The cash swap ( abi cash confiscation policy) of the current government is a direct affront on money laundering legislation in the books that clearly specifies maximum funds that can be transacted with outside the banking system

Yet a President by oral proclaimation was able to override the statute books, and all sorts of lawyers from ordinary to SANs were speaking in support of a President turning himself into the law.

That only happens where strong men and not strong institutions are valued and worshipped.

The INEC Chairman is simply following a long established pattern of disregard for the law including that which established his office and the institution he heads.

I work with these people, so I speak as an observer and someone who interacts very closely with the system.

Unlike in the US where Biden halted his student loan forgiveness program the moment the Supreme Court told him to.

Here we will break the law and ask you to go to court to seek redress, the same law that we treated with outright disdain and disregard when it does not suit our whims and caprices.
As I said before. The President was wrong! His Attorney General of the Federation acted as a SAN that does not deserve the title. The CBN Governor was intoxicated with power and went beyond his limits

The President used executive power and privilege to infringe on property rights and acted against the best interests of the country and its citizens.

The right to own cash is constitutional, the right to withdraw cash up to the limits specified by legislation is also constitutional. Constitutional rights are rights that cannot be tampered with!

Imposing arbitrary withdrawal limits not backed by legislation is unreasonable and illegal.

This is a summary of what happened at the Supreme Court today.

*Supreme Court has jurisdiction on Naira swap case*
- Justice Agim

*The directive given by the President, through a press release by the CBN is invalid*
- Justice Agim

*I hold that no reasonable notice was given by the CBN under section 20 of the CBN Act. The directive is invalid and I hereby declare it so.*

- Justice Agim

*The position of the president as Agent of the federation imposed a duty of consultation on him. Not to do so makes him a dictator.*
-Justice Agim

*In other countries, decisions to change currencies follow due process and in accordance with democratic dictates, not after a side talk with their central bank chiefs .*
-Justice Agim

*I am not aware of any law which empowers a bank to withhold a customer’s money and refuse to give him/her. The directive on withdrawal limit is an infringement of people’s rights.*
- Justice Agim

*States have a right to be consulted by President before the directive to the CBN, as constituents of the Federation*
- Justice Agim

*Our rule of law becomes illusory if a President refuses to obey the court*

- Justice Agim

Sadly, till tomorrow, we prefer strong men to strong institutions.

google furse lighting protection guide and dehn lightning protection guide

both have detailed lightning protection manuals with sections on PV installations
this is why I now post links in pictures.

sorry about that.

I know dehn, I actually posted their over 1 hour long YouTube video here, which I have watched.

I got that fact from there, I just wanted to make the point since not everyone might have made the time to watch the video. thanks for the reference to the furse lightening protection guide

It would seem that lightening protection systems are differently engineered if the panels stay on the roof versus if the panels are on a stand directly connected to the ground.

Just wanted to highlight this point.

How to build a kitchen (and why)

This article gives you a choice to spend up to 1/3 the cost of a modern kitchen if you are the DIY type and if you are not, then get a contractor to take the stress off you in exchange for the money.

Written by someone who claims he has built 17 kitchens.

In the US, you can get quotes of between $25,000.00 and $75,000.00 for this kind of kitchen.

In Nigeria, you can quote between N5,000,000.00 and N25,000.000.00

Over to you

Please, can you please expatiate on this? or can I send you an email. I'd like to run something like this but not sure how to go about it.
The Nigerian process may involve sending someone along with the tool, but it does not make sense to me.

Validate the artisan with impossible-to-change government-issued identifiers and you should be good.

Run a social media KYC process too.

Study the home depot process the modify it to suit Nigeria

Just thinking aloud

LoL...thinking of investing on tools but possibility of theft is very high...
There is another issue. I spent heavily on tools.

One of my tools got bad. It was dropped by the artisan I hired.

He dropped my nail gun.

Which I had earlier reviewed here.

The tool is so rare that I have to go online to get another.

So you need to 1. take pictures and even 2. videos of the tool working before the handover. Rinse and repeat when the tool is returned.

This is where I failed and got burnt.

How do you identify the artisan? I recommend a government-issued valid ID card, but you need to verify the information before you hand it over.

You will also need a caution fee.

This is a very common practice in the US.

They hire tools for sums way below the cost of purchasing them. however no one is going to play a fast one on the companies who hire out the tools in the US unlike what might happen here.

I spent a fortune repairing the tool, but the housing was so destroyed and since it is a power tool, I need to buy another one for parts and then replace the housing because it just won't work properly with the housing glued together.

By adjusting the tilt of the panels, instead of getting the optimal yield between 12 and 1 pm, I got the optimal yield as early as 10.30 AM.

I have now turned off utility charging.

I am now limiting myself to PV charging, after all my batteries already say they are full (smiles).

I need more data though. I know I need a watt meter to measure consumption.

What do I use to measure PV output since my econobox MPPT does not log cumulative yield? How much does it cost? Is it available locally?

Theoretically all 'inverter' items are soft/ electronic start and have a much lower starting current than the conventional older models. They also do not have the periodic ramping / kick during operation.

Pardon my ignorance oh.

