alnaijiri: State of Emergency in the North is a codeword for restricting democracy and autonomy of the Muslim North and subjugate Muslims under this Xtian Crusader government. We know this is what the South wants. Maybe they're bankrolling BH and other "Islamic" groups all along to get what they want. Then, now is the time for you to insist on a referendum to free you from the southern conspiracy crusade government. Where you can then do what you like without any hindrance. But after saying the quoted nonsense, you will also use the same mouth trashing about "an indivisible one Nigeria", "no other home except Nigeria" and few other garbages along that line. |
babyosisi: What does state of emergency meanVery good questions, but I am not sure even Jonathan himself knew the answers. |
Too little, too late. A total medication after death. He has spent the last 3 years telling us on a week by week basis, whom among his political opponents were the sponsors of this group, without any evidence to support it, talk less of any arrest/prosecution. He once fixed a date that the insurgency will end, i.e June last year, while dinning in far away Brazil, looking for investors he said, in the land that is burning. Not paying a visit to the area to re-assure the public, for a good 2 years. Saying that its too dangerous to go or sometimes with excuses like "the Maiduguri airport isn't functioning". Telling us Boko Haram was all about him being Southern born president. Demonising those that could have helped him, no matter their political differences, thereby milking the usual divide and rule tactics of Nigerian rulers by making himself a victim he isn't. Allowing the opposition governors to steal the PR campaign under his feet with indecisions, hence them visiting the area first, before him. A year ago, Boko Haram were only attacking from the back of a motor bike riders, last week they were attacking with mounting machine guns on the back motor trucks in the day light with brazen. An action statement of telling us that they are much bolder now than they were this time last year. The biggest mistake probably was Jonathan and his govt idea of hoodwinking gullible Nigerians, mixing up Boko Haram activities with the riot that followed his 2011 rigged presidential poll, instead of treating the two for what they really are. He thereby wasted lots of time chasing shadows, then Boko Haram used this wasted period to improve, developed, recruit, expanded and emboldened their horizon and now the gene is out of the bottle, very difficult to put back in. The unchecked activities of JTF in this areas is already a state of emergency. Most of the victims from both Boko Haram and the govt forces are the masses and you cannot fight these people without the help of the publics as your ears and nose for good and reliable information and intelligence. But their total lack of human right against the same masses, has made it more impossible that the public probably trust Boko Haram people than they trust security forces. No amount of emergency or marshall law will solve this already formed cancer. Terrorist groups look for and love confrontation. Because that is what they lived for. They must be clapping their hands now with glees. As you Kill one, then two of his brothers will join to replace him. The one you killed believed he is going to heaven to marry some virgins and while they kill also hoping for the same reward. How can you bring a suicidal person to his senses with a threat of death? If Jonathan has some balls, let him call a referendum into the Nigerian question, then everybody, from the unknown sponsors, beneficiaries, politicians from all divide will sit up and listen and do something. A state of emergency, where all the status quo remain the same, so what has changed from before? Too little, too late. More than anything now, he really need some measure of good luck, not livered finger banging on the table, which convinces no serious rational and thinking person. |
Even when the term "Ibo"is used by Ibo people? Do you know how many Ibos I've come across that spells Ibo as Ibo? Sensitizing the issue makes it tribal
The same way some black rappers use the word N*GGAR, the day you see Jesi Jackson or Opra, please call them that and tell them that rappers use it too. Come back and report to us your experience with that. |
