Nothing spiritual about this grin

although It's a rare occurence.
It's called Polymelia and it's a defect that causes creatures to have extra limbs. In this case, its most possible the embryo intitally started as conjoined twins where one twin degenerated completely except for their limbs, which end up attached to the other twin. (As you know an egg cant hatch two chicks).
Another factor might have played out tho, it is called dipygus in which the body of an organsim's axis forks along the torso, so the posterior end duplicates, forming two extra legs as you have it in this chick's case.
