I've been a silent follower of this thread. How's pushing going? God will grant us all safe delivery.
Abeg am 26 weeks gone and I've been having indigestion especially at night. The back, waist and rib pain no be here o. Pls what can I do abt it? And Ehen can I do a scan now to know the sex of my baby? Last time I went at 5 months I was told it was too early.

Gaviscon helped a lot for my indigestion esp in my last pregnancy when I kept belching 24/7 and the discomfort never allowed me sleep

at least yours sleeps during the day...that was my baby not too long ago...you put her down 10 mins she is awake...except you are carrying her...then at night every 2 hours

but one day she just flipped and started taking 3 hours day time nap and 12 hours straight sleep at night...


try minimizing noise, swaddling, thats wrapping well in a blanket to give the illusion of being carried, you can try low music as well


but just know that THIS TOO WILL PASS

My 2 kids had theirs fall of at about 2 weeks or a little over 2 weeks. I didnt bother myself, cos it was not infected, neither was it smelling. I didnt do any hot water pressing either. All i did was clean with spirit every 3-4hrs or so.

same as my baby...took 3 weeks...she should just follow the doctor's instructions

Nipple cream are safe for the baby like lanolin, Infact abroad it's part of the discharge breastfeeding package they give at hospitals

One of my friends suggested that I buy a baby stroller and more toys to kept him calm and busy during the long queue waiting period at the POE.

Please, what kind of stroller is accepted by United Airline or any other Airlines as hand luggage?

I got married 2012,hv been trying to conceive since den, though my DH wasn't staying wt me until late 2013. Bf he later joined I tried to conceive d tyms he visited but no show. Visited sm Gyneacologists, 1 frm a federal hospital n another frm a private hospital. Ran sm test n all came out gud. I was advised to cm along wt DH n behold we found out dt his fluid s 8mil .pls wat can we do he has been on Fertilaid n count boost but not preggy yet

The most important is a lifestyle change. Does he drink? Does he smoke? Of he does encourage him to quit asap.

It's the positioning. The baby is more comfy the way you hold him with the preferred boobs. It's quite normal you can check google. Just keep trying

Do you have a breast pump? It will help to see the exact quantity you are oping and it will also help ur flow. Breast milk is a demand and supply thing the more you demand the more your supply builds.

When you give formular you can get someone to feed the baby and u use that time to pump that way u keep ur supply up and steady

Nobody said any fin was wrong with road travel. She wants to know if travelling by road to Ghana with a 6 week old baby is safe and you said yes she can, that women who go to America to deliver travel at 5 weeks.
That is by air biko.
The pressure of the cabin can't be compared to the dangers and stress that baby will be exposed to if taken by road, especially if the baby is yet to be immunised.
An adult who travels by road develops body ache, talk less of a neonate.

I disagree completely from the research Iv done online. The answer is still yes. You can advice her without joining issues with others that have contrary stance


@mrs2u if you chose to go ahead, wear the baby a full body suit and make sure he/ she is well covered with a shawl. Plan ahead and make sure you have all the things you need. You can check online, lots of tips there

Colic is uncomfortable and painful if u have experienced it as u say then u wld appreciate the relief a child gets from using "simethicone"

Nowhere in your long write up did I read that your paed in the us recommended it to you so I rest my case.

I bought infacol for my baby at CVS without doctors prescription even they have different kinds I have to ask the pharmacist which one is good because am confused and he told me to take infacol.

It's a non prescription drug, it's sold OTC. What I mean is if you take your baby to the paed for colic, they will tell you to wait it out.


Anyways let me not derail this thread do your research and be careful what goes into your babies mouth

No pediatrician in the us will recommend gripe water or infacol. Infact they advice against it

To be honest colic has no cure. You have to wait it out, it's the baby's digestive system that is not strong enough to process gas.

What you can do to help is to burp very well after feeding no matter how long it takes, lie the baby on tummy (supervised because of SIDS), use anti colic bottles if you are bottle feeding, ride your babies leg like a bicycle when they are uncomfortable it helps relieves the tummy of some gas

It's really difficult, I know first hand cuz I battled both colic and reflux but colic passes at three months for most babies

stretching and grunting is usually a sign of COLIC. (gas issues). It passes at about 3 months. experienced paed will tell you that gripe water is ogogoro, it does not work.

If they are looking for repeats there is still behind closed doors and cruel love

I have taking her to the clinic and not once have I been told to give her anything. all the while she's been having cough, catarrah and temp, they said it was viral infection and kept giving me prition, vitamin C and calpol. Please this 7 seas cod liver oil is for babies right? she is 7.5 months old. is there any other drug i should be giving her? A FTM here, apologies for the questions oh.

Do you breastfeed? i ask because it was after weaning that my baby became susceptible to viral infections so what they say about immunities in breast milk is true.

When she was on bmilk even when the whole house was down on cold, catarrh cough she never caught any of those.

Anyways i will say be careful on any drugs to be given to a child below one year! especially if it is not recommended by your paed, try freshly squeezed or pureed fruit to build up immunity
