Just think, these were 20 people alive yesterday, thinking about the other hundreds of people killed before.
Just imagine, there are people alive now that will leave as numbers in the newspapers to Boko Haram. 20 people who were probably greeted with happiness and smiles at birth. 20 people who had potential and probably believed they would see their old age, or marry, or settle down and have grandchildren. 20 people who were planning for the weekend and imagined themselves next week, for next year, for the next 30 years even. 20 people who have been growing until this very moment when a few seconds, just a narrow amount of time, were terminated and all they could be turned into a number. Gone.
We must remember that these are lives, and not just numbers. It will put things into better perspective. |

LAX89: Btw, I'm not in anyway propagating any affinity between Igbos and Jews, I could care less. But I'm a student of history, so I'll let science/ archaeologists determine what the facts are. And, France did NOT help in a selfless proactive sense. France was looking for more supportive colonies in West Africa, and they still do now. If they had seriously and proactively helped Biafra, Nigeria would've had a different Map today. Don't forget, France had substantial global power and dominance at the time. France supported the idea of an independent Biafra that was sympathetic to their world view at the time, and they hoped it would work, but they never directly and forcefully assisted Biafra, they ideologically assisted through Ivory Coast, hence Ojukwu ended up in Ivory Coast. France sent Doctors without Borders, and I believe many of the priests that were in the camps were French. They helped. I already know much of what you wrote. However to imply Israel was selflessly helping Biafra is also incorrect. The Egyptian government was helping the Nigerians so it may have been seen as another frontier or proxy battle between the Jews and the Egyptians. Furthermore, the rhetoric about how the Igbo people being slaughtered and hence treated like the 'Jews of Africa' lead to Israel's sympathy, especially against a largely Islamic state, and coming from genocide 20 years prior. It is this help that has lead to a lot of fanatical support of Israel by a few Igbo people, while the Israeli's themselves don't really much care. Oil was also recently discovered in Biafra. The so called emissaries from Israel who come to investigate 'Igbo Jews' are more than likely coming to inspect prime territory and resources that they can cut into in this easily exploited continent. It would work almost completely in Israel's favour and Israel's favour alone for the Igbo people to believe them their fathers and convert to Judaism, that would be the soft power they need to secure a richly resourced piece of Africa, just like other major religions had tactically done, hence the missionaries. If this is not the case, again, why is there no question as to whether Israel descended from Igboland instead? Why is that out of the question? There you have it. |

Don't forget, Israel was ONLY 19 years old then, and were still fragile, but they risked everything to help the IGBOs. France also helped, it has little to do with Igbo people being 'Jews'. |

The cat is going down, from the cats stance alone, you can see that it is resting forward, meaning it is balancing on it's weight on it's leg forward, if it was going up the leg would be positioned closer to the centre of its gravity to balance itself as it goes up. The cat is also using its tail for balance.

