When Awolowo was sentenced to prison, a lot of Progressives were shocked, some died instantly and some became sickly! Some people(Bishops and Statesmen) went to beg the Central Government of Zik and Balewa. The Government agreed to free Awolowo but, knowing fully well that Awolowo would not agree, they said his wife HID must come to beg the government and after that, Awolowo would be freed. The aim was to put Awolowo's wife pictures begging the government on front pages of major newspapers. The 'Eminent' men went to meet HID and persuaded her to beg the government. HID thanked them all but said she could only do that if her husband permitted her, if not, she would not. Recall in 1986, similar offer was made to GMB's former wife but she fell for it, Buhari later divorced her. The eminent men went to meet Awolowo in prison and begged him to allow his wife beg the government, they cited many verses from the Bible(Read My March through Prisons or Travails of Democracy and the Rule of Law by Chief Obafemi Awolowo). Awolowo, in reply, thanked them very well but declined. He said "my wife beg who exactly? Will she kneel down or prostrate? Beg for what offence exactly? That I plotted a Coup? That's ridiculous! You're men of God, you should know that God does not not encourage people to bow to injustice....".... *Awolowo allegedly said and I quote " I believe I should not be in prison but here I am, the only Premier that ended up in prison for no reason.* *_If we are confused about my innocence, let God be the Judge.* *_If truly I did what they accused me of, I will not come out of this prison alive but if I am innocent, I will not spend my life here in prison, I will come out and as the Lord lives, I won't meet any of those who conspired against me alive......._* Thank you gentlemen for your visit, I wish you journey mercies.... " By the time Awolowo was released from prison few years later by Yakubu Gowon, all those that conspired to imprison him, Ahmadu Bello, Tafawa Balewa, Akintola and the rest had been killed in a coup. You live on the earth, you eat rat, you live on the earth you eat fish, you live on the earth you do evil, the judgement is in the earth.... Earth the killer! The rest is history. "The age of 18 years for SIM acquisition proposed in the draft regulation is contingent on the constitutional provision, which makes 18 years the age of consent in Nigeria. Also, SIM acquisition is a contract between service providers and their subscribers, which requires the subscriber to have proper legal status, be of matured mind and rational enough to bear certain responsibilities, obligations and liabilities imposed by a contract." They were saying 12 you are saying half dozen. Whether i am the one not understanding the two of you self i don't know. |
Period! They will never listen as if the money in my pocket is their right. The moment you whoo a girl that moment you will see loads of problem piling up for you, me i just face my front. |
They understood that to mean Jesus was claiming to be GOD and i don't think there was another better reason why they killed him. |

We own a company with you and you will now declare as your own or our own? For what exactly? My kids have a greater part of the company shares and it will not make sense to declare it as mine. My kid of 6 and wife hold 60% of company shares and with that i am not the title owner. Obi is free to go! |
May God have mercy on us. Virus wey get different variant! |
Did 6 years in Lagos and it was almost as if i was going mad, you could easily tell i was getting sick everyday. Happily moved and went back to PH and i told them with even a higher package i don't want to work in Lagos again. At Lagos i thought i have seen it all but when i got to PH i discovered i am still a learner. Never been to Abuja before and not praying to go. |
Good one and wishing them God's divine wisdom. Kudos to the big boys! |
I trust this permutation to an extent. |
Which referendum again biko. This people should be given independence biko. Take your five states or Nigeria is not ready to negotiate with you. The five states or nothing, if you like turn the east to desert, no part of any other state will be added to the east not even their waste. If you guys are very serious then move with the five states. A word is enough for the wise!

Wow! 55trillion in debt! At last, Nigeria is now so great. Thanks for the many infrastructures all in place by this regime. Thank God we voted PMB two times. Great country indeed! Now i see the reason why God vested this country with so much natural resources. No opposing o, any loan request he brings should be immediately approved at least before he leaves office let us hit the 100 trillion milestone. CHANGE INDEED! |
poiZon:Let me tell you the simple truth, i was among the people against GEJ. At Lagos then i was so loud with and added my voice to how much GEJ will loose. I did not and never expected that it will be this worst, i mean, who could imagine that we will be buying gas for almost 8k, in just less down 8 years? |
THEY DISPLAYED MY MOCK COFFIN PUBLICLY~ Jonathan. Photographs Of My Mock Coffin Traumatised My Mother Who Lost Eight Children, Says GEJ Former President Goodluck Jonathan says pictures of his mock coffin displayed in the media during the anti-fuel subsidy removal protests of 2012 traumatised his aged mother who had lost eight children. Jonathan said this in his recently published book titled, My Transition Hours. The former President said, “The protests continued unabated. In all of these, one woman I pitied most was my aged mother who was with me in the State House. “Every day, she watched on television protesters carrying a casket with my picture on it and having the inscription ‘Rest In Peace.’ “I could imagine her trauma. This is a woman who had 10 live births with only my elder sister and I surviving.” Jonathan said during the protests, several notable Nigerians visited him, asking him to reverse the increment in the pump price of petrol. Some of the prominent Nigerians who visited him include: General-Overseer, Living Faith Mission (Winners Chapel) Bishop David Oyedepo; Primate of the Anglican Church, Rt.Rev Nichola Okoh and eight other clerics. He said what was more disheartening was the fact that the opposition in Lagos had hijacked the protests. Jonathan added that even the Nigeria Labour Congress which had been briefed on the matter before the subsidy removal was announced was co-opted into joining the protests. The former President added, “In Lagos State for instance, it was like a carnival. Musicians, comedians and other celebrities were engaged by opposition elements to join the protests. Refreshments were served to protesters. “Every morning Lagos State government workers cleaned up the Gani Fawehinmi Park and prepared it for the day’s protests. It appeared as though the protesters were very special guests of the Lagos State Government. Similar scenarios played out in other opposition controlled states.” Jonathan further stated that the House of Representatives, which was led by pro-opposition Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, decided to exploit the situation. He said the House accused him of fleeing the country in a bid to exploit the situation for political gain. The former President added, “The House of Representatives whose Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, was hobnobbing with the opposition (he eventually defected to the opposition) did not help matters. “Thinking that I had left the country for South Africa to attend the centenary celebration of the African National Congress, Speaker Tambuwal convened the House to sit on a Sunday just to condemn the deregulation. “That was the first and only time in Nigeria’s political history that the parliament sat on a Sunday. At that sitting, an opposition member of the House got up to allege that I had abandoned the nation at such a crucial time to join festivities in South Africa. “Unknown to the House, on that same day while they were sitting, I was at Eagle Square to inaugurate mass transit vehicles my administration purchased to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.” #NB Same People who Occupied Nigeria then suddenly became dumb without Brains anymore. COPIED!

Just too late, too late for the apologies. The narrative has changed. |
alphaconde:I swear down!! |
With all due respect sir, thunder fire you there. Is your president a nigerian president or a tribal president. Somebody who has the stupidity enough to refer to one region as a dot in the map. Thunder fire you! |
Nice move. Omo the wey Nigerians go take wire that line ehn! Na Nairaland dey take all the emergency pressure since o. Nairaland try! |
Leave them, they won't bite more than they can chew their best bet is to rally around a candidate from the south who will continue to do their bidding. They are seriously clamouring for Osinbajo like we don't know what we want. Their greatest fear is restructuring. The North should know that to every action there is a reaction. Won't say much. |
Good one there! |
