Kobojunkie: Yes, most but not all states will collapse, including Imo unfortunately. However, there are states that will probably survive and they are not making outrages statements such as this.I think we needs outrageous statement like this-it will encourage him to work harder and a bigger challenge to whoever that will succeed him. |
asha 80: how is he developing the potentials?is it by talking?Unfortunately Palm produce is not not crude oil, that you can plant at 12pm and harvest it at 1pm and cash it at 2pm. if he can build a strong foundation towards it and others that will follow him kept it, it can be done and it can wipe out unemployment in the area and beyond. |
Kobojunkie: Soooooooo . . .. is collecting allocation now a thing of shame? I mean if it is not a loan, why not continue to collect until, I don't know, the state can at least claim it can pay Nigeria's bill 10 times over. Is collecting allocation every month really an issue? Or is he simply boasting?I may be mistaking but I think what he was saying is over dependance on allocation can be bettered. I believe most state will collapse next month if you are to stop the central allocation of which they had no single input. And what if FG left Imo with their oil/gas to manage along with palm oil? .I like bailing my children out financially but it will be suicidal for any of them not to think that they can live without my help, then any help from me becomes a bonus. That is what I think the guy is talking about. |
Dede1: The dude is is moronic joker. He lived almost his entire life in Jos, Plateau State and never planted any tree in his village talk less of Oil Palm tree.Is it a wrong idea, if in reality, Imo becomes economical independent? You just don't hate a food, just because you dislike the farmer that grew it. What difference does it make even if he was born and reside in Jupiter till last night? You don't like the guy, that is fair enough. |
jumobi1: In 10 years would he be governor? That is the problem, the mindset of Nigerians that, every govt should start and finish things. That is why they waste money on easily on the eye projects, so that they can point at it as their achievement. But in advance economies and democracies, all policies are long term based. The just concluded successful London 2012 was the brain child of last govt of Tony Blair/Gordon Brown and labour's Ken Livingstone as the London Mayor. But it was the present Tory joint govt along with a Tory elected Mayor of London that continued with their projection of the hosting from its strict budgeting to planning etc. |
dougivilla: Was it d police, army, navy, airforce, sss, imigration, customs, civil defence, road safety, ndlea, nia, vio etc dat ended d ND crises? In any case, why do these agencies have equivalent of comissioners at state level? Mumu, pls follow thought flow / line of reasoning. Oh! i'm Sorry not all heads are cut out for comprehension. A head with disfunctional brain cells is a load to d neck. #BeheadingRecomended#If all the above wasn't an instrument used in ND, tell us what was used or shall Nigeria abolish all of the above because in your opinion, they are not necessary, unless El Rufai go with a gong in Maiduguri to look for Boko Haram unknown/faceless members. The same Maiduguri your president considered unsafe to go but you want others without any power to go. Some of you are missing the point, when you think Boko Haram are in the same mode with ND hungry terrorist kidnappers. Boko Haram is ideological driven compared to those in the creek who has only on thing in their mind-FINANCIAL GAINS. And once money was thrown at them like a dog thrown a bone, they disappeared. If you people thinks that you can solve this problem by blackmail, you are living in fools paradise. Because Boko Haram far predates GEJ presidency, contrary to some of you happing that they are there to make things difficult for him only. They are only taking advantage of his weak/corrupt leadership. Leadership based on trying to please everyone, mainly the northern PDP governors that rigged the last election for him. |
dougivilla: It's not dat d c in c is cleared of any wrong doings. Where else has security being about d boss alone apart from in naija. Do the afected states and L.Gs not av elected c in cs as governors and LG Chairs? What av been their responses and Wats their share of d blame? Do they not also av non elected traditional, spiritual and community c in cs?. When d ND chrisis was to end was it not sons and daughters of d region like Ann Kio Briggs, com. Joseph Eva, chief Edwin Clark, Govs. of d south south states etc that volunteered and eventually asisted in curbing d menace. I can't recal d ex president or any non SSner visiting d creeks as d northeners are now urging gej. What did yar'dua do apart 4rm opening up comunication lines like GEJ has also done? D real sons of d soil r not cooperating n wat r u expecting GEJ 2 do in dat case? During d bin laden saga, his country at least disowned him 2 show their inocence. Ibb, buhari, atiku, el rufai, govs and leaders of teror states, simply publicly show ur inocence and leave 2015 alone 4 now.Funny how you just reduced the impact of Yar Adua in the ND crisis, because most us you have screwed yourself up with tribal nuts. Bin Laden is from Saudi Arabia and I don't think