Seun: Where can I buy very small piglets (less than 4kg) regularly to use for feeding a dog? About how much would they cost (per kg)? Tnx!.. But mine u, pork contains lots of fat. A fat dog is more likely to develop health problems. So dont feed regularly. |
spanzed: Thanks bro but i still have so much zeal for this layers of a stuff..my plan is to start small i may even find 10k more but i have gotten the cage..apart frm that i dn't no any other thing 2 do the conditions necessary and vacination..i really need ur whatsap no Farmtech so as to talk better with u..GOD bless.. This nairaland data loss really cost a lot. I've answered most of the questns u have but all were lost. And now that my laptop is faulty, i cant answer most questns off heart. All my records are in the laptop, when i repair or replace it, I'll post all the info I saved. |
Pls guys, hw much does it cost? |
iniobong888: Yes and for what type of bird ?.. For layers and broiler. I'll appreciate the info a lot! |
Keep it up. To buy snail, find a farm closer to u and buy it. The ones in market are likely to carry disease. |
rareman: Thanks man I really appreciate this info, but please is there no way to take care of tse tse fly here thanks.. There are insecticides you can spray on them to repel insects, including tse tse fly. |
Thanks for the tips. |
With 10k, its better u go for sth like rabbits. The running cost of poultry is quite high. As for quail, I dont know much about it, but people say it is more profitable than layers. |
Do u have any sample feed fmla? |
One of the way is to make large qty of hay and store them. U also plan on hw to get feedstuffs like brewers waste grain, indomie waste, etc cheap. In terms of disease, beware of tse tse fly. It affects mainly the southern part of nigeria. |
Pavore9: Just want to rear it in the future for personal consumption.ls it not what is called ogazi? The eggs has always been more expensive than the chicken's.Now I remember. Maybe u shud ask all those people that usually go to hatcheries to buy chicks. They may know where u can get it. |
Pavore9: @farmtech, where can one get guinea fowl to rear, l recall my days of rice farming @Achalla, if u head towards a place called nkwo aku betwn 6a.m&6.45a.m u will sight flock of wild guinea fowls on d fields, l caught 2 but they refused domestication!.. I dont know about that one oo. Is there good market for it? |
@Op, where are you location? |
sharonbolly: ................Yes I do.. Wow, can you tell me the type of plough you have and how much they go for? I'll like those one that will be good in the southern area. |
lagbaja: Yes you can replace cassava with maize or wheat. My advice is that you learn the pearsons's square formula. With that, you can use available feeds within your environment to achieve cost effective formulation with the desired crude protein and metabolic energy requirements for your pigs... A more complicated and better option is Linear Programming. With this, you can formulated feed to get a combinatn that will not only satisfy nutrient reqs, but will give u the cheapest combination. .. And least I forget, there are also free software that will do the linear programming and all calculatns for you free of charge! Just google it. One of them is winfeed. |

Keefarms: Lets converge at www.agricnetwork.com, there is a section for poultry farms. Hopin to hear your stories and testimonies. Lets share our ideas and ask questions. Thanks and God bless.. I'm already a member. I think u hav to engage in a largescale campaign to make it more active. |
Nwogbe: Farmtech when exactly did ur birds start laying? I got mine from farm support too and they started at exactly 18wks and 3days. Wanna compare a scenario. Thnks.. Mine started laying on the 20th week. Congratulation |
Obiagelli: i thought poultry assc. Should be more ideal. Anyway to many associations, almost no advantage joining them... Let me just try and see. |
Nwogbe: Farmtech when did ur birds drop? I got mine from farmsupport too and they dropped at exactly 18wks and 3days(last Friday) buh they are slow in picking up. 1 3 4 3 5 is d sequence which i hv experienced. Is it normal? Cos i was expecting a geometric sequence... Mine started laying at week 20, but I cant remember hw the increase really went. That info is in my faulty pc, when i get it I'll let u know. Meanwhile, keep feeding them well (dont over- or under-feed) and give them multivit from time to time. Congratulation. |
pet01: At least we should thankGod we are back on discussions and hope to make up for lost supportive ideas... Yes, we shud thank God. After several illnesses, they're now doing fine in this cool weather. We've also installed 2 fans for them. |
I'm also interested, but I wont be going into it now. Will be following this thread |
inno10: If @ 28weeks dey produce just 12 eggs per day with 350 birds, something is wrong. About the feed, u should feed them in the morning and evening. The total feed 350 layers should consumed per day is 35kg (which is 1 bag plus 10kg of feed). and your water must be sufficient 24/7. then get multivitamin it looks like blood tonic, put 4 spoon of it into a bucket of water and mix with your hand, replicate it so that it wl b sufficient for 350, give them for one week. I blv u wl see changes... Isnt 35kg feed per day too small for 350 birds? |
I've once visited the great farm. |
True talk. |
Following. It's a pity that all those useful threads were lost. |
Follow the instructn u see in the drug. What did the instructn say? Also, what is wrong with ur birds? |
yemmit90: Thanks guy, really appreciate your replies. Our target is 2kg between 5-6weeks. Still feeding them 'Grower Mash' till next 3days to achieve maximum life body weight before we start giving them 'Finisher Mash'.. How long do u feed them starter, grower and finisher. Which brand of finisher are u using? |
Obiagelli: [color=slategrey] yes o, i am still waiting for Afam4eva to respond, i read i can have shrimps and tilapia in the same pond and the shrimps actually feed on tilapia waste... My birds are fine oo. This shrimp-tilapia stuff I really like. Pls let me know when u start. .. I once saw myself in a dream raising crabs, so I'm thinking if I shud add shrimps to it, it's not a bad thing. |
U feed 350 layers only one bag per day? Not only that, u also feed them once a day. Chei!! That's where u get it wrong bro. Layers of that age shud be eating about 0.125kg per bird per day. 4or the 350 birds it is 43.75kg feed per day. One bag is 25kg, so ur birds shud be eating 1 bag and 19kg of feed. 19kg is half bag plus 6.5kg. So therefore, ur birds shud be consuming slightly over 1 and half bag per day. .. When u start feeding them well, it may take a week or two b4 u start seeing a positive result. Wish u good luck, birds can eat... |
