Abagworo:
Owerri inspite of being small in landmass and population is the second most bubbling city in the entire East after Port-Harcourt.You cannot get Hotel accommodation in Owerri during weekends. It is probably the most saturated city in Nigeria in terms of available Hotel room space.Owerri is also the most mordern city in the East.
But of course you're not biased at all. grin

romeo:
PH is not in the East
What? Geographically Port Harcourt is in Eastern Nigeria and is very close to Owere, so when we're talking about economy of each city they will have some sort of impact on the other. We're not talking about nonsense Nigerian politics.

Please, the east doesn't need anything like "Dubai", other places can have that. Build infrastructure and rest will take place. How I wish Nigeria will hurry up and dismiss.
I think I can speak for where I'm from. Anioma is STRICTLY Igboland. Just like any other ethnic land, non-indigenous people have come in and mixed in with the people of land which they arrived. This is nothing new.  If we are to go down your line we can also say that yoruba land is not strictly yoruba because of the high amount of Igbo settlers there. The same goes for Hausaland.
Exactly, just like there were some Igbo migrations in Urhobo land, Igbo man doesn't have the time to be arguing Urhobo history with Urhobo people. grin
CultureRe: Igbo Recognised As An Official Language In The UK by ezeagu(m): 8:59pm On Aug 03, 2011
I believe the deadline for the census has long passed.

Great.

What needs to happen in order for Igbo to be taught in foreign schools is to show that it is a language that is spoken by many people, which means Igbo people have to start encouraging Igbo language.

No one is desperate to make Anioma part of Igboland. Once Anioma state is given, you will see what your efforts on nairaland have amounted to. grin

Is it the semitic Igbo-Odudwa origin, or the Eri Nri children of a man called Igbo?

Migration can happen in an unoccupied land. I'm sure you realised this while replying.

exotik:
and the stereotype of juju and witchcraft is associated with all nigerian groups and africans in general. and well it is what it is, "influential" culture otherwise known as juju and witchcraft that they used to dominate the people. and oh, plus cannibalism that is unique to igbos and their eastern kin in nigeria cos i think nri ate a lot of the ingenious people.
Well, it's not Nri (or any other Igbo town, maybe except Agbor) that has  a stereotype of witches flying in the night or certain types of supernatural behaviour in animals, such as vultures, or mass rituals at monarchs funerals. I'll leave you to the insults though, because it seems its all you have now in your desperation to show how the Ani Oma are non-Igbo (despite the fact that the official language of the state will be Igbo, from Ugbodu to Igbanke and maybe even Ozarra grin shocked).
CultureRe: Ézè Ǹrì gi gá Frontier Culture Museum | Nigerian king to visit FCM by ezeagu(op): 7:46pm On Aug 03, 2011
I found a quote from an Amaigbo group (the place where many southern Igbo traditions point to).

The name Amaigbo means the street or meeting center (Ama) of the Igbo Civilization, for such (Eastern and Southern) Igbo groups as the Ohuhu, Ngwa, Mbaise, Ndoni, and Cross River Igbo the role of the Nri Kingdom (cradle of Igbo Civilization) is occupied by Amaigbo Civilizaition in the Orlu area, In the oral tradition of the Igbo groups mentioned, it was from Amaigbo that their founding ancestors/ancestress dispersed, while Nri Kingdom is more of the spiritual center of Igbo Civilization in general, Amaigbo represents more of the ancestral factor (particularly among the Southern and Eastern Igbo), these two centers are in North Central uplands (Nsukka-Afikpo-Awka-Orlu) of Igbo Civilization which is referred to as the heartland and the earliest area of settlement in Igboland,

why didn't the so-called influential nri fail to assimilated the yorubas in anioma?
Because the Yoruba migrated much later after the Nri. Simple thing if you read and try to understand the history of the people you are talking about. Plus you need to check your posts more often.

That's the reason.
