According to Opta, prior to yesterday's match, Iwobi had created THREE chances and was only surpassed by Osimhen and Lookman who are forwards. Iwobi is the most creative Midfielder in that team, and Opta (your main source), supports my stand.

Let's not forget that Iwobi has been played out of position throughout this tournament. Iwobi is a CAM, but has been playing a deeper role since this tournament started, still that hasn't stopped him from creating chances.


He functions best when he plays closer to the box, especially the D area. Just look at that sweet pass he gave to Bassey who ended up assisting Lookman for our second goal yesterday. That's what he can do. That's his best position.


Remove Iwobi from that team and watch Osimhen get frustrated due to a lack of service.

Bassey and Aina physically dominated Ivory Coast. In the midfield Onyeka and Alhassan can match anyone, or at least draw a foul when necessary. Osimhen up top, much does not need to be said. A weak defense of Cameroon should be an opportunity for oshimen to contend for the golden boot but he really needs help whether psychological or spiritual. Simon and chukweze are ball wasters in this afcon so far and should not start against Cameroon.

Cameroon is the only shouting treat to SE on the way to the final and we must find a way to victory against them.

I can't emphasize it enough how much we need a natural creative midfielders. As it stands we can all agree the SE has no midfielders who can create play. For me it doesn't have to be a Nwakali but we are in desperate need of a midfielder who doesn't panic when defenders opponents press him, doesn't constantly miss passes, doesn't play back pass because he has no vision like Iwobi and his English brother, Aribo.
