MrOkenwa:
Yes I filed for a dispute and possible cashback through my bank because the transaction was not initiated by me.
Visa said that the transaction was successfully carried out using the correct information on the card, no hacking was involved. Hence, undisputed.
The card was used to purchase gift cards which were redeemed same day.

Amen sir. Thank you
You can still get your money.

But this has to be through law enforcement.

I know the FBI doesn't joke with this kind of crime.

Even the Nigerian law enforcement has the capacity to unmask the guys.

But it is totally up to you to provide the details of the complaint for action to be taken.

If you are willing to share details privately with me, it would be possible to do this.

But I respect your right to move on.

Here's what the FBI said following sentencing in a similar case last April.

“If these defendants thought their million-dollar fraud would go unnoticed simply because they targeted a trillion-dollar company, they were sorely mistaken,” said U.S. Attorney Chad Meacham. “The Justice Department will not tolerate fraud against any company, be it a multinational corporation or a mom-and-pop operation. We are grateful to our FBI partners for their work on this case.”

Under US law, its called wire fraud.

Barely 30 minutes ago I decommissioned the ECLB and commissioned the RCCB into service.

Took me this long because I wanted to be absolutely sure what I was buying.

I didn't delegate this task.

My electronics are too expensive to play with.

I will detail the process subsequently.

Suffice it to say, be absolutely sure what you want to buy before you go shopping so the market doesn't sway you.

Thank you NiyiOmolyunade and GloriousGbola

So it appears that people have a new scam where they claim a transaction was declined and get their money back. I know a petrol station dealer who was complaining bitterly about this. So now this is the outcome. It will be much harder for honest people in sorting out failed transactions.

Nigerians have done it again
Wow.

Thanks for the enlightenment

An estate just installed a 0.5 hp submersible water pump to power the estate water supply.

Isn't it too small?

I'm using 1hp for just one household

Good day sir.
Visa said it was an undisputed payment. So, my request for cashback was declined.
I have moved on.
Thank you for checking on me sir.
But you disputed?

What's their definition of undisputed?

A 63a RCCB is fine but it needs to be wired correctly especially the PE (protective earth) connection.

63a is approximately 13kw per phase and 40kw across 3 phases - I doubt if an household is reaching or maxing these limits anytime.

If you go 100a you are only reducing your protection levels because you are now permitting the possibility of larger fault currents passing through.

If you get your house m wiring correctly done then a 63a 30mA RCCB is much preferred over an 100a 300mA for protecting the incoming supply of a residence.
Eternally grateful.

You made easy work of what I've been pondering over since last night

Actually residual current.

Schneider electric or legrand

I would say Abbn, but too much fake abb in the market.

I believe the same. 63a is fine unless you have plans for increasing your max electrical load
Corrected.

Thanks.

I appreciate

My ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) died last night.

From my research ELCBs have been replaced by RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breakers).

Please kindly recommend an RCCB for me - brands and pricing.

The current ELCB which is bad is 63A.

Should I get a 63A RCCB or should I go up to 100A?

Imho, just buy a ups. If it is a genuine late model LG TV, they are rugged. I have had a 73 inch for three years now. The ups battery is misbehaving but it is still going strong

This here. As a naija matter.
Mine is connected directly to my inverter and after the warning I couldn't get myself to connect it to any other voltage regulator

Ceelog and GloriousGbola have updated the post. See below:

Do You Need a Voltage Stabilizer for TVs?
No, you don’t need a voltage stabilizer for your flat-screen smart TV as they incorporate SMPS (switched mode power supply) and have an operating voltage range wide enough to accommodate almost all types of voltage fluctuations.

But can you have one just in case? Yes, you can. Even if it’s unnecessary, it will not harm your TV.

Modern LED-LCD and OLED TVs come with SMPS. The electronic power supply comes with native voltage regulation and current-limiting capabilities.

Besides televisions, SMPS are found in DC motor drives, power amplifiers, PCs, and every other electrical device that needs a highly efficient power supply.

SMPS is a vast topic. To learn more about SMPS, watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK5WLMFSGnw

a UPS ensures an “uninterrupted power supply.” It doesn’t regulate voltage per se.

If your area is prone to power outages, a UPS will help. But if your region experiences frequent voltage fluctuations, you’ll need an AVR.

Credits: pointers licker dot com

My further research which I have not posted is to the effect that you need surge protectors more than you need automatic voltage regulators for your smart TV.

So get yourself a high quality surge protector instead.

Better still, install a surge protector capable of protecting your entire home instead of one surge protector per device. This is the ultimate solution

@ and @ to anyother with valuable information....

Please which product (s) are the best and durable surge protector for a TV (83inch smart) and two 1hp ACs all on one big roo.? Please help with pictures and links if possible.
Thanks
My own TV manual warned me not to use any voltage regulator.

