Novak: A 23-year-old woman has been arrested after having sex with a pit bull.

Police were called after neighbours spotted Kara Vandereyk having intercourse with the dog in her back yard in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Vandereyk paused and said: “Hi” when she was approached by officers, then resumed touching the dog in a sexual manner.

Vandereyk appeared to be under the influence of drugs or mentally ill, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report seen by Fox5 detailed.

She was quoted as telling officers she was bipolar but could not remember if she had taken her medication. Vandereyk was unable to tell officers her own name and did not know what year it is.

She has been charged with open and gross lewdness and the animal has been taken into the custody of Animal Control.

Asports: More worries for Stephen Keshi,as it has been confirmed that the duo of John Obi Mikel and Fegor Ogude would miss Nigeria’s quarter-finals clash against Ivory Coast on Sunday.

Both Mikel and Ogude, bagged two yellow cards each in the group stages of the 2013 African Nations Cup,which automatically translates to a one match ban.

Mikel on his part did not know that he would miss the clash with Ivory Coast,even boasting of the Super Eagles chances after the 2-0 defeat of Ethiopia.

“Playing against Ivory Coast is going to be both tough and exciting and some of our opponents are my friends, especially Didier Drogba,” Mikel was quoted to have said after the game on Tuesday.

But upon realizing his fate come Sunday,Mikel told KickOffNigeria.com how sad he is,over his unavailability.

“I found out last night and I am so so upset about it,” Mikel said.

“I was really looking forward to helping the team get past this game” the 25-year old added.

Despite his absence,Mikel believes that the players who would replace him, will do the required job to get Nigeria to semi-finals.

Morgan1092: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday said it had located a mansion belonging to a former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, in an upscale area of Lagos.
The commission said in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujiaren, that the property was discovered on Thursday at No. 5, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki in Lagos by its operatives.
Ibori was convicted on April 18, 2012 by a United Kingdom crown court and sentenced to a13-year jail term for corruption and money laundering.
The EFCC said the property “is suspected to be one of the proceeds of money laundering for which the ex-governor was convicted in the UK.
“The attachment of the property is the fallout of continued efforts by the anti- graft agency to trace,find and seize properties that were acquired with stolen funds by the former governor.
“The property is a mansion with a mini reception at the ground floor and a detached ‘Boys Quarters’.
“Two occupants of the house, Moses Abu and Kaycee Kasim, were interrogated and made useful statements.”
According to pictures released bythe commission, the house also has a swimming pool.
Items recovered from the house include sewing machines, mannequins and other personal effects.
They were all packed in cartons and sealed by EFCC operatives before being moved to its office in Lagos.
This is the latest property owned by Ibori which has located and attached.
In July 2012, the United States Department of Justice secured a restraining order against more than $3m looted funds and a mansion in Houston, Texas, U.S owned by Ibori.
The department got the powers through an application filed under seal on May 16, 2012, in a U.S District Court in the District of Columbia, to register and enforcetwo orders from United Kingdomcourts against more than $3m in corruption proceeds related to Ibori.
This was announced by AssistantAttorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton in a statement on the U.SDOJ website.
“The application, which was filedunder seal on May 16, 2012, in U.S. District Court in the District ofColumbia, seeks to restrain assetsbelonging to Governor Ibori and Bhadresh Gohil, Ibori’s former English solicitor, that are proceeds of corruption.
“Specifically, it seeks to restrain a mansion in Houston and two Merrill Lynch brokerage accounts.U.S District Judge Lamberth granted the application and issued a restraining order under seal on May 21, 2012.
“The department was notified today that its application to unseal the restraining order was granted.
“The United States is working with the United Kingdom’s Crown Prosecution Service and the Metropolitan Police Service to forfeit these corruption proceeds,” it said.

philips70: Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State and former National Security Adviser Andrew Owoye Azazi apparently died in a helicopter that crashed today in Bayelsa State, a reliable source has told SaharaReporters.

Governor Yakowa and Mr. Azazi, a retired military general who served as chief security adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, were among passengers in the ill-fated helicopter.

Nigeria's National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) had earlier indicated that the agency had activated a search for a crashed helicopter.

Our sources had earlier disclosed that the crashed chopper was carrying “some major political figures.” As at the time of going to press, Saharareporters was unable to confirm the identity of any other passengers in the ill-fated chopper.

Governor Yakowa and Mr. Azazi were among many political figures who reportedly attended the burial of the father of senior presidential aide Oronto Douglas. The funeral event took place in the Nembe area of Bayelsa State earlier today. SaharaReporters learnt that the crashed helicopter was one of several helicopters that some well-connected people to the funeral.

The crash comes on the heels of a plane crash on October 25, 2012 that has left Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State brain-damaged. Mr. Suntai was moved to a hospital in Germany where he remains in poor shape, unable to recognize his visitors or to speak.

The first banknotes featuring the face of Nelson Mandela have gone into circulation in South Africa.

They are the first South African notes to bear the image of a black person - they replace notes with wild animals and rural and industrial scenes.

