Its funny the fine line between success and failure in life. Mourinho lost today even though his team outplayed Atletico in most part of the game, while in the past he has won crucial games he was outclassed to the benefit of his over sized ego.
Being on the losing end tonight, he doesn't lose so special, DOES HE?

In life, my Igbo ancestors says that " Those their god buttered their bread, always feel that others are just bad bakers". Humility is always an essential part of life and those that doesn't cultivate it, one day their luck will hit an unexpected break and they will be found out and will look just ordinary like everyone else. Just that winners always have the most vocal voice.

Theben: I believe you don't have any media source in your environ aside nairaland. Were you deaf or blind when the issue was raised at the senate on how the south easterners are beginning to dominate the millitary?
I don't care where you get your own source, just tell me how many people from your town or family that are members of the Nigerian armed forces since 1999?
Facts are different from things you heard in a beer bar after your 5th Bottle of large bottle of Guinness stout.

confusion247: I am sure your Tinubu was alive when Jonathan won in 2011, so shall it be in 2015, but for the time being, drones should be sent to northern Nigeria.
Unlike you, I don't have any politician. But people like you may be the biggest problem of Jonathan in 2015, if he decide to run again, because INEC figures shows that he gain substantial number of vote in the northern heartland to beat his opponents, so when you kept on calling the same people all sorts of names, I don't see how that is going his help his electoral fortune if you people makes the likes of the northern governor that help him beat Atiku and rig their states for him angry.
I don't see a commander in chief who in his right mind will despatch fighter jets or drone you are asking for inside his on country, when we haven't been told of any civil war yet.
Even if your name callings or the madness of a drone are justified, I wise man should keep such a feeling all to himself until after 2015.

Let me get this straight. So lets assume in 2015, Jonathan decides to run again and the demonic north decided not to vote for the southern-angelic GEJ from the south, Tinubu decide to keep date with the demonic north, how is Jonathan going to win in reality and practical terms?

van bonattel: The truth is....... the north is screwed!

Hated by the whole south for mismanaging Nigeria, forced by boko haram to accept a strict religion, divided in their opinion about Jonathan, confused about their future and afraid of losing oyel moni. The north is no longer as strong as they used to be. Jonathan is killing them silently.
Some of you know how to generalise. Who exactly is this whole south? Soon someone will bring in the so-called middle belt.

I don't care if she was the midwife at your birth. Appointive, not elective. Let the governor appoint Wole Soyinka as his deputy and lets see where he will tell him to go with it.

Ilaje44: The majority of the people misinterpreting the article can not be said to have enjoyed FREE EDUCATION. English is a foreign language, and this incident here gives wings to my argument that we should promote our languages. Education and research in the mother tongue is the key to sound knowledge.
Most schooled Nigerians should understand English more than their native tongues. From nursery to University, from day one English is used 95% of the time, in the south in particular. How many people in Nigeria can read a letter or write one in their native language? How many Igbos. Yorubas, Hausas, Efik, Ijaw etc can count up to a thousand in their native tongue.
How many can make a full sentence without popping in, one or two English phrase or words into it?
I hate when people who claim to be educated like Mrs Jonathan massacres English, then their first line of defence always this nonsense about native tongue.
^^^@ The bolded: you're right.....the thread topic is misleading.