there is a country called northern Nigeria to condemn Boko Haram in your bias parallel history lesson. You people elected a president to protect the country and that is why you are paying him, but you decide to call whatever you think is son and daughter to come and do his job. There is no evidence that the persons you are accusing are more close to Boko Haram than you yourself. If Yar Adua opened up line of communication, so that those you mentioned now can help him, why can't Jonathan do the same with the so called northern leaders? Instead of resorting to using second hand voices like Edwin Clark to be calling them names and accusing them of all sorts everyday and then expect them to help at the same time. Every single day, you guys accuse this guys of being Boko Haram and in the same breath, you are asking the same accused to stop Boko Haram. How can a man condemn or stop what he is part of? If I may ask you people. What I kept asking you guys is this: This north you guys distaste so much now, aren't they the same people all of you claimed that voted in their millions for Jonathan? If you kept insulting them because you are desperate to hold on to power with GEJ, comes that 2015, assuming Jonathan go back on his word, is he going to win with the so called hateful northerners VOTES. It may come back to haunt you power mad people now. For many years, southerners has always accused northerners of power hungry and now power is in the south, you are doing exactly the same. Any northerners who doesn't kiss Jonathan's back side is called all sorts. I pity you people, because you may be ruining IT for Jonathan when the dice is cast with your unreasonable bigoted reasoning. |
2mch: But how come a bunch of ragtag Yoruba volunteers made up of students and people that made sculptures defeated the almighty ogbunigwe with a 100% success rate? And that bunch of ragtag volunteers of student and sculpture were away in planet mars when Abacha and Al Mustapha came calling? Still laughing at yourself ![]() |
If you are you mere bystanders as you claimed, then you stop crying more than the bereaved. Else, only may be you still have some pusssy left to phucked again.
We are the bereaved, just that we are bystanding to the conversation of who done it among the two shooters. |
dayokanu: ^^ Eziachi, Can you explain why nzeogwu and co killed other regional leaders and spared theirs?I honestly cannot explain, because I wasn't in the army, neither any member of my family to know what Nzeogwu and his fellow junior officers did. Why did they kill Akintola and left Awolowo? I don't know too. The same way I have no idea why murtala was killed alone in 1976 and Obasanjo was left standing. I don't know why Bako lost his life when they came in 1984. I have no idea why Gideon Orka and others pencilled down a certain people. You know why I don't know? Military coup has always been a military affair and always would be. Don't always pretend that you know because it satisfies what you would love to believe. |
Elueme: This is interesting.. I think this Faruk man is deluded but not intentionally. The truth is that the north took the glory of the civil war not giving any credit to the Yorubas, the middle beltans( well they were seen as north then) and some south south soldiers who were self seeking to have betrayed their closest ally and they brag bout with this belief. When I read the story of that war I respect the ibos the more, for a small junk of the country to hold the whole country to ransome for three good years inspite of the federal might, strategy and armory. That said, I think the ojukwu seemingly lost that war, though it was declared no victor no vanquished by Gowon, because the West was against their secession, but if any tribe must take any glory I give it to the Yorubas led by adekunle and later OBasanjo. The northern divisions were utterly humiliated cos of their lack luster approach and strategy why it pains to hear that watery and loud mouthed Faruk talking thrash. From the point Fani Kayode raised, am not surprised, becos an average Yoruba man is deceptive and tricky. They can betray you anytime, what matters to them is interest, y when you make them an ally, you really get to watch your back.. This is another fear I am harbouring in this new quest for true federalism if the Yorubas ll not play Awo again and betray the struggle when the north gives an overture that ll favour them but so far I love what is going on... More beer! They did play Awo again and has always. Do you remember the OBJ jamboree conference in Abuja? How the whole so-called south met in Enugu and all agreed to push for a 50 percent derivative revenue formular, but on getting to the conference, to the utter surprise of the SS delegation, the Yoruba joined the north asking for 17% and when SS delegation complain, Umaru Dikko resotted in calling them "area men". I know that you are GEJ's supporter but you knew this fact as to how Tinubu and his Yoruba dominated ACN made an about turn on Buhari in the last hour of last election? Even Ribadu, their own candidate, they couldn't bring themselves to vote for him because he is not one of them. Its nothing new. That is why the so-called northerners who are insulted all the time as parasite has openly said it that they are not afraid of going it alone, but what does the Yoruba want? Only but conning around shouting SNC, as long as the Ijaw community are kept with their oil in Ondo state. |
