I'm not overly sure it could have cost him his career. Internationally, Nigeria has been known for its slipshod way of handling things. Inter Milan merely did that to restore some face that had been lost in the saga. |
Isn't the NFA's official site as bad as they come, or even worse than it could ever get? |
Great linkz. Very great sites. But Access Bank still's the leader (BTW, I felt we were looking at sites that fell within the boundaries of having Nigeria developers? Rita's site and a lot more being listed weren't done here in Nigeria). |
I think one of the reasons I'm not using PS is due to its complex workflow. Create layer, duplicate layer, mask layer, hide layer, all that's quite an upheal task while trying to get some basic operations done. So maybe its because I can't use it that I think it sucks. Sucks real hard, real bad. IMO, for web graphics, FW. For image editing, PS ![]() |
Well this is a commendable effort by Nairahost. I'm going to to give a shot. |
Well there's a site of great interest to PHP developers the world over. Anyone could check out the amount of resources there http://www.phpfreaks.com/ |
Yeah...Yahoo and Gmail people. But I guess it's Gmail first before Yahoo. Hotmail truly sucks. |
Never heard of it. But your bros would be in a better position to tell what it does, wouldn't he? |
What exactly do you mean, Smart? Are you wanting find out if Fireworks is a good graphic tool, or you want to be concurred in your view of its efficacy? Anyway, if it's the standard of FW as a good graphic tool that you mean, then yes, its great (even though not as powerful as Photoshop). But its main focal point is in the design and optimization of web graphics, which of course is why anyone would want to use it. |
Well I'm suprised you didn't buy it early enough Kazey, because it's back online. |
It's the industry standard, so yes, I use it. |
Constitutionally, Nigeria isn't a lawless country but literally - taking things on surface value - Nigeria is one of the most lawless countries in the world, and this is clearly no overstatement. It is true that the big players have got the money to throw around, but that said, Woo-Interactvie would be forever sorry if one greedy folk around was to buy it. |
I don't understand you Kazey, what's that with WYSIWYG editor with standard? |
I for one still believes that there's no greater resource for anything like Google. Give it a shot at all times, you wouldn't regret the time spent doing it. |
Well, I can't wait to try it. I'm into anything that has the brand Google (except the Picasa). A great step in the continuation of the fierce competition between Google and rival companies like Yahoo and AOL. |
Well I use Fireworks. To me, PS sucks to some extent in terms of the integration between it and DW. |
Well, thanks for the reviews. And to you Kazey, I've simply tried cutting design time and as such, there are lots of images no doubt, but on the final versions I'd make great use of CSS. And all in all, I believe these are simple. And to you Seun, I'm flattered. This is simply getting the client to approve of the design and once he's approved, I'd do it professionally. I'd be hoping for more reviews, in the meantime, here's another one: http://farriel.v26.com/finima_main.htm |
Well thanks. But do you by any means know the name of this song? |
Who knows this artist? I've heard this song on radio twice and can't help but love this guy's voice and his sugary hooks. Getting around to buying his CD seems hard. Searched for it everywhere, don't know his name, don't know what to tell the sellers. The chorus goes like this: "Ewo! If you help me see Ego, make you tell am I don go" etc... Anyone knows who did this song? And perhaps a weblink to the song lyrics? |
Well, when isn't Microsoft trying to sue someone? If not for anything, at least in retaliation for the numerous charges brought against them by rival companies. I could remember they changed their upcoming OS title to Vista from Longhorn and there's a company with that name already, and Microsoft isn't doing anything to change that. Yeah, I can't find Woo-Interactive online anymore. And no, I don't think anyone is going to get sued for registering that domain, cos it happens all the time. |
Well I was trying to be humourous...that's all. And of course I don't believe it. No one does, really. |
Reviews Wanted Here are some designs I'm currently working on : http://farriel.v26.com/hadid_main.htm , http://farriel.v26.com/mcneil_index.htm , http://farriel.v26.com/diji.htm I'd appreciate your honest reviews. (By the way, for accessibility reasons for the owners of these sites except McNeil, which is mine, images have been used for most things, instead of tidying up my codes with CSS. Naturally, there'd be too many errors if you run it through the W3C Validator.) Just the home pages have been done though, this is to facilitate easy modifications to match clients tastes. |
I suppose Woo-Interactive does have some very impressive clients and interesting sites to match but overall, their designs are mediocre, in contrast to some design firms around. All they've got are pretty big clients (Even though their Flash guys are trying). I've got folks here in PH who have done some better designs but are not yet in the big league. |
Everything about the Web? You're very sure about that? |
This has been one true resource for the discovery of interesting Nigerian sites no doubt. There are few I've loved, many I've found absolutely despicable. The Lagos Auto Bay isn't bad at all, but too many dead links. I think it would be one of the greatest when completed. To me, Access Bank (http://www.accessbankplc.com) remains the most innovative site any Nigerian organization can boast of. And I don't see any site beating in the near future. |
I think they're lucky. Particularly clueboy. Nkechi sure deserves one, putting her cause into consideration. And to you tcherokee, how much of a front-end design can you deploy? I think I'm going curious here but I would want to see your portfolio...any weblinks? |
I'd have wanted to see the stuffs these Gafunk guys have got, but for some reasons, site is down. |
Yeah, I know it sounds a little weird, but there are far better secure measures to take than download updates incessantly. |
I think that an MP3 player is quite ok for anyone to have. Anytime, anywhere. The cost of these stuffs however, is simply the most significant deterring factor. But the Zen is one I really don't think I'd give an ok signal for its purchase. Lots of my folks who have it are complaining about the way it works. Most remarkably is the navigation, which they say isn't as intuitive as the Ipod. I'd run to an IPod anyday. It's simply the coolest mobile device of the century. And Demmy, how do you mean Apple didn't make the Ipod? |
Found this thread and found it interesting, but what I want to ask is, with all the bugs continually been found, and with all the patches been developed for the Windows XP platform, are these incessant updates necessary? What I'd suggest is very relatively simple. Turn off Automatic Updates. If you need help on how to do this, I'd tell you how to. I really do not think that all of the constant updates are worth it. |
Hmm...do you honestly believe what you've just said? Everyone here in PH (my city of residence), complains about the very poor reception rate of Vmobile. About how you persistently redial until there's a connection. Yes, their customer support could be great, but what every customer greatly needs is just not a great support personnel, but a service that is justifiably real value for his or her money, or wouldn't you agree with that? |
I tried this, cos I've got a bluetooth adapter before now. I use a Nokia 3650. I did everything you specified, but in the end, the download rate of the phone sucked, I didn't enjoy it. Tell me Diakim, at how many KBPS do you think your N-gage browsed at? And, is there anything else I could do on the phone, to fasten downloads? |
