Health / Re: Milk: I've Been Farting Uncontrollably After Taking This... by FavouredNK: 3:31pm On Sep 24, 2023
[quote author=fadilaMaikiriki post=125981501]Whenever I take milk, I tend to fart uncontrollably, like non-stop farting. Imagine you being with someone and the person is farting every three or five minutes. Honestly, this can be so annoying for the fartee and embarrassing for the farter.

The farts is the type that make the "ssshhhhhhhhhhh" sound. And sometimes the fart becomes noisy or vibrates.

Please, what can I do to remedy this? What can I do to stop the fart? It happens whenever I take milk. I take pap alot( infact I prefer pap to tea), and I take the pap with milk because I don't use sugar. Please, is there any alternative? Maybe a better milk that I can use for the pap.

Please, is there any one here who has/is experiencing this?

Or is it because of that particular company's product (milk)?

Has anyone here experienced this?

I would really appreciate your inputs, suggestions/opinions.

I wouldn't know what's your age but anyone above 30 shouldn't be taking too much of milk and if you must take at all, it should be liquid milk just once in a while.

God speaks in so many ways and sometimes not necessarily the in the audible words but thru so many actions and reactions. You will get to understand this more as you grow spiritually, cultivate the habit of studying the words of God(the Bible) and it will sharpen ur inner mind to help you hear God more.

I left for better economic opportunities , someone doing very well in Naija and is rich does not need to relocate. There is no hypocrisy here at all. Hypocrisy is if I get money for Nigeria and I am telling another rich Nigerian not to Japa. That is the difference

This advice would have yielded a better result if you are back in Nigeria and then narrating your experience, why you came back to Nigeria and why those doing well shouldn't go based on your experience. But as long as you are still there surviving, it's hypocritical otherwise why do you think that others will overcome whatever difficulties it is in relocating.

What I fail to understand is why OP is still living abroad. Isn't this hypocrisy?

I was going to ask the same question too. I still don't know the reason why some adults think that they are in the right position to think for their fellow adults. Allow people to make their own decisions and fix their mistakes if any, a lot of people are always playing this I know it all cards on Nairaland and that's not good.

Family / Re: 5 Things You Will Miss When You ‘japa’ From Nigeria by FavouredNK: 7:59pm On Apr 29, 2023
TyroneP:
‘Japa’, a lingo in Nigeria for deliberate exit from the country especially for greener pastures abroad, has been a constant happening over the last few years with students, professionals and partners forming the chunk of those fleeing its shores.

As enticing as the idea of being in a relatively ‘better’ country is, the experiences of people who have left have continued to prove that truly ‘there is no place like home.’
Taking a look at the diverse peculiarities of Nigeria, here are five things you will miss if you find yourself abroad.
Nigerian Foods

Food is peculiar to every country. And Nigeria, with its plethora of ethnic groups, has a slew of foods its citizens don’t joke with. From Amala, to Akpu, Ogbono, Bread and Beans down to Moi Moi, these are foods that are dear to every Nigerian, and no amount of civilization can unplug the relish for these foods.

The moment you are leaving the shores of the country, you are as well leaving behind these ‘unique’ delectables whose tastes are never the same even when taken outside of their place of origin ( Largely because they’re transported to other markets with lots of additives that change the organic tastes ).

2. Weather

If there is a thing in Nigeria that is highly underappreciated, it is the weather. Nigerians in the diaspora have always expressed their struggles with the frosty weather abroad, and how much they miss the cozy and friendly weather in the country.

3. Family and Friends

Moving to a new country most times entails leaving behind family members and friends who you might not see for as long as your stay abroad. Though technology helps us connect beyond boundaries, the feeling of being physically around your family members and friends is matchless.

4. Owambe

Nigeria is ‘big’ on parties – and that is on period. Flamboyant, lavish, expensive, food-filled, dramatic, these features of the Owambe parties are unequaled anywhere in the world. It is one of the many things that make Nigeria exclusive, and being in the country unparalleled.

5. Free Amenities

Abroad you pay for almost everything from as high as electricity bills to as low as water bills. Their social amenities are prioritized, and it works in a way that you cannot evade paying for the bills of the amenities you use. In Nigeria, water bills are scarce as almost everyone has their own system of getting water; indiscriminate parking of cars is common but can’t be dared abroad without you being ticketed.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/04/5-things-you-will-miss-when-you-japa-from-nigeria/

I can eat any Nigerian food that I crave for at anytime same way I will enjoy it in Nigeria so I strongly disagree with you on that plus there numerous vendors that can ship any Naija foodstuff you want at anytime to any country.

Family / Re: How Do You Handle Rumors About Yourself? Share Tips by FavouredNK: 6:11pm On Apr 29, 2023
bukatyne:
From your own examples, the rumours have a bit of substance perhaps embellished.

1. You stake a bet with a married man that if he successfully woos a lady, you would give him N10k. Do you understand that you are encouraging a man to commit adultery? While he is ultimately responsible for his choice, you are aiding and abetting him hence his wife is very correct.

2. You bought a partly stolen(it is either stolen or not), partly used laptop for approx N13k. Your neighbours thought you bought it in a honest way and accessed the laptop's value based on the market value. Now, I do not know the living arrangements you have that your neighbours know every new thing you buy however, they are right to assume you have hammered given your new purchase and clean up. Do they have the right to harass you, definitely not.

I would advise you re-evaluate your life style and live a blameless life before accusing people of starting rumours about you.

