TonyeBarcanista you disagreed with Southern Governors' Forum on their stand on National Dialogue that is POSSIBLE and then recommended National Sovereign Conference that is parallel to NASS and therefore IMPOSSIBLE. Tell us how to practically convoke Sovereign National Conference or just shut up and allow the Governors to continue on National Dialogue track. They are not all stupid. |
budaatum:You don't seem to appreciate what it means if the 17 States of the Southern Nigeria and its people reach CONSENSUS to boycott 2023 to pressure for a REVIEW of the current constitution for prosperous and stable country. It means INEC will not be allowed in. NO ELECTION ANYWHERE IN ANY POLLING BOOTH IN SW, SE and SS. Going by your position, it means that the South is helplessly trapped in Nigeria project. Perish this mentality. Unless you protest, the person standing on your feet stays firmly and blamelessly. Nigeria's Independence did not come by accepting status quo. No!, people agitated and protested before the colonial masters responded. |
budaatum:Boycotting election means NO election in any polling booth anywhere in the South. Nobody comes out. By the way, your analysis is too tame. Why are you afraid? Are you from the North and deeply bothered about the suggested boycott? Look, if SW, SE and SS boycott election, it is either the North comes to the dialogue table and we all kiss Nigeria good bye. |
budaatum:To become a president of Nigeria, a candidate must receive a majority of the vote and over 25% of the vote in at least 24 of the 36 states i.e 2/3. The number of states in SS, SW and SE are 17. This means that, in the event of Election boycott, whoever contests the presidential election will NEVER meet the key constitutional requirement as only 19 states are remaining to participate. Look, we must perish wimpy thoughts and step up like equal stakeholders in Nigerian project. If the whole Southern Nigeria rejects an election and its product, that product can NOT impose himself on the South. Dey never born the person. |
The truth is that current structure of Nigeria is inhibiting our growth as country. We need to innovate or die. Therefore, Southern Nigeria Governors Forum and Southern NASS members should follow up their recent RESTRUCTURING resolution with CONCRETE actions. The following actions are suggested: 1. Commission a broad-based thinktank to design a document that contains how the proposed restructuring should work and how it will take the country to greater heights. At the present, it's all rhetorics. We need a document, a restructuring roadmap proposal. 2. Submit the proposed plan to the president for his information as official proposals and position of Southern Nigeria, which will guide discussion with the North based on their own proposals and stand. 3. Table this proposed plan before Northern Governors Forum and National Assembly leadership as a prelude to roundtable talks. 4. Make it clear that the South will boycott 2023 elections if the North unilateraly reject the restructuring proposal for status quo. Insisting on status quo should be the DEAL-BREAKER 5 Make SMOOTH plans for state and geopolitical government and parliament. Nigeria doesn't belong to the North. It is a multi-partner project. This is time to enforce active equal partnership or nothing. |
It is now clear that Hadiza Bala Usman learnt the art of STUBBORNNESS from the master himself, her "forever boss" Mallam Nadir El-Rufai. Her 'sweet' feminine appearance betrays her strong personality, unnecessary official insubordination and lack of diplomacy. However, by foolishly disregarding presidential directives, she built up RECEIPTS which came in handy after that her famous February Tweet. Having advance knowledge of her impending suspension and still unable to do something is a sign that she may have destroyed bridges in a bid to build her own path. It is even possible that she may have dumped El-Rufai until her current travails. She seems to be using this sallah holiday to lobby hard, the success or otherwise of which will manifest in the weeks ahead. |
Wasky101:David Hundeyin made a whole lot of revelations by merely analysing telecom data of persons of interest. He could have done more If he had legal mandate. This nobody can deny. His inferences are not meant to be conclusive but to instigate further investigation. Of course, my positive impression about David Hundeyin can't change because Davok hotel doesn't belong to Akpabios. I am more concerned about what he did for late Iniubong and other victims, who could have been a sibling or close relation you cherish. |
Ok |
I don't know if Unoma Akpabio owns Davok Suites but what I know is that David Hundeyin is badass intelligent investigative journalist. David deserves a national award. |
Good move. |