Katsumoto: I have asked severally and I will do so again.I don't know when the bloody Ilorin was conquered since your history as well as mine was an oral one. All I know is the ruler of Ilorin is called Emir and he is of the blood lineage of Usman Dan Fodio (Hausa/Fulani). Unless you no longer call your rulers Oba again. And another point of factual is this: Few months ago, a known northern Oligarc called Dr Junaid Mohammed told you that in the event of end of the cesspit, they are not leaving the whole Kwara behind, and even Saraki has denied his ancestors too. Whether you believe Ilorin was conquered or not is totally irrelevant, what matters is the glaring fact/statu of Ilorin now. |
Biafrans lost the the war -Fact Their leader Ojukwu bolted out to abidjan in the middle of the night, dressed like aba market woman -Fact. 3 million ibos were roasted -Fact
June 12 was just an election, not a war and Abiola bolted to England before being dragged home, which he regretted- fact. Every Yoruba elite except those on Abacha's payroll like Adedibu/Arisokola Aloa all bolted into exile just because of one man Abacha, there was no war. Fact Your annoyance with Ojukwu is simple: You wanted him as a war trophy and never get over it when it didn't happen- Fact .Whether you roasted and ate 10 million Igbos, Annang, Efik, Ibibio and some Ijaw is not the main topic of this thread.- Fact Whether Ojukwu dressed as Miss Nigeria is not the issue and how crying General Diya wished he has the chance to dress like Jankara market women to escape than the humiliation of kneeling before goggled Abacha begging for his life. The issue is this, your son of the soil just came out smoking against your norther former lovers and told the world how your emperor sold his conscience for a mere promised of being made the best president we never had. That is the issue and stop talking about irrelevant things. Next time the word bolted gets you excited, always remember that you had enough bolters among you kins to fill a jumbo jet just because of one northern soldier called Sani ABACHA and his sidekick Al Mustapha. At the heat of apartheid, freedom fighting icons like Mbeki Srn, Oliver Tambo all bolted and according to you, they are all wicked because they refused to be presented in plate to their enemies. Tinubu, Soyinka all bolted until Abacha died. |
Katsumoto: I hope you read the links I provided. You think even the most moronic slowpoke will believe this your first failed attempt as a comedian? Name one of the agencies and lets contact them. Ikemba was a custodian of the greatest wealth by then for an African, you knew that and I knew that. Start dealing with the main issue of the thread raised by your brother Kayode, you are now denying because he said what not supposed to be said and here you are derailing the thread with irrelevant Iddo motor park historical theory. |
The "bystander" is now crying and rolling on the ground more than the bereaved. Of what is your interest? why are you asking? Look up the meaning of bystander in your dictionary.
I don't have to look up to dictionary as Nairaland is not an English class, but as long as you understood it more than me, that is good enough for me. Its Yoruba vs North (Over who wins the war over us) and we are interested bystanders whether the grammar is up to your standard or not. |
Katsumoto: Please educate us about the pact Awo had with Biafra and stop all these unnecessary dancing around the fire.I had been telling you at least for the past 5 years here in NL but suddenly what I had been telling you had been collaborated by one of your own, who happens to be the son a top gun from your land, who happen to be the arm and ear of OBJ in powers. No matter what anyone tell you, are you likely to agree? No! In the 60s it was no news and not a secret then that Biafrans released Awo from prison to go home and do the decent thing but he went home and joined his jailers against Biafra. Its no secrets. I had always said that if I were in his shoes, I may do as he did because he is looking after the interest of his tribe, but for people lik,e you to continue to deny an obvious because you think it doesn't look good on him is madness. |
Katsumoto: Shut the Bleep up dunce, why should Awo support Ojukwu? Was Awo an Igbo man? On what basis should Awo have supported Ojukwu?Ok since you are in the spirit of questioning- On what basis did Awolowo supports Gowon, is he a northerner in disguise? |
Ha ha ha ha ha. . .These ibo goons got more than what they bargained for. Like I earlier said, You can't continue to blame us for the misfortunes born out of your greed and crassness. It is stupidity to start a war you have zero chances of winning, in other words your greed led you to pursuing a war that saw 3 million ibos dying . Awo was not perfect, but his sheer sophistication is resonating till this moment. The question still unanswerd is, why was Akintola, Tafawa Belewa, Sardauna, Kashim and other prominent northern and south western politicians murdered, while Zik,Michael Opkara and other prominent south eastern people were allowed to slipped through the boarder at night? It is on records that ibos invented tribalism in Nigeria.
