Mr/Mrs. Avid reader! Kindly show us where in the said Constitution!

Section 137(1) states that the President or Vice President can be removed from office by the National Assembly if he or she is found to have violated the provisions of the Constitution or misconducted himself or herself in the performance of his or her duties.

Section 137(2) states that a notice of allegation in writing of the misconduct or violation must be signed by not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly and presented to the President of the Senate, who shall within seven days of the receipt of the notice, cause a copy to be served on the President or Vice President, as the case may be.

Section 137(3) provides that within 14 days of the receipt of the notice, the President or Vice President shall respond in writing to the allegations, and if he or she fails to do so, he or she shall be deemed to have admitted to the allegations.

Section 137(4) provides that if the National Assembly, by a resolution of not less than two-thirds majority of all its members, determines that the President or Vice President has committed the alleged misconduct or violation, he or she shall be removed from office.

137. (1) A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if -

(a) subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, he has made a declaration of allegiance to such other country; or

(b) he has been elected to such office at any two previous elections; or

(c) under the law in any part of Nigeria, he is adjudged to be a lunatic or otherwise declared to be of unsound mind;

or

(d) he is under a sentence of death imposed by any competent court of law or tribunal in Nigeria or a sentence of imprisonment or fine for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud (by whatever name called) or for any other offence, imposed on him by any court or tribunal or substituted by a competent authority for any other sentence imposed on him by such a court or tribunal; or

(e) within a period of less than ten years before the date of the election to the office of President he has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or he has been found guilty of the contravention of the Code of Conduct; or

(f) he is an undischarged bankrupt, having been adjudged or otherwise declared bankrupt under any law in force in Nigeria or any other country; or

(g) being a person employed in the civil or public service of the Federation or of any State, he has not resigned, withdrawn or retired from the employment at least thirty days before the date of the election; or

(h) he is a member of any secret society; or

(i) he has been indicted for embezzlement or fraud by a Judicial Commission of Inquiry or an Administrative Panel of Inquiry or a Tribunal set up under the Tribunals of Inquiry Act, a Tribunals of Inquiry Law or any other law by the Federal or State Government which indictment has been accepted by the Federal or State Government, respectively; or

(j) he has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

(2) Where in respect of any person who has been -

(a) adjudged to be a lunatic;

(b) declared to be of unsound mind;

(c) sentenced to death or imprisonment; or

(d) adjudged or declared bankrupt

(e) any appeal against the decision is pending in any court of law in accordance with any law in force in Nigeria, subsection (1) of this section shall not apply during a period beginning from the date when such appeal is lodged and ending on the date when the appeal is finally determined or, as the case may be, the appeal lapses or is abandoned, whichever is earlier.

138. The President shall not, during his tenure of office, hold any other executive office or paid employment in any capacity whatsoever.

139. The National Assembly shall by an Act make provisions as respects -

(a) persons who may apply to the Court of Appeal for the determination of any question as to whether;

(i) any person has been validly elected to the office of President or Vice-President

(ii) the term of office of the President or Vice President has cease, or

(iii) the office of the President or Vice-President has become vacant

(b) circumstances and manner in which, and the conditions upon which such application may be made; and

(c) powers, practice and procedure of the Court of Appeal in relation to any such application.

140. (1) A person elected to the office of President shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed in this Constitution and he has taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance and the oath of office prescribed in the Seventh Schedule to this Constitution.

No part of the Nigerian constitution forbids you having citizenship of other countries provided you or your parent(s) are born in Nigeria!

Because you are an illiterate who cannot read. Pick your constitution and read. It is readily available online you don't need to go to a bookshop. The constitution allows you to have as many nationality as you want once you are a Nigerian by birth. Nothing can deprive you of your citizenship if you are a citizen by birth. But once you willing acquires a citizen of another country you have deprived your self of becoming the President or a Governor of this country Go to section 137 of the constitution and read and come re interprete what was written there for us

Sharing this story with you is risky because it's a true story and it actually happened, but I'm not deterred as I'm on a mission to sanitize our society of all forms of immorality. Now lets get right into it without any further ado.

