know that the university want to ensure total compliance to the sanction and would not want to be seen anywhere around the campus,’’ he said. more on this article @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/shocking-university-of-lagos-unilag.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy ishilove missyb

Not less than 91 men and 50 women have been registered in Birninkudu Local Government Area to participate in mass wedding according to an article on NAN. The wedding will reportedly be sponsored and organised by the Jigawa Government of the state. The Local Government Information Officer, Alhaji Mustafa Namadi, made the revelation on Sunday, October 16, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse. According to him, 10 couples already agreed to get married. He said that the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the wedding in the area, Malam Idris Yakubu, made a call to traditional as well as religious leaders to enlighten their followers on the importance of the programme. Yakubu reportedly made the call when members of the committee paid a visit to the District Head of Birninkudu, Alhaji Garba Hassan, in his place on Friday, October 14. According to Namadi, the LOC chairman said that religious leaders play an important role in ensuring the success of the programme. Namadi and Yakubu jointly appealed to the leaders particularly imams, to sensitise the public at the weekly Friday sermons in their respective communities. He added that the district head also promised to hold a meeting with the village and ward heads, enlightening them on the need to support the programme. The herdsmen have struck again and this time they attacked Jema’a local government council area of Kaduna state. Subsequently, a 24 hour curfew has been imposed on the entire local government. The attack led to the death of over 20 persons including security personnel in Godogodo chiefdom. According to Leadership, the herdsmen took control of the Godogodo chiefdom, since Saturday, October 15, around 6 pm. They then attacked a military outpost advanced to other villages and killed about 20 people and burnt several houses in the area. The dastardly activities of this heavily armed herdsmen led to increased tension between the Christian community and the Hausa/Fulani Muslims in Kafanchan, the headquarters of the local government which led to the curfew. Dr Bege Katuka the interim management committee chairman, of Jema’a council area, announced the curfew and then advised all residents to remain indoors until the situation was under control. A survivor of the herdsmen attacks, Mr Zamani Andy said that the village had been invaded by the armed men for two days with a substantial part of the town razed; women and children killed in the fires. He said: “Some who tried to escape where shot or cut down with machete, the herdsmen have taken over the chiefdom, the chief is on exile, nobody know is where about as speak with you.” A local community leader who also barely escaped narrated: “Last Saturday, around 6pm, we heard gunshots from around Anguwan Ninzon area. As people were running, women and children screaming. I saw many Fulani men carrying heavy guns and just shooting at people. “Some houses were set on fire with people inside. If I tell you how I managed to escaped, I will say I’m lying. I just followed some old men and we ran through a bush path with shootings going on all over the town. Some were shot, but many of us escaped.” more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/herdsmen-panic-20-killed-as-fulani.html

Patience Jonathan, a former First Lady of Nigeria and the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, is one of those who can strongly disagree with President Muhammadu Buhari on his views about women’s place in the society. Recall that earlier today the president has laughed off his wife’s statement about his plans of re-election in 2019 and pateince doesn't want to be left out on the trends and reactions, so she seizes the opportunity to get her swipe at Mr. President. During a joint press briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel he said: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” However, Dame Jonathan, who is known for her work towards advancing the rights of women and children, called on Nigerian women and girls to stop limiting themselves, go out of the shadow and expand horizons. Aisha In December, 2104 during the Presidential campaign Mrs Jonathan stated: “Nigerian women should no longer go back to the kitchen. It is not our portion to go back to the kitchen. We have women that are capable. We can contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria.” Garba Shehu, the official spokesperson to President Muhammadu Buhari, has hastened to explain the controversial statement of the president. Reacting to the development Garba Shehu: “My friends, can’t a leader get a sense humour anymore? Mr. President laughed before that statement was made.” He also stressed that President Buhari respects the place of women in our society and believes in their abilities. Mr Shehu mentioned that one of Nigeria’s most sensitive office today is headed by a woman, Mrs Adeosun. Sexism or gender discrimination is prejudice or discrimination based on a person’s sex or gender. Sexism can affect any gender, but it is particularly documented as affecting women and girls. It has been linked to stereotypes and gender roles, and may include the belief that one sex or gender is intrinsically superior to another. Extreme sexism may foster sexual harassment, rape, and other forms of sexual violence. more reactions @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/patience-jonathan-hits-back-at-buhari.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy ishilove missyb

