PoliticsRe: How Is The Strike In You City? by feelgood(m): 8:13am On May 29, 2007
Strike? which strike? You mean the children day and democracy day hols declared by govt? Many people observed the hols and many also went about their business. The Presidential inauguration fireworks and cultural night at the millenium park yesterday was euphoric -a lot of families attended the same.
Dont know if any strike was observed o

Christianity EtcRe: Men And Women Don't Pray Together In The Mosque. Why? by feelgood(m): 9:21am On May 27, 2007
You do not have to be a guest on the board, my dear goodguy. Apart from the fact that some of us miss your contributions, I believe you'll be doing a great disservice to the Lord by not helping to correct or draw our attention to some of the errors of our ways, etc. We live in trying times and I see 'brother against brother' as an effective tactic of satan to ensure genuine and potential converts dont remain with the Lord - esp when they see the power of our example as no different from what they see in the world.
They grace of the Lord is ever sufficient, you'd agree no doubt; it is therefore time to get back into the battle, you've retreated long enough. So pls keep the posts coming.
Christianity EtcRe: Men And Women Don't Pray Together In The Mosque. Why? by feelgood(m): 6:59pm On May 26, 2007
Did the bible advocate such peace at the expense of muffling the truth? Come on now David, which truth? that muslim women don't fellowship together with their men? How does that 'truth' edify us as xtians? Are we now called to mock or ridicule people of other faiths? My initial post was made to enable us look away from such mundane things especially as some of us do have 'logs' in our eyes - and that clearly makes us unqualified to jeer/laugh at our neighbors' . I also do not see the relationship of your quotation of verses in Matt 12 and 23 to the issue of mocking another's faith unprovoked as epitomised by the thread - except of course, they were used to support your knowledge of my hypocrisy. But then I suppose I should remain grateful that you at least agree that some xtian congregations practise this type of gender segregation, which has no biblical backing (but just an old middle eastern and African cultural trait).
I have come to realise that some of us would prefer a xtian to stridently defend his faith and show his superiority (and occasionally through unprovoked 'missiles and verbal assaults') especially to the people of other religions, lest he may be deemed not worthy of his calling. I trust you will concede to me the right of not agreeing to that posture - and of course I concede to you also the right to call me mischievous, hypocrite or any other Names you may choose to honor me with hereafter.
Many regards
Christianity EtcRe: Was Jesus Christ Crucified? by feelgood(m): 11:22am On May 26, 2007
After going thru some of the posts on this ur thread, dear Babs, I Couldnt help but remember an old joke that seems quite apt here:
said one mathematician to the other: 'now that you have invented the zero, what do you now have? Nothing.
Christianity EtcRe: Men And Women Don't Pray Together In The Mosque. Why? by feelgood(m): 8:40am On May 26, 2007
There are some xtian congregations where the women are not allowed to sit together with men, but at the back during worship services.
So what's the purpose of our posts here? arrogance, sarcasm, pride, guile or simply mischief? Are our posts in harmony with Heb 12:14?

IslamRe: What Will Women's Reward Be In Jannah When Men Are Blessed With Heavenly Maidens by feelgood(m): 11:25pm On May 25, 2007
Aint you guys ever tired of this same ol recycled question? Its becoming quite boring. In some other threads, we accuse muslims of starting a 'fight' that calls for our stout defence; by this thread, are we not doing exactly what we accuse our muslim brothers of? The bible encourages us to follow peace with all men as much as lieth in us - dont know for what gain or purpose this thread is.
God bless you
PoliticsAdedibu Unleashes Mayhem In Ibadan by feelgood(op): 8:10pm On May 24, 2007
Outgoing Oyo state guv had planned to hold local govt elections in the State 2day. This could not be as thugs loyal to the Ibadan strong man went round to suspected polling stations with guns and machetes within the city to scatter/disrupt same. On my way to a local bus company this afternoon, we ran into the hoodlums brandishing the weapons and terrorising local folks who dared to come out to vote. We had to take shelter in a nearby house for about 20mins b4 we got the all clear. The police were no where in sight all thru the siege.
Not quite long after I finished with the bus company, & on my way down the road, behold another group came from nowhere with weapons chanting anti Ladoja songs; didnt know when my legs did a Ben Johnson for a nearby church where I took shelter. Several minutes later, I Couldnt help but congratulate myself for the speed in my legs at my age- sure would have qualified me for an olympic medal in normal times.
Needless to say, the elections did not hold as gov elect had earlier boasted. Meanwhile the State police command had said they were not aware of any planned elections and wouldnt provide security.
Thank God I will be back to Abuja 2moro. Sure feel sorry for my Ibadan folks if this is what they would have to put up with in the coming years - a stomping of their rights.