payless: Obasanjo did not even win a single state in SW. It shows Yorubas are not blinded by ethnic bigotry that has clouded our fellow citizens from SS/SE. Yorubas judge you on your achievement; and not ethnicity or religion. An average Yoruba man knows Obasanjo 8 year rule was a failure.Yes he didn't win a single seat in SW, that was 1999, when his opponent was also a yoruba man Falae. What happened in 2003, when his opponent is not a Yoruba? He won a every single one of them. Some of you should stop talking to us as if we don't have memories. |
Ola Johnson: You confuse yourself, you just said I can't challenge your claim, and at the same time said I don't know what I'm saying. You're using Ebonyi State that Jigawa is far better to compare Ekiti State that has the highest number of professors. Ebonyi State is better than Ekiti State yet they have not been able to eradicate guinea worm. Guy, sleep don da catch u, go sleep.Where was all these your professors, when that motor park Agbero called Fayose become their ruler? Professor? the oga at the top guy was a graduate- few more years in the university he will equally become a professors to add to your statistics of one kilometre per professor. Don't make me laugh with your U.P.E professors. |
Ola Johnson: Here yourself, Lagos is no man's land. Did it fall from heaven? You want an Igbo man to be made commissioner in Osun State? Osun State, where I currently am more than enough people that are educated not like the ESUT four.Lagos is the melting point of all Nigeria as long as one can remember, hence the no man's land tag and by definition, its Aworiland, we had been told and not a Yorubaland. Someone said Yorubas are very welcoming, hence people are all in Lagos, I said if you want measure Yoruba, use a place like Osun, Ekiti etc not Lagos. He said Lagos has Igbo man as commisioner, which is not true, but if Nigeria is not a screwed up place Lagos should have had Hausa, Igbo, Efik elected governor by now when you compares its cosmopotan nature. How many non Yoruba councillors, LGA chairmen, House of assembly memebers do you have in Lagos, talkless of interior Yoruba states? Some one also said they were nice because they sold land to Igbos- I said that is a stupid reasoning, they needed the cash, Igbos has the cash, simply business and nothing to do with love. |
Goddex: Fear Buhari as in how na? Somebody that PDP has trashed thrice in the past.Being the best and biggest rigger is not the same as the trasher. For me, he is the easiest to beat because he has got loads and loads of enemies due to his ethnic and religious bigotry while in public service.Give series of examples of this ethnic, religious bigotry action while in office. I just feel ashamed of APC that a party that calls itself progressive cannot still look beyond this octogenarian who was military head of state when many of us where toddlers.I will guess you are no longer a toddler, but if you're still, lets adults remind you that the current Indian prime minister is 81 years young and still going strong and the economy he runs is ten times bigger than yours. What is "Progressive" in somebody like Buhari? What is your understanding of the word progressive? What projects did he execute as governor of north east? I challenge anyone to mention a University, teaching hospital, road, industry, polytechnic, airport or any monument in North East that Buhari executed. No one ever build those things in five months. Name the ones OBJ, Yar Adua and Jonathan has built combined since 1999, when you are still maybe a baby? |
Ola Johnson: Can prove this, the man that doesn't know himself (Onyewe?)? I was in an international conference in OAU, Ile-Ife to mark the retirement of Dr Dipo Fashina, majority of the people that spoke said Yoruba people are the most friendly people in Nigeria. If you to even state-owned universities in Yorubaland, you will see lecturers from other tribes. Igbo people are commissioners in Lagos State. SW is the only part of the country that is safe (no kidnapping). Though Yoruba people are killed in the north, they don't carry reprisals against northers in SWWhen making example of Yoruba behaviour, never use Lagos as your yardstick. Lagos is a no man's land, the melting point of everybody. Come back to me the day Osun state will have an Igbo man as commissioner. |
I still want to understand how 'Ibo' is a tribal slur. Smh
Its becomes a slur when you are told that the correct word is Igbo by Igbo people, you kept on with Ibo, even going the length to support your choice. Ibo is a mispronunciation of Igbo by the white man, they can be excused but you an African, who supposed to be educating them, doing it, has no sense in it. Then it means you had your own agenda for using Ibo instead of Igbo. |
