This propaganda is the major reason why the US and the rest of the international community are dragging their feet in terms of interventions. A problem that clearly started within the Arab world and is being fuelled from within is now being blamed on US - NATO! shocked

The Libyans are busy begging the world to come to their aid and even before the world makes a move, these folks have started creating conspiracy theories. Anything the US does or does not do they get bad-mouthed for it. When they try to help, they are accused of having a hidden agenda. When they allow the people solve their own problems, they get accused of supporting dictators!!!

All I can say is people will never be satisfied with the US and other members of the OECD irrespective of how honest or dishonest their actions are.
Good response.

These moves were followed up with the gradual subjugation of various autonomous Igbo groups, starting with the Aguleri (1892), Akwete, Obiohia and Ohuhu (1896), Anioma/western Igbo (the Ekumeku, 1898-1910), the Aro (1901-1902), and Onitsha hinterland (areas within Ogrugu, Onitsha and Oguta in 1904). Others were the Ezza and Ahiara Mbaise (1905), Isuikwuato and Ishiagu (1907), the Udi-Okigwe area (1914), and the Ikwo (1918).

I realize that, and that's why I'm wondering if it's only me that sees that those dates don't add up. According to the numbers, Eri settled in the 10th century, while Nri hegemony dates 9th century (before Eri), and. . . the first Eze Nri didn't surface until the 11th century (or according to a some historians, 13th century). Can't reconcile that, is all I'm saying. Someone somewhere's got their information mixed up.
The traditional date is the 10th century. From the Igbo Ukwu finding, Nri may go back as far as the 9th century. Their date might be too late or they are missing something like you said.

The questions is, where was your pen knife when Yoruba military men spanked your biafran a/ss before you end up surrendering to another Yoruba military man?

You are entitled to your delusions and dreams, but not to your real life facts and history,
Can you imagine the embarrassing spectacle of people bragging about being British pet monkeys, they think they actually fought a war themselves. Try and stand on your own two feet instead of relying on British/USSR victories. The Biafran military is regularly applauded for its single handed fight against 2 major super powers who used zombie Africans as a front. Waste.

Thurstan Shaw (head of the excavation of Igbo Ukwu) said that the excavation at on of the Igbo's (Igbo Jonah or Igbo Isaiah, I can't remember) might be an Eze Nri (the reconstruction posted above). If that were true, then Nri's traditional founding date in the 9th century may be proven true through the carbon dating (the thing they use to test the age of wood, bronze, etc). People should know that the places where these 'Igbo Ukwu' pieces were rediscovered were peoples homes, and the site was actually part of the neighbouring Nri town of Oraeri before (I think, founded by one of Eri's grandon's by the same name). Most of the items seemed to have been buried on purpose. They found a skull but was too broken to do anything with. What if the man buried was Eri? shocked

With the people involved, no ones opinion is going to change, so it's best that the people speaking the truth work on trying to prove their theory true without flaws instead of trying to convince a side that's trying to convince you. I'll say that I don't believe the Edo came from the Yoruba, or the Yoruba came from the Edo, but the kingship thing. . . . . . that's all I'll say.

Omenani:
What about neighboring Igbo communities? You know how we Igbos like to borrow from other cultures besides spreading our culture as well.
Do you mean if Igbo people borrowed the Kalabari style and the top hats. I'll say they didn't, what the Igbo got from the Ijaw probably is the crocodile and fish masks (the one they wear on the head) even then some of the original Igbo masquerades were shared with the Kalabari. Igbo people are more strict with spiritual matters and don't borrow too often if at all. The Igbo most borrowed from the Ibibio, then it will be the Edo and then the Ijaw (maybe).

From the style and they usually carve their ancestor on the wall hangings like that, I haven't seen Igbo people doing that, they don't usually carve their ancestors at all I don't think, there are exceptions. Here are other Kalabari ancestor shrines.

Edit: Sorry I don't know why I said Igbo people don't carve their ancestors. That's wrong.
