InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by feelgood(m): 8:38pm On Apr 17, 2007
Has anyone been watching ABC transport? It's shares have been steadily rising since it got listed on the exchange. Also the company has rapidly been expanding it's operations nationwide and its fleet has greatly increased. Recently, it entered into a business partnership with fidelity bank on e
booking and payments.
Any comments/advise from the pros out there?

BusinessRe: Muslims Reject New Naira Notes: No Arabic Inscription by feelgood(m): 8:44am On Apr 13, 2007
While you folks are busy working yourselves up, the people - and that includes animists, atheists, christians, muslims, et al - are busy transacting freely and happily with the new notes. Because a few guys exercise their rights to criticize govt action is not enough to quarrel one with another. The simple folks apparently have other priorities on their minds than the color and inscription on a piece of paper.
So let's wisen up guys and quit this session. There are more important things. I doubt if originator of thread's goal was for us to get our blood pressure up. Can I be given the privilege of being the last poster on this thread? Even if it is for the only reason of making me feel good.

PoliticsRe: Ribadu As The New Inspector General Of Police, What Do You Think? by feelgood(m): 8:18am On Apr 13, 2007
Batu. quit the brickbat. It would be nice to have Ribadu as the IGP- he would be a breath of fresh air; I'm sure the Police would be the better for it.
Fineboy, nigeria should discard this archaic type of promotion in the service and encourage merit. High performers should be encouraged and promoted as recognition for their performance. While I agree with mamajama that it may be difficult to make Ribadu the IGP but then if only wishes were horses, sure would love to see him as the top cop in the land. The guy is good

PoliticsRe: Are Thursday April 12 & Friday April 13 Public Holidays? by feelgood(m): 1:18am On Apr 13, 2007
Dont know why you folks are stressing yourselves over the hols stuff. The banks still worked, and I also had a business discussion with my brokers on thursday. Also, what stops the Supreme court from deciding Atiku's appeal next week by reaffirming inec's power 2 disqualify candidates?
It appears from the posts that quite a number of pple have assumed the case would favour Atiku. It may turn out otherwise.
I lose no sleep on the antics of the politicians at times like this - it's not new. It will play out and at the end the players will be backslapping themselves oblivious of the trauma and aches they had caused numerous folks. Politics Nigeriana defies standard logic & where care is not taken, can cause depression, high blood pressure, heart failure, etc to innocent and sincere folks who though they wish the country well have no grasps of the peculiarity of the Nigerian situation.
Pls dont let the adrenalin run good folks, the politicians are just up 2 their usual games. The 'free' hols impresses no one - we suspect the motive behind it - and I bet, the apex court is not fooled either, though I suppose they could do with the extras after all the pressure the politicians have put them thru these past months. Meanwhile, other court cases seem to be on hold and some innocent pple are losing out as a result of the focus of the courts.
So good folks, let's chill - we can't influence these events anyway- and watch these drama play out. But one thing is sure, our know it all President will leave and God will not allow his thieving vice to come back. Nigerians deserve a breather from this devious duo.
Nigeria will not die! So arise o compatriots and let us meet at the poll stations.
God bless you all

Treating a Cough

The pharmacist walks into the store to find a guy leaning heavily against a wall. He asks the clerk, "What's with that guy over there by the wall"?

The clerk responds, "Well, he came in here this morning to get something for his cough. I couldn't find the cough syrup, so I gave him an entire bottle of laxatives."

The pharmacist yells, "You can't treat a cough with a laxative!"

The clerk responds, "Of course you can! Look at him, he's afraid to cough!"

PhonesRe: Mtel Wap by feelgood(op): 8:55pm On Apr 05, 2007
Daniel, if the G sign did not appear on ur phone, then the cellsite covering ur area is not gprs enabled and you may not browse in that coverage area.
However, from ur post, it appears you have not grasped the mechanics & functions of ur phone- read the manual very well. Its a shame that there's no gprs in your area for you to experience the Mtel advantage in browsing. Lets hope Mtel will soon make all their sites gprs enabled. Your decision to continue using mtn, etc is wise as you cannot wait indefinitely.
Be cool

Ok Daniel, then try another cell site area and if it's the same no network, reconfigure ur phone to automatic network selection. But If there's signal, then ur home cell site has a prob. Anyway, which location are you?
Drogba u are right in your observation. However, I trust they are waking up from their slumber.

Epoma, there's a technical problem making it difficult for a lot me pple to load. I've been told the matter is being tackled and will be resolved soon.
Daniel, I dont know why you dont have signal- have you been using the line for long? or is it new? I hope u are in a coverage area. anyway, I have passed your number plus the other guys to Mtel 4 action and that shd solve ur problems. Your case is of particular interest to me: you are indeed among the rare breed of Nigerians who prefer only things nigeria where available.