President Jacob Zuma says the banknotes were a "humble gesture" to express South Africa's "deep gratitude".

Mr Mandela, 94, is one of the world's best loved figures after spending 27 years in prison for fighting apartheid.

Reserve Bank governor Gill Marcus was the first to use the new banknotes when she spent 160 rand, about $18 (£12) on some nuts, beetroot, a watermelon and a cucumber at her local shop in the capital, Pretoria.

She said that Mr Mandela was delighted with the design.

She also noted that South Africa tries to update its currency every seven years for security reasons. The new design includes watermarks and a metal strip, while raised printing was added to assist the visually impaired.

Mr Mandela's face is on one side of all the new banknotes, while the "Big Five" animals - lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant - remain on the reverse.

He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his campaign against white minority rule and was elected president the following year before stepping down after a single term.

Known affectionately by his clan name "Madiba", he has now retired from public life.

Belewu: A BRAZILIAN student has reportedly sold her virginity for almost half a million pounds in an online auction.
Catarina Migliorini, 20, was one of two virgins to take part in the auction for an Australian documentary.
A Japanese man bid £487,000 to be the first to take her to bed.
Catarina said she would use the money to study medicine in Argentina, according to Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo.

“I am 20, I am responsible for my body and I am not hurting anyone,” she said.
“For me, it’s not prostitution. When someone does something once in his or her life, this is not considered a profession. If you take a picture and it comes out good, you are not a photographer because of it.”
Russian lad Alexander Stepanov also sold his virginity on the Virgins Wanted auction, receiving the winning bid of £1,876 from Brazil.
The documentary has attracted criticism on its Facebook page with several users voicing concerns over the ethics of the auction.

According to the auction’s terms, Catarina will undergo a medical examination to prove she is a virgin and the consummation will take place within the next ten days.
The "rules" also ban the use of intimacy gadgets, kissing and recording, as well as stipulating a minimum time of one hour.
Each virgin will reportedly receive $20,000 as well as 90 percent of their "sale" figure.
Catarina was previously said to be taking part to raise money for the poor.

Femzy24: The wave of terror attacks in Nigeria on Tuesday took a new turn as a suicide bomber attempted to blow up an Arik Air plane flying from Maiduguri to Abuja.

A suspected member of the Boko Haram sect who had boarded in Maiduguri, Borno State got up midair and told all the passengers to say their last prayers. As he brought out the explosive device, he disclosed that his main targets were the white people in the aircraft.

The explosive device however failed to detonate before the plane landed in Abuja. Police bomb experts moved in and the terrorist was arrested when the plane touched down in Abuja.

The attempt on the airline has shown the dynamism of the dreaded Islamist sect. Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force had earlier hinted that the sect has plans to launch attacks on Sallah day.

Turbocharged: CONTROVERSY continues to trail claim by a member of the House of Representatives, Mallam Abdulrazak Nuhu Bature, that he possesses an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration (ADPA) from the University of Jos.

Bature, who represents Ningi/Warji Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, allegedly claimsto be a 2006/2007 graduate of the ADPA programme of the institution in his curriculum vitae.

The university, however, insists he was never its student.

The fresh disclaimer by the university follows a public notice in a national daily, which sought to discredit an earlier disclaimer published by the university in two national newspapers last month.

The quarter page advertisement purported tohave emanated from the office of the registrar entitled Re-Disclaimer claimed that the published disclaimer did not emanate from the university and urged the public to discountenance it.

The university, in a reaction, described the advertisement as a forgery designed to confuse the public and re-affirmed its earlier publication that the legislator was never a student of the institution.

Deputy Registrar (Information and Publications) of the university, Mr. Steve Otowo, told journalists that the university stands by the earlier disclaimer.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Saturday punched a protocol officer who refused to allow him sit on a chair reserved for the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, at the 80th birthday celebration of former vice president, Chief Alex Ekwueme, in Enugu.

The incident occurred 20 minutes before most of the invited guests arrived.

SUNDAY PUNCH learnt that the seater was reserved for the host Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime and Obi. The Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, represented Chime who is still out of the country.

The protocol officer, Mr. Ifeanyi Onukuba, who works with Obi, was shocked at Okorocha’s action and before he could recover from it, a police officer attached to the Bomb Disposal Unit in Anambra State, Mr. Felix Alumona, pushed Okorocha when he was removing the tag bearing Obi’s name from the seat.

Our correspondent observed that Okorocha’s Aide de Camp, Gabriel Onu, immediately pounced on Alumona, hitting and tearing his uniform, while other security details attached to the Imo governor joined in the scuffle.

Sensing that the matter was beginning to attract people, Okorocha quickly waded in, saying, “Hey, please stop the fight! Let us not fight over an ordinary seat. I will share the seat with Peter Obi.”

Minutes after the fracas, Okorocha’s aides grumbled saying, “Why is it that anywhere we go, they always reserve a special seat for Obi. Is Okorocha not the leader of Ndigbo?”

When Obi arrived, he squeezed himself in the couch, sitting between Onyebuchi and Okorocha.[/b]