My office is located in Gwarinpa in Abuja and my boss is a very busy man who hardly stays in the office. We have another branch in Guzape (Asokoro extension) where my boss hired a lady as the manager in charge. This particular lady is fair and very endowed both ways (I mean front and back). She's attractive too, no doubt. She happens to be a single mother with a son. My boss on the other hand is a family man with four kids.

I had just joined the company when I started noticing that this lady usually drives the company's Mazda salon car to our branch (the headquarters) every week (Thursdays to be precise) to hold a "private meeting" with my boss. Word in the office has it that she was coming for weekly "reporting". Honestly I never once bothered to try and find out what was really going on as I'm the type that is very serious with my work.

Not until the guys in the office started bantering in groups and talking about what was actually going on. Again, I shrugged off their conversation because what's my business, and besides, I don't do office gossip. Well, not until one fateful day....

As I was hurrying up a task given to me by my boss in my usual seriousness with my work, I needed to rush to his office to get his final approval on something that he had asked me to do when I ran into the unbelievable!

Was I dreaming? Was my eyes paining me? For Pete's sake, what was this? In broad daylight that evening, as I knocked, my boss answered "come in" nonchallantly. I don't know what he was thinking. Lo and behold, there they were, he and our branch manager both standing on their feet and very close to each other with my boss unzipping her dress with his both hands! I was embarrassed and so were they. Usually, whenever this lady is around my boss would immediately close all his window curtains. This normally happens around or after closing (remember I told you I'm a serious office worker, so I stay back a lot because naturally I work late into the night everyday).

Since that incident, whatever I say in any meeting involving this particular lady is always accepted and approved by her whether it makes sense or not. In fact, she's trying to move close to me and become my friend by force now to the extent that she even chats with me privately now regularly.

While a man has the full right to do whatever he likes, my question is why do this in the workplace? Why would my boss engage in office romance right in the office building? And why is the lady in question now trying to get close to me by force now? Am I in any real danger? I don't want to lose my job. Please what do I do?

Just clearly express it to the lady that you no send whatever she is doing with the Boss because afterall it is not affecting your work or pay. They are 2 adults, they can live the way they like. Except if your Boss is not the owner of the Business

personal income tax for workers in Nigeria is about 20 to 25%. People selling in the market or shops pay daily levy, monthly or annual levy to local govt. agbero fees is also tax. Factored into the cost of the tfare. You bring food from north with truck you pay various levies and taxes on the road. The woman hawking pure water , keke driver, etc pay taxes daily. The guy selling meat, electrician, welder etc pay members levy. If dem born you well no pay if you wont chop beating.

You are into business some contracts require your tax clearance, many also do withholding tax on contract amount. If you buy food in mr Biggs you will see VAT on the receipt. The difference is taxes are collected informally here. MR Tinubu and his alpha beta will regularize them just wait and see.

With all the taxes what is the common man benefiting Mc oluomo for example is using agbero fees to train his kids abroad and also sleep with Hollywood actresses. The last time i was in Nigeria the car i drove got damage and battered as road no good even in front of a LGA secretariat road was bad.

Alot of people are not paying taxes abroad too. They incorporate a company and charge expenses to it and pay little or no tax.

No matter how you calculate it people hardly part with more than 10% of their income as tax here in Nigeria except those in the formal sector. That is why people will gladly give 10% to pastors in the name of tithe. Had it been that people spend as much as 25 to 35% of their income on taxes as it is done abroad, you will slap any pastor who tell you to bring 10% of your income

Nigerians want their country to be like UK and US but they can't make a single sacrifice. You know the amount of waste a family house living a Flat generate per month, and they are complaining that paying 2,000 per month to dispose it in congested city like lagos is too much. They will rather throw the waste in the streets, blocking roads, drainage, causing flood. Tommorrow they will turn around and say government is doing nothing. We are just the cause of our curse