Of course there is nothing offensive calling a northerner "Aboki", but unfortunately most ignorant southerners are brought up to believe that its a derogatory word, so when they use the word, they use it in those terms. Pure ignorant. The former governor of Eastern Nigeria's name was- Anthony "Aboki" Ochefu. Now use your tongue to count your teeth. |
I thought that former governor, Michael Otedola was from the Christendom? |
Bliss4Lyfe: As long as, i see a second niger bridge standing and enugu international airport terminal 1 and 2.This is the most unfortunate sentiment creeping into most Igbo psyche recently and its dangerous. You can't simply based your life and future on a bridge and an airport as if those two neglected had not been there. Wasn't those same bridge and airport there before, when you voted for OBJ, Yar Adua and others before them, why wasn't such condition given? In future, others will now tell you if you don't vote for me I will knock the bridge down or close the airport, what then? The Niger bridge and airport is your right, not a father christmas gift for your vote. If some of you continue to naively pitching our future into a bridge and an airport, one day you say that I said so. |
Bliss4Lyfe: ^So Ndiigbo should vote Buhari becos Okorocha wants to be what again, under Buhari? "Ga nodi ani, ipara oka."I am not asking anyone to vote for anybody. And Stop saying Ndigbo. Ndigbo are millions of people with their own individual minds and brains, who made decision based on their assessment of things around them. What may be good for your you must understand may be poison to another person. That has been the Igbo spirits-Individualism, that what makes us republicans. So always speak for yourself. What Rochas does is his politics and where he thinks he ambitions will be most watered is his business and not directly linked to Ndigbo. If I remembered correctly, he supported Jonathan last time-where was you then? It means that your view on Rochas goes from election to election, depending on his choices, as long as it matches yours. Life doesn't work like that. |
coputa: At the CPC/APC convention,i noticed that the new yoruba leader- Bola Tinubu was cospicuosly absent but i saw his tail...i also saw desperado El rufai,.....my greatest suprise was the Abia state delegation to the convention......i think the igbos has the highest numbers of casualty in the north brought about by Buharis desire to make nigeria ungovernable for Gej...why are the igbos still dinning with their enemies.....No, you saw what you want to see. What you chose not to see is that this is political game of Nigeria. Everybody their no matter where they come from is there people it will better their personal lives the way they sees it. Some of you should stop generalising politics. You have the right to support whoever you fancy but don't turn your personal choice, love or hate into a general Igbo affair. Ndigbo owes no politician in Nigerian, matter where they come from any sort of dying loyalty. Its not your right to be choosing an enemy for Ndigbo, no matter what the politics is. |
alexchiny: Olodo, do you want to know the truth? The truth is that your savior Buhari was offered the HOS by coupists and as usual, power thirsty as ever, he jumped at it. IBB and co needed a lilly livered soldier they could control and guess who they chose? And for the last time kid, Nobody kills a soldier for turning down a HOS offer AFTER a successful coup. This is my last reply to you as its obvious you are just an ignorant kid. What exactly is your point? He plotted a coup, he accepted to be head of state after a coup he wasn't part of? Which of the two is your worries? So in your opinion IBB and his boys can control Buhari or Idiagbon? If your theory is meaningful, why did they then overthrew him, if he can be controlled? Like I said before, don't allow your personal feelings about a person or an issue distort facts. This is why Nigeria never starts, because people across it breath were brainwashed to hate other people or persons based ethnic bias. Most things Yorubas says on nairaland about Igbos is purely based on this ethnic narration of history. Many of us Igbo were brought up to believe that all northerners are stupid, uneducated and inferior and that is far from the truth. |
