Now we've found out that it was a deliberate sabotage by some worthless and incompetent civil servants and residue from the last useless and incompetent administration PMB should have fired long time.

For this, I blame PMB. Trusting the same useless, worthless and incompetent people Nigerians just rejected at the polls to look out for him was a fatal error and naivety on his part.

Nigerians went to the polls to get rid of these bad eggs and PMB rightfully trying to do things the right way in effect allowed the same people to contaminate his activities.

These worthless and and incompetent people should have been sacked.

PMB, you reap what you sow.

I am by no means an authourity in Igbo history, but I will give you my little opinion from some of the researches conducted by scholars in the field.
The etymology of the word Igbo is still subject to debate. But it has been established that it has been used to ascribe identity to folks east of the Niger before the advent of the Europeans. Whereas Igbo consciousness may have been enhanced and brought to fore by the balkanization of the bight of Biafra and the entire Niger area by the Europeans, there are schools of thought that suggest the notion has been there for a long time coming albeit in its subtlety.

The Igbo history is an interesting one and I dont know why it is not incorporated into our primary and secondary school curriculum beyond introductory classes which barely scratch the surface, yet we are subjected to Roman, british and the Ottoman empire studies when we have enough of our own to deal with. That is hypocrisy and short sightedness on the part of our government.
PetsRe: No Parrot Owners Here? by Fawklicant: 9:35am On Sep 26, 2015
I used to own 4 parrots back in the day. Two very violent ones (one specie like 'merlin' above) and two other beautifuuuuuuul ones. The pretty ones had tails as long as 8-10 inches or maybe more. Very graceful. The violent ones would attack anything that came close to their cage.
Always alerted us when anyone was approaching our stairs. Noisy during the day, but calm at night. Always pulled a Houdini in their escape stunts. You could come out to see wiregauze bent or broken to facilitate their escape. Scoffeild of prison break would have marvelled at such art. grin

I miss them though it been so many years. One died naturally, one did a jail break and never returned, the meanest did a jail break and got bitten on the neck by a monstrous rat accross the next street. The prettiest also died in the same way, rat bite to the neck in the same street.

The problem we East of Niger Igbos ve is that we tend to forget those on the West side, when its clear that our ancestors especially from that Anambra area were the ones that crossed the Niger some millennia back to settle there.
We must never forget them! That is a promise I've made to myself cool
My brother, if they make conscious effort, they will not be forgotten. Ask any anioma igbo what tribe he is from and he will be quick to reply 'Delta'. Is Delta a tribe? Until they start seeing themselves as part pf Igboland and not some ethereal supreme race, sorry they cant be helped. The worst form of brainwshing that can occur to someone is that which obliterates your sense of origin/ancestry. Some of their parents have passed down this contempt for those accross the Niger to them and they dont know any better. Give them a form to fill in the tribe section and you start seeing 'Anioma', 'Kwale', etc. Haha. I laugh because Igbo land has hundreds of units like that and it would be sheer ignorance for one to fill 'wawa', 'agbaenu', 'agbaja' etc as their tribe when these are just tags for identifying a unit, some of which are even considered offensive sef. These people speak Igbo, practice the Igbo culture, adorn Igbo attires and bear Igbo names, yet they tell you they are deltans? Puleeeze!

Doubt me? Next time you see a 'delta' igbo, ask him which tribe he represents and listen to what he has to say. Even those that will admit to be Igbo will tell you they are 'delta igbo'. I mean who does that? When does your state supercede your race that you have to mention it first? Imagine every Igbo man putting state first before race...Enugu igbo, anambra igbo? Or even ogun yoruba or sokoto hausa? Abeg o!
CultureRe: Igbo Stereotypes by Fawklicant: 8:44am On Sep 25, 2015
Gurgle:
You know that is only the surface of Igbo politics which I learned from my parents, im actually quite clueless lol. And yeah I imagine its hard for Igbos living in Lagos and Abuja because those places have their own inherent culture which is contributed to by lots of tribes from all over Nigeria. It takes a conscious effort from the individual to remember that youre not all the same deep down

Yeah, before we were colonised there wasn't even anything called "Igbo"; we were all happy in our villages. We only became a big group in the face of other big groups, which is why we're still so disunited. We weren't really made to be united in the first place
I was going to ignore your earlier gaffe', but I couldnt let another one go uncorrected to avoid misconceptions, so permit me. Ebonyi used to be in Old Anambra state which was then split into Enugu and Anambra states. Then later, Ebonyi was carved out of Enugu state with areas like Ohafia/Afikpo from Imo state added to it.

The Igbo wasnt a creation of the british as you earlier postulated. The Igbo race has been there long before the advent of the british. Just like now, the Igbos have no supreme leader and has been ruled by chiefdoms in discrete packs. I will explain more later as I'm on a time budget now. A simple google search will help enlighten you. Read about works from Igbo scholars including Acholonu. Even american slave trade documents of close to 3 centuries ago used the word 'Iboe' to refer the people of the region. Note the 'iboe' word is an anglicized form of 'Igbo' as the consonant 'gb' is not in English lexicon and the white man would find it next to imposible to pronounce that. Try it with any one you can find.