I tire o, hearing from the horses mouth then it's not a rumor

Family / Re: My Wife Hates My Daughter From My First Wife by FavouredNK: 5:25pm On Apr 27, 2023
Fineman2:
My name is John. I am 35 years old. I lost my first wife in 2020, so I remarried in 2021 so that my daughter can grow up with a motherly love.

However, my new wife has made it a point of duty to always maltreat my daughter.

Each time, I want to interfere, she tells me to stay out of it. I know I should stand up for my daughter but I am in love with this woman because she came into my life when I needed someone the most.

I reached out to the family of my late wife last month to allow my daughter to stay with them while I send money for her upkeep, but they refused. They said my daughter cannot grow up without a mother and still grow up without the presence of a father in her life.

I have had several conversations with my wife and I have begged her to accommodate my daughter since she is yet to conceive but she told me to get rid of her from the house.

She practically complains about everything my daughter does. I am unhappy about this but at the moment, I am caught in between the woman I love and my beloved daughter.

Please what should I do?

You claimed to love this your new wife so much but the question is does she also love you? because a person who sincerely love you will always love you to be happy at all times and also love to do anything that makes you happy. True love shouldn't be one sided at all so if this woman truly loves you she will also love your daughter knowing that seeing your daughter happy will also make you happy. But she seems to have an agenda different from your own agenda and reason for her presence in your life.
Family / Re: Should I Get My Brother's Wife Arrested, After His Demise? by FavouredNK: 7:18pm On Apr 25, 2023
This really doesn't make much sense to me, what are you arresting her for now? For loosing her husband or for not relating well with your family, truth is you have only told us your own version of how she instigated your brother against the family but not what must have led to that. But the question is how well did your family treat her as a daughter in law because its always very easy to point accusing fingers on the daughters in-law especially if she's not the family's choice. Otherwise I don't see any reason any woman will want to kill a husband that she loved being that you didn't tell us anything about the couple having any marital issues or your brother being so rich for the wife to want to kill him to claim his properties. This woman is grieving a very big loss right now yet you want to add to her pains just because you and your family don't like her. Have you tried putting any of your sisters in this woman's shoe and feel her pains for once, think of how you will feel if someone else is doing this to any of your sisters in such a situation. Just go and carry out a DNA test if you are so sure that your brother was killed by anyone, but just know that anyone with a BP related issue is like a time bomb ready to blow up at any time no matter how healthy they may look. I am a nurse and has encountered a very healthy man who walked into the hospital to pick up his wife, while waiting for her he asked us to check his BP which we did and it was 280/160. We quickly told him to see a doctor he refused and was busy making jokes with everyone around, the next thing he relaxed his head on the wall saying he wants to rest a little only for the wife to come out the next 3 mins trying to call him so they can go but alas the man was dead. So my brother high BP does not give any notice before killing it's victim so think twice before you act.

And who do you think you are to know my only daughter better than I do? pls keep your lectures to urself and ur families that didn't bond from the onset. My daughter is my friend and confidant, a full grown woman and adult who can take any decisions she want without my interference especially in a place like America. We chat like two adults without any restrictions and I want you to understand this simple English, she is not being COMPELLED to keep her virginity by anyone so she is not faking it for anyone either. She asked for a purity ring as a birthday gift at age 13 and when I further enquired she told me that she want it to be a reminder of her vows to God till when she is ready, so it's purely a personal choice and decision and not to impress anyone but God. And for the records my daughter hasn't got time for flirting, believe it or leave it pls, she is an Efiko.

oga, i can beat my chest and bet my scrotum that she is not a virgin. If you doubt me, take her to four different hospital to test her virginity and you will see that she lost it when she was in secondary sch. Let think of this..... How will a father know that his daughter is still a virgin?

First of all I m not ur Oga but a devoted mother who has been closer to her daughter from birth. Mind you this is not even a daughter that anyone is pressurizing not to date men and have sex rather we will even encourage her to use condom when she want because it's an enlightened family. This choice and decision she made was not compelled by anyone, it's between her and God and made from the place that she sees men as distractions to achieving your goal in life. So I don't owe you any further clarifications for a child I know better than you do plus it's not compulsory you believe me, I just contributed on a thread like any other person

How did you confirm your daughter's virginity?

I don't have any reason to confirm anything if neither me nor my husband compelled her to choose that lifestyle for herself. It's a life she chose without anyone's command or supervision, a choice she and God alone made which she could have decided not to if she doesn't want and no one can do anything about it. So I don't have any reason to bother myself about whether what is glaringly true is fake or not. I am her mother who rather tries to encourage her to start dating but she keep insisting that she doesn't need that distraction for now till she achieve certain goals of her life. Though it's not in your place to believe me as I only aired my opinion on a thread.

How many virgin girls remain for Nigeria? The last virgin girl here died in 1969 during the civil the war. We're left with girls like siofra, iyaebe, persephone1, goodlady, sweeplum etc.

Why are you people always underrating Nigerian girls this much, yes a higher percentage of Nigerian girls are bad but that doesn't mean there are no good Nigerian girls out there. They just want to oppress and intimidate others with smaller vehicles.

There is a limit to what the government can do, we as individuals should learn to do better.

Don't you think you are rather the one displaying sheer ignorance and lack of English comprehension. He only said such an " avoidable incidence" and never said either by Tinubu or Sanwo Olu. And assuming there was a competent and functioning supervisor who takes time to ensure that both drivers and vehicles are in good condition before taking off with passengers, wouldn't the accident been avoided? It's important therefore to always read in between the lines before commenting to avoid to making joke of oneself at the end.