touch4mony: he accepted to lead them since they can't agree on a leader.listen to ur šéf 1st, he was not part of d plan but he excuted the job. If I may ask do u carry out project u no Nofin about.Yes he accepted and that is the fact, just as OBJ accepted when Murtala was murdered, just as Ironsi became leader after the 1966 coup, it doesn't mean that Ironsi was part of the plot or the coup, just because he accepted. It was the cold war era, when anything goes. Disliking someone doesn't mean that you have to turn the truth or fact about the person upside down, unless you knew information we didn't know about, then you are free to present it. Its not about your personal feelings. Thats why a good judge will find you innocent of a crime you did not commit even though, he may dislike your personality. |
aba2aba: Mark my word, Okorocha will lose out this time around.Ndi Imo will never follow him to vote Buhari/Tinubu, God forbid!! Mbanu...Chineke ekwela. The same Ndi Imo voted for Torfa, Abiola, OBJ and Yar Adua in the past-where was your god then? |
thoniann: Very possible. Igbos are progressives and will not waste another four years with GEJ at the helm.Whats does progressive mean? |
Biafra4tharmy: Rochas is a traitor. The Igbos shall vote GEJ again. GEJ untill 2019Try and define a traitor in Igbo for me. You can vote for GEJ as person, that is your choice, so does the man next to you. Rochas is following his own political ambition and so does GEJ. Both ambitions are not interwoven with each other. Ndigbo or Rochas owe GEJ nothing, neither does GEJ owes Igbos or Rochas anything. One didn't come into the world because the other. |
Nwa oguta: Hungry people who had sold their birthright for a mere 500 naira each, rochas is a disaster to the people of imo state.Disaster in which form, he is not in the party of your choice? even when you voted against him probably in the first place. |
ckkris: Does it now mean Igbos will vote for Buhari or Tinubu against Jonathan? Impossible!Tinubu is not running for presidency as long as we know, Buhari and Jonathan are candidates and so does 50 others too, what has it got to do with Igbo vote? |
They will decamp into Kris Okotie's party if they are in charge of the govt and public purse. The same decamped now, hold the same loyalty to Ohakim when he was in charge. So don't read anything into their belly loyalty. |
alexchiny: Even though I accept the fact that you are a good history student but I must say your post makes little sense. If Buhari was that upright, why didn't he turn the invitation down? So he "pallied" up with coupists? RubbishYour post or the issue wasn't about Buhari's uprightness, it about distortion of facts. Receiving a stole good cannot by written down by a police report as robbing a bank later, even though it wrong on its own. Fact of a matter should not confused with how you feel about that matter. And who is that in Nigeria today, from their ministers to commissioners didn't parley with the military or did you think the military governed alone? The Nigerian civilians, especially their born again democrats of today were all part of the military ruling of Nigeria. |
lordbrain: Buhari is the only military head of state that overthrow a democratic government in Nigeria,if buhari did not topped the government of shehu shagari in 1983,Democracy would have gotten its deep root in Nigeria and Nigeria by now will be practicing liberal Democracy. Some of you must learn to stop talking fantasy or just bullocks, just to feed your micro prejudices. Buhari had never participated in any known coup in Nigeria coup history. He did not overthrown Shagari's government and neither was he ever part of the plot. IBB, Abacha, Dogonyaro, David Mark, Tanko Ayuba, Raji Rasaki, Abubakar Umar, Mamman Vatsa, Ibrahim Bako and few other IBB boys did. They only invited Buhari later to lead, when they could not agreed on a leader, especially by the junior officers like Umar and he accepted. When he refused to allow them to become billionaires from the public purse, the same group overthrew him and took back what belong to them and in come IBB, who allowed them free hand over what Buhari/Idiagbon refused them. Stop distorting facts or telling thing you knew very little or nothing about, just to support your ethnic parochial mindset views. |
Vincent 4: i ve purchased 15 Guns, just getting ready for 2015 fight....i must first of all kill dis useless Muslim Gatemen next to my compoundAnd you are supposed to be the enlightened and educated church going Christian, when your plan is to wake up and kill someone that did nothing to you, only that he speaks another tongue and call his god a different name to yours. Are you then different to Boko Haram? |
RIP Ukeoma Aikfavour. The dogs, baboons and their chief sponsor shall never know peace. Let your spirit arise and fight anybody subtly justifying your killing on this thread! Iseee!