Can any northerners in the house try and proffer some explanations as to why poverty is more rife in the north; inspite of the wealthiest individuals coming from there and inspite of the fact that they've held the leadership of this country for much longer than the south? Also, while they're at it, could they also explain why a region/zone like the South East for instance (that ordinarily should be worse off than them) has better performance indicators......and people of the region/zone aren't bitter, angry, bombing everywhere, murdering innocents in cold blood and generally causing havoc for the rest of the country in the name of religion or politics?
Spot on!
This is exactly what most folk should be talking about and not the British. How many times have I said it in the past that Igbo culture encourages the production of possibly no billionaires, few millionaires but millions of thousandnaires and we want to keep it that way.
PoliticsRe: Northern Population Is Around 42 Million -----United Kindom Minister by Eziachi: 1:05pm On May 17, 2013
Da infamous: there is no doubt that the British government has never particularly felt well disposed towards the Igbos. But must they? I believe that they have the right to chose their friends, and that we also have the right to chose ours. I begin to see problems when people begin to see non friends as friends. That's why I was surprised when Ikemba Ojukwu's associates took him to the UK for treatment when he was very ill. I know that he was already too ill,and couldn't decide for himself, but his associates should have known better-who were, and are our friends. Our people take history too lackadaisically, and we keep on repeating mistakes.
What exactly is the problem here with some of you?
I don't get it. Must you read ethnicity into every simple issue. What has this got to do wit Igbo Hausa or anybody? Do you want to read that poverty in Igboland is 42 million strong as they said its in the north?
Ojukwu treatment in Britain, what has it got to do with poverty in the north. We are supposed to be the enlightened and educated ones-what the heck is going on? grin grin
PoliticsRe: Northern Population Is Around 42 Million -----United Kindom Minister by Eziachi: 12:58pm On May 17, 2013
Obiagu1: So it means that only 40% of Nigerians live under the national poverty line?

So every reason he gave to divert 60% of the UK money to the North was based on falsehood.
Where did you get your figure of 40%? Why not stick to the original story or quote.

PoliticsRe: Northern Population Is Around 42 Million -----United Kindom Minister by Eziachi: 5:00pm On May 16, 2013
The region is home to 42 million people who still live under the national poverty line - 65% of the total across Nigeria.
Haba!
This is a simple English any person can understand. The quoted person is not telling you about the population of the north, but rather the population of those in the north living under poverty, a representation of 65% of total poverty level in Nigeria.

Does anyone really read the book written by Abacha that you called constitution?
Where was this constitution when OBJ was in power? Because the only constitution I knew at the time was just OBJ himself. Which part of that Nigerian constitution could any person a first lady? but it never stop them being called one and public money wasted around it.

Do you actually know anything about Nigeria?
So you don't know that the most boiling point of Nigerian political uprising is the South West that started the whole thing in the 60s between Akintola vs Chief Awolowo? And in the end NiGERIA/BIAFRA war.
How old are you exactly if you haven't heard about Ife vs Modakeke uprising?
You never heard about Ogbomosho vs Ibadan uprising?
Ajasin vs Omoboriowo 1983 civil that claimed hundred of lives and properties, that led to an NPN man being beheaded?
Victor Ololye vs Bola Ige 1983 civil war? And most recently Fayose vs everybody's civil war?

Where I come from, I can till the next month be telling you all our problems because they are many, but when day dreamers like you start painting a fantasy picture of himself, you becomes a laugh, not the joke.

