Senator Ifeanyi Ararume is not intellectually and ethically qualified to be appointed as non Executive Chairman of the newly Incorporated Nigeria National Petroleum Company, but Pres. Buhari is his usual inexcusable manner appointed him. For some reasons, he removed him just as he positioned his sharp knife to take another generous slice of the national cake. Now, Ararume is pissed and has sued Pres. Buhari's ****. ![]() Well, sometimes sense can be a derivative of nonsense. So, may be, just may be for the first time in his life, Senator Ararume may in pursuit of his selfish agenda be giving back to Nigeria which he alongside other corrupt politicians exploited for long . Fellow Nigerians, this law suit may expose inherent lacuna in the cited laws and thereby end up strengthening aspects of Nigerian law. |

frankson1:Yes, I agree with you. Leadership is key. A thinking leader with vision and roadmap. A leader with political will and firm handling of critical issues. A leader who will be open to ideas and be ready to accept mistakes and make desired amends. A leader who will have a think-tank kitchen cabinet and not wine-drinking cabal. A leader who will sell his ideas to target state governors for multiplier effects. We need a good leader. Yes, we badly do. |
babajero:Well... |
babajero:Constitution isn't the problem but the parties to the constitution. Constitution can be amended at any time to meet the needs of the time. The problem is that Nigeria doesn't produce enough to earn forex apart from the dwindling oil revenues. No more industries, uncultivated arable lands, archaic livestock rearing system, lack of incentives and enabling environment for SMEs, wasting marine resources, untapped mineral resources, etc has little to do with constitution. |
frankson1:Our being in economic crisis has little to do with "constitution, true federalism, resource control". It has so much with fact that we are not producing enough locally to export and earn well to become prosperous. The States which are federating units with their budgets aren't doing much to develop their local economy, which mocks the concept of Federalism. The allocation the state governors get from FAAC and IGR generated are badly managed which mocks the concept of resource control. The FG and State governments need to invest in agricultural production and food processing, livestock production, fishery, exploitation of minerals, sundry incentives for SMES, etc. to meet local needs and sell to the outside world. Don't get me wrong, restructuring is good but how about doing that on full stomach rather than empty one. |
Perfectbeing:Saying "to hell with oil revenue" isn't abandoning oil exploration, refining and exportation. It is boldly giving the exploitation of other resources top-drawer attention like oil. More importantly, any diversification initiative that comes from the centre (FG) without the involvement of the constituent states governments won't have the expected multiplier effect. |
Stop this high sounding words. What Nigeria needs is a president who will say to hell with oil earnings which by the way is dwindling so fast. A president who will actively diversify the economy in collaboration with state governors who often lack such initiatives. Note that any attempt for any FG to act in silo with its diversification initiatives without state governors like Buhari did will never achieve much. Nigeria is a country with so much young population and so much agricultural, livestock, marine, mineral, human capital resources and massive entrepreneurship drive but so much unproductivity (joblessness) and waste of resources due lack enabling environment. Let's produce to dominate West African market and then Africa up to the world stage to earn forex and become prosperous once again. A country with money reinvests in education, infrastructure, health, etc. to become more prosperous. |

MKO Abiola was a professional chartered accountant turned investor who created massive employment for hundreds of Nigerians in different fields. He has a very LARGE heart that knew no ethnicity, religion or class. When he ran for president, Christians had no problem when chose a fellow Muslim from the North as VP candidate. They were sure he would be fair-minded. On election day of June 12, 1993, in the middle of rainy season which the then Head of State Ibrahim Babangida deliberately and mischievously chosen, nature aligned with MKO Abiola and there was not a single drop of rain across the country. Amazing, isn't? However, MKO had a massive weakness: KPEKUS. Consequently, he had many women in his harem and of course tens of children. The consequence of this is that after his death, his first son Kola deliberately allowed his businesses to go under to reduce unending generational fight for MKO properties by these numerous children. Incidentally, as grace would have it, MKO Abiola had a long time away from lure of women in detention and perhaps a rare opportunity to seek sincere forgiveness from God and man. MKO Abiola was an African giant. No lyrics of any heavily-flawed mortal will erase his positive legacy. May his soul continue to rest in peace. |

Allen Onyeama but Odogwu. And Odogwu is never a nickname. Surprisingly, Niger Delta people haven't openly complained that they are looking for their money. What do I know? ![]() |
Keep the Arabic or even add Latin but let the value of Naira rise. We need it badly. |
Beautiful to watch. Oyibo always willing to learn new things without shame. |
Dude was a failure as NFF Chairman. |
Given that CBN relates to Ministry of Finance but reports to the President, I guess it was hidden from her as Minister of Finance with presidential permission to avoid the information leaking to the public before things are concluded. She should take her heart or submit her resignation letter. |

There is no difference between Festus Keyamo and Dele Momodu: they are shameless mouthpieces and defenders of two friends/business associates who care more about their personal interests than the general good. I am unmoved by Dele Momodu emotional outpouring. He worshiped corrupt people and glorified their lavish lifestyle through his Ovation magazine. Look, each of those politicians mentioned gained so much while working with Tinubu. Tinubu gained from their talents and they gained political appointments, fame, wealth and connections from their association with Tinubu. |

A manifesto is important for any serious presidential candidate as serve as source of focus and as a strong assurance to voters that the candidate has some action plans. Personally, I think Peter Obi will still unveil a manifesto. I have a feeling he wanted to belittle the impact of Tinubu releasing his manifesto. |
That's Tinubu's manifesto. Now, we need manifestos from Atiku who Dele Momodu supports and Peter Obi. Yes, manifesto may not guarantee good leadership but pieces of practical non-generic solutions in there can show readiness to solve certain problems. |
