Oshoala and Nkwocha are skilful but Mercy Akide will always be at the top as foremost Nigerian female footballer. Strong striker, assertive player and a vocal leader. No time for gossiping. |

GOOD DECISION at this critical social crisis-prone period. Of course, the cost of managing social crisis and its attendant political instability far outweighs the current "huge burden of recovery". |

"If the North does not change, the North will destroy itself. The country is moving on. Quota system that everybody talks about must have a sunset clause. ... You don’t need to rise on being from Kaduna state or being from the North or being a Muslim to get a job, you come with your credentials, you go with your competence, you can compete with any Nigerian from anywhere. We need to get our Northern youths to a point where they don’t need to come from a part of the country to get a job. And believe me, if we don’t listen, there would be a day when there would be a constitutional amendment that addresses these issues of quota system and federal character. The rest of the country cannot be investing, educating its children, producing graduates and then they watch us, they can’t get jobs because they come from the wrong state, when we have not invested in the future of our own children." - Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Feb. 2020) Former Emir of Kano on the occasion of Governor Nasir El-rufai 60th birthday https://www.blueprint.ng/emir-sanusi-warns-north-address-poverty-or-face-destruction/ |

The problem with most Northern federal public office holders is their unfortunate tendency to see everything in terms of WE (Northern interests) vs THEM (Southern interests). They have, over the years, used their positions to serve and promote sectional interests resulting in deep-rooted sense of entitlement, which brings injustice to other sections. Imagine a federal ministry using money budgeted for its primary mandates to build a mosque. This negative attitude interfers with sincerity of purpose, sense of rationality and fairness needed for nation buolding. That's exactly why Nigeria has been unable to reach its potentials. This rubbish attitude must stop and the battle by Southern Governors' Forum for change should be heightened. It is either restructuring or separation. Thank you Governor Akeredolu, SAN |
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Shehu Malami SAN is a disgrace. |

Isoko people! They are even sharing drinks to celebrate the return of one small girl who visited her boyfriend in Warri. The girl is glowing and beaming with good memories of the visit. May be the boyfriend gave her advance payment of bride-price to give her people or something. So much rejoicing for return of a prodigal daughter. ![]() |
Good advice. My take is that Gov. Nasir El Rufai scripted what he is doing. He is testing some crazy theories with the lives and welfare of Kaduna citizens. His intention is to convey the image of a maverick leader, make things tough for Labour union leaders and wear down them a bit in order to secure some favourable concessions. He knows he will never win. Of course, he has a sprinkle of madness in him but he hasn't gone mad full-time. Days ahead will prove whether his crazy brinkmanship tactics are effective or not. |
Pres. Buhari should just manage this Ibori windfall and forget any new loan. But if he still needs more money, he should call politicians like Tinubu, Saraki, Bagudu, Abubakar Yari, Akpabio, Ekweremandu, David Mark to a 'stakeholders meeting', then put a bomb on the centretable and tell them, "Gentlemen I need a so-so amount from you NOW or we all become martyrs for Nigeria". Then, watch how these cowards will frantically fund our budget. ![]() |
Good luck. |
The matter arising here is that loads of people are 'scam bombers' or "drug runners' in their closet while using one visible legit hustle as facade. And come to think of it, how are we even sure that a strange character like Bobrisky doesn't deceive us and divert our attention with his feminine antics during the day but at night, yanks off all those useless dresses and goes to work with a LAPPY and be bombing out mails to 'clients'. Just saying, men, just saying! |
Mr. Andy Wabali sweated too much over a minor issue. The truth is even if your parents are Igbo, you still have the right to choose not to be Igbo. However, your choice doesn't change your origin and ancestry. If language difference is the issue then Ezza people of Ebonyi or Aro people of Abia, for example, can as well not be classified as Igbo. His argument on distinctiveness in culture is empty because every major Igbo group from Nnewi, Owerri, Ihiala, Afikpo, Bendes, Arochukwu, etc has distinct culture with respect to marriage, burial, festivals, etc. However, there are basic features that show Igbonness in each of these cultures. Ikwere people are simply Igbo and inspite of unnecessary effort to the contrary, the fact is that many Ikweres know deep down in their hearts that they fundamentally Igbo. |

The frustration in any an EQUAL PARTNERSHIP is having to deal with a partner who believes he is SUPERIOR to other partners and that any issue he is NOT comfortable with is a "no go area", which should never make it to the discussion table. At a point, the other partners will become frustrated and in order to have their ways, they would become aggressively assertive. Although it is not recognized by the constitution, I subscribe to Nigerian Governors' Forum being more active as a centre for exchange of ideas and resolution of thorny issues than a ceremonial body. But the challenge is, will Northern and Southern governors come with open minds devoid of suspicion? Will the Governors from the party/region that produced the president come with non-partisan attitude? Well over to Governor Kayode Fayemi the Chairman of Nigerian Governors' Forum. Let's see how he drives this in the weeks ahead. |

I am happy about the response and body language of National Secretary of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma towards the current economic and social realities facing 'waka waka' cattle rearing in Nigeria. The truth is that grazing lands hitherto available to farmers and herders in Southern Nigeria have shrunk due to development. So, the ban on open grazing Southern Governirs Forum has nothing to do with discrimination or hatred but merely an inevitable response to realities. Interestingly, large expanse of lands in the Northern are begging to be used. But the Northern Governors with the exception of Ganduje are just neither responsive nor visionary about the economic opportunities which ranching could bring. This is simply because FAAC allocation is assured. That's the whole essence of the RESTRUCTURING we are clamouring for. Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) should turn the pressure and heat on Northern Governors to do the needful. They are there to solve problems like this. |
The problem I see here is simply refusal to accept or rather phobia of new ideas. Refusing to accept the benefits in cattle ranching. Refusing to accept the massive economic benefits in restructuring the country in line with current realities. |

It was totally WRONG for the Senate President to have berated the elected heads of federating units for pursing the interests of their states. He simply made a big fool of himself. It is the Northern Governors' Forum that is supposed to speak in pursuit of their own interests. The truth is 'na pressure dey burst pipe'. There is need to keep up the pressure to restructure Nigeria and make it politically strong and economically prosperous once again. Therefore, the Southern States' Governors should encourage their Houses of Assembly to follow up on this recent actions by immediately organizing town-hall meetings and special hearings about restructuring the Nigeria to gather the views of ordinary citizens of their states. The current structure of Nigeria is inhibiting our growth as country. The need to restructure is crucial but the Northerners have selfishly refused to see this. The Southerners can't just sit in there helplessly and mop. The Nigeria project partnership is neither a TRAP nor a SLAVERY. |
Ok |
His response to Southern Governors' Forum was most unfortunate. He spoke like a Northerner with bloated ego rather than the President of the Nigerian Senate. Very disappointing. |