The senate president Bukola Saraki will be happy were ever he is right now because he has been vindicated. Judging from the interview the First Lady, Aisha Buhari granted to BBC African which has been subject of scrutiny since yesterday, has simply vindicated Senate President, Bukola Saraki with her revelation that the Muhammadu Buhari government has been hijacked, Saraki’s aide says. According to the senate president’s media aide, Bamikole Omisore, Mrs Buhari comments are a confirmation of a similar alarm raised by Saraki in June. Aisha Buhari and Bukola Saraki both have the best interest of President Buhari at heart,’ Omisore said via Twitter on Friday, October 14. “Folks who campaigned for Buhari and APC & because they believe in him & manifestation of APC are being sidelined for those who don't,” he added. Omisore also confirmed the existence of a cabal in Buhari’s government during a chat with Premium Times. “It is true that we still believe that there’s a government within the government. We do believe that the president has good intention and we’re behind him. But a situation where a few people are in charge does not bode well for the image and the future of our country,” he said. A situation where people that work within the executive say one thing and other people that work in the same administration say and even do another thing. It shows that people are getting directives from different authorities. “Mrs. Buhari is our mother and she has come out to say that the way things are being run, where APC manifesto has been abandoned and the party completely left out of governance, should not continue for too long,” he added. Mrs Buhari made the comments during a recent interview with BBC and also warned that she would not campaign for her husband’s re-election of the current state of affairs persists. more tweets @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/aisha-buharis-bbc-interview-vindicates.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy missyb

This is not funny and this has been the thoughts in every Nigerians mind. That am the one saying it does not mean 99% of Nigeria doesn't share this view. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has revealed that there are spiritual forces in Aso Villa that prevent Presidents from performing their functions and serving Nigerians to the best of their abilities. Mr Abati who made this revelations in an article published in today’s Guardian recalled several incidences of fire outbreaks at the Aso Villa during his stay there. He also gave accounts of how Villa occupants suffered a myriad of health problems, including the former first lady Patience Jonathan. Read the full article below: People tend to be alarmed when the Nigerian Presidency takes certain decisions. They don’t think the decision makes sense. Sometimes, they wonder if something has not gone wrong with the thinking process at that highest level of the country. I have heard people insist that there is some form of witchcraft at work in the country’s seat of government. I am ordinarily not a superstitious person, but working in the Villa, I eventually became convinced that there must be something supernatural about power and closeness to it. I’ll start with a personal testimony. I was given an apartment to live in inside the Villa. It was furnished and equipped. But when my son, Michael arrived, one of my brothers came with a pastor who was supposed to stay in the apartment. But the man refused claiming that the Villa was full of evil spirits and that there would soon be a fire accident in the apartment. He complained about too much human sacrifice around the Villa and advised that my family must never sleep overnight inside the Villa. I thought the man was talking nonsense and he wanted the luxury of a hotel accommodation. But he turned out to be right. The day I hosted family friends in that apartment and they slept overnight, there was indeed a fire accident. The guests escaped and they were so thankful. Not long after, the President’s physician living two compounds away had a fire accident in his home. He and his children could have died. He escaped with bruises. First of all, i do not want to antagonize anybody or the lady who pictures appeared in this post. I think it is very necessary to talk about code of dressing for especially "big girls". Bearing in mind that what fits a size 10 lady will not fit a size 30 lady. Slim is different from big. Why is it difficult for ladies to understand? This is for educational purposes. Over the years i have been an ardent critic of these ladies that thinks what is good for Nkechi will also be good for Funke. Take a look the big girl in the picture and tell me what kind of party dressing is that. Is it morally right? I mean a slim lady can dress like that and still look decent enough but not her. Please ladies, if you are bigger than her or the same size with her, please, please, please, have some decency and wear something that matches and covers. You know what i mean. Men will always love you with a decent outfit. The only man that will love you dressed like this is the one that wants to get into your pants and move on. Be wise. - more pics @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/lets-talk-party-dressing-is-this-wired.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy ishilove missyb