I don't know of any part of the country where former VCs still go back to classes after their tenures. How professors have you seen or read about that contested the presidency in the US? Everybody in the SW politically conscious, no wonder subsequent government avoid any political uprising in that part of the country because it could destabilize the country. The first coups were not unconnected with events in the SW.
Really?
Well go and search the thread regarding the appointment of a professor as the new deputy governor of Ekiti state, where I outrightly said that it was waste of knowledge because a deputy governors does nothing.
But you and many of your brothers were raving that I condemned a professor leaving the class room, research room to join the gravy train of politics of Nigeria.
You are asking your question to the wrong person. Go and ask the brand new second hand deputy governor of Ekiti why a professor like her decide to go sidon look doing nothing as a deputy governor?
Christianity EtcRe: Will Lagos Ever Have A Christian Governor? by Eziachi: 10:27pm On May 15, 2013
Ola Johnson: I've lived with Ikwerre people in Port-Harcourt, where I was born and schooled till I left for Ile-Ife for my university education. They may be Igbo, none of the them trusts an Igbo man or would like to be called Igbo. They even prefer a Hausa to rule Nigeria to an Igbo man. During the civil war, 'Biafran' soldiers humiliated the Ikwerre. People like Elechi Amadi, Dappa Biriye, etc were at many times almost killed for championing the creation of Ogoja - Rivers Region during the Willink Commission. 'Biafrans' became angry when Rivers State was created in 1967.
On Ibusa and other Igbo speaking parts of Delta, Igbo in the SE don't see them as full blooded Igbo. They only say they do when it is in their favour. When Pat Utomi became the presidential candidate of his party no Igbo supported him. They said the technocrat was not from the SE.
Your experience is a good as mine. I swim and hunt every day with Awori people in Timbuktu, non of them ever trust Yoruba man or will dream of being called a Yoruba. They rather go and live in Benin Republic than for Lagos to be called a Yoruba land.
During the Abacha's era, they open the door for Yorubas to be humiliated and assassinated in Lagos by Al Mustapha and the Nigerian soldiers. On Yoruba itself, the Egbas regarded the rest of Yoruba as inferior, that why only them rules when you get the opportunity and they claim to be equal Yorubas during elections e.g Abiola/OBJ etc.
Dele Moumodu became the presidential candidate of his party, not even his wife voted for him and they said the publisher is too fat to be a proper Yoruba.
You see, we are kind of, on the same page.

Ola Johnson: I won't argue with you on professorship and high literacy level in the SW, it is known all over the globe.
I know its know all over the world because you said so and you are that world, what I am worried about is the merit of you bogus claim. The fact remain that the likes of Akala and Fayose ruled over your professors, while person like Adedibu was calling all the shot nearby..
Christianity EtcRe: Will Lagos Ever Have A Christian Governor? by Eziachi: 2:34pm On May 15, 2013
Ola Johnson: You said Lagos is not Yorubaland but Aworiland; what ethnic group are the Awori, are they not Yoruba? Awori is just a group like Egba, Ife, Ijesa, Ifon, Ekiti, Ijebu, Ondo, Owo, Akure, Owu, Oyo, etc, in the larger Yoruba ethnic group. You will also find groups like these with names like Sabe and Ketu in Benin Republic, who are also Yoruba. The Benin President, Boni Iyayi speaks Yoruba. They all have their dialects but speak also speak the Yoruba language which Oyo.
Oh yeah! grin grin
So you are very much aware that Yoruba has many facets that make it up, but people like you will also turn the other side and claim that people like the Ikwerres, Ibusa etc are not Igbos. I was only going by your own theories.
Now over to you.

I was expecting APC to do same since they are the main opposition in Nigeria, why the cricket attitude? Is the termination of Boko Haram not part of your 2015 agenda? Sovereign National Conference is the only way out. Bigotry is every where in Nigeria, visit a minister's office in Abuja, all you will see in his entourage including staffers are his kinsmen and some midget is telling us Nigerians are united? NNPC head quarter's official language is Hausa yet people are screeming *one nigger-area*.....
In the state, public media like CSPAN doesn't belong to the party in power. Will the same NTA/FRCN give the opposition the same platform and time the president got, they will rather use the time to cover maybe her excellency's wedding attendance somewhere.

barroymails: Well done, Mr. President, on the declaration of this partial state of emergency in three states. Responsible Nigerians had, however, expected full state of emergency in all the affected states. I am unable to understand how the governors and all other political office holders in the affected states could continue to perform their constitutional responsibilities in an emergency regime. All the political office holders ought to give way for the military to return the affected war zones to the path of peace. It appears that Mr. President acted out of fear as he most probably did not want to be criticized by the garrulous opposition leaders and the sponsors/promoters of Boko Haram. Poor him!
So what happened if they are to vacate the state of emergency states , then moved to a new territory of non state of emergency states? Does some of you actually use your God's given brain to think, rather than allowing unconcerned and crooked politicians make fools of you people all the time, in the same pattern, manner, even the same words?