bigfrancis21: Igbo Ukwu beads were discovered to be strikingly similar to those found in Egypt. My point of argument all along has been that the breakaway Hebraic group of a few individuals who might have journeyed into Igboland from Egypt were in their original form - black, who on arriving Igboland settled in the Nri axis, and established their lineage there, also integrating into the greater Igbo community. They might have also brought with them relics and mnemonics of their stay in Egypt. Y-DNA studies till today confirms only 89% of Igbo males have sub-saharan fathers. The origin of 11% is yet to be accounted for. That 11% could be from somewhere else in Africa, or maybe from somewhere else. From my understanding, the beads were acquired through trade networks in the 9th century, if I'm not mistaken, from various areas well after the dynastic periods of Egypt. Igbo Ukwu dating comes way after any purported migrations out of Egypt. The DNA thing is news to me, all the Igbo people I've seen taken the DNA tests have come out 100% 'sub-Saharan'. bigfrancis21: Don't get it twisted bro. The world and its civilizations today as we know it started in Egypt and Egypt is in Africa. Ancient Egyptians said themselves that they originated from the land of punt and the area of punt is generally agreed to be around the sudanese-ugandan area. Several egytian mummies have been proven to be black from DNA testing. For over 300 years, ancient hebrews sojourned and lived in the land of egypt, the land of ham/khawm (black) and were indistinguishable physically from each other such that Joseph's brothers could not tell Joseph apart from the Egyptians though he recognized them as his brothers. Moses, a Hebrew, grew up in the house of the egyptian pharoah for 40 years as his grandson and pharoah, not for one day, could not tell that Moses was not egyptian, yet he was Hebrew. St. Paul during his preaching in the middle east of the bible, was often mistaken as 'that egyptian' and all the time he had to assert his hebrewness to the people. Why would Hebrews and Egyptians often be confused as one if they weren't almost alike, if not fully, in the first place? Common sense would tell you that both the ancient egyptians and hebrews had to be originally black people at that time. The founder of egypt (mizraim) is one of the sons of Ham.
That point in time when Hebrews lived in Egypt refers to the period the ancient hebrews were in their original form and it is likely that it is in that original black/brown form the hebraic group that journeyed southwards towards Igboland broke away and arrived the Nri axis, carrying with them several hebraic traditions.
So each time I mention Egypt, I am referring spefically to black egypt. Modern egyptians are not the ancient egyptians Herodotus wrote of and described in his book as 'black with wooly hair'. They are descendants of invaders into ancient egypt who settled in egypt and interbred over the generations, such that the generations lightened up over the years. This is called, breeding out the colour and was a policy australians in the first half of the 20th century propagated to integrate the fewer aboriginal black australian population into the greater white population by interbreeding the black aboriginals (killing of the aboriginal males, and breeding the black women with white males, since kids often tend to take after their father's culture) to produce the first-generation biracial kids, much lighter than their black parents, and on further interbreeding of the biracials with white spouses would produce the 2nd generation biracials who look every inch like the general white population, seeing that it only takes 3 generations to turn a black man into a white man, and vice versa. Ancient black egyptians can still be found in egypt today as you move further down south you would find them there. I wan't challenging the blackness of whoever, I was criticising the propaganda of the British government. The Igbo language has nothing in common with Afro-Asiatic languages. There's just no solid evidence. |

bigfrancis21: Not necessarily migrated from Israel but from Egypt during the time of stay of the ancient hebrews in Egypy, given the manifestation of Egyptian influence on Igbo Ukwu pottery and similar pyramid structures between the Igbo pyramids and the steppe pyramids of egypt.
Notice that hebrew is pronounced natively as 'ibri' in hebrew language and the language is pronounced as 'ibrit'/'ibrit'. You need no soothsayer to point out the striking similarity to 'ibo'/'igbo'. I've never heard of Egyptian influence on Igbo Ukwu, most of the conventions follow todays northern Igbo culture. Step pyramids don't necessarily have to be from Egyptian pyramids, especially when there are step pyramids in South America. The 'Ibri' theory doesn't sound solid enough. The whole 'Jew' thing sounds far-fetched to me. There's no solid evidence, and the whole conversation sounds very paternalistic, and yes, racist. Notice how there's no balanced discussion as to whether 1. Israelites were influenced by the Igbo people seeing as, through archaeology, they've been in this land long before Israel was founded and 2. whether the customs of the Igbo people is what the Israelis should be picking up, not Igbo people picking up Ashkenazi customs and travelling to racist Israel. What if this is their original home and 'Ibri' is a corruption of 'Igbo'? There's a clear power dynamic here and Israel is being seen as superior. I don't buy it. |