The accused Mr. Onyia was accused of issuing a Fidelity Bank dud cheque number 17598860 dated April 8, 2015 of N3 million in favour of one Emeka Okonkwo. The statement said the offence contravened the Dishonored Cheques Offences Act, Cap D11, Laws of the Federation, 2004. It also alleged that the accused, formerly of EMEL Group of Companies in Lagos, had in January 2015 got a N3 million loan from Okonkwo to enable him to import baby diapers. The deal, according to the EFCC, was an agreement to pay an interest of N1.5 million in return for the capital. However, the accused was alleged to have at various times issued six post-dated cheques to the complainant after failing to pay the capital and interest. When the charges were read, Onyia pleaded not guilty. The prosecution counsel, Mr Muhammad Shehu, prayed the court to remand him in prison custody. However, the defence counsel, Mr C. B. Onovo, applied for bail on the strength of a motion for bail dated Oct. 10 and filed on Oct. 11. Meanwhile, the EFCC said that after a thorough investigation, it discovered that the company the accused fronted, Alteal Enterprises, was fictitious and without presence in the registered address. The commission alleged that further investigations revealed that the accused fraudulently entered into the deal to use the loan to offset debts incurred from his former office which led to his dismissal. In his ruling, Justice C.O. Ajah granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 and one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case to Nov. 7 for trial. Sabi instead EFCC go prosecute better case like Patience Jonathan, na this one they won prosecute. Daddy Freeze as he is popularly called is COOL FM OAP who can be described as one of the top voices of Lagos radio because of his controversial attitude and he is on it again. He has jumped in to defend OAP Toke Makinwa for making the below statement on radio station: In the video Toke Makinwa tells young women below the age of 25 to live their lives to the fullest. She says they should have one night stands, kiss strangers, have tattoos and piercings. See The video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyxgqliF1Xs This thought created controversy and the conservative base of Nigerian Twitter and the army of Toke Makinwa haters. The anti-Toke Makinwa movement spilt over to this week as more people tweeted their apparent disgust at the media celebrity for her views. Daddy Freeze predictably has shared his thoughts today about Toke Makinwa's video and comes to her defence. He starts his opinion piece on Instagram as a letter. "I watched your vlog, and I understand that you were trying to express thoughts, that many people nurse in the depths of their minds, hidden far away from public scrutiny. You, on the other hand do not enjoy that immunity, being a successful public figure. We Nigerians, are extremely judgmental, and love to seek fuel for jungle justice, which has one way or the other, migrated into our social media scene, where online courts are quickly formed, justice is speedily given and executions are promptly carried out, without any mercy whatsoever. Most people do not have the cognitive depth to assimilate the message you were trying to pass across and have employed their fertile imagination to fuel it into becoming what it has evolved into. God bless and keep you dear!" It's good to see people in the same line of business defending themselves, and it is good too to see people in the media leaning towards liberal lifestyles. But the thing is: Is what she said morally right?? - What is your take?? http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/freeze-defends-oap-makinwa-for-saying.html

Two siblings were found guilty by an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos State on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, on the three-counts charges that were preferred against them. The charges were conspiracy, forgery and stealing and the presiding Magistrate, Magistrate A. T. Omoyele, sentenced them to one year imprisonment on each of the counts without an option of fine. The prosecuting police officer, Sergeant Cyriacus Osuji, had earlier told the court that the Momohs had hacked into an e-mail account belonging to one Segun Omolodun and thereafter forged a letter in his name to his friend, Kehinde Olaniyan. The letter requested Olaniyan to transfer N280,000 into Zememoi’s Diamond Bank account, which she did. But the bubble burst on them when Omolodun reported to the police that his account had been hacked and a letter purportedly emanating from him to his friend was fake. After a thorough investigation, the account was traced to Zememoi and she and her brother were arrested. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/10/crime-siblings-jailed-3yrs-each-for.html cc lalasticlala mynd44 obinoscopy missyb
