By Evelyn Usman and Ebun Sessou A party agent was arrested in the Oshodi area of Lagos with N3.2 million cash.
This is just as a woman, who identified herself as a Ward leader in the Ejigbo area of Lagos was arrested with a herbalist, on the Isolo/Egbe road. Vanguard gathered that some Military men on patrol, who were alerted on the harassment of voters by thugs, were on their way to attend to the distress call when they intercepted some persons in one of the pooling units in Oshodi. The bag of one of the unidentified agent attracted the Military personnel, who insisted to know what was inside. After much hesitant, the party agent(names withheld) reluctantly opened the bag , where its content was discovered to be naira notes.
Vanguard gathered that one of the Military patrol teams attended to not less than 24 distress calls between 8.30 am and 1.30 pm, from different polling units in Oshodi, Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, Ajao and Oke- Afa areas of the state.
One of the distress calls received from Igala estate on the Isolo/Egbe road, had a report of a voter whose skull was broken by a thug.
While attending another one at the Borokini hall, on the same axis at about 11.45am, a tricycle in which were three passengers was flagged down. While one of the occupants, a woman whose identity could not be immediately ascertained claimed she was on her way to her ward in Ejigbo, others simply said they were going to vote.
However, when the two men were searched, one of them was discovered to have guarded his waist with kneated charms. Upon further enquiry, the self acclaimed Ward leader said she hired the service of the herbalist and the other passenger to accompany her to her ward. Three of them were whisked away in the Military patrol van. Some suspected thugs were also arrested. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/03/party-agent-arrested-with-n3-2m-cash-in-lagos/

The All Progressives Grand Alliance governorship candidate in Enugu State, Frank Nweke Jr has called out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for deploying thugs to intimidate voters in the state.
He said this while speaking to newsmen after casting his vote.
Nweke said, “There is a clear order from the military high command and police high command that all movements across communities are prohibited, and as a law-abiding citizen, I must abide to.
“But it is regrettable that information reaching us from various parts of the states has not been as savoury as one would have wished.
“If you go to Maryland, for instance, there is a gentleman called Freedom Nnam who has been identified very clearly as coordinating thugs who are actually intimidating and threatening people that if they don’t vote for the PDP, they will be harmed. We have received several reports. There have been a lot of security breaches. People are being attacked. Voters are being intimidated by the Peoples Democratic Party, that’s what it is. It is by the PDP, the nation deserves to know what is going on in Enugu.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/03/video-pdp-thugs-intimidating-voters-in-enugu-says-apgas-frank-nweke/

Foreign Affairs › Re: International Criminal Court Issues Warrant Of Arrest On Putin for war crimes by Fareke: 6:31pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
So the international criminal court is issuing a selective warrant of arrest. Why can't they issue warrant of arrest on Benjamin Netanyahu (Prime Minister of Israel) for committing war crimes in Palestine. Trump's pardon of mercenaries guilty of massacre in Iraq leads to outrage worldwide. United States President DonaldTrump’s notorious pardons list has come in for scathing criticism domestically and internationally. One of the most controversial presidential pardons, from an international perspective, was the one extended to four U.S. mercenaries working for a private security company then known as Blackwater. Earlier last year, Trump had pardoned three other jailed U.S. Army officers who had committed war crimes against civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. The four “Blackwater contractors” who were pardoned by Trump in December had been convicted of the cold-blooded killing of 14 Iraqis at Baghdad’s Nisour Square on September 16, 2007. Seventeen Iraqi civilians were also grievously injured in that incident.

Politics › Tinubu Moves To Form Govt Of National Unity, Pacify South East With Senate Presi by Fareke(op): 10:11pm On Mar 12, 2023 |
By Levinus Nwabughiogu Ahead of Monday meeting with the National Assembly members-elect slated at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has moved to form a government of national unity, Vanguard reveals. Coming after the presidential election whose outcome is perceived in some quarters as controversial, the moves were ultimately initiated to calm frayed nerves around the country and reunite the people. It was learnt that already, the President-Elect is freely disposed to the zoning of the senate presidency of the incoming 10th National Assembly to the South East to assuage the feeling of real or perceived disparity among the people. A reliable source who craved anonymity told Vanguard that Tinubu has vowed to leave no stone unturned at ensuring that all parts of the country were embraced in his new government regardless of their political inclinations in the last elections. The source who is a long standing associate of Tinubu further revealed that Tinubu’s cabinet will be devoid of lopsidedness or ethnic discrimination. He added that it was one of the agenda to be discussed at the meeting with the members-elect of the national assembly. He said that Tinubu was said to have already informed some of his proteges among the elected senators to start shopping for anyone from the Southeast as the next Senate President. It will recalled that despite the Labour Party’s “Obidient” wave in the south east, the zone produced six senators from the ruling APC, thereby placing it in prime position for the office. The source said that Tinubu’s preference for a South East Senate President may be made known on Monday’s closed door meeting of the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; APC Senators and Members of the House of Representatives elect at the State House in Abuja. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/03/tinubu-moves-to-form-govt-of-national-unity-pacify-south-east-with-senate-presidency/