Ask yourself this question-how many of the Jonathans, Atikus, Sambos, Buhari, IBBs etc children were victims of the dogs and baboons? Absolute zero! Don't allow politicians to use or send you where they can't dream sending theirs. Because my Igbo ancestors says that " A man that send a boy to catch the smelly rat, must make sure he provided him with the essential water to wash his hand afterward". |
During the last presidential elections, we all saw how CPC mobilised underaged voters (mainly Almajiris) to vote for Buhari. It was even alleged by the PDP that 6 million of the total votes cast for the CPC presidential aspirant General Buhari were cast by underaged voters. This was corroborated by the Late Aikfavour Ukeoma a youth corper who tried to resist the CPC riggers but paid the supreme price with his life few days after the election. With the emergence of APC via recent merger of various political parties mainly ACN and CPC, one is forced to ask if this team of underaged voters will be passed on to the APC. Pictures of underaged voters voting for Buhari are attached below;
Wasn't it PDP governors and the INEC they appointed and controlled registered those minors more than a year before the said election as against CPC that came into existence only 8 months before the election? And who won most of the gubernatorial, senatorial, House of rep'seats where those minors were registered-so who used the minors vote in your opinion? Its funny how our brain works or doesn't work when our reasoning is chronic with partiality. |
pcnwamadi: Ur still a young man, u can't comprehend wat I just wrote, its too much for ur small empty brains..I think I very much prefer my empty brain, if what you had posted earlier was the best your fill up brain can come up with. |
Sincere 9gerian: That is the problem- selective forgetfulness. Yar Adua came to power in 2007 but he offered amnesty to Niger Delta militants only in 2009. So what was he doing between 2007 and 2009? I had to make this clarification because you made it sound as if Yar Adua came to power and offered amnesty immediately. Also we must not forget that the unrest in the Niger Delta was already a major issue before 2007 elections. In fact, all the contestants in that election highlighted what they'll do to curb unrest in Niger Delta during the 2007 election campaigns. It doesn't matter whether Yar Adua offered amnesty the day he was sworn in, that is not the issue. The issue is his amnesty or whatever it is could never have got off or succeeded if he had spent most of his time blaming the very people that could make him bring the warring militants to their senses by calling them sponsors of MEND. And having new sponsor, almost every week, depending on whom his foot soldiers fancied pointing their fingers at, which was exactly what Jonathan and the likes of Okupe, Abati had done for past few years. You also said "Jonathan spent the last 3 years blackmailing, calling any opponent the sponsors of Boko Haram and even said that their leaders are in his own govt at one time". That is pure mischief. Boko haram insurgency only became a major issue after the 2011 elections.Yes Boko Haram pre dates Jonathan and his govt and yes they upgraded their activities immediately after the 2011, because that is what terrorist organisations does. Bin Laden and his group had been around before George Bush came, but they increases their actions right after Bush's election, because they wanted to take advantage of the new govt and to test their mettle. Jonathan played into Boko Haram's hand by first turning the issue into politics and making himself a victim he was not. Telling the likes of you that Boko Haram came because of him and people like you fell for it. Why? because once you injects religion and ethnicity into Nigeria political lexicon, you're bound to find sympathisers and your crooked politician knew and understands this fact about Nigerians and they use it as weapon, time and time again. To show how insignificant the Boko Haram was during the 2011 elections, Boko haram related questions did not even feature in any of the presidential debates. 2011 till date is less than 2yrs, so how did you get your 3yrs?Which presidential debate? The real one Jonathan boycotted or the one he was debating with inconsequential candidates on NTA? Pls show us link of where GEJ called "his opponents sponsors of Boko haram"?I had never bothered with the most insincere questions. Its a different thing when you say that statements from opposition politicians may have worsened the problem but its pure LIE to say GEJ or his spokespersons called "opposition politicians sponsors of Boko haram". If the govt knows they'r sponsors of Boko haram, how come non of them have been arrested? A beg take your mischief elsewhereUnless you are a virgin in this forum, if not it was a question I had been asking Jonathan and his mouth piece in Okupe and Abati many times now- why they can't arrest this people if you knew its them, especially those he claimed himself are in his own government |
pcnwamadi: Plus Buhari having Sam Mbakwe in jail, went for one of Mbakwe's wives. He established himself again for what he was/is letting Mbakwe receive in jailhouse news of the death of another of Mbakwe's two wives. One (I can't remember his name now; Odenigbo?) also died in jail.So you really had the time to sit down, type this, read it and post it and expected to be take serious person with something upstairs? ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: Buhari and other leaders of the north should deploy their leadership position to assist in curbing Boko Haram. If they continue to be lukewarm, that'll be very unfortunate. But certainly, the leaders of the north cannot ascend to Aso Rock on the back of ongoing blood bath in the north. You don't accuse me before the world of stealing your goat and use the same mouth, only to turn around asking me to assist you catch the same thief you claimed was me |