Don't flatter yourself. This a match between Yoruba (Kayode) and North (Farouk) over who and why they fought the war against Biafra. Farouk said it was them that won the war and that you Yoruba should be thankful. And Kayode fired back IN ANGER and revealed what is not meant to be said in the open that if not because of the fact, that your leader was deceived by the sound of presidency by 29 year old Gowon, that the north stand nor chance and then boasted that the well documented war crime committed by the 3rd marine commando was actually dominated by the Yoruba by 95%. We are just bystanders watching and listening as the two former lovers are washing their dirty underpant in public. Why are you attacking us with your Okpara did not die sermon as if we decide on who dies in a military coup? Why wasn't Obasanjo or other southern officers killed along with Murtala? We don't know because its military business and so too 1966, 67, 76, 84 etc. |
onatisi: but pls what relevnce does this story has on todays nigeria problems.we are faced with terrorist organisations killing both yoruba, northerners and ibo,we are faced with a very corrupt political system and bad economy yet we are fighting over the actions of two dead men ,who re already rotten in their grave now.if they made a mistake either willingly or not we should be able to correct it for us to live a better life and to leave a better country or place for our children. That is the roots of the present Nigerian problems- The sins of the dead, visiting their children. |
texazzpete: I really have to question the sanity of anyone who takes Fani-kayode's words at face value.Yes I believed him, Nigerian ruling class, responsible for denying Nigerians 1st class modern aviation are demonic forces. |
Katsumoto: Can you shed some light on the pact Awo had with Biafra?Aren't you asking the wrong person? Ask Fani Power's son. Is Adenyinka Adebayo still alive? Maybe you should ask him why himself/Ogundipe preferred to be a subject to a junior officer called Gowon, despite Ojukwus insistence that they are the most senior. |
Katsumoto: Let's look at the facts Kwara (including Saraki and his family)and Offa. Is that enough for you? |
Katsumoto: Damn, English grammar is so difficult for many Biafrans. It appears that many don’t know about conditional clauses and its uses in sentence construction. A conditional clause is used to express that the action in the main clause will only occur IF a certain condition/action is actualized. So Mr that understand grammar, in your grammatical opinion, who then is Nigeria minus Biafrans? |
2mch: Fani kayode is not credible. But he is right in that Yoruba's ended the war. That mallam throwing infantile bullsh*it has just been schooled. Must be a typical NLer. All mouth, no brains. Awo did what was necessary for his people and he will always be loved and remembered for that. Igbo's had been trying to rule the west so they could not be trusted. Why match to SW when your enemies are in the north? You can declare victory from your village. SW cannot be ruled by a foreigner. We don't even give corrupt Oba's the luxury of peace not to talk of a different tribe. Take a look at your bolded statement again and tell us who is ruling Kwara? |
onomeasike: if you read the history of the Yorubas, you will know they are naturally gifted in the art of war. They even had their own civil war before the Nigerian civil war!they constitute the greatest number of Africans recruited by britian for the first world war(see BURMA BOY by Philip Barnaby of Aljazeera.Clearly, they are more war-tested than their southern neighbours. It is not an accident that even the biafran forces that made the greatest impact in the biafran war was led by a YorubamanI admire your past unwritten history but this is the 21st century. Greece use to rule the whole world but look at the modern Greece going bankrupt and begging for money to survive. They don't go to American telling Obama, the Chinese or the lady leader of the the German land that Alexander the Great use to be their king. Mr gifted warrior, Ilorin now has an Emir instead of an Oba or Alafin. |
T9ksy: @ Bolded,No more rumour mongering of history, your own brother has said it all. Leave Igbos out of it and deal with Fani Kayode for blabbing out the truth against what you had been spoon fed by your village teachers all these years. |