My brother, stop playing politics with this. Dont reduce it to PDP/APC as you are doing now. It could have happened anywhere, that is immaterial. The point is 'who' they brazenly kidnapped and events leading up to the act.
zeefa:
I have gone through all the posts and non of you actually mention or focus on the state the incident occurred. For your information, the kidnapping happened in ONDO state being governed by DR MiMIKO.

Ondo state government should make a shift response and put all the state security services at work to ensure this man is freed.

I really don't know why FFK can't direct his first attack on the PDP state, but he politicised it by calling on the Federal Govt to effect his freedom, what about the state government where it happened.

I pray they free him soon!
PoliticsRe: There Will Be Consequences If Falae Is Not Freed – Fani-kayode Tells FG by Fawklicant: 10:19am On Sep 22, 2015
My heart bleeds when people play politics with everything. What Fani-Kayode said is true. Very much on point. These fulani herdsmen have been terrorizing people in the south and middle belt with impunity and nobody seems to care. Now they have abducted an elder statesman and folks are still playing politics with it. Shame on you all. You can ignore the messenger if you want, but make no mistake to ignore the message. If anything should happen to Chief Falae, there will definitely be consequences. I am even surprised FFK is the only southwest figure to have condemned this act in the strongest terms. Are the rest so afraid to be in their slave master's black books? Cowards of the highest realm.

Maybe next will be Alaafin of OYO. The fulani herdsmen are becoming more daring. I wish all the southern communities hosting them would just rise up and expel them from their communities. They are an ungrateful bunch leaving only destruction anywhere they go.

I learnt from a source in unical that the accused dean has been suspended and an acting dean appointed in his stead. His licence would also most likely be revoked. I would like students of the faculty of law to confirm this. For me it shouldn't end there. The family should not settle out of court. This man needs that 14 years imprisonment sentence to serve as a deterrent to others. Any man that rapes any woman is nothing but a coward that deserves to be castrated.

There are indications that the man is even a pastor in his church. I wonder what kind of congregation he pastors. For those who want to see the man's pix, here it is...

Just let those randy mofvcks keep yapping and when u have enough implicating evidence, post it online. The school will become embarrased eventually by the time these videos keep surfacing and let the lecturer go.

This narrative has even made me to disbelieve d story the more.
In my humble opinion, this is a lecturer with low pass scores in his subjects and students are now using this poorly concocted tale to get back at him for failing too many.
Imagine a prof raping a student in his office and she is there shouting, comes out with a torn skirt and goes home without reporting d incident or creating a scene.
Yes, rape exists, but not this brazen a manner.
Abeg,u people should try another method, this lie is too poor!
The story is true. I have heard about the man and his antics before. He has been on to someone I know and asides buying a pepperspray for her, She has my blessing to cut off his equipment if he tries such with her. He has grabbed her from behind before and she Escaped and that was when I got wind of it. He is lucky this case came up because worse fate awaited him that would have put paid to his career permanently.

Make no mistake. This man is everything that he has been accused amd more. Just surprised he hasnt been dealth with by all the malabites forming Godzilla in the zanga. Where I'm from, roaches like this get put in proper perspective. All those trying to do PR for the bastard here should just know that at the end of the day, its peoples daughters he is ruining their lives. And believe me, he is not the only one in the school/faculty. There are lots of them there thats why they have this solidarity and sympathy movement going for him now. I am aware that there are those who offer themselves willingly, that is their cross to bear.

Rape victims are usually scared to come out because of reactions like yours and that is why I salute this young girl for her courage. Why would they when people would twist the tale and say they had consentual sex amd the man reneged on agreement that is why she is crying uhuru. This attitude is bad and needs to be frowned upon. Wait till your sister or loved one gets raped especially at a tender age and see what it does to her confidence and psyche. I pray none of you experiences this.

Lord knows that if I was a woman, no man born of a woman will rape me and go free. Lord Oh lord!

Ever since the campaign for the presidential election started, i did make up my mind to vote for change, cos there was no visible federal government project in my state,
I changed my mind today at the last minute, when i talked to a few hausa guys at my polling booth, then realised that the were all voting for Apc, and the were even cursing Jonathan and even accusing him of sponsoring bokoharam, i told them about Jonathan's almajiri education project and the many projects he has done in the north, i even told them that Jonathan hasn't done much here for us his people, compared to the north, but the had none of it, then i realised that this guys were voting based on religious sentiments,
I had no choice but to vote based on 'na our man' sentiments too,
Though am not proud of myself, Afterall am still going to be doing this business am doing no matter who wins,
There is so much hate between the tribes and religions in this country, 'lets stop living this lie' called Nigeria, lets divide this country
My guy you did nothing wrong. You should be proud of yourself. As far as Nigeria is concerned in 2015 and the nearest future, voting will mostly be along ethnic and religious lines first before other considerations. Some people think it is their birthright and hardly use performance as yardstick. Besides, you don't owe anybody any apologies for whoever you chose to vote. It is your prerogative.