PoliticsRe: Paris To Pay Immigrants To Return Back To Africa by feelgood(m): 6:34pm On May 24, 2007
Big B1, well said. Unfortunately, many of us cannot comprehend the wisdom and truth behind those words.
Let the folks come back home - to the land of the golden sun, where the banana leaves sway to the music of the wind. The white man has been patient and kind. A mother cannot prefer washing the bum of another's child while allowing flies to be trailing after the bum of her kid. A visitor who refuses to take note of the subtle signs telling him that it is night already, is asking to be thrown out unescorted.
Christianity EtcRe: I Want To Know About MFM by feelgood(m): 7:42am On May 23, 2007
Baby, good you kept the book aside - it would do you no good. Even if a prophet prophesies and it comes to pass, and he tells us to go after other gods (in this case, death of our enemies), we should not follow after such (deut 13: 1-4). Jesus remains our perfect example. See Luke 9: 51-56 also. Even if the enemies were spirit beings, you'd be wasting your time praying for their death - they simply wont. You can only bind them or cast them out of a person or situation.

Frosbel, you were wrongly mentioned in my post. My apologies pls - I actually was referring to Horus.
2. Caveman, we do not quarrel with our muslim brothers, they remain our African brothers. We only try to persuade them, albeit at times quite heatedly and passionately, to open their eyes and see the error of their ways and what islam is turning them to - from friendly and caring neighbors and brothers to butchers/bloodthirsty folks. Those of them who have not been caught by the kill kill bug apparently still retain a major part of their African values but the islamic bug sure eats away every virtue quite quickly - and that's why our passion.
3. We still love our African American brothers but then your view of christian history as encapsulated by this thread exposes your innate bitterness against White folks and trying to put the blame on Xtianity. Wrong approach friend.
Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians Should Drop Christianity, The White Man's Religion by feelgood(m): 2:54pm On May 21, 2007
He came as a jew but only a few recognised and accepted Him. A great number of black and White folks have placed their trust in Him and are finding the relationship very rewarding. You invite Him to be your friend- yes He hears because He is alive - and you'll an experience so very enriching. Hate will give way to love; bitterness to peace; suspicion to trust; enemity to friendliness and many more. That's my experience.
Xtianity, whiteman's religion? No sir. Still dont agree? Ok, your choice ol chap; free world. I refuse to let go - but understand, your living in America is a confirmation of the beauty of Xtianity. GOD bless you
Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians Should Drop Christianity, The White Man's Religion by feelgood(m): 2:26pm On May 21, 2007
But doesnt Xtianity make us think like the White man as frosbel will have us believe? Not at all. I doubt if he has read the bible. The American founding fathers believed in it and lived it - and it helped them in building un doubtedly the freedom capital of the world - where a great many people (including muslims) run into and discover the liberating joys of true freedom. Dont know if same can be said of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan- notable Islamic states.
How can one discover this real and true emancipation? Easy ol chap. Just look away from the Whiteman. He is is just another human like you, weaknesses and all. Look to the one who came to liberate the world, including you. His name is JESUS.
Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians Should Drop Christianity, The White Man's Religion by feelgood(m): 1:25pm On May 21, 2007
Rather Xtianity has been the force behind black - and indeed, I dare say, human - emancipation and freedom. Christian whites, yes, whites , were the major protagonists for the abolition of slave trade then being practised by their church attending people. The freedom marches of rev King did much more to liberate our black (and colored ) brethren in America than the rhetorics and postures of Elijah Mohammed and the nation of islam. Mahatma Ghandhi's actions against the twin evils of apartheid in South Africa and colonialism in India were greatly influenced by xtian attributes and tenets. He said so himself. And it is the same story all over. The practice of Xtianity brings freedom and real emancipation to a people, however oppressed. Not sure if I can say the same of islam, which you no doubt forgot to mention is not an African religion- no offence meant to my muslim brothers in the house. In all this time of our travails, islam was very much in existence. Perhaps I will shock you to mention that slavery is still very much being practised in Africa and a very lucrative trade at that- under the managerial and enterprising direction of our Arabian friends. (to be contd)
Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians Should Drop Christianity, The White Man's Religion by feelgood(m): 12:40pm On May 21, 2007
Caveman, generations come and generations go. In my earlier years, when black power and socialism was the rave, we also felt that Xtianity was one of the weapons the Whiteman used in plundering and enslaving Africa. We supported the 'an eye for an eye' posture of mr Little (Malcolm X) to the 'foolishness' of rev King. Fela Kuti made more sense to us, not so much for his music but for his strident posture against colonialism and support for everything African. To this end, a group of my friends came together and formed the (aka the ) with the principal aim of producing the black bible as a basis for a truly African religion that will unite blacks. The present notoriety of the in Nigerian campuses is a testimony of the 'lofty' project. Is Xtianity to blame for the black predicament? I say NO. (to be continued)

It's all about money ol chap. The deputy gov will be entitled to pension for life, 2 official cars + drivers changeable every 2years, a choice plot of land anywhere in Lagos, among other perks as former deputy gov. This was the major reason Pedro was impeached - he wont get to enjoy those perks after leaving office since he was impeached. And that is why pedro is back to the courts. Politics Nigeriana in action