Katsumoto: It has been alleged that 3 million Igbos died during the war. Most of those that died, did so from starvation. How could 3 million die from starvation? Were the leaders so wicked that they couldn’t surrender when they couldn't feed their citizens? Yet Igbos would blame everyone but themselves for these unnecessary deaths.Stop changing the topic, deal with the issue, instead of telling how a billionaire is charging a landing fee to charities. |
Goddess12: most ibos don't know their real fathers, or do you know which of your fathers neighbors impregnated your mother? cos bringing a child to the world is a community service in iboland, stop pointing at your superior, jerk!!!The thread topic is not about Igbo people DNA, is about a well respected and connected Yoruba son telling us what we already knew for years that Chief Awolowo traded Southern freedom for a promised mirage Nigerian presidency. Stop dancing around the topic, thinking it will go away. If its coming from an Igbo or any other group, you will get your gist ready but this is the utterance of your own son. We are waiting for your response to Fani Kayode! |
Aigbofa: We were fighting Aboki long before Nigeria was created, if necessary we will fight them again... on our own terms. We may decide not to fight though if they agree to share iboland with us.You don't seems to be doing any good job at fighting them, as: They have conquered Ilorin and Offa and install their Emir. They promised your presidency and left you minister of finance after the war. They took away the capital from your land to Abuja. Killed your most illustrious son MKO/his wife for no reason. Humiliated your most senior army officers before the whole world in Diya, A.K Adisa etc. I want you to react page by page what Mr Fani Kayode has revealed about your revered late leader, no point dancing around the issue. |
manchy7531: UMU IGBO, gOD IS WITH US....THEY WILL EXPOSE THEMSELVES FINISH AND GOD WILL DESTROY THEM ALL.I WISH OJUKWU WAS STILL ALIVE TO SEE SOME OF THESE REVELATIONSIts not a new revelation, as many of us then knew the truth from the day one. I had told you guys here on Nairaland that Biafran forces original intention of pushing to Lagos was because of the expectant Yoruba declaration of their own republic. That we will be around to help in the event of attack against them by the northerners, but just like Aburi, they changed their mind without notice. 1966 Boys acted because of what they perceived unjust imprisonment of Awolowo and the deep rooted corruption plantation of Balewa's govt, but when it went wrong, it became an Igbo coup, even when the facts said otherwise. All these are now in the past and the future is what is important but the fact remained that you cannot cover the truth forever. |
KOMBE: thumbs up for GEJ.Should we thumb him down for the great olympic performance? |
Dollarman101: Make una talk true for once. Light don improve significantly. Here in Uyo, we have light at least an average of 18 hours a day. It doesnt mean there's no occasional power outages, but there's a significant improvement in power supply. Even when I travelled to port harcourt last week, it was still the same testimony. Everyone was saying light don improve. That is the problem, don't acknowledge them for improving on same power that doesn't blink for a whole year in nearby Cameroon. Something you're paying to be supplied to you. Occasional outage is not also acceptable in the modern world, in fact in many countries a single outage can bankrupt the electricity company through compensation payments to businesses they may have ruined. This is 21st century, people no longer accept mediocrity or half baked bread from those they paid very handsomely to pilot their welfare. If electricity supply is improving, that is a good thing and a good news but you don't give them high five for doing what they are well paid to do. You don't give high five to your well paid cook for making you a meal! You don't praise your well paid driver for driving you well/safe! I knew what many years of dictatorship has done to the psyche of many in Nigeria, where people are sang praised for doing their paid duties irrespective of how insignificant. |

. So what happens if we include our Baloguns? You people would have been living in the UN by now. Adekunle, a 20somthing yr old for that matter and OBJ a man in his early to mid 30's. They were small small boys compared to the military tacticians the Yoruba had.
. We may not be prominent in the military, but you do understand that culturally, we have our own military people? They are made up of special families in every Yoruba subgroup. And once war is imminent their families have to defend the Yoruba?
