Deploying this card reader for a test run in the general elections was a big goof on inec's part. It should have been introduced in piece- meals. First in anambra, then ekiti and osun. By now most of the loopholes would have been plugged. They should have taken a cue from JAMB where the CBT was introduced gradually over the years.

This election is definitely headed for the courts anyhow, all because of one man Jega. Regardless of the outcome of the election, I hope jega gets arrested and prosecuted. The man is trying to plunge this nation into crisis.

Pls, can someone enlighten me a bit, did INEC postpone PVC collection deadline up till now? Because I just heard of people still queueing and collecting PVCs in Alimosho, Ikotun to be precise. I asked someone and he said that the other deadline was 'JEGA's own, that the INEC office there there has been issuing cards even up till now.

Just kidding. If both of you are compatible, then the height shouldn't be so much of an issue. If both of you have tall people in your family, then there is a likelihood of having average to tall kids. My parents are no more than 5ft6 inches each but the shortest amongst us is 5ft 9inches and the tallest 6ft.2 inches.

Besides give those kids beans especially ewa agonyin twice a day for months and see wonders. I have seen this one work on a set of kids with 4ft. Plus parents. let the kids grow till their teenage years and then innundate them with ewa, chei!

My dear, I am not in support of anyone who is AS marrying another AS. No. The case in this thread is different.
The woman is already married to the man, and already has a baby who is AA. Why then seek for divorce?
If she needed more children why can't she adopt?
What if her son had been SS, will she equally seek for divorce? Knowing fully well that the burden may fall on only her.

Nice point you made there especially in the last sentence. Another thing with adoption is that it costs a lot. I guess they would be better off not expanding the family for now considering the husband is a factory worker.

She can't gamble with a human life. Fact is she can only have one AA child, 2 AS children and 1 SS child in every four children. The order in which they come is random. So would you rather have her gamble and sire a child that might just know only pain and anguish in its lifetime? I know not all sicklers die, but a lot do and the problem is not even in the dying, it is in the living in misery and anguish. They can't do sports, smoke and do a lot of things that we take for granted. Not forgetting the self esteem issues resulting from years of all the pity-party from people.

With all the technological advancements, there is still no cure for it. This is a sickness that affects only black people, so who is gonna find the cure? Some sicklers eventually live successfully with it, but hey! What is the likelyhood?

Asides, the genotype issue, no one is looking at it from the trust angle. If your wife told you a monumental lie before marriage and you later found out, would you still trust her again? If you found out that she is actually like 10 years older than you or that she was sleeping with your pastor while you two courted, would you still trust her?

That said, I do not support outright divorce because of the child involved. The child needs both parents and one hallmark of being a good parent is being selfless for your kids albeit within reasonable limits and barring all unnecessary encumberances.

But let's also take the seriousness of the marital vow into consideration. What the woman is doing now is what she should have done during courtship. Being afraid of having a SS child is not enough reason to end a marriage. Moreover she already has a child, who is AA.
My question, why not stop at that one and give him the best you can offer? What if that AA had been SS and the husband decided to end the marriage, how will she have taken it?

My point is this,
1) She is already married, and her fears is not enough reason to seek for a divorce.
2) Her son will now grow up without the love of at least one parent. cos his home is already broken.
3) She could have chosen to give her child the best, and equally give hubby a choice in raising his own kid.

4) Being SS is not a death sentence. And I will continue to advice against AS/AS couple getting married. But since they were already married, she should tried to make her marriage work............etc

I like to think that there is always a way out of every situation. Always. In this case, they could have simply adopted more children if they wanted to, but I would not support them conceiving another child.

My dear, this is a serious issue. The trauma associated with raising an SS child is not what any parent would want to relive. It is just too much. The frequent trips to the hospital in the middle of the night, the sleepless nights, the agony of watching the child suffer for the sins of the parents, living in constant fear that all your love and care for the child could all be in vain, the anxiety, all the physical and emotional toll it takes on all involved, not forgetting the money that would be expended, trust me it is not 'beans'. No child should have to suffer for their parents' indiscretion. In the end, the happiness the parents seek by being together in union would have been annulled by the trauma of seeing their seed go in and out of crisis.

The couple got lucky with the first child, let them leave it at that. If they happen to get back together, they should consider adopting.