Will a Phocos 5.5kw with 4 (200ah) batteries conveniently power a 1.5hp inverter AC, an inverter fridge and 2 TV's?

If yes, will i need solar panels too?

What will this set up cost me (excluding panels) and can you assist with the project?
The scientific way to answer this question is that we need to find out the startup load specific to your 1.5hp inverter AC and inverter fridge.

The best way to do that is using a device that measures that startup load.

Or alternatively, share it here for others to help you decode, or you yourself studying and decoding the product datasheets.

NiyiOmoIyunade:
Most definitely yes.

Consider that lightning is poweful enough to cross from cloud to object on earth passing through thin air (the air becomes an electrical conductor at such energy levels). Ditto the induced surge in your home wiring can easily arc/jump across the tiny air gap when your breaker contacts are open.

Safe electrical isolators give sufficient space clearance and also sometimes use an insulation barrier to ensure the contacts are truly open. An average home use breaker is not a safe electrical isolator.
I consulted you before setting up my PV system.

Thanks for your advice.

Please can you give me the names of one or two safe electrical isolators that I deploy between the PV and the CC?

From the video, I posted earlier today, investing in a proper lightning protection system is a very expensive venture.

So let me start with the one that isn't as expensive.

Thanks.

Sorry for your loss. Couldn't agree more! This country is suffering from a dearth of knowledgeable tradesmen or professionals. it seems no sector is spared: building, plumbers, tilers, electricians, engineers. This problem makes it more appealing for people that are DIY inclined to do a lot of the thinking and gathering of information. In an ideal situation, it shouldn't be. The installer as a solar engineer should have advised of possible scenario (as a Nigerian that understands his environment) and provided solutions. If he tells you, Oga, you need to put SPD here and you say not yet then if something goes wrong, you know you were informed.

With the relative high cost of solar installation, such avoidable mishaps can be saddening. Thanks for sharing this experience so that some of us on the journey to solar energy freedom will be encouraged to strengthen our resolve for adequate material/human safety.
I invited someone to help me with the install.

I know what to do, but nothing beats hands-on experience.

But there were clearly gaps in his knowledge.

I asked about earthing panels, he said it was unnecessary,

I insisted on installing protective devices so that I could isolate the battery and the PVs, he said it was unnecessary.

This video is proof that you need to install earthing and lightening protection systems for your PV.

Or watch your money go down the drain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAQy-IKNuG4.

Sadly, this means I have to commit more time to understand what I need to buy, and who I need to buy from to protect my investment so far

Running successful scams is both a science and an art.

Totally understand human nature and then exploit it.

Hi good evening everyone...please can someone help me track a number down? He bought some goods and showed the sales attendant fake alert, she made a mistake to send him to the supervisor to confirm the transaction without following him there...now he has disappeared without paying for the goods worth 100k... We have his phone number but when we called, the person said he wasn't the one but his neighbour, that he will find his number and send... Is it possible to track him?
Do you have CCTV in your premises?

If no, then start thinking of installing one. If you do, please install the type that can record to the cloud, so that even if the unit were stolen you can still access your recordings.

For some people scamming is a profession.

Are you sure, that number is genuine? That he did not just scribble any number. This is why most vendors will actually attempt to call your number to prove that it is actually yours.

Several years ago, I was a victim of something similar.

The guy claimed he was sent by one of the neighbors in the plaza I used as an office.

It was only after I had attended to him and he left and waited endlessly for payment that I went to the neighbor and was informed by the neighbor that he doesn't know the guy.

That's how I lost that money.

Close to where I live, some of the walls of a house caved in and landed on the bed of the occupant.

The only thing is, the occupant had died the week before.

Assuming that he had not died, I am pretty sure the walls caving in pancake style like is shown in your video would have killed him.

By the way, not all the walls, but the exterior walls of his room in the house.

One thing that was consistently highlighted in that video is that cutting corners in building construction does not make long-term economic sense.

One does not need to face earthquakes to do things right.

I actually feel now that all those guys that insist on pillars and chaining lintels are unto something, despite all the arguments on this forum that it is unnecessary.

The other issue is why on earth do you make the weight carrying bottom floor soft? It doesn't make sense to me.

I also feel that as soon as Abuja estate buildings turn 25 years old, we should get ready to be hearing of building collapses due to 1. the initial poor workmanship and 2. all the damp that the walls have ingested

You are doing well, seen countless examples of these being done overseas.

Is that bitumen?

This issue led me to research all the companies that sell the special chemicals that are used to protect exterior walls. Was surprised to learn that we have them in Nigeria.

All these measures are applied in major construction contracts.

It is homeowners practicing kobo kobo that don't, then later cry about dampness.

I look forward to hearing from you

part 2 of 2 - Capillary action and drainage

PropertiesRe: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by FEGEITOK: 11:07am On Feb 13, 2023
Coiner, to solve this issue, we have to consider both capillary action and drainage.

I have attached the science behind it

if the soil around the house ( the duplex, in this case, holds water), then you can bet, that water is going to end up in the walls, and you will see all those aftereffects)

So the goal is to ensure that the ground around the house does not hold water. The same goes for the ground under the house.