bigfrancis21: No one is asking Israel to open its gates and flood its country with millions of Igbos. The main issue at hand is that an ancestral connection between certain areas in Igboland and ancient hebrews can be established without any need for aliyah (return to israel) and if at all any authentic number should be granted return rights, that number would be run in hundreds of thousands, given that not all Igbos might have that connection given that Igbo clans migrated from different areas at different points in history. Take example, the falasha jews of ethiopia. Now, not all ethiopians have jewish connections but only a fraction of them. The intimidating number of Igbos has been the main deterrent factor keeping Israel from making a formal proclamation on Igbo-Hebraic discussions that have been going on for decades now. Israeli authorities have neither denied outrightly any connections (which leads me to believe they see some truth in Igbo-Hebraic discussions, for if they don't they would simply deny it outright) nor accepted it. In addition, Israel is such a tiny country that would barely contain an extra 5 million people.
After ancient relations might have been established, Aliyah needs not take place whatsoever. It would imply moving over to a foreign land, and losing your tribal identity, language and african pride into adopting a non-african one. I would say that what Israel can do is to join hands with SE/SS Nigeria (and maybe Benue state, seeing that majority are christians and rightly fall under christian southern Nigeria rather than North central where they have been wrongfully lumped together with muslims) into achieving an independent state for its people (I would recommend an entirely name for this new country, rather than 'biafra' which invokes quite obnoxious memories in the minds of many) with Igbo, Ibibio/Efik and Ijaw being 3 major official languages, alongside English. Trade and official relations between both countries can be strengthened and this new country of southern Nigeria can fluorish by its might into a great country of its own, one that people would queue up day and night at its embassies abroad to obtain a mere visitors visa. So are you saying that you believe certain parts of Igbo people migrated all the way from Israel and are 'Jews'? |

The entire fraud theory has been marketed by the king of Aguleri to legitimise some kind of title that say he's supposedly the 'King of the Igbos', a title that's never existed. The Eri and Nri children are constantly competing in everything, including the right to be recognised as a false paramount ruler of Igboland. They've even had communal clashes in recent times resulting in hundreds dead in the 90s.
No one else in Igboland are as excitable about this theory as the priest-kings of the Eri and Nri children, go figures since no one else hasn't anything to claim predomination of power over the rest of the Igbo. This is how some descendants of 20th century warrant chiefs are calling their villages 'ancient kingdoms'. You can't pick up every wacky theory and run with it. |

They're the one who started the hebrew-Igbo theory, I just went and researched it. Actually, they weren't, missionaries and colonial governments started the theory to justify their colonisation of the area, i.e the Igbo people colonised the area so we're carrying on a tradition of subjugating people in the area. The theory is white-supremacist, they denigrate Igbo culture by calling the Igbo "idol" worshippers and people who angered god, hence slavery. Keep the shi t. |

It is actually the Igbos with about 80% pointing to subsaharan african origin, which leaves the remainder to some possible 'outside' origin. Now the MtDna test results (maternal origin) of the Igbo indicates they share same maternal dna with the Egyptians and Algerians of North Africa.

TheBlue5: Explain the archealogist evidence... •The Paleo (Ancient) Hebrew script found in a bunch of Igbo territories. • The many stars of David found in Igbo territories. • The carbon dating that suggested the Igbo first came to Nigeria around 3,000 BCE • The Egyptian Model that was found that supported the theory that the first Igbo came from Egypt (around biblical times) • The other Star of David that also suggest the Igbo came from the ancient city of King David • The onyx stone that was found at the palace at OBU-Gad that had the name 'Gad' written in Paleo (Ancient) Hebrew. • The stone throne of Gad at OBU-Gad that had "This throne belongs to my father Gad" written again in Paleo- (ancient) Hebrew built by Eri himself. • The Nigerian Koba coins (I think it was the Koba ones) that had the Star of David on it.
Now until you can explain all of this, then I will leave you alone, oh and every single last one of them not just a few. There are no ancient Hebrew scripts found in Igboland. The 'Star of David' or hexagram, as a simple literally universal shape, is common to almost every culture. The symbol itself wasn't used by Israelites or Judea, it has been popularised in the last 500 years. Carbon dating has found human settlement in Igbo land for thousands of years before 3000 BC, Igbo-cultural settlements have been suggested at 6000 BC. What Egyptian "model"? What other "Star of David"? Evidence of the "Obu Gad" is needed, anyone credible dated this? And again, what does 'Gad' mean in Igbo, why is there no earlier mention in texts on Nri of "Obu Gad"? Why is the name 'Gad' so different from normal Igbo lexicon that does not end words in consonants except 'n' and 'm'? How did Igbo change from an Afro-Asiatic language to a Niger Congo language with no evidence of Afro-Asiatic influence? Why are there no other people in Nri history named Gad? Again, what does colonial minted coins have to do with 'Igbo Jews'? |