Please be very sure of what you are buying in the name of surge protector or for the purpose of voltage regulation to avoid stories that touch.

Finally ensure that you are buying a premium product and not a knockoff

Not really. It depends on the the desired pressure and the small p which is the intrinsic pressure from the tank’s content.
I have revised my position.

But he is saying certain heights and by extension certain pressure is not worth the cost.

if the tanks are connected in series then no it wouldn't. But talking about each tank supplying separate part of the building at lower head room yes there will be loss in pressure. This phenomena is similar to the fanta drinking straw grin. When the mouth is empty there's sufficient suction to draw up fluid but as the fluid fills the mouth theres less suction.
pressure increases with height and surface area.
Thanks for the illustrations

You MAY still have the same issue irrespective of the number of tanks.

The game changer is at the position of your water heater as this is the highest point (outlet) of use in homes.

From the water heater point (level), the base of your tank must be minimum 5 meters higher to have good constant water pressure.

Again, the game changer is how high is the base of your tank from your water heater. If this is not high enough, you are significantly at risk to suffer periodic pressure issues.
I just read it up.

The key factor is elevation, not distance.

Thanks

stop arguing the obvious, rotecch77 is very correct. My dad's home due to him being on budget he installed the tank overhead the kitchen and the bathroom shower can't even run properly, the kitchen tap is even the slowest and now we are planning to get the steel tank sooner. A water tank has to be sufficiently higher than the last floor level to gather sufficient pressure for Optimum h20 supply.
I have experienced this before.

Question though what if someone has several thanks at that level, say 2 or 3 all connected to the same flat?

Would it still have pressure issues?

So this is the update, guys
Special thanks to Jefferyzz for teaching me how to do everything narrated below.

I optimized the orientation of the panels today using the compass on my phone, and I got the highest voltage (22.9) from the South and 5.46amps.

Unfortunately, all these only came from the first panel I tested. The second one only returned about 2.9v, with barely any amps displaying on the meter. I called the installer immediately, but he was angry that I’m dismantling the setup, saying if I spoil something I no know, he wouldn’t be held responsible.

How do expect me to wait for you to return to wherever you traveled to for work?

Anyways, I checked online and found something about the diodes being bad. I opened the box at the back of the panel and tested each of the three diodes. Turns out one of them is the culprit, as it wasn’t reading anything on the meter. I’ll find a replacement for it. The diodes are soldered though.

What do you suggest I do from here? Should I test-charge the battery with just one panel while I find a way to fix the other one? I don’t mind buying another one if this one is completely damaged.
Just want to say congratulations.

That is how I started, and when I kept getting into dead ends, I ended up paying for a proper electronics course online and that is how I was finally able to hold my own as far as fiddling with my electronics was concerned.

If you want to change diodes, you will need a soldering iron, you will need to order the exact diodes or the equivalents and then you will need to know how to solder or desolder.

It depends on you and how far you want to go.

I have yet to study PV electronics, but someone said you should consult YouTube on the way to do the above as well.

Alternatively, let someone else do it for you.

But if you have gone this far, I doubt that soldering and desoldering is beyond you.

Take pictures of the offending diodes. That will help us help you find it or its equivalents or betters.

I have done this at other forums with great results

Like they did to me when I want to buy foreign wood.

I bought the wood and then cut it to the sizes I needed.

Then and only then was I told that if I had bought the actual sizes I wanted, I would have spent less.

That information came to my notice after I had bought the wood, paid for it to be caught to size, and paid for it to be transported.

It did not help that I came with a wood consultant, he never even suggested that to me. It was a seller that I did not end up buying from that told me this.

Maybe I also have some element of fault in that I could have told the sellers what I intended to do, maybe that information would have come out earlier.

Someone else detailed his experience at that place a while back https://www.instagram.com/p/CgmqRGRDRYy/

Seconding this.

Someone told me just this past weekend that a lot of people who can't afford the time it takes and how it messes up their property go with polystyrene not POP.

That his boss who is a POP expert used polystyrene for his property.

But he then screeded it.

That if you were not told you would assume it was POP

Are you planing to set your kitchen on fire and put it on polystyrene ... Paper burns more than polystyrene, polystyrene does not spread fire, if the source of the fire is removed, polystyrene will stop melting...

Don't be stuck in a cynical ideology that polystyrene is flammable, polystyrene is durable and most electrical wiring are now inside a pipe, so what's is the risks.

We must considered climate change and the effects of excessive mining of limestone on our environment, Co2 emission increasing as we demand more cement, This earth is our only home, we have to be deliberate with our construction choices... Choose eco friendly renewable polystyrene for your ceiling installation and wall Partitioning.
