MackyNaija:
Short story...

Over the last two weeks, I was tasked with creating a dashboard on Jira for tracking quality issues - never done this before ..

But from experiences creating charts in Excel, I was able to crack this and create two beautiful tables and a sweet pie chart. smiley

New problem - the data I was working with had excluded 'canceled issues' but was still showing 'closed issues'...
We needed to only see 'Open', 'In progress' and Under 'Verify' issues...

Due to my little programming knowledge, I was able to look at the filter to see "status != Cancelled" and tried excluding 'closed issues' with...

"status != Cancelled and Closed", didn't work, got an error message... sad

Then I tried
"status != Cancelled AND status != Closed"
It worked! cheesy
Na so I jejely leave am, wash my hand comot. cheesy

I got perfectly working Dashboards that were presented to the Quality Mgr, Engineering Mgr and Director of Engineering!

Morale of the story?
Everybody including non-science students and awon instagram, abeg learn basic programming. It can help your life! cool
Why do you share so much? Asking in good faith.

The majority of Nigerians seem to be programmed by default hide information.

You are absolutely right.

Everyone needs a bit of programming to get ahead in today's world.

I just asked someone to learn Jira not quite a week ago. Told her it's an important skill these days.

List some of the economic importance of those courses like I listed for Industrial Engineering a while back and we'll discuss them.

Are they STEM courses?
Can they fetch you funding for studies?
Can you earn enough from jobs in those fields to pay back student loans?
What's the demand for the fields listed above?
Can you compete with US Citizens in those fields for jobs?
How much can you earn as base salary?
Can you self petition for residency?
Can you do ground breaking research in those fields?
If you graduate and leave for Nigeria with your degree, would it fetch you anything?

You need unique skills that would make you desirable on this journey. Science and Technology is the real deal.
Perfect response.

You made my job easier.

I'm sure others following the thread will also benefit.

Thanks

What's your advice to those Nigerians who want to Japa but studied sociology/political science or intent to study sociology/political science?

I know those courses are no good for the first world, but I'd appreciate if you can explain why they are no good from a first world point of view.

I need to show someone who is about to make that deadly mistake as I see it.

Thanks

Nothing to consult any Lawyer for. Yes, letting out all those information comes with a very high risk because scammers can go to any length as their prying eyes are already on this thread. He just asked the question to be sure if the money is not coming through any illegal means.

As it is customary and required by the bank, if and when it enters, they may flag the account especially since you have not been making transactions of that magnitude. Like others have said above, if it is genuine, there is nothing to shiver about. All you will do is to just go there and explain the source. Bank wire transfer is the right way of making any genuine payment. Even the government is canversing for remittance through banks.
If the remittance is clean nothing to worry about.

The EFCC has another name, but most of the EFCC investigators are policemen. They carried over the problem of the police there. According to the law, everyone is entitled to legal representation, my angle is if you suspect trouble, then arm yourself ahead of it, than wait for it to come and start fighting it then.

He who prepares in advance ensures a better outcome.

Here is what will happen, the bank will file a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) as required by law.

STR reporting is governed by Money Laundering Laws. Who knows better about those laws than lawyers and the bankers who deal with them day in day out?

Hope you know just how easy it is to collect personally identifiable information including banking, telecoms and address information about anyone in Nigeria.

If you know, you will keep a low profile given the information you have already disclosed.

Peace out.

Too much information to share on a public thread. I'd advise you don't make these details a matter of public record. This is a good occasion to consult a lawyer.

Is it OK to use the following formula for external/outer wall plaster mix?

1 part cement: 2 part fine sand: 2 part stone dust

This is a variation of the 1 part cement: 3 part fine sand formula

Key consideration is longevity of the plaster due to exposure to the elements.

For internal walls considering

1 part cement: 3 part fine sand: 3 part stone dust

Please kindly advise.

Good or bad deal?

Got N10m? Can lend for 10 years?

MTN will pays you 12.50%

You get interest payments only for 7 years, then interest & principal for next 3years.

Pro? If rates fall you earn 12% for 10 years

Con? If inflation rises or stays above 13%, you lose.

Speak with your banker

PoliticsRe: Abba Kyari Committed No Crime On US Soil, Shouldn’t Be Extradited – Panel by FEGEITOK: 12:21am On Sep 20, 2021
mapet:
You're giving unrelated examples. Was Obiwane Okeke extradited?
I gave examples that were not exact matches.

My point was and is that America can go after you whether you are on their soil (Okeke) or not on their soil(Hushpuppi).

Grapevine has it that the police officer in question has refused to go for overseas training ever since his partner in crime was nabbed. There is no way to independently verify this.

In both cases I cited the common denominator was financial crimes against the US and being Nigerian.

I now present you a match in several respects: Adedeji Adeniran.

1. Financial crimes against the US,
2. a Nigerian,
3. who happened to be in Nigeria and
4. was extradited.

We should apply the rules the same way irrespective of who is involved.

You will say he committed the crimes in the US not Nigeria. Agreed, whereas super cop was in Nigeria when the crime was committed.

My response is US law does not care where the crime is committed, it only cares if a crime has been committed from the point of view of US law. Our super cop matches that narrative.

That is why the US went after Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi for crimes committed against the US outside the US.

I know his partners in crime don't want to be named, so other considerations are coming up. Had he not held that office I am sure sending him there would have been easier for the government.

Did Obinwanne Okeke commit crime on US soil?
Did Hushpuppi commit crime on US soil?

If the crime involves the dollar or involves moving funds through the US financial system, it does not matter where the alleged criminal resides, US law enforcement will come for him.

Unlike here, they don't mind playing the long game.

The last has not been heard of this matter.

The President's position will not close the subject.

A policeman was arrested for using a stolen phone several years later. He claimed he bought the phone but no proof. He eventually admitted he was in possession of a stolen phone. Be begged to be given a chance to compensate the owner monetarily.

The only thing saving him from trouble is that he is a policeman and his colleagues have issues prosecuting one of their own.

Nothing stops the owner instituting a civil case/fundamental rights against the policeman and making claims based on infringement of property rights.

Don't take avoidable risks

The courts will not shield the policeman

Anyone that uses that phone becomes an involuntary subject of pattern of life analysis by investigators. In return for a phone that is not worth 100,000.00 Naira he/she hands over a ton of information about himself/herself that would otherwise remain unknown for a phone of dubious heritage with the ever present danger of being connected to crime and subjected to the rigors of an adversarial legal system and with little to no chance of wriggling out.

If you must make money from that phone, sell it with a strict instruction "For Parts Only!".

A word is enough for the wise.

You cannot love someone and gift them trouble!