Pride, disobedience and disorder are never of the kingdom of light. Unfortunately, these were beginning to creep into Fr. Ejike Mbaka's utterances and conduct. His Bishop knew he needed a retreat ASAP to avoid going completely astray. He needed to stay away from his - obsequious acolytes who make him feel larger than life - tedious preparation for weekly programs - composition and recording of new songs - the management of his various small-scale social enterprises, - other distractions in order to QUIETLY meditate on God, the teachings of Jesus Christ and the basics of priesthood. I will not be surprised if he is flown to Rome away from Enugu. He needs this retreat badly to refocus and refresh. The truth is that the Church has over the centuries defrocked recalcitrant priests who thought they have large followers. Once this is done, they came face to face with the reality. The tail doesn't wag the dog. |
Taking analgesic for another man's headache is uncalled for. Due to constitutional exclusive/concurrent listing, every non-federal airport in Nigeria is initially built as cargo airport and later used for passenger operation. So, Anambra Airport will offer comprehensive aviation services. Airport business goes beyond aircract landing fees. There are many commercial opportunities around any airport ranging from hotel, car-park, shopping mall, conference centre, aviation training and simulator centre, etc |
Well... |
Pastor T.B Joshua sent a clear condolence message to G.O Enoch Adeboye on the death of his son. But the reporter managed to add "However, Adeboye has publicly said in the past he would not worship in Joshua’s church". That's unnecessary mischief there. |
With multiple access roads being constructed, I believe that no true onye Anambra will prefer airports in surrounding states to Anambra Airport unless the quality of airport services is poor. |
KelvinCoaster:Oh! very well! |
My suggestion: Any newly registered party should be qualified to contest ONLY legislative elections at federal and state levels. Only parties whose candidate(s) won seats in the State Assembly should be eligible to contest for governorship election and only parties whose candidate(s) won seats in the National Assembly should be eligible to contest for presidential election. In this way, - parties will be encouraged to work hard to build from grassroots and grow - parties will make effort to discourage defections by not selling its nomination forms to highest bidding 'internally displaced politicians' who are looking for platforms to run for elections. - Above all, it will reduce the number of parties on the presidential and governorship ballot paper. |

Righteousness2:Righteousness2, as a christian, are you without sin? Answer me "Raw"! |
Righteousness2:You are too judgmental. Why conclude that I am deceiving myself because my view differs from yours. Look, that "you have Surrendered to JESUS as your Lord and Savior and you are living for Him.." doesn't exempt you from the temptations of the world. A Christian can fall but must defiantly get up to keep fighting because there is a crown that awaits whoever fights till end. Christians are not righteous people but unrighteous people who strive daily to be righteous in Jesus Christ because "cut off from Him, you can do nothing." Now, I believe you are a Christian. So my questions vis-a-vis your stand, are you Christ-like person? Are you without a sin? |
Righteousness2:Christians living in the world do sin in words, thoughts and actions but there is a window of forgiveness open following repentance. However, only God who sees the heart and its secret intentions is qualified to judge. Hence, the injunction: Do not judge. Physical appearance often deceive human beings and influence their judgements. However, you can draw inferences about a person or event but you must keep it to yourself and not boldly broadcast it. |
slawormiir:Under any thread on gospel singers, you always write that Christians don't often play gospel songs. My question is why are you here to comment once again if you are too sure of that opinion? Illusion of the optical prism if you ask me. |
Righteousness2:This post is dangerously judgmental. Has it crossed your mind that your assumptions and inferences with regards to the subject-matter might be overly faulty. There is no guarantee that Chidinma was a SINNER when she was singing secular music. And if she was, there is no guarantee that singing gospel will make her a SAINT. We are all together in this journey of life that has so many distractions. Grace and mercy of God abound through Jesus Christ as you already know. We trust as we fight. Having said this, I want to say that I admire your posts from time to time. Keep it up soldier! |
It is Chidinma's life to live. In my opinion, her going back to gospel songs is not bad provided she is happy and fulfilled. My only worry is that her new song "Jehovah Overdo" is typical Eezee concept Label song. With Mercy Chinwo and Judikay already on that path, it will profit Chidinma more to create a new path given her experience. She should resist the temptation to use the label's in-house song-writing format and dare to use professional songwriters where possible. To illustrate, "Excess Love" by Mercy Chinwo is a breath of fresh because it had the external and professional influence of James Hairston. |
Rest. When your own daughter does the same thing, buy her a strapon Love Machine as a gift. OK! |