Fasone, I dont think you have been disconnected. The gprs could disappear if there are technical problems, etc. but it will come back - just be patient.
Ibrahim, you are missing out of the fun. How to configure ur phone has been mentioned earlier and it is simple- it's like wanting to cross to the other side, you get to the bridge and you begin to worry if the bridge will hold- meanwhile cars and lorries are busy crossing over. That's why you are still where you are
PoliticsRe: Who Is Telling The Truth? by feelgood(m): 1:45pm On Mar 21, 2007
Too true, dblock.
@all
between Obj and Atiku, neither is telling the truth. Both are corrupt and BOTH should go. Obj has said he would leave come May 29, but Atiku wants to continue - and that's the problem. If only Atiku agrees to retire then all the acrimony and arguments will stop and we can go back to picking the pieces of what is left of our lives and carry on, but no, Atiku is not finished yet until he impoverishes Nigeria. And we cannot allow that. TO KEEP ATIKU OUT OF ASO ROCK IS A TASK THAT MUST BE DONE.
Nairalanders, that in my opinion is the issue. Also, is it not about time we have graduates at the helm of affairs? Is it not time enough for the 'simpletons' in power?
Atiku must be stopped - his supposed turnaround to democratic ideals Shouldnt fool discerning minds; his political associates ( Audu Ogbeh, Tom Ikimi, Tinubu et al) give one the jitters when you consider their antecedents.
I feel for Buhari - he is surrounded by sharks and dogs of war; they simply wont let him operate. Back to my point: NO TO ATIKU!
PoliticsRe: Inec Vs Atiku by feelgood(m): 5:40pm On Mar 19, 2007
Inec vs Atiku? Dead wrong ol chap. It is actually The people vs the crooks; and both parties are represented by folks that got foisted on them either by design or default: Obj (the wily ol fox) and Atiku (the hog). So the topic should be aptly titled:
the fox vs the hog.
And who do you expect to win? Check the voting pattern up there- we are in a democracy, abi?

Kalu is a natural con man and a joke. Some mothers really do have pple like him- and he should be tolerated but not taken seriously.
Which birth certificate did he see? Obj had no birth certificate. The guy did not know when exactly he was born. He said so himself long ago- his age is a guesstimate after considering local events that took place at the time of his supposed birth as stated by local elders present at the time.
But then is obj's age the issue? Anyway, Kalu presents a comic relief and catharsis for these times.
Now back to the issue at hand, Atiku out at last. Good riddance. Oops, sorry; wrong thread. Hey, where are you guys? wait for me. Don't wanna miss out of the party on the dumping of the hog by the wiley ol fox. NIGERIA CAN MOVE AGAIN!

A Smart Woman

A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold Monday morning and it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished. But, amazingly, neither of them is hurt.

After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, "So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but we're unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days."

Flattered, the man replies, "Oh yes, I agree with you completely. This must be a sign from God!"

The woman continues, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished, but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."

Then she hands the bottle to the man. The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman. The woman takes the bottle and immediately puts the cap back on and hands it back to the man.

The man asks, "Aren't you having any"?

The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police."
Jokes EtcA Fish Story by feelgood(op): 3:32pm On Feb 28, 2007
A Fish Story

A Texas redneck was stopped by a game warden in East Texas recently with two ice chests of fish, leaving a river well known for its fishing.

The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish"?

"Naw, my friend, I ain't got no license. These here are my pet fish."

"Pet fish"?

"Yep. Every night, I take these fish down to the river and let 'em swim around for awhile. Then I whistle and they jump right back into this ice chest and I take 'em home."

"That's a bunch of baloney! Fish can't do that!"

The redneck looked at the game warden for a moment and then said, "It's the truth. I'll show you. It really works."

"Okay, I've got to see this!"

The redneck poured the fish into the river and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to him and said, "Well"?

"Well, what"? said the redneck.

"When are you going to call them back"?

"Call who back"?

"The fish!"

"What fish"?
Christianity EtcEritrea Needs Your Prayers by feelgood(op): 2:23pm On Feb 27, 2007
Another Christian dies in Eritrean jail.

Eritrea (MNN) -- Next, the story of Magos Solomon Semere (MAH-gohs solomon se-MEH-ray) is at an end. Four-and-a-half years after the Eritrean regime jailed him for worshiping in a banned Protestant church, Voice of the Martyrs Canada's Bernie Daniel confirms his death while still in jail. "He was a young Eritrean Christian, aged 30, and died in a military jail in the southern part of Assab. He was sick with pneumonia, and I can assure you that he was being brutally treated by the military authorities in that southern most part of Eritrea." More than 2,000 Eritrean citizens have been jailed solely for practicing their faith. Semere is the third known Christian to die for his faith in Eritrea since last October. "I would be cautious to put it as escalation because it came kind of in a time frame distance, but still, it just shows the brutal treatment of Christians still being perpetuated by local officials in the military jails. We have to still continue to pray for the body of Christ in Eritrea."

Full story: http://www.MNNonline.org/article/9633

Christians should pray for God's grace and strength to the brethren over there who are facing persecution for practising their faith. Also, pray for God's mercy on the Eritrean leaders and that the gospel will continue to be preached in the Land.
